We bought a used 2015 Dodge Caravan with just under 6000 miles from Dorian Ford. We asked if it had been in an accident and Kevin Meredith said it didn't. After having it for 3 weeks we finally washed it for the first time, and found that the front bumper was pushed in and was painted. Then there is a foot long deep scratch and dent on the side door on the driver's side. Estimate is almost $2000.00. Dorian said they won't do anything about it. After several washes, the "touch up paint" has come off, and looks horrible now. We can't get any answers from Dorian Ford read more

BUYER BEWARE! I would not send my worst enemy here. Bought an "AS IS" used car here and the next day at a repair shop, found out there was so much patched up damage to the chassis of the car that I had to scrap it and buy another one as it wasn't safe to drive. Called about a car Some guy named Al answered the phone was was very short, rude and down talking the crap out of the car I was interested in never the less I went in anyway to see this vehicle. And spoke with Ronnie who did the same thing down talked the vehicle and it dawned on me that they wanted to save the car for someone else or them selves. I test drove the vehicle when i returned no one met with me seemed like they were deliberately giving me bad customer service. This review is for the Used Car portion. I've leased 2 cars from them and and it was fine. Terrible. Went in to look at an SUV I researched online on an extremely cold day late last month. Was ready to make a purchase if the price was right. Offered a rate and was told, "if you find an Edge for $21K, buy it". So I did, at Suburban Ford in Sterling Heights, $21,465 to be exact. The salesman at Dorian didn't counter, just stacked his papers and shut down. Must've sold a lot of cars in his 30 years to not even counter. Great salesmanship... LEMON ALERT and FUTURE BUYER BEWARE! I bought a 2010 vehicle from Dorian Ford yesterday, 7-28-20. I drove directly home and parked it in the driveway to get some pics of it with my son, who will get the vehicle when he turns 16 shortly. I then pulled it into my garage and noticed a large oil stain where the car had been parked. In the garage I noticed a puddle of pink fluid under the front end, along with new drips of oil from a second location. I spoke with the salesman immediately and the manager said they're not paying for anything. Vehicle was sold as is. I specifically asked before the purchase whether the vehicle had been gone over to look for major problems. I naively thought getting it from a reputable dealer would be safer than a private owner. I should have known something was amiss, when I called on the vehicle before I went to see it. I asked if the tires were good, only to get there and notice the front tires were bald. One of the worst customer service experiences in my life. In June 2016, I turned in a leased fusion and bought a 2014 Ford Taurus Limited with 33K Miles from Dorian Ford. Issues with the car that Dorian refuses to cover: -Tires have flat spots from sitting on their lot ($1000 out of my pocket) -Car was not properly detailed, furthermore, the clear coat had such pitting from water stains I had to pay a professional to basically recondition the paint. Had soap all over the finish that was not washed off and caused damage to the vehicles paint. The interior was dirty ($400 out of my pocket) -After 3000 miles, the brakes need to be replaced. On my dime. This tells me they didn't inspect the car before selling it. ($700 out of my pocket) -After two months of ownership, I received a call from Ford Credit informing me that Dorian Ford did not properly account for my lease turn in cost - and I was responsible for the balance left over. I am still fighting this with Ford credit - as, I turned in my ford lease to a ford dealership - they should be able to figure out how to properly pay off a lease. Overall, the WORST part of the whole experience is the customer service that was portrayed to me: - The used sales manager was the biggest you-know-what I've ever met. when I came back two days after purchasing the car to discuss the tires - not only did he refuse to even ride with me to see how bad the tires were - He essentially told me "this isn't my problem, you bought the car as is (STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND BOUGHT FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP) - I'm not buying you new tires" -My salesman also refused to ride with me to hear these tires that sounded like I was driving a tractor down the freeway -The service department also refused to take a ride with me to listen to these tires (however, they did confirm that the tires did indeed have flat spots from sitting on their sales lot for so long) After having these issues, I looked around and noticed Carolyn Dorian responds to all the bad reviews on here - I reached out to her looking for resolution and have spoken to her numerous times since. While she was much more professional and customer service oriented - she did absolutely nothing to help me. Offers she gave to me: -She'll sell me tires at her cost (I checked her prices against retail prices - they were the same) -She'll mount and balance the tires for me for free (whooooo, a whole $60 fee she'll wave) -She also offered to allow