Honestly, I couldn't be more satisfied with my 1st Door Pros experience. Absolutely top quality service and super quick response. Five stars all the way. I went to open my garage door to leave for work this morning only to find that the door wouldn't open. I tried all of the basic tricks but it wouldn't budge. I do want a lot of people do, watch Youtube videos for solutions. Within the first few videos, I quickly realized the issue with my door. The tension spring had busted. That's when I started checking Yelp reviews and making calls to garage door repair services. The only company that answered the phone this morning at 8:03 am was Door Pros. Within a few moments of talking with them, I felt they were the real deal. Better still, they were able to get someone out to my house by 11am. Amazing. The prices they quoted were reasonable (more about that in a minute). I booked the appointment and at 11:02am, Ryan from Door Pros was knocking at my front door. Ryan is a true professional. He quickly assessed the problem with the door which did turnout to be the tension spring. I also inquired about a new garage door opener unit. Since he was already here for the service, I decided to have him replace that as well with a new unit that included a battery backup. Within 2 hours, Ryan had replaced the tension springs and replaced the opener unit. It now all works perfectly, far better than what we had. Ryan did a exceptional job, leaving no mess behind. It was just outstanding and I absolutely love the new opener. The good folks at Door Pros, from what I found out while I was waiting, is that the only send out people that are truly experienced in this field. Ryan has years of professional installation service under his belt. I would not only recommend Door Pros, but I would specifically ask for Ryan. About the other local businesses that do the same work. I only heard back from one other company, hours later after I called them this morning. The guy's quote was far, far higher than what Door Pros quoted for the tension spring replacement, in addition to higher per-hour labor cost. I made the right decision by going with Door Pros. Working with Door Pros was a terrible experience. I needed to replace my garage door and they gave me a quote of 6-8 weeks for the door to arrive. It took more like 16 weeks, which was disappointing, but what really bothered me was their lack of professionalism in keeping me posted on the timing. I literally called every week for 8 weeks and every time they said "the project manager will call you back"... but they never did. Eventually I had to get my landlord to get their attention by mentioning he runs a construction company that does lots of business with them - and suddenly they made time to come out and install the new garage door. So obviously they were just ignoring me because they were prioritizing other customers. The door was installed reasonably well, but they failed to mention or replace a gasket and now they're back to ignoring us. read more

After waiting 5 full months for my nearly $10,000 garage door, they installed a door with (beyond) poor quality. Look at my pictures. Are you kidding me? The communication throughout was terrible, starting with the Owner Josh who never follow through on what he committed to when we spoke. Instead, he passed me off to Ahsan and Laura, neither of which communicated timely. Then, the Installer first told me (within 15 minutes of arrival) that there was no way the door could be installed due to measurement issues. 30 minutes later he changed his mind and was able to install the door. When the Installer told me hours later that he was finished, there were not fewer than 30 stain issues, chips, dings, unfilled nail holes, poor caulking around windows, and on and on. When I questioned the Installer he told me this was common to see imperfections, nail holes, and some scratches. What? I could not believe what he was telling me!! Again, look at my pictures. And, each window pane had either a chip, bubble, scratch, embedded splatter, embedded blue tape, and poor quality. How did this door pass their Quality Control department? They clearly do not have one. In closing, 2 days after install, on 7/28 Ahsan asked me to send him pictures, which I did right away. He then left me a voicemail message and said "the door is definitely not acceptable." Yet, they won't discount the door whatsoever, so it looks as if I'll need help from my credit card company. Their technicians are responsive and the garage door that is partially installed is okay but this review is about the lack of communication OVER 14 MONTHS to get a garage door just partially installed. No exaggeration - we paid for the deposit on the garage door in 1/2021 with the promise of a few months and as of 3/2022, we're still waiting on pieces of the garage door to be installed. What has made this process so extremely painful is that the customer service has required us to email them to ask again and again and again for them to provide us with any timeframe to expect this to be completed. They usually don't respond at all or only provide partial responses. I would be less frustrated if there was clear communication but there has been none and the process has required we drive them to do their job. The garage door that was installed had an oil handprint on it, which the technician noticed and tried to remove (with degreaser I'm assuming) and it removed some of the stain from the wood and didn't completely clean the grease handprint. Not extremely noticeable but somewhat noticeable. Very disappointing all around. read more

