    Food Truck

INTRO: DonutNV is a food truck that serves a wide variety of mini-donuts that are made-to-order. Although they are located in Advance, NC, they can be found around in the neighboring cities if you look at their schedule in advance (no pun intended :P). DESSERT 1: Small bag of mini donuts ($6.00) - I thought that I could customize each individual donut but was told that I could only pick one flavor, so I decided on Shamrock Sprinkles in honor of St. Patty's Day. The donuts were definitely mini, but they still retained a nice outer crisp and was fluffy and airy on the inside. The donuts were decorated with condensed sugar and green sprinkles. The food truck has a window that is available for watching the donut-making process. 6.5/10 WORTH IT? At a cost of $1.00 per mini donut, I hesitate to give my approval for DonutNV being "worth it", but all of their donuts are made-to-order, contrary to the major donut franchises such as Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts. If you like mini donuts, then this is your place to be. (Overall 6.5/10)

I stumbled upon DonutNV at an event in Cornelius and it made my whole day!! The man running the food truck was a beam of sunshine with such a happy demeanor. It made the experience so enjoyable even though the donuts were exceptional themselves. I was able to watch them make my donuts through a window in the food truck, so the mini donuts came out fresh. I wish it was a permanent spot because it was just that good!!

I am a big fan of chorizo and well I am also a big fan of queso, but had never had them together. It had a little bit of a kick to it but, nothing too crazy; it really complimented the juicy burger well. The other burger on the menu that caught my eye is the breakfast burger. I will have to be sure to try that in the near future. As always they provided service with a smile!

Their burgers are incredible and the service is fantastic. My favorite burger that I've had from Camel City is a take on Ben's Pimento Burger. You simply go up and say "I'd like the Ben's Pimento Burger 'Ben's Way'." Chances are you will be speaking to Ben himself, so there won't be any issues on him understanding you. Ben's way is the normal Ben's Pimento Burger, but instead of using the regular brioche bun they use a grilled pimento cheese sandwich as the top bun and a grilled pimento cheese sandwich as the bottom bun. Ben's way isn't for those who have heart problems or even who are worried about heart problems, but for the rest of you it is delicious! The pimento cheese is incredible here. It is chipotle pimento and is a great amount of spice. After eating this burger Ben's way, I immediately crashed and took a 3 hour nap. Clear your schedules people. It is totally worth it though. For a day when you can't take a 3 hour nap, their other burgers are delicious as well. The second best option, in my opinion, is the PBB&J Burger. This is a burger with homemade peanut butter, red pepper jelly, and bacon. This may seem like an odd combo of ingredients, but they seriously come together perfectly. I think that I could just sit around all day dipping that bacon in the pepper jelly. I haven't tried many of their sides, but I would recommend the Southern Style Potato Salad. The food here is creative, inspired, and delicious. The service is seriously some of the best that I've experienced from a food truck. They seem to have a system down. I've seen them serve dozens of hungry patrons quickly and with a smile. The owner of the truck, Ben, seems like a genuine guy and seems to sincerely enjoy what he does. Plus, he's a Tar Heel which is reason enough to support him. Do yourself a favor and figure out where Camel City Grill is going to roll up to next and make sure you are there.

Bao Yeah offers not only bao but bowls and fried chicken as well. Their ordering (via tablet) is convenient, and they turn around orders quickly. I went with a three-piece bao, which allowed me to sample the two fried chicken varieties (K*Bomb with gochujang and Garlic Gang with soy black garlic) as well as the bulgogi. All of the bao were amply stuffed with meat and pickled vegetables and slathered with tasty sauce. The thick buns held everything in place, so eating was not too sloppy an endeavor. Everything delivered the expected flavors - sweet heat from the K*Bomb, a tangier note from the bulgogi - and the fried chicken boasted a thick, crunchy batter. It was quite tasty though the chicken was definitely a bit dry. At least the bulgogi was nice and tender. All told, Bao Yeah is a promising newish addition to the Triad food truck scene. It may not be the best Korean street food you've ever had, but you're in for a flavorful meal without a long wait.

I went with the lobster roll, chasing a food memory from last summer in New England. The menu is short and to the point. Lobster, crab, and shrimp rolls, and a variety of stuffed avocados. The lobster roll was a little bit under $20, with 3oz of chilled lobster complimented by a generous portion of mayo and a buttery bun toasted to perfection. This sandwich beat my expectations by a long shot! A generous portion of super cold lobster meat, tender and succulent. I found the seasoning a bit off putting, as it distracted from the overall flavor of the lobster. Their website is a couple of weeks behind but check on Facebook for day of locations. Or you might just see their truck somewhere like I did and stop on by.

For $23 I got a lobster roll and Cape Cod chips. The price is high but I have to say my grilled roll was stuffed with lobster. No fillers of any sort. You do get a small container of melted butter. My husband added the butter to his and thought it added a lot however I was quite happy eating it as is. It was just plump full of lobster and the roll was also good. They also offer lobster in a stuffed avocado and a couple of different seafood rolls as well. We will definitely be keeping our eye out for this food truck in the future. From the number of people ordering, it appears that the secret is out on how good this food truck is.

First off, this isn't just a random food truck. There is such an incredible story behind it. It's run by Gary and his best friend Alex, who have been friends since grade school back in Mexico City, Mexico!! You can feel that deep history in the way they run their business. There's a level of trust, energy, and authenticity that you don't usually see, and it trickles down to the entire team!!!Every employee I interacted with was genuinely happy, welcoming, and proud to be there (which says a lot) especially during these times. They've also set themselves up in some of the best spots around. I visited : 1) Summerfield Farms. 2) Oden Brewing Company. At both locations, you're not just grabbing food, you're getting a whole experience! Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Live music, dog friendly. The menu is simple, affordable, and done right. We got to try 4 different tacos, their queso dip, and their churros, and everything delicious! The meat was seasoned to perfection, super juicy, and full of flavor without being overcomplicated. But what really made this experience unforgettable? I got invited onto the truck to make my own churros!! let me tell you, that is not something you get to do every day. It was hands-on, fun, and honestly one of the most unique experiences I've had, collaborating with another business. By the end of it, it didn't even feel like a transaction anymore, we became friends! Taco Bros isn't just serving food, they're building up thier community. And that's something you don't come across often.

Overall the truck seemed very clean and hygienic for a food truck. The staff was incredibly friendly and organized. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. The prices are a bit high which is common for food trucks. Guac and chips was $10 and the chicken quesadilla was $14. One thing that would have been a nice touch was Jarritos. The chicken quesadilla was good but could have used a bit more seasoning. It was good sized and stuffed full of chicken, onions, peppers, and cheese. Overall we enjoyed Taco Bros and would definitely try them again at another event.
