I graduated from Norte Vista (across the street)... several years ago. And this spot was a favorite for my friends and I. I stopped by since I was in the area... new facing on the store (and new ownership since way back then, according to the employee) and no more arcade games on the inside. But, the employee working there was kind and the donuts are fairly priced. What a deal! And... super fresh and tasty. What a nice surprise! If you're around, drop by this spot. The storefront is beat up, the location is unsavory, but the insides defy all that outside negative stuff. I thought it was just a donut shop, but with everything they sell, it's more like a 7 Eleven and Denny's had a baby but it looks like Yum Yum Donuts so everyone is suspicious. They sell sandwiches, fancy blended drinks (using a Vitamix), trinkets that bring you good luck, and yes donuts. I am not a donut fan (too sweet), but I can struggle down an apple fritter. This shop may not look like much, but don't be so quick to let looks deceive you. As you walk in, you are greeted by some of the friendliest employees out there, matched by some delicious goodies! The donuts and other baked goods always taste so fresh, and their blended beverages are always a sweet addition. All in all, I'd say this is one of the best local donut shops around. read more

Just went it today to get some donuts and the young lady with glasses and a black hoodie was licking/ sucking on her hands as if she was eating something I seen her as I walked passed the small window they have in the side and I didn't see her wash her hands at all !! Don't let the storefront fool you ... sure it looks a little run-down...look through the window and you see old-school video game machines that aren't even on and a wall full of lotto scratcher winners and a small display of cigarettes. Their menu sign is not that appealing either ... but why five stars? Well, Donut Tyme's donuts are freakin' amazing, that's why! Sure they have an odd selection of goods (stacks of cup of noodles, Lacoste knock-off polos, rolls of Oreos from a max pack, etc) but the donuts here are awesome! Lined and displayed perfectly, the donuts are so mouth-watering and appealing. My favorite is this donut, glazed with chocolate, covered in chocolate chips and filled with chocolate ... ohemmgee, can you say chocolate heaven? Their donuts are different than any other donuts from other ma and pop donut shops .. they are soft and airy in the inside, with a nice crispness on the outside. What sets them apart is the texture inside ... you can tell the difference ... velvet-ty softness. The guy that works there is awesome too ... i think his name is Daniel. He has the best customer service and can make an awesome iced mocha or strawberry cream shake. He is super nice and wears these cool glasses! My husband loves this place. I don't eat donuts very often, so I consider it a splurge when I do. So, my husband knows I enjoy a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting and peanuts. A few months back, he bought me my said favorite donut. When I bit into it.....mold!! Seriously, mold. I told him it tasted funny. When I looked down, mold. I know he typically buys them in the evening and not the morning, but seriously, how long are they recycling these donuts if they don't sell? Gross! So, six months or so later. He tried again. Hate to did this, but I came here Saturday night and got two boba drinks and two donuts. The boba drinks were AWFUL. Yes many places make them with the same powder flavors but most (the good ones) blend it with at least ice cream and milk to make them creamy but they were watered down and so gross. The one star is solely based on the fact that the drinks were terrible plus they had a huge sign that said no refunds or exchanges like as if they know it's bad. The buttermilk bar I got was actually delicious it deserves that one star and we got another basic plain pink donut and it was good. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Just cause I wasn't dressed nice and kindda tired the lady inside totally treated me like a loser .I'm a business owner and I know as a business owner the way she treated me unacceptable. I forgot my wallet at home she wasn't turning in tickets till 7 and all I had was quarters she cheated and looked at me in disgust aggravated irritated but I give this business donut time on Arlington a 0 - 00 Stars for bad customer service. I need this Monday morning 4:31 a.m. so whoever was working there this morning I hope one day you call my business cuz you need something clean and I can show you how real customer service is supposed to be. Nice little Mom and Pop shop. I've been coming here for about 4 years now, i don't live here, but the Boyfriend and Family does and they love maple bars. Every time i'm in town (which is every month) i would come by and pick up 1/2 dozen maple Bavarian custard filled bars. Delicious!! I've tried other donut shop around the area and they don't compare.