Be ware! Do NOT buy a garage door from Door Pros!!! I have been a loyal customer for over 16 years. When it was time to purchase my new garage door, I thought things would be easy. No such luck! I purchased my door in February 2024. I scheduled 4 appointments for installation that all got canceled, because the door wasn't ready. More likely they never actually ordered the door. The door was not installed until July 2024, with an extremely poor paint job. The inserts for the glass windows were painted so thickly that they don't fit in the glass panels plus the door itself was installed incorrectly. I have now scheduled 3 more appointments to fix the installation of the door and replace the inserts. No one shows up, no one calls, the schedulers say things are in stock but they are not. I am now clocking 8 days I've taken off work to get the door fixed. I wish I would have listened to the other reviews on this and purchased from Home Depot!!! This is the worst service I've ever received, I'm being lied to and blown off. I would give Door Pro's a 0 star if yelp would let me. So here we are in September and I'm still ignored. If you are looking for maintenance, all of the technicians have been great, just done purchase a door from them. read more

So the spring on our garage door snapped after 12 plus years. We called the office on a Sunday (closed) but got an immediate reply first thing the next morning. I will start with the positives. They were easy to get ahold of, polite, and quick to get us a same day appointment. Communication from the work site was also good. From there we were mostly disappointed. We called for a diagnostic visit for the garage door opener at our rental property in San Rafael. We live over an hour away and couldn't get to the property to help our tenant with her garage door that would not close. We needed someone out there fast as I felt a stuck open garage door was a safety issue for our tenant. They did great getting a tech out to the property the same day I called. The tech called me shortly after arrival and after he apparently examined the unit. He recommended that we install new tracks because they are installed in a slightly non traditional manner (and have been for 20 years) and said that the motor sounded rough (which it also always has). So we decided to make the drive out to the property and confirm that the unit was in fact, faulty. Within 5 minutes of arrival, we found that the entire reason the garage would not close was due to a bad contact on the door remote. Cleaning the contact and stabilizing the button fixed the issue until we can replace the remote (which will cost under $20). So just a word of caution to proceed carefully because we could have just spend an unnecessary $2,000+ on replacements that were not needed. read more

