I've had to use these guys twice now unfortunately, because let's be honest, nobody calls for help when things are going great. But both times, they've been absolute lifesavers. Doodyman tried to con me into a $6000 job. Another company saved me from making that mistake. I had a clog between my trap and the main sewer line in the street. I called Doodyman and they came out. It was $150 to snake it out. They snaked the line out to 27 feet then said they couldn't get any further. They went outside and measured out from where the trap was and showed me that the problem was out near my sidewalk so it would be my problem, not the towns. They told me they could run a camera down the line to see what's up for an extra $350. I said that's a lot. They called the office and said they would do the camera for $250. After running the camera they told me that I had a collapsed pipe. They told me if I wanted to use them it would be about $4000 to replace just that section of pipe or $6000 to replace the trap and all the pipe to the street. I said I'd get back to them about that. I paid the $400 that I owed them for their "attempt" to snake and run the camera. I wanted to get a second opinion. I would put their name here but I don't want to be accused of being a fake review trying to promote a competitor. They arrived and as they were snaking asked me, how far until Doodyman had problems?. I told them 27 feet. His response was I'm already at 32 feet without a problem. He got to 48 feet before hitting resistance. He pulled the snake back and removed some roots from the end of the snake. He ran it down the line again and got to 53 feet which was in the sewer line in the middle of the street. It was $250 for that snaking that actually worked. When I asked him what the cost would be to do a full line replacement, had I actually had a problem, he said about $4300. This leaves me with one of three conclusions: The Doodyman employees they sent out were incompetent. The equipment Doodyman uses is subpar and unable to do the job. They were trying to con me into a much bigger job that I didn't need. I went to the Doodyman office in Elmont to request a refund of the $400 dollars I paid. The woman I spoke with said they needed to talk to the foreman of the job and review the camera footage and call me back before the end of the day. They did not. I called again 5 days later. They said they still had not reviewed the footage with the foreman. BS. So my best advice I have for you is to avoid Doodyman. read more

