What a little gem! The food is delicious and fresh. Everything we had was well seasoned and there's great attention to detail. We went there twice in a weekend and already look forward to the next time we're in Ashland.

It took us a while, but we finally made it to Doragon Eatery in Ashland. Open for about eight years now, this cozy spot delivers great service & an inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. Everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh, with many ingredients locally sourced--a detail you can really taste. We started with their house-made raspberry & passion fruit soda, which was refreshing & perfectly balanced. Next came the handmade black garlic pork veggie gyoza & the pork kimchi gyoza, served with a spicy Thai sauce that tied everything together beautifully. We couldn't resist the honey gochujang wings--sweet, spicy, & generously sized. For our main dishes, he ordered the chicken karaage rice bowl that came with a salad & miso soup. The chicken was marinated & breaded just right: crispy, light, & full of flavor. I went with the tonkatsu ramen with ground pork & pork belly, & it may be the best ramen I've had. The broth was rich, savory, & deeply satisfying. You can truly feel the love behind the food at Doragon Eatery. Run by Chef Pepsi & Chef Alan, this is a place that puts heart into every dish--& one we genuinely appreciate.

My boyfriend and I have tried this place a few times, the last time being one of the worst takeout experiences since living here. However, we decided to try it again as our dine-in experience was better. Food - We ordered the pork and kimchi gyoza which were pretty good, a little kick from the kimchi which was nice but not overpowering. I think me and my boyfriend can agree these gyozas are handmade and probably the best around for a ramen joint. Next comes the tonkotsu which we both got, the broth is great, but the green veggie salad on top kinda ruins the broth. The green stuff is spicy and changes the entire taste of the original broth which I think is better than when the green stuff invades it. The eggs are perfect, but no soy flavor/marinated. The noodles are also great and seem to be homemade or just a better noodle than most joints in the area as well. We also ordered chicken katsu on the side which they nailed both times we dined in. Service - it's quick, but not a lot of interactions Ambiance - small place, about 6-7 tables, so make sure you don't bring too large of a party to this place as it is cramped. My reasoning for a 4 star review was our past take-out experience. Both my bf and I got sick from the food and it was a totally different broth/experience we had when we ordered take out. We literally didn't come back here for MONTHS because of it. However being generous with our recent visit we think this place competes well with some of our other favorite ramen spots, but it is not our favorite favorite! So I guess words of advice, better for dine in, not for take out

My favorite ramen. The gyoza is so good, freshly made. The hellfire tonkatsu w/ chicken katsu is in my opinion the best order ever but very spicy, I only get level 0 and it is still very spicy.

small but cozy spot i decided to try while being in framingham their music choice reminds me of eating at family gatherings they have a ton of options for ramen -- including add ons or noodle substitutes. i got the thai shrimp and crab dumplings (not photographed) & they are sure fresh! my bowl (Tonkotsu Broth) was super rich but not as spicy as i thought it was going to be. it was creamy and pretty flavorful. i chose to replace my noodles with udon and i was very satisfied; im not always in the mood for ramenesque noodles. they did not skimp on the tender juicy pork! i will be thinking about this spot.. boston ramen spots have some competition lol

Dragon Hellfire Ramen - 4/5 - Loved the wavy, extra width kezari noodles they have. Texture is great and laps up the broth on its way into your mouth. I'm a big spice fan so I definitely am impressed with the heat from the chili mixture in the broth. Slow heat definitely very satisfying. The toppings were all good as well. The charsu had the right fat to lean meat ratio to give it a good rounded flavor. They don't char their charsu, which is totally fine since plenty of ramen places don't do that. The egg was well marinated, I could taste the soy and sake flavor profile. Service was fine, was greeted when entering and got water and utensils right off the bat. There is parking in front but spaces would fill up during busy times I imagine. The dining area is small/medium with one bathroom in the back. Around 8 tables I say. Ambiance is good for casual dining with some light japanese themed music play. Bathroom is clean and big (unisex). Overall, will definitely come again to try out the apps and another ramen.

