It's a pleasure to go to Dooney's, which we've been doing on a regular basis lately. Great pub atmosphere, always greeted nicely at the door, good bar and very good bartenders (particularly Lauren and Gabby). The food is pretty good for bar food; the bread used for sandwiches is excellent. It's great to have a neighborhood place that's not a chain (we refused to frequent them any more). You can see the owners' personal touch everywhere. Would like to see more music earlier in the night, but otherwise, a fun place! read more

We absolutely LOVE Dooney's!!! The food, service & atmosphere...everything is GREAT!!! We've been going there for dinner every weekend for the past month & it never gets old!! Happy hour is from 3pm - 6pm with great appetizer & drink specials!! We can't wait until the weather gets nice enough to sit outside on the patio. I feel that giving it 1 star would be a compliment, but we have to a least gie it to them or it wont post. Server was ok, the food on the other hand was not worth even half the price. Protions were small and very greasey, as well as being served stale food. I would never recommend this even to an enemy. I am a chef and I have been waiting for this place to open beut it would be more beneficial as a a consumer to go to a fast food joint before even thinking about trying them! read more

We went to Dooney's last Wednesday night to get something for dinner. We where greeted promptly and seated. The waitress came over quickly to take our order. After deciding we placed an order for an appetizer and a couple of beers. When the beers came we order hot sandwiches. We thought it was taking rather long to get the appetizer and we were right. Our sandwiches came before the appetizer. We already started eating and told the waitress we did not want the appetizer now and will not pay for it. We both ordered Reuben's. The most skimpy sandwiches I every saw. Little amount of corned beef, dap of dressing and I think there was some kraut but very little. But we ate anyhow. The manager came over to apologize for the late appetizer and offered to comp us a round of beers and would take the charge for the appetizer off the bill. When the bill came we did get the free beers but was charged for the appetizer. We called the waitress over and called her attention to the charge and she promptly took the bill to the manager to have the bill adjusted. It was without incident. The waitress was super. She did everything right. The manager could have handled the situation better but it was resolved. I wish I took a picture of this meager sandwich but if that's the best this place can do I'm not going back and tell my friends the same. And the potato chips that was served with the sandwich where the crumps of the bag. read more

We come here often and have always had good service and food. Tonight I ordered one of the specials, pulled pork flatbread but asked if it could be prepared without onions. Unfortunately that didn't happen and I pointed this out to the server. She was very apologetic and had the kitchen prepare it again. Shortly after the correct meal arrived, the manager came over to apologize. Everyone makes mistakes, but how you handle them is the difference. Dooney's reaction impressed me and they adjusted the bill. Plus the meal was fantastic! read more

Not being from the area I looked on yelp for a place to eat lunch. I found this place and decided that while it was very much out of my way I would give it a chance since the reviews were overwhelmingly "ok". When I arrived there was no one to be seen except one couple eating lunch. I stood around for a few minutes waiting, thinking "hey, it's lunch time, someone must be at the hostess stand." When no one appeared I walked towards the kitchen and found the staff hanging around talking and playing on their phones. They said sit where ever I wanted and they would be over.... I was rather surprised that this is what I found in a place with positive reviews during lunch time. I ordered a steak salad and was disappointed that I had to cut a significant amount of fat and gristle off of the steak. For a $13+ salad this is not what I expected. I'm getting straight to the point because of how surprised I was with my experience. To the credit if my server, the service was good once I was seated. My nearly $3 soda was delivered. I have to presume that this is a great spot for dinner and bar drinks as that is what many people reference. However, it's possible that today was an off day. read more

We live right in Delran and find ourselves frequenting here very often. Great place, friendly staff and good food! When it first opened it wasn't as good as it is now, thank goodness the menu has changed a few times and has become more "bar oriented food" instead of strictly an Irish menu. read more

Went on a Saturday night; and it was busy, but we did not have to wait for a booth; our timing was good, since the hostess said they were really packed earlier. Service was excellent; food was very good: we enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the shepherd's pie. Only complaint was that it was VERY noisy. Could hardly hear my husband talking to me from across the table. It's the open ceiling, maybe? Next time, we will sit outside. 2 dinners (without alcohol) was $31. Will go back. read more

We went tonight and tried the wings in the recommended buffalo Garlic sauce, and the wings were very gamey as if they were microwaved. Next I had the hot roast beef sandwich which was so cold it didn't melt the provolone underneath... And my friend had the chef salad that was so so... Our bill came to $34.19. Really, really enjoy this place, and love that they have live music from time to time. My favorite meal is the Thai Shrimp Wrap - not too spicy, and not too much sauce. Served with homemade chips and it's my go-to meal each time I visit. Definitely recommend!!!! read more

This was the first time we went. they told us the wait would be 20 minutes. it was only about 15. there was almost no place to wait. The food was good, but it took 1hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive. There were people who were seated after us who had eaten and were leaving before we were served. Monday night was the third and last visit for this establishment for my family and I. My son who is somewhat of a connoisseur on Buffalo chicken and he couldn't finish it because part of the chicken was so hard he couldn't chew it. My husband and I ordered buffalo spring rolls as an appetizer for $8.95. Awful!!!! Spring roll is light and crispy and the chicken if that's what it was, had no flavor. Very disappointing. We did have the blackened fish tacos which were good. The waitress was friendly but unfortunately the food quality was not. Maybe that could explain the empty tables!!! read more