I called this plumbing company because I had an issue with my toilet flushing. I called early in the morning and they were at my house in 2 hours. My plumber Lauro was so kind and did a phenomenal job, he was so kind and explained everything in a way that I understood. My toilet is now fixed and working perfectly. Horrible experience!! The guy they sent was rude and inappropriate. He commented a few times about my mother not speaking English, then he went on to say I need clean up all the feces he left after he was finished. He made crude remarks and left my house and stairs with drops of feces. When I asked him who's supposed to clean it, he said "you can clean it, you should get used it, it's life". He charged $1500 claiming that our pump was broken which wasn't, but since we don't know plumbing and need it fixed, he just ripped us off. Our water line was corroded and leaking water up onto the sidewalk. They came and fixed it. Their guys were very professional very neat and clean with the work cleaned up afterwards and everything. I called at 11:07 AM for an issue with my kitchen sink and Augusto was in my house and working before noon. He was very efficient and explained everything he was doing and why. He spent two minutes snaking the hose to my washing machine. It still leaked water when it drained so he said I needed a new trap under the house. Two hours of work cost $75 for the snake ( already done for just two minutes snaking work) and the trap ($1,865). After the trap was installed the hose leaked just as much. His workman said, " we need to snake it". This time they spent fifteen minutes snaking it, then it worked. But the REAL PROBLEM was the Price. I just got a call from a competitor who said BOTH the snake AND the trap cost a total $350. That means I spent $1,115 too much. We used this company about 25 years ago and they were able to seal a crack in our sewer pipe. I recently have been having problems with my sewer line and they came and assessed the situation and were back the next day to dig up and fix my sewer pipe. Since 02/20/20 the company has been delaying the estimate to the sewer insurance company for the price of the repair of collapsed sewer pipe, the goal would be the increase the price and make me pay anything just to restore the sewer line. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY but unfortunately I am stuck because company is the only one the sewer insurance works with in Nassau county. The sewer line alongside my house had a dip in it and we experienced 2 events of sewage backing up and entering the basement. We needed it to be replaced before it might COLLAPSE. The guys from Doodyman to the Rescue did just that! And at a much better price than the other estimate we had gotten. Expertly and quickly, they got the job done in a day! They first had to remove a concrete walkway above the pipe and remove a fence and all the hedges that were also growing above the pipe. They were kind enough to even salvage my hostas plants for me. plumber Paul or Phil, unsure which at the moment, broke a lenox momento in our house. First he tried to clean the pipes and ended up breaking our toilet. The landlord was there and your worker paid for the new toilet and rightfully so but first tried to argue that he could not replace it at that time because he had other jobs. Thankfully he did, because a customer shouldnt be responsible for his incompetence. When he went to place the shelving system back above the toilet he did not move any of the items off of it first as was requested. He was made aware of the fragile nature of some of the items but did so anyway in front of our landlord and broke our lenox towel bowl. When he was approached with this he admitted he broke it but said he would not replace it, he has no insurance and he already lost money because he paid for a new toilet...... Excuse me? He screwed up and broke items and is now complaining that he has to make good and replace them because he cant do his job correctly? This is unacceptable.... That lenox dish was given to my wife and I by her mother as a house warming gift......she passed away 2 weeks ago......so you can see how much of a sentimental value this has especially to my wife. The item is now only available overseas and would have to be shipped from the UK......i have tried looking everywhere and even contacted lenox about the item and was told they no longer make it. The item with shipping comes out to roughly $80 after converting it from pounds Management said sorry but we are not responsible. Guy came in, removed the sewer cleanout plugs to assess why our basement toilet was backing up. He looked at the way the water was flowing and said it is a septic or cesspool issue. He did not attempt to snake the pipes, but he charged as if he did. We asked if he was sure, he said 100%. He wanted to recommend his own cesspool guys but they were more expensive than others we had used in the past, so we said no. We paid to pump cesspool. Toilet still backing up. One thing leads to another, and we end up putting in new cesspools. Toilet still backing up! It turns out the guy that originally came from Doodyman was totally wrong about the existing issue. If he had simply done his job and snaked the drains along the toilet wall area, we would have saved eleven thousand dollars. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. On October 28, my landlord hired Doodyman to the Rescue to do routine maintenance. The individual who performed the work managed to break the toilet while running a plumbing snake from outside the house. After complaining that replacing the toilet would cause him to be late for other jobs, he eventually agreed to purchase a new toilet and install it. Unfortunately, despite being told to move a glass bowl from the shelf above the toilet, he did not do so and, not surprisingly given the quality of his work, broke the bowl which had been a gift from my mother who passed away two weeks ago. The replacement cost would be $80, which "Management" has refused to cover. So much for the 100% satisfaction guarantee. read more

Their ad indicates $75 to snake any sewer including a warranty. When they showed they said I would have to pay $225. I negotiated to $175. They snaked it out and then told me I would need a power wash and a camera put into the sewer and it would cost $100. I refused and paid them and did not get even a day's warranty. Took them to small claims court and won but have not yet been paid. They may be good for "preventative work" but do not call them when its an emergency. read more

I needed to get the sewer drain cleaned. The advertised price is $75 and that's what I was quoted on the phone. The guy (Paul) gets here starts with the small snake and then switches to the larger snake but the PRICE OVER TRIPLED. Now he wanted $250. I've had the same experience where a company would start with the small snake and then graduate to the large snake but price never tripled!! I tried to call the office to verify the price but the person in the office wouldn't tell me a price without speaking to Paul first. I specifically told what machine was being used, as he said he needed this information but still couldn't get a price. This just tells me that the company just tries to get whatever they can from the customer with NO SET PRICES. Save yourself the headache and use another company. read more

When the plumber came in, he said that the problem is bigger then he thought and it would cost me $500 to fix.When I asked if $500 is the final price, he said that he is not sure, and asked for $100 for coming in. We have used this company twice and we will never use again. First time we had a very nice guy came in did the job and left. Today we called to have someone come over to our business. The guy comes over, first he asks me how much we paid last time. I tell him I don't know the other manager handled it. He then explains to me its gonna be much more money. This is without him even knowing how much I spent the last time. After 15 minutes says he's finish. My assistant called in the payment and he left. I proceed to walk over to my desk only to see SHIT sprayed everywhere. On my desk, in the keyboard, on the walls, all over my pictures, all over my important documents and all over the computers. As he's yelling at me in my place of employment, I explained to him he ruined my pictures. He starts yelling at me show me as if he didn't believe me. I then asked him to leave because he was making a scene in front of our clients. As he walked out the door he said shut up you stupid Bi*ch. I have never been so disrespected in my life.