I had dinner here tonight and it was fantastic. The food really taste like it's made with care. I had a couple apps and then I had the tonkatsu noodle. Wow their pork belly is really not much fat shockingly enough. The broth was creamy and rich and it was just put together well. The Goya dumpling should be made with a very thin shell if you will. The server a young kid Named Liam was really good. On time working his butt off pretty much. Always checking in and making sure I was good to go.

Came here with son after a long time ! Same warm and friendly service . It's a small place and they do not take reservations over phone. You need to come in and give your name and wait. Had a veg tempura for starter-kakiage. It was delicious!! Ordered the only two veg broth ramens and both were yumm! We can never finish the portion so boxed the left over to take home . This is a really cool spot to hang out with family and friends ! Local gem !!

Food we got tasted good: wings, ramen, khao soi. My husband also got a spicy ramen. We were trying to find a place that was in between our home and the Southwick zoo. It was a rainy day so a place with soup sounded like up our alley. The place is really small so would be best for a small party. I think if we lived in the area we would probably order this to go vs staying in the restaurant. We really enjoyed the wings, not too dry and the flavors were good. Wish the menu was a little simpler(but maybe trying to wrangle two kids, keep down hunger, and figure out menu was maybe a bit much for me). I just want to pick the item and then it all just go through. Instead I had to pick the item, the protein, and then try to figure out if I want side accompaniments. Minor detail though.

The new menu at Doragon is NOT to be missed!!!! Even if this restaurant were a dingy hole in the wall (it is not) I would still come out just for the pork katsu sando, a true paragon of balanced flavors and textures and just a delight in every bite. The expanded menu has great vision and contains imaginative and interesting fusion combinations of tastes. There is something on here for everyone, really. Their ramen, the "old reliable" menu option from when they were previously known as "Doragon Ramen," is not to be overlooked either. The noodles have a perfect chew, and the broth options are full of umami richness. Their desserts are so creamy and delicious, if you can try to leave room for it after the generous portions of your dinner! Service is speedy and efficient and the seating area, while small, is decorated appealingly. Check this place out! It's a new favorite for me, hands-down.

Smallish ramen shop with a little bit of outdoor seating - nice to find a dedicated ramen place outside of the city to satisfy that craving when you don't feel like driving in to Boston. It was nice that they let you customize your proteins for the bowls, and that they provide an extra refill of noodles without charge when dining in! Note that dine in is cash only. Would love to have tried their yuzu broth, however we were told it was out when we went - guess we will have to go back again to try it out :)

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM IN ASHLAND! We had all these dishes for just two people because my boyfriend and I wanted everything on the menu. It's a nice, small but homey space at Doragon. The owner is so nice! The staff were all friendly and always smiling. Patrons who were eating seem to be regulars. We've had two different groups of people recommend dishes for us! Everything we order was just perfect! Can't go wrong! PS BUY THEIR CHILI OILS, it's locally based in MA!

I recently discovered this gem. I have to say that this is the most authentic food I have had in a very long time. The flavors were perfect, the portions were exceptional and the prices were phenomenal. It's clear that they are very understaffed and managing an understaffed restaurant myself I truly understand. That being said the food is the best selling point and worth the wait. Amazing job! Please keep it up! read more

Food here is incredible. I would never had though about having a noodle place in our small town but wow. The food is fresh and darn tasty. Sometimes it takes a little time but that is what it takes for good fresh food and is well worth it. I've been a lot since they opened nothing beats a nice hot bowl of noodles after a long cold day. Their chicken wings ( I've tried most flavors) are all great. They take the extra step and brine the wings( which is not common in the restaurant setting due to the extra time) so the meat is extra juicy. I've tried several of their noodle dishes they are all good. But I usually stick with the yum yum noodle soup. It's a little bit hot and sour with big plump shrimp and two types of pork. I usually get that and some chicken wings for an app and it leaves me pretty full. If I have room left then it's filled with some very good mochi to finish off the meal. The restaurant itself is on the small side seats maybe 30-35 always seems to be fairly busy so I assume I'm not the only one who loves this place. It has a very personal feel. A lot of time one of the owners of the person seating you. I have never been there where the owner himself hasn't come by the table and see how everything is unless it's too busy and he can't get out of the kitchen. They recently revamped the menu and added two new vegetarian broths which is great my wife if vegetarian and not she has a few options for broths. Try this place you won't regret it unless you don't like high quality fresh food. read more