me to purchase a ford extended warranty at her cost. .... As you can see, none of these really helped the issues. Mrs. Dorian continues to just say something along the lines of "well, you got such a good deal on the car - that's why" - never once in the process of buying the car from my salesman - was a single flaw on this car pointed out - however, he did try to change the price of my vehicle three times after we shook on a deal. Overall, what I've learned from this experience is the following: You are NOT a lifelong customer of Dorian Ford, you are a one time sale. Which is quite sad as businesses cannot survive with this philosphy - and as you can see from the other reviews on here - Dorian Ford's business is burning bridges, not selling cars. Mrs. Dorian, don't bother to respond to this review. Your business is a joke - I left my business dealings with Dorian Ford feeling slimy and dirty from your employees and the general customer service atmosphere you embrace at your dealership. Their response is laughable, dishonest, and bad acting. I contacted them and asked for simply this :1)for someone in service to take a ride with me so they could see that the problem was not "fixed" as they stated. And to prove that indeed they didn't do a road test to see if their fix worked after their "repair". And I also wanted them to hear the issue so they might tell me about any SSM's or TSB's that Ford might have been put out that have not been posted by the NHTSA yet . That's all I asked for and the woman said she would relay it to the service department and they would get back to me. I received ZERO phone calls, ZERO emails, ZERO texts. They never attempted to contact me. They are full of it. Horrible customer service period. Go somewhere else anywhere else, because they have no idea what they are doing and never looked at the one thing I wanted looked at THE TRANSMISSION. apparently they don't have a clue what it is or are afraid to even look at one. It is strange that other people had a good experience here, we went twice and it was horrible. We worked with a guy named Paul both, and he was totally arrogant and seemed too good to help us. We went to this dealership recently looking to buy that day, and wanted to make a Ford work. We had a car unexpectedly die close to the holidays, and needed to get one quick before the holidays came (so we had little time to get together as big of a downpayment as we would like, or get a newer car). We spent several hours test driving and checking out different cars at Dorian. During that time, we noticed that several of the cars (which were only a year old) with low mileage, had LOTS of scratches/dings/cigarette burns in the seats. For example, a black ford fiesta hatchback even looked like it had been in an accident, with a very large scrape on the passenger front end. While we were test driving, we noticed a maintenance guy going around with the little "paint pen" and he tried to cover up that scratch (yet, it was still very visible and touchable) while we were testing driving another car. Super shady. During this time, Paul wasn't even engaging with us--we tried to talk to him and he seemed uninterested in answering our questions or giving us the time of day. We found a car that had minimal damage, and tried to make a reasonable offer to start negotiating (considering the damage on the vehicle, KBB/EDMUNDS/NADA pricing and trade in expectations for them), of 2k off the asking (knowing that it would probably go up from here). He refused to even give us a counter offer and we walked off the lot. Fine by us. After looking more, we decided to come back and try to consider another car (we were dumb for repeating the same thing and excepting a different result) -- this time, we only asked for $800 off (just taxes and title). He didn't agree, we said, what about $400 (which was already over our budget for that particular car, which was damaged)? He finally agreed to at least take it to his manager. He came back out and told us he couldn't do it, and then was like, who cares about $400. I laughed, and said, most people who are struggling and who are purchasing a car on a tight budget care a lot about $400, especially at the holidays. He scoffed. This really ticked me off, so insensitive to people's struggles (AND ARROGANT, considering I knew they were making more $ on the deal then they were claiming). We left, I refused to shake his hand. We went across to the Toyota dealership and purchased a Scion xD (in much better condition then the cars we viewed at Dorian, with lower miles) that night, for just a bit more than we would've paid for the car at Dorian (they worked with us and gave us better financing and got our monthly payment down--seeming interested in helping us at least). You know what is worse than a used car salesman that is slimy and pushy? A used car salesman who is arrogant, shady, and won't even give you the time of day (as if your money isn't good there). Don't go here. I will never do it again. And I will tell everyone I know to avoid them as well. read more

