I have been going to Dr Feder since I was a kid. I stopped for a few years and went elsewhere when his former office staff told me he didn't take my eye insurance and was rude in the process. Fast forward several years and after being unhappy going elsewhere I called Dr Feder office and was told they've always accepted my insurance! I was so happy to find this out I made an appointment on the spot. My wife and I both just had exams and are extremely happy with how we were treated! Dr Feder has all new staff that was a joy to deal with. The whole office has been remodeled. And best of all he still sits and takes the time to do a very good and through exam including taking digital images of the eye to detect future onset of glaucoma much earlier. He sits and answers any questions or concerns you have as well and you never feel rushed! I would highly recommend that if you need a good eye doctor that you give Dr Feder a try. Also if you haven't been to him in years due to some of his past staff, I'd say try again as they are new and awesome! read more

I have worn glasses my entire life and this was by far the worst eye doctor I have ever been too. The office staff was rude and unprofessional, I was prescribed glasses 2 strengths higher than I needed and when I told them repeatedly that I could not see out of them I was told that was impossible that was my prescription. Took them, my current glasses and my eyes to another Dr and was told they were way too strong. If I could give them no stars I would my advice stay away. In this day and age, having a doctor sit with you and have an actual conversation during your annual eye exam is like having a purple cat. With seven toes. With a unicorn body and dragon tail. He sits with you, and listens to what you have to say; and he really seems to know what he's talking about. He is a great doctor and I never want to go to any other eye doctor again. Unfortunately I will. His staff is horrendous. First of all, they have a antiquated filing system (nary a computer in sight) that they use actual trays and unless you know your tray number, (which changes with every visit) they yell at you, and spend 20 minutes trying to find out where they put your contact lenses, and/or glasses. That is NOT my responsibility to learn YOUR filing system. I should give you my name and you should be able to go from there. THEN, they yell at you if you ask for a copy of your prescription. I asked for a copy for my own medical records as I have asked every eye doctor for the past 15 years without a problem. They refused unless I signed a waiver agreeing to any problems I have with the prescription wasn't the eye doctor's responsibility. Huh? Isn't that what a prescription is? Due to their astronomical lense prices I went through 1800 contacts, and granted I wouldn't get the level of service I would get at the eye doctor. Oh wait, nope got me there too...I went to Doron Feder's office for the script after I had already ordered through 1800 contacts, and lo and behold, they mentioned they could have give me a rebate and been more competitive. AFTER I placed the order with someone else, how does that help either one of us? I'd love to give a local doctor my business, but at this point, it would fly against every capitalist bone in my body.... poor business practices should just curl up and die.... Numerous colleagues in the same health plan who have visited the place cite the lousy customer service as the reason they would never go back there. So, at this point, my next eye exam is scheduled all the way in Manhattan. I will be seeing my previous eye doctor who's not as good, but his staff always makes it such a pleasant experience I don't have heart palpitations any more. I figure the purple cat-seven toed, unicorn dragon is overrated anyway. But "please" and "thank you" always rank up there in my book. read more

As I sat and waited for my eye exam today I experienced first hand a very difficult customer test the patients of the staff. He went round and round with the same demands and questions testing staffs every last nerve. I myself wanted to reschedule my appointment as I had had enough of George P. However, I did stay and was glad I did. The doctor was more than professional and provided a wonderful exam. When I got to Marie I told her she has the patients of a saint. I have been going to Dr feder since I was about 15 (I am now 31) he is a great doctor, explains everything thoroughly and always listens to any concerns. I really feel like I'm getting the best care when I go there. Some of the staff still leaves something to be desired but it's gotten better. read more

Dr. Fedor and his staff are very professional. They take their time making sure all you needs are met. The doctor explains everything in a lay persons language so you understand. The staff also explains all the different options as far as the lens and frames go. This office has a vast variety of frames from many different manufacturers to designer. read more

I have been going to see Dr Feder for about 5 years. He has excellent bedside manner, which is so hard to find in doctors these days. He is knowledgable, patient and kind. I enjoy my visit with him because he is a genuine person and very humble. His staff has always been really helpful in answering questions or even just giving their opinion to assist me with a search for a pair of glasses. First visit with Dr. Feder and must say I was impressed. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Dr. Feder gave me a complete exam and explained the exam and answered all my questions. He was not rushed, listened to my concerns, answered all my questions and I've decided not to go any where else but him. I've been to Cohen's and Lens Crafters and have never felt like anyone was listening to my concerns regarding vision. Often in past experiences with optical places. glasses have to be readjusted because they do not follow the prescription or over-prescribe. On 04/13/2013 I had an appointment and had called 2 days prior to set everything up. Gave them my Insurance information well in time so that they can confirm the same. I have a $0 Copay for an exam and when I went in today, first the staff was not at all courteous an wanted to $ 40 copay upfront. I cancelled and DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR. I agree about the staff being horrendous. I've always liked Dr. Feder but just spoke with a person in their office, Paul, who was looking for an argument. There seems to be a war between their office and 800 Contacts. Even if their prices were comparable there is no question that 800 Contacts has far superior customer service orientation and that means a lot. I had a prescription filled by 800 Contacts incorrectly, it should have been a (-) but was a (+). Not sure if the doc office or 800 contacts screwed up but when 800 contacts tried to resolve, the doc office refused. 800 Contacts transferred me to the doc office and the person at the doc office said "Is this the young man who wants to have us write a prescription without being seen?". He said some other things but I stopped listening. He should have said, something like, "I'm sorry your Rx is expired but we can get you in soon and correct...or I'm sorry and wish I could do...or anything else that made it sound like he cared and wasn't looking for an argument." So, it ends like this - my family found another eye doctor and we will continue to use 800 Contacts because of their exceptional customer service. read more