So good! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The quality is great and I apricate how well things are package for takeout. Try the crispy chive dumplings, surprising and delicious! The food was amazingly delicious and it has decent of slightly of an am beef a and corn favor of dishes, The design of a bowl is a great way to have your food. This restaurant also have the best vegetables ramen for someone that is vegetarians, the veggie food was also the best food I've ever had in that restaurant, they have slightly of an veggie noodle, that noodle was amazingly delicious and I was impress by these Raman noodle I've ever had, I have this noodle since 10 year I have eating this every single day and I love, I have no problem with this restaurant at all and this restaurant was the best in town, it's easy to ho and eat there, Also the flavor was decent of an soft meat and slightly blended mix with noodle and stuff, I advise you do eat this noodle place in town right now, there are the best noodle and they have every single noodle you wanted. read more

A small place with an excellent menu. We love ramen with fresh, well made ingredients and a bold broth. NC did not disappoint! It also has friendly waitstaff and two personable and experienced chefs. A must for anyone who likes authentic and tasty Asian dishes. read more

The bok choy in my ramen was not washed and I chipped my tooth on it, I didn't want to be rude to the manager and my tooth really hurt (it was a molar in the back) so I just grabbed my stomach when they asked why I stopped eating. The broth itself wasn't anything exciting as I was really looking forward to this. I make ramen all the time at home and make a really rich broth, this broth seemed watered down and very plain. The worst part was that it was a special going on lobster and my broth tasted... like lobster. I didn't know about the lobster topping as I ran out to my car to grab my wallet (oops) and when I ate and told my friend "my soup tastes fishy does yours?" They agreed and mentioned that seafood was on the specials and maybe it had accidentally gotten into the main broth somehow. Imagine if I had an allergy? It tasted very strongly of seafood, which is my favorite!! I eat it 3-4 times a week. But if I was allergic to shellfish this would have been a problem. The egg I got was made perfectly and I would come back for those as it's difficult to perfect those. Noodles were good. But dirty vegetables and mixed broth is no good read more

I am an "unknown" to this type of food other than the traditional "Chinese" in my lifetime. Driving by "noodle city" many times....had no clue as to what they were selling....it could have been the things we use to have fun in pools. Then...I read the Metrowest news about their opening last fall and decided to try them. Since that time, I have been doing take out at least once a week. I like the Shuman (?) with pork and the other "greens" included along with the Raham noodles. (Alan and Pepsi..please excuse my spelling...I just know what I like to eat!!!) As noted, I was unknown to this type of cuisine but have come to enjoy it weekly. Even the few times I have done "sit in" the food is hot, well prepared and I have no fault with the service as I am able to go at a less popular time then Friday or Saturday evening. The food was great. We got takeout on a weeknight, and it was our first time trying the food. As such, we usually get a variety of food. The shrimp tempura was good, the beef rice bowl was excellent, and the Doragon (spicy) Ramen was delicious.... and spicy! Will definitely go back. read more

This noodle place is very impressive with the quality of their broths and ingredients and I was more than pleasantly surprised to find this place after trying out so many other noodle places all over MA. After discovering this hidden gem, I have been a weekly regular here but for the past three visits, I have not been pleased with the service. First off, I have never been to a noodle restaurant where they charge the customers for extra BROTH- it is $0.50 to add more broth to the noodle bowls here that already come out with 50% less broth than regular noodle bowls at other places. Secondly, in my last visit, my fiancee was ordering her Doragon ramen but when she expressed that she preferred thinner noodles, the waitress assured us that we could get the noodle type swapped with no problem. After the dinner, we received the check and noticed that we were charged an extra $1.00 for the noodles and when we asked, we were informed that they upcharge to substitute noodles which was a surprise to us considering the waitress had not mentioned the charge. While I respect the management's decision in terms of their pricing, I do believe as a loyal customer that I would at least be entitled to be informed of the details instead of being responsible for something I was not aware I signed up for. It does get very hectic in the place due to the popularity of the noodle dishes but I do hope that in the future, I would get more attentive service from the waitresses. read more