This from the service department- after my car had been there ALL day and without a call to update me and my car hadn't even been looked at yet- that I finally called at 3:30. Um, no. Not happy. I've been a Crest Ford customer for 18 years and moved out here so Dorian is closer. I'm gonna have to go back to Crest or find somewhere else if this is how this business works. Carolyn I was in yesterday, July 9. I had appointment to have my car looked at that I made the Monday before Fourth of July. I needed my front passenger tire looked at, and engine rattle, and an oil change. While the technicians looked at the noise and were able to fill up some fluids the other two things did not get done. I was told by Roxanne that having an appointment does not guarantee your car will get looked at. While I appreciate that I was not charged for them looking at that one thing I was disappointed that the tire couldn't get looked at and the oil change did not occur. Not to mention the fact that in my head and appointment means means my car will get looked at and dealt with on the same day. I did not receive any exit paperwork.So I'm assuming that's why you couldn't find me. read more

This is a wonderful dealership and the only Ford dealership I will use. Brandon G. and Mark C. are the reasons that we have purchased all of our vehicles since 2008 here (8 vehicles). They always go above and beyond for us. The service department is very conscientious and we have never had a problem. We will continue to use Dorian and have sent others there, as well. 5/25/18. Again, this dealership has gone above and beyond. Roxanne in service and the sales force of Brandon G. and Mark C. have given my husband and I exemplary service. This is a far superior dealer. I purchased a 2009 Chrysler 300 Touring from the used car department on January 20, 2014. Upon returning to the dealership after the test drive, my husband expressed concern to our salesman, Mike Johnson, about the fact that the windows were fogged up, despite having the heat on. Mike's response was not to worry, the fogging was caused from the carpets having been shampooed. My husband felt the carpets, and they were indeed damp, so my husband accepted this explanation. We went ahead with the purchase, and included the two year warranty with the vehicle for peace of mind. Three weeks later, the windows of my car were still fogging to the point it was difficult to drive on the road, visibility was often limited to the point of being hazardous. Cracking the windows didn't help, nothing made a difference. We called Mike on February 13 and he told us to take the car to a Chrysler dealership and have them examine it and contact the warranty company for authorization. The Chrysler dealership determined that the recirculating door was broken. This meant that the air in the car was constantly recirculating the internal air and not bringing in fresh air to help reduce the moisture. They then contacted the warranty company and was told that this repair was not covered under the warranty. This was extremely upsetting, as they told us that the repair would require them to remove the dashboard, and this would put the cost in excess of $1400. My husband then called Mike at Dorian again to say that we had a problem. He told Mike that we had inquired about this being a problem and that he had promised that it was just the carpets. Mike's immediate response was to say that they are very careful not to promise anything. I will admit that I never heard Mike say the word "promise", but he was very adamant that this would not be a problem once the carpet dried. Mike then had my husband speak to the sales manager, Tony Mckeehn. This is where our experience went from bad to worse. When my husband explained the problem to Tony, his response to my husband was essentially, "You purchased a used vehicle, what do you expect?" He then criticized my husband for only going to the dealership and not taking it somewhere else for an inspection, despite the fact we had taken it to the dealership with the expectation that IF there was an issue, the warranty would cover it. My husband then asked if Tony was saying that he wouldn't do anything to help, and Tony said yes. Tony was rude and unresponsive until my husband said that if he was unwilling to help we would have to contact our attorney to see what they next step would be. Tony immediately said he would speak to his head mechanic and get back with us. The following day, Tony called and said that we could bring the car back and his mechanic would inspect the vehicle and see what he could determine. My husband told him that he would speak with me about it, and that we would call back on Monday. We talked about it, and pretty much decided that we did not want to spend money at Dorian getting the car repaired, that they would probably opt for a patch fix. This situation has left a bad taste in our mouth for Dorian Ford. Even if I allow that Dorian may truly have thought the fogging was caused by the carpets, their immediate response of denial and "not our problem" mentality is not the type of service that we look for in a dealership. I emailed Carolyn Dorian on 2/24/2014 and have not received a response as of today. read more