Let me preface by saying had tried to go to another place earlier-Red Eagle-ugh-turned away as they don't accept restaurant.com gift certificates...which turned out to be a good thing, as we drove up 130 and happened upon Dooney's. On the outside it's not fancy-in a strip mall at 130 and Hartford Rd, but it's very clean and welcoming inside. The waitstaff kidded around/interacted w/ our kids. We were a party of 4 (2 adults and 2 tweens). We were seated immediately.The place was jumping-Sat night ~ 6:30 and before a big Eagles game. Dooney's has a nice beer selection, a nice menu to choose from and ~ 7-8 choices on the kids menu. Hubby had wings and various apps and were "good". Kids demolished their chs burger sliders/fries and chicken tenders/fries. I had a seasonal Sam's ? Merry Ale? Almost a Guinness-like quality and the Guinness Irish beef stew-served w/ a roll and mashed potatoes. It was awesome-the beef was plentiful and melt in your mouth good. It had plenty of veggies as well. The kids (and I) had some ice cream/brownie dessert, which even satisfied my dgt- the chocoholic. It was one of the very few times she couldn't finish all of her dessert :). I'm glad the coupon thing at the other place didn't work out :) We'll be back. read more

This is the 3rd time we've eaten at Dooney's since moving into the area. Let me just say that be warned if you ever order take out from here. 3 times in a row they have messed up our order (after having the order taker repeat our order back each time). My fault for not checking the food at pickup but come on already! Food quality is average. Fish tacos had one tiny piece of tilapia in a tortilla filled with only cabbage! I contacted the manager "Honey" and she tried to justify their known issues with take out blaming the miscommunication from the cooks and the front of the restaurant. I was like, not my problem, what can you do to make this right? They also forget two sides that we paid for. Honey offered to give us a giftcard for a future sure to be mistakes order at Dooney's! I'll pass! Such a shame about their service as the place is actually nice inside and seems to be a great place to grab a beer and watch a game. Oh well! read more

The manager was extremely insensitive. After finishing the apple spring roll dessert I noticed my throat start to close, we searched for the waitress to ask if it contained nuts (something I know I'm allergic to) and she said she would check with the kitchen. It contained two tree nuts, walnuts and another - I was too worked up with my reaction to remember the second. The manager approached our table shortly after I told the waitress I'm very allergic. I read menus very carefully and check all the ingredients listed but THEY DO NOT LIST NUTS ON THE MENU, one of the top 7 food allergens. The manager then tried to make it seem like it was my fault I ingested the tree nuts. I told her I already took benadryl to which she replied "oh then you should be fine, I have an allergy too" I was not fine and our allergies are not the same. Before I could explain to her the severity of the situation I was throwing up in the bathroom and racing home in time to use my epipen. The manager did not act professionally at all and was extremely disrespectful towards me and my medical emergency. I will not be returning and I will warn others with allergies of the dangers they may face at Dooney's Pub. read more

I've been there twice. The first time wasn't bad. The food was okay (regular nachos were a little boring) and the service was average but overall it was worth a second trip. The second (and last time I will ever go) I went with my two girlfriends and the three of us shared dinner and a few rounds of drinks. As girls so often do, we had a lot of laughs and great converrsation until the manager gave us the biggest insult we have ever had to endure... She came over and apologized because she wasn't sure what to do since she had never done this before... She asked two of us (in front of our third friend) if she was ok to be served again. But the manager was nervous the entire time and didn't tell us she wouldn't serve us... She wanted us to decide since we 'know our friend best'. Our version is that we were our server's last table and we saw her hug her girlfriends "hello" and she clearly wanted to get cut and didn't want to serve us any longer! Less-sober people could have easily told the manager to keep serving and she would have said yes but since we were sober enough to simply be insulted we asked for the check and left! Worst way to handle the situation ever! The server should have asked us to close our tab and start a new one with another server or get drinks from the bar. And the manager should have observed us and the situation using her own eyes and made her own judgement. Then if she felt we looked intoxicated, no problem. But it never happened! I went sat night with a couple friends. The place was nice but didn't feel like a Irish Pub. They need to work on that. I like that they have tv's at some of the booth's. Will have to try that next time. As for the food.....I had roast beef club. The roast beef was really good BUT the tomato they used was green & barley lettuce or mayo. I liked the home made chips although they were slightly over cooked. One friend liked her pulled bbq pork & my other friend got dooney's nacho's (used waffle fries instead of nacho's). She said it was just ok....skimpy on the toppings. French onion soup was very good. I wanted to try the shepards pie but that was priced at $15, which seems rather high. Now I see from other review that it wasn't that good. Being a Irish Pub.....shepards pie should rock! The food prices are very pricey for what you get since the are skimpy. I mean, I didn't even get my pickle that came w my club sandwich....! Our waittress was nice & on point. I will give it a 2nd chance AFTER they have a chance to improve. Which they better if they want to make it cause our $$$$ these days is to tight to waste on a place isn't doing it right! Improve atmosphere to a Irish Pub & improve the quality of the food. If a tomato is still green......DON'T USE IT! Someone needs to work on quality control in that kitchen. read more