Seriously among the best restaurants in the area. I wish could get there more often. The wings are amazing and come in a variety of flavors, I've had a few different ones and each was spectacular. Will have to try more soon. The Ramen, the main draw for most, is also amazing, you will find nothing comparable anywhere else near by. Noodle City was the first ever ramen shop I went to and was ecstatic after coming home raving about it to my parents. A few weeks later my dad wanted to go and try it and I was disappointed... I told the server about my allergy and he just stood there giving me a look of "what am I suppose to do with this information" so that was unsettling. Went back for a third time with a friend and it smelt like hot dookie just an awful stench of bad BM. every time I went there I ordered the same thing and each and every time the ramen was different - no consistency. and the menu chances almost daily? read more

Have dined here before. Food is usually good. My wonderful bowl of noodles arrived. Beautiful. Unfortunately I ordered the gluten free noodles. The kitchen messed up. They offered to remake. The replacement noodles were correct but missing the toppings. The chef offered to remake the dish again. In the end. I ended up paying $20.00 for a bowl of noodles and broth. I feel as though I have been ripped off. read more

Best Ramon I have ever had! My boyfriend and I went to try this spot out and we loved it. We ordered the fried port gyoza, it was crispy and hot and packed with flavor. I ordered the green curry Ramon with duck. It had heat but not over the top, duck was delicious, it melted in my mouth. We also had the chicken Ramon with tempura shrimp and it was delicious. The restaurant is small so be prepared that it may be busy with a little bit of a wait if there is more than 4 people. read more

Been there twice in 2 days, it is excellent! I have tried their Thai Siu Mai dumplings, the Doragon Ramen with the perfect amount of spice for me and my favorite so far their Thai Yum Yum Noodle Soup which I actually added some more garlic chili sauce to it. Fabulous! read more

We love this place. Warms the bones on a dreary day. We have tried most things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The seafood in the Hotate Udon is incredibly fresh. Warning - the Namesake Doragon Ramen IS spicy - my husband literally started sweating while eating it! - but a must if you like spicy food. read more

Amazing ramen!!! The best ramen I ever had was out in LA and this is seriously a close second. Tontaksu (excuse my spelling) Ramen was phenomenal. Ordered delivery during this crazy virus times and they were on time and courteous toward social distancing rules. Alan and his team kick ass!!! Highly recommend. read more

Seems mostly Thai (noodles) and Japanese (ramen), but some Chinese as well, with blurring involved on some of the dishes. Smack Bun: Basically an Asian take on a pulled pork sandwich. Cha-shu pork in a soft bao bun with crunchy vegetables and okonomi sauce very similar to a tangy sweet barbecue sauce. Nice that you can order them individually instead of committing to a set of three or so. Crispy Brussels Sprouts: A small serving with small pieces, lots of batter per piece and fried garlic integrated, but very light and brittle, so not too heavy. Good flavor, aided by the ginger sauce. Just not much sprout here. Crazy Noodle: Very soft flat rice noodles with an assortment of vegetables led by carrot and broccoli, tossed with protein of choice (I went chicken) in a spicy basil sauce that had some light sweetness for balance. Very enjoyable. Promising first visit. Hoping to try more menu items from the different categories to find their strengths.

As for the food itself, I can say it's more on a "cleaner" side vs the extra flavor and oily texture you'd get from a fast food chain. The ramen broth was subtle, the noodle perfect, but the flavor wasn't there. The Chef special roll was way over priced for what you get, especially only having 1 piece being the best out of the "assorted" fish. The hibachi wasn't good in my opinion, good portion though. Would not order that again. The chicken teriyaki flavor was great, chicken texture was more like grilled on a pan vs over flame. Loved the veggies though. The gyoza and takoyaki were good as well as the strawberry mochi icecream. Wish they were more friendly though, making us feel like we were inconvenient for them was a major turn off.