I am very happy and i really love each and every one of these guys.. I have no words to describe the service department at Dorian Ford. My 17 focus had a recall and most places told me a 10 days up to a month. When i walked into Dorian i sat down with Shawn the manager and he was really knowledgeable and willing to help me anyhow. He told me up to a week but might be faster. My car was done in 2 HOURS! You wont even get an oil change that fast other places let alone a whole fuel tank change. I went back in to drop it again due to some issues an Shawn and Roxanne my advisor and all the staff from the lady that picked up my car all the way to the guy that handed my rental deserve a raise or something ! I cant describe how grateful i am to these guys !! Much love to service guys backstage as well who do an amazing job. Too bad there is not a zero star rating. The service department at this dealership was a recent nightmare. For routine service it took 11 days due in part to "the brake man" being on vacation. Eventually I was given a loaner. I was overcharged and charged for "diagnostics" I never authorized. The topper was getting a filthy car back with greasy handprints on the steering wheel. The service rep only called once several days into the ordeal to try and sell me on even more work that was unnecessary. I always get post-work surveys from Ford - but not this time! I've had to many bad experiences with Dorian ford service department and I'm so beyond upset with today's issue. I've had to take my car back multiple times for the seatbelt retractor breaking and this is where my son sits so this is a must fix issue and I keep having to take it back because it keeps breaking! The first time I went in Roxanne told me she would give me a rental at no charge then when I picked up my vehicle they tried to charge me $76 when I had the vehicle for less than 24 hours. The people at the checkout had no idea what was going on and I had to wait an extra 20 mins for them to figure out I was a no charge customer! Then today I go to pick up my vehicle once again after they finished fixing the broken seatbelt and they proceed to tell me that there's a dent in the hood. I did not cause this damage and it's so minor and small that it was clearly an oversight on the original inspectors fault and she chatted about many other things like weather and things instead of thoroughly checking the vehicle. I'm not inspector and like I said the dent was so minor it was clearly missed. I drove the vehicle to work and home and never did any damage happen during the 2 days I had the vehicle. This time they didn't want to give me the free rental and I strongly believe they are trying to make up for that by charging me for this dent! It really upsets me that a dealership treats their customers this way when you guys are the ones not fixing my vehicle properly and I'm having to take time out of my busy day to bring my car to you multiple times for the same issue! Once my lease is up I will never be a customer of ford again after this. I am very happy to take my business elsewhere, where I'm respected and appreciated! Just a quick note about this place: While car shopping recently, I visited Dorian Ford to check out the 2011 Mustang. I was pretty apprehensive about going in here. Not that I heard anything bad about this specific dealership, but I had never shopped Ford before as my father was a GM employee. In addition, I am generally suspicious of car dealers as a matter of principle. Anyway, my salesman, Shawn, treated me respectfully and fairly from the beginning. He appraised my trade-in quickly and gave me a decent price. He let me test drive the car I was interested in alone. (Some dealers come for the ride, which can divert your attention from the car you are evaluating.) He was not pushy and did not invoke any high pressure sales tactics. In fact, he didn't even take my phone number. Ultimately, I did not end up buying a Mustang or even a Ford for that matter. Had I decided on the Mustang, I'm sure we could have worked something out. Dorian will be my first stop the next time I am considering a Ford product. read more

Saw a GMC Acadia on Autotrader. Ive first hand been watching this car for a few months to see if the price may go down a hair if it didn't move. I finally talked myself into calling the dealership and was put in touch with Mike. I asked him if the Acadia was still available. I heard him type on the computer for a moment and he said, "Uh, yeah." I then asked how long they've had it. Mike replied. "Uh, about a week." Damn dirty lie! Like I said, Ive been watching the vehicle for a few MONTHS. The Acadia has SNOW on it in the pictures on their website! If they're going to lie about something silly like that, what else are they going to be dishonest about? He accused my wife and I of "holding" his title for the vehicle we decided not to buy. When I attempted to answer and explain we had a receipt for the drop off of his paperwork to the local UPS pick up site, he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. I ended the conversation by hanging up on him. Following the call, I immediately faxed the document. Never heard back from anyone at Dorian. Bought a 2013 focus with a wobbly wheel that was there to begin with, but was told it was just from "sitting on the lot" for so long. It got worse over time, of course with winter wear not helping. Took it in, and immediately the guy asked me if we went over pot holes at all this winter. Because I'm honest, I said "yes," but this is goddamn Michigan. Who doesn't go over a pot hole here and there? To