I explore to discover finds like this! Doral Glades Park is a 23 acre park and state of the art environmental center. Ten acres of land for the park was provided by a developer as part of a settlement. The city was able to purchase fifteen additional adjacent acres with funds from a grant from the Florida Communities' Trust (FCT) Florida Forever Program. The Florida Forever Program has enabled communities to preserve over 770,000 acres of lands all over the state for recreation and conservation. The City of Doral invested 10.5 million dollars in the project and after thirteen years of development, the park opened on August 2, 2019. The city designed the park to focus on nature and conservation. By combining a sports facility and a nature center it truly has something for everyone. My favorite part of the park is the board walk and paved nature trail that winds around a 12 acre lake. This part of the park was inspired by the Everglades. Native plants were installed and to provide a natural habitat for the fish and and animals in this ecosystem. There is a pier built over the water so you can get closer to the birds flying in to the lake. Although it was closed, there is a nature enter with interactive exhibits. Displays in the nature center focus on the history of the area, nature, and the City of Doral. The center hopes to teach people how important it is to conserve ecologically valuable areas like the Everglades. Other park amenities include a shaded nature themed playground, open lawn, two tennis courts, sand volleyball court, basketball court, and fishing pier. Outdoor pavilions are available for rental. The city has plans to hold events in the park including a fishing program for veterans. This is the only nature center in north Dade county and it is a wonderful place to experience the outdoors.

They have some new stickers on the bike/walking path around the lake. It's got some fun activities for the kids to encourage jumping, hopping, twirling. The dock still looks closed on the boardwalk but the walk around the lake is so refreshing on a cooler, windy day. You can hear a lot of construction on the far side though. The playground is always a hit and there's always people on the tennis courts. There was a group setting up for a big bbq function with speakers and balloons but the other pavilion is still wrapped off with tape so it's unclear if they are allowing large group functions or not. Just a nice place to have nearby.

This new park is 5-star all around! With a playground for the kids, tennis courts, basketball courts, a huge walking trail with security cameras every 50 feet and safe fences, they've thought of everything! We walked the nature path and it was super clean, and interesting. There's a very nice community room in the center with restrooms that's under cool wood and brick architecture. Lots of parking spots, and staff on site to help with any issues.

Beautiful Park - Great Staff This park is located just north of Northwest 74th street in Doral. Upon arriving, it looks like you're driving into a subdivision as you turn onto NW 99 Ave. Keep going. The park is absolutely beautiful and the staff is outstanding. As soon as you enter you can see that the area is kept very clean. The trashcans were emptied or checked several times that we were there. There is a wonderful nature center with very nice displays, clean bathrooms, helpful staff and a view on the lake to the northeast of the building. If you get time or just want to cool off, I would recommend taking a few minutes and looking at the inside displays. They are some of the best displays that I have seen at any park in the area. The park has tennis courts, a volleyball court, open grass expanse, trails and several pavilions. We used the largest pavilion located right outside the nature center. It had about 6 picnic tables and 2 small grills. The staff was extremely helpful providing some ice and help whenever we needed it. It was a wonderful event thanks to the location and the staff. If you are trying to figure out where to plan an outdoor event in the area you should try this location. It is a great place thanks to great staff.

I really enjoy any chance that I get to come to the Women's Park. It is very low key and has a nice…read moretrail for walking and biking along the center lake. I find it to be very peaceful here. The park also includes a little butterfly garden area. The butterflies are mostly seen during Spring time. Additionally, they have a pavilion to rent for parties and a little playground for the kids. There are also wooden benches alongside the park with bbq racks. If you're in the west Flagler area, check it out! A park dedicated to Women, yay!

I had been wanting to go try out this park with my small dog for a long time. Today, I finally had…read morethe opportunity to take him and check it out. Before making the drive, I saw on the apple maps that it was a "pets welcome" park. Upon arriving at the park I had just began my walk when an old white woman (seemed to be a park employee) advised me that pets were not allowed in the park. She asked if my dog was a service animal and he was not wearing his vest at the time but I let her know he was actively in training and she began to interrogate me on whether I had bags to pick up his poop (which I did and showed her) and let me know that people will complain about him being in the park. During my ONE lap around the park, I was told to leave after we finished one singular lap. I actually had 2 positive interactions with different park visitors acknowledging my dog in a very happy manner. The park employee seemed to be the only one bothered by myself and my dog being there. We were not bothering anybody, we were practicing his training, and instead of harassing me, she should've been focused on all of the duck poop that coats the sidewalk. It is impossible to even walk in a straight line without having to worry about stepping in a fresh puddle of duck poop. She admitted that people bring their dogs to the park all the time, why were we treated so poorly as if we also don't have a right to simply take a walk around the lake? I even attached the picture stated that the park is pet welcoming. This has never happened to us before in any other park regardless of whether there are no pets allowed signs or not.