Doragon Ramen Review Eating at Doragon is less "going out to dinner" and more "participating in a live experiment." Step one: determine if it exists today. Doragon appears to follow a business model best described as Schrödinger's restaurant--both open and closed until you physically try the door. Posted hours? That's adorable. Step two: payment roulette. Cash? Card? Interpretive dance? I've seen all outcomes. One guy paid with a credit card like it was Applebee's, the next was basically negotiating terms like he was closing on a house. I now bring three forms of payment and emotional resilience. Step three: the food... which is either transcendent or a cry for help. I'm not exaggerating--one visit it's a 10/10 bowl of ramen that makes you question every other meal you've ever had. The next time, it tastes like the chef lost a bet and had to cook blindfolded. Consistency is not part of the Doragon experience. And yet--I keep going back. Because when Doragon hits, it hits. It's like chasing a culinary high that only appears when the universe is properly aligned. Final verdict: Doragon is chaos. Doragon is confusion. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! If you're looking for the best of the best, Doragon Ramen is the place you're looking for. They use only the finest ingredients and it shows.. you get what you pay for here people. The wings ARE TO DIE FOR.. any flavor really, but the Miso wings are my go to favorite. I also can't go without ordering the Crispy Chive Dumplings and the Takoyaki! I'm a creature of habit so my go to Ramen is the Miso with braised beef, but I have tried a few of the others and haven't found one I didn't like yet. Like I said, you get what you pay for here. If you're looking for cheap top ramen that you can buy at Shaws or Market Basket, this is not the place for you. Also, you probably shouldn't be eating out if you can't afford it.. just saying. Alan and his whole team spend a lot of time in and out of the kitchen making sure they are only using the absolute best products out there. You can also buy some of these products from them directly by checking out their Doragon Provisions store directly behind the restaurant! I mean come on people! Frozen wings , frozen seaweed salad, mediocre service. Milk "tea" is really a "smoothie" that's so powdery I thought I had been teleported into the Sahara. Some guy went to the bathroom (number two you guessed it!) and the entire restaurant stank of bowels throughout my stay. Ordered the Miso Ramen with pork with EXTRA egg, for no egg, but I got the charge at least, got some apps that were frozen as my server confirmed, the plates she brought were greasy the cups had finger marks all over them and the silverware stank of dozens of people's saliva pooled in together! No booze that's cool, I should have hit a McDonald's, servers sprayed down tables with disinfectant right next to me as I ate. Best part about the visit was the candy! Came in just now for a redo but they're closed yesterday and today! What a mess! I will be going in again soon, giving this place one more chance. Let's hope they're are least open.... read more

I came in to Doragon Ramen to dine in with my wife and I for a little date night and was greeted to our nice waiter (kinda tall, tan with straight black hair). He got our order down and didn't wait too long to the food to come to our table and the food was great!! Highly recommend their chicken wings!! But as we were done, my wife notice something off with our waiter. Once the guests leave or when the guests is giving their tips, the waiter never goes to the register to deal the with the tips, he focusing placed it in his pocket and kept continuing working. Come to found out on a picture of the staff on their website, it was actually one of the owners!! I don't know much about how they deal their business but it does seem like that someone is taking advantage with the tips and should be dealt with! read more

I order from this place about once a month and their green coconut curry is to die for! This is the best ramen I've ever had and their spicy options will definitely knock you down a peg if you're cocky like I was! Would recommend to ANYONE! So good, especially with the thick-cut pork. This noodle restaurant would be right at home in Japantown in San Francisco. Lucky fur us inhabitants of Metrowest, it's right in our backyard. The tonkotsu ramen is delicious. The broth is porky and thick, and the noodles are tasty. The portions are generous and the service super friendly. What else can you ask for? read more