make a long story short, they wanted to charge us $1600 for "two bent rims, new tires and an alignment." Turns out it was a bad TIE ROD that needed to get replaced, which Dorian never even mentioned. I may be a woman, but I am not an idiot. Good thing I trusted my instinct and got a second opinion. I called the dealer about issues I was having with vehicle less than 24 hours after purchasing it , left messages and emails for owner to call and they have another person call me and give me excuses that it was AS IS , even though their salesman stated that it was safety inspected and that was not the case as the repairs exceeded $2500 from a Five Star Dealer.If that was not enough the salesman I had lied to me about prices. I leased a new car from Chris (second new car from Mike Dorian) and he walked me through the process without any pressure. He also answered all of my questions and at the end, even worked with me to make sure I got the same monthly payments with the largest rebate. They did not have the configuration I wanted, so I factory ordered and the Ford plant took the longest time in delivering the car (just about 3 months). Like I said in my previous review, it all depends on who you get as a salesperson. The lot selection is a bit limited on the less popular vehicles. Suburban Ford and Russ Milne tend to have a much larger selection for all different models but they are rather difficult to deal with since they always seemed to treat me like another number. We stopped in yesterday, had an appointment to check out a used van. The used car salesman, Mike, with his typical "old school" used car salesman lingo, was hilarious. He actually used the phrase, let's go check out that beauty...LOL. I was turned off right then. Then his whole talk about how these go real quick..yeah, whatever. And to top it off, the gas indicator light was on. Who would feel comfortable taking a test drive up on Gratiot when you don't know how much gas is in the tank? I purchased a new 2018 Ford Escape from Mike Dorian Ford in April. Ford was giving a $5000 rebate on new 18's and I am a widow with limited resources and I needed a reliable car. (My last car was a Ford Escape also that I drove for 11 years and was very happy with it). I have always done business with Roy O'brien Ford in St. Clair Shores. Never again. I have found a dealership that actually cares about the customer and I walked away feeling really good about my purchase. Dorian offered me substantially more on my trade in, made the purchase process very easy and fast. Just had my (free) first oil change and inspection and was so pleased with the service and friendly person I dealt with (Jill). Never thought I would go to a dealership for service because it is more expensive but I will this time. Totally worth it. read more

My first experience with Doian was last year, the collision shop was fine. Gina at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Dorian's customer care follow up leaves much to be desired. The second time was a few months ago, they fixed the problem, while professional I was not overly impressed with their customer service. Shortly after my repair was complete my check engine light came on, took it to Auto Zone, they gave me the diagnosis, it wasn't a big problem to fix, not really wanting to deal with Dorian again I called Mike and asked what would it cost to fix it, he told me it would be $100.just to put it on their machine to see what was wrong, on top of the repair. I wasn't happy about that, I asked if he would order the part, Dorian Ford never seems to have parts in stock and always have to order them, he said he would, and would have it in a couple of days, I waited 3 days and did not hear from anyone at Dorian. I had the repair done elsewhere for half the price they quoted me. A week later, Mike Cheatham sends me a thank you for my business on my original repair. I emailed him back and said while I appreciate that you sent this letter you did not order the part for my second repair and you never called me back. After that he called me 2 weeks later saying he forgot.Really? Went there for an oil change recently. I know I should not have returned there, but I went, I expressed concerns in a survey after that my car doesn't seem right after the oil change, Someone else called me to ask what they could help with. That was April 17th, 2017. I called him back the next day and since then I have not heard from anyone at Dorian again. That was last week. My car needs 2 new tires, Dorian gave me a quote but I will be going elsewhere for service, they will probably forget to order the tires. Poor customer service. read more

HORRIBLE expierence. my salesman mike mcdonald even went as far to make the comment i dont know much about cars either i test drove a car that was so low on gas i had to put my own money in just to drive it. after getting my car appraised the key magically wouldnt turn to start the car and mike did nothing for me. after asking for a manager i got another salesman who told me no one got the chance to go in my car but clearly someome did since my seat was moved back a foot and they both left me in the parking lot to figure it out myself. any positive feedback on this site is clearly their employees. i wouldnt recomend this dealer to anyone read more