READ BEFORE PAYING THEM A SINGLE CENT: This place is a scam. I don't usually write reviews unless I love my experience with a company. This is the opposite and I feel entirely taken advantage of. Really wish I had come here before posting the deposit. In line with others' reviews, the quote process was fine but should have been a red flag. Called in January. Had to chase 3 times but recieved it within two months. Called and left a couple of messages and sent emails. The price was reasonable (or so we thought). We paid the deposit (thousands of dollars) required to secure our door. In March, they said to expect the door in 6-8 weeks. Heard nothing month after month, even though I called and left messages and sent our project manager emails. If I reached a actual person by phone, they said our project manager would call me back. She never did. I reached her once and she promised to call me back with an update bc she had to check with the manufacturer. Guess what? No call back. By end of July after sending a stern email to management I recieved an update to expect our door in September. September comes and I check in as we need to plan to clear out the garage for the project. They update the time line that they're expecting the door in October. It's October and I haven't heard from them, as I'm anticipating another wall of silence and a new timeline for December. It's October now and I fear that we won't get a door or our money back. I've contacted the BBB. If they truly have this much of a back log, then they shouldn't take new orders. I've never had to wait nearly a year from a supplier and they don't even try to communicate with you/offer any service. Shady. I also feel badly because I recommended them to two other neighbors that had the same experience. I highly recommend Door Pros. This review is long overdue. I have been using Door Pros for years. In the past, Jim from Door Pros has come out to fix my automatic gate. He was efficient in being able to diagnose and repair the issue that my prior gate motor was having. About a year and a half ago or so, it was time for me to upgrade the motor arms. I called Door Pros. Jim did this work too. He was extremely knowledgeable about what some motor options and helped me get the right new motors for my gate that would best suit my needs. I have been so happy with all of this work! My "new" gate works a lot better than my last one and I have battery backup now so even if the power goes out, my gate still works. I called Door Pros again when I had issues with my large garage door. Jim came out and helped me with my immediate problem, and he gave me an estimate at my request to replace the motor of my garage door with one that has battery backup and to automate my small garage door at the same time. Zane came out and did the work. Zane was punctual, hard working, and did an excellent job. Even better, he cleaned up all of the debris and dust after he completed his work! (Not all contractors and repair techs do this; it just speaks to the level of quality and commitment to great work that I get every time with Door Pros). After Zane installed the new garage door motors for me, I needed an electrician to come out to finish some different work in my garage. The electrician complimented Door Pros' work. Finally, I just had Ryan out to replace the weatherseal on my large garage door that got damaged. Ryan was punctual (my normal experience with Door Pros!) and was able to get the right weatherseal replaced in no time. Super efficient and quality work. I will not use any other company other than Door Pros for my garage door and automatic gate needs. All of their employees (Jim, Zane, and Ryan) who have come out to do work at my house are great. They consistently are punctual (and I always get a call when they are 20-30 mins away), very knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. Also, they all are genuinely nice people. Pricing always is reasonable and fair, too. AND I never have any hidden costs or fees being tacked on at the end of a job. The guys who handle the phones (including Glenn) also are great -- they answer their phones, are responsive (including with returning messages promptly!) and follow through as promised. I ordered a custom $12k garage door in December 2022, put 50% down and was told delivery would take place in April 2023. During the wait period, no one contacted me or informed me of any changes to my order. Once May arrived, I reached out due to my concerns around the lack of communication, coupled with the missed deadline. No one responded. I reached out a second time and after being passed around by customer service I was told my order was pushed to July. This resulted in a delay of my final inspection with my building division and additional out of pocket costs. Unfortunately our experience is mirroring others here, in our case the garage was originally scheduled to be 16 to 18 weeks (!). We are at 24 weeks now/6 months and after reaching out I'm finding why others are so frustrated. The project manager keeps promising to schedule an install, I'll get a call etc - nothing. And then silence, it really lacks integrity to do this imo. I get the supply chain problems as well but keep the communication channels open, let us know what is going on. And worse, having to schedule around remodelers to prepare for the garage (concrete work). It throws off everything. Super frustrating. Just have to shout out to Bayron and Abe from Door Pros. They did a fantastic job!! We'd suffered a terrible experience of 6 months of waiting with Home Depot, and a subpar "installer company". So due to good yelp reviews, we called Door Pros. They were able to obtain the exact door we'd wanted in a far more timely manner. When I left for my hospital job - during this COVID-19 totally weird time, I left gloves, masks and a dispenser of antibacterial hand sanitizer. My wife later told me they were appreciative and used careful, strict precautions. She said they were minimally intrusive, and worked hard. It took a while to remove the ancient assembly of 1970, but now that all that is gone we are over the moon with how great it looks. The garage was left spotless, and the door is SO QUIET. Besides these two excellent craftsmen, the support staff on phone were timely, friendly, and responsive. This company rocks, and there's a rumor they're opening an East Bay branch too. Order placed in July of 2021 for a 15x7 garage door with 50% deposit placed (roughly $7k). Original estimate was for 8 weeks. I reached out end of September as I had not heard back at all. A few weeks go by and all I hear is that they'll get back to me with a schedule. Finally at the end of October, I'm told that the ETA was mid January. Mid January passes by and sadly, silence again so I contacted them. I finally hear back end of January and they're still trying to get a schedule. Another few weeks go by and now door is supposed to be delivered on Wednesday 2/10. Of course, no news again on Wednesday. I'm over 50 emails now trying to get a schedule, and have had enough at this point and just looking for a refund. I fully understand that supply chain issues are often inevitable, but the lack of transparency and care for the customer is beyond apprehensible. I should've listened to my next door neighbor that also had a poor experience with Door Pros. read more

The installers did well, though they didn't come back as promised to remove the other half of the hanger that had to be removed from the garage ceiling... I was waiting for that to write this review which is why it's so late. I've gotten used to it and with the windows focus more on the positive light than the ceiling. The doors were installed pre-pandemic... I didn't call back to remind them about the hanger, so accept fault there. Door Pros were the only group that was willing and able to help me design doors to give my pups a window for my garage office while providing some privacy where needed. I never actually write reviews for places but my frustration has boiled to the point where I need to say something. Door pro's are super nice folks, but the absolutely do not communicate well. I ordered a new garage door to replace one that broke after someone in my household ran into it with a roof rack on the first week of november. Its now almost april, and I have no idea when my door is going to get here or be installed. I've called a couple of times and talked to perfectly pleasant folks who promised to call back, but never did.
