I've been hearing stories about this place. Just a small little shop in Thomasville. Legends speak of their fritters of various flavors. I had to pop in to see what all the fuss was about. The smell of freshly baked sweet hits you in the face like a shovel from a Three Stooges skit as soon a you near the door. It is a very warm and inviting place with display cases of donuts, fritters and other baked goodies. The young lady who helped me was polite and friendly . I ordered three apple fritters to share with my family. The legends are true. The fritters were sweet but not too sweet and not overly heavy. It was delicious on its own but it really shines being enjoyed with your favorite hit cup of coffee. Big hit with the family. I look forward to trying some different things here next time I'm in town. Granny's is worth a visit. You are bound to find something to satisfy that craving for baked goodness. read more

Fabulous locally owned Granny's Donuts - just wow. When it comes to standards with donuts I've got a bar pretty high because of what I grew up on (mom and pop bakery back in Indiana) - Granny's is ....... BETTER !! I just found out this morning that my original review for Granny Mac's Donut Shop should have been for this place instead... so I went back & deleted that review. Here is my original review of Granny's Doughnuts: *** Oh yeah, we're a bunch of fatties at work!! Someone is ALWAYS bringing Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts, or Bojangles biscuits for b-fast.... but this morning, we had a new hire drive down to visit our Charlotte office from Raleigh. She stopped at Granny's and bought a dozen plain glazed donuts. I usally try to avoid the treats in the breakroom, but this morning that just didn't happen. I got a ginormous donut & put it in the microwave for 10 seconds to warm it. OHMYGOD. These freshly made old fashioned style donuts put KK and DD to shame! They are big and fluffy - they melt in your mouth with just the perfect amount of glaze. After this deliciousness, I just don't see the point in having a donut imposter from one of the big chains. Good thing this bakery is so far away, or I suspect we'd all have to go out and buy some lovely elastic waist-band pants! *** So, this morning I found out that I had originally reviewed the wrong place because my co-worker from the RTP area came back down with some more Granny's doughnuts. This time, I saw the label on the box with the correct name & address of the bakery. This time she brought 2 dozen of those delicious doughnuts since last time the one box got eaten so quickly! Hmmm... maybe we need to request that the company install a stairmaster or two in the breakroom since no one around here can seem to resist that doughey goodness. Granny's Donuts is one of those places you look forward to. You bust your butt at work over the weekday and on the weekend you just want some nice hot donuts. Their donuts are super fluffy, savory & always flavored to impress. Their staff seem to always have a smile on their face & very insightful on all the menu items. The variety of items make it easily a "one stop shop". If you haven't been to this location, YOU'RE missing out! This bakery definitely gives you those mouth watering cravings. Granny's came to town after I moved out of state, but my oh my do I look forward to their donuts every time I come "home". We love love love this place !!! I absolutely love Granny's Donuts. Old school @ it's finest. Every time I'm driving by Thomasville, it's almost a guaranteed pit stop off the 85. Their fritters are the star of the show. Apple, blueberry, and cherry. Banana cream donuts and buttermilk bars are a must for the assorted dozen box. The owner is awesome and I love her energy every time I visit. You know this is an old school style shop when they throw you extra donut holes and glazed sticks as you're checking out. Granny's is a big time donut shop and a true gem of North Carolina. Just as fabulous as the High Point location. My family started going to the library in Thomasville so after going one day with the kids, we decided to hit up this particular granny's. This location is a lot more cozy and comfy; there's more places to set and it's actually really cute inside. All the same delicious baked items at the same price and it was nice to see Tiffany there as I normally would see her in High Point and she started being at the Thomasville location more so it was very nice to see her and catch up. Both locations are fabulous; everybody local he knows that Granny's donuts is one of the best. I would come here and down before any other chain or bakery for donuts. read more

I've always said I ONLY like Krispy Kreme, u n t I l....I had Granny's. OHHHHHH YUM! I was shocked that finally after years, I found another donut that is super delicious! Sometimes they seem a little more greasy than usual, but...considering they ARE deep fried, I can't make that a complaint. I haven't gotten to try everything they have, but the plain donuts are, plain delicious, the filled donut holes...WHAT? I feel like I just went back in time! Beautifully crafted and delicious donuts of every kind, just like 30 years ago! I live far enough away to not risk becoming 500 pounds, but close enough that a trip just to buy a couple dozen of these to eat and share occasionally is well worth it! Today was my first time, shared with coworkers who all raved that these were the best donuts they ever had. I grew up in the land of Dunkin' Donuts and now live in the home of Krispy Kreme. Bought a couple of doughnuts, an apple fritter and a cinnamon roll... and they were delicious!!! The prices are right, the taste is outstanding. I will probably go back before I leave town. The apple fritter was unbelievable. Seriously, the biggest, best tasting fritter I have ever had. I use yelp all the time and have never left a review before. This place is that good. Apple fritters are amazing and the size of my hand (see picture). I got some donut holes also. So glad I did. I couldn't pick a favorite, half of the varieties are filled. All the donuts are good too. Custard filled (aka Boston cream) loved it. Very friendly with good customer service and good coffee. They had options of a raspberry filling, and lemon filling, a vanilla custard filling, and a vanilla cream filling. I am not a fan of cream-filled donuts, but my filled-donut-loving family members seemed to enjoy the raspberry- and vanilla-cream-filled donuts they consumed. All in all, I am thrilled to have this new donut shop so close to our home. It's a fabulous new addition to Wallburg!!! Go give them a try!

They have a grill area where they cook, which is fine, but there is no hood/ventilation and so when they grill anything, the smoke just goes out into the restaurant. The four of us who ate there smelled like bacon smoke the entire afternoon. Will continue to eat from here, just maybe not inside until the ventilation sees an improvement.
