Doryland Pizza was our Lunch choice on the day we spent in Pacific City at Cape Kiwanda. BBQ Chicken was the common choice as I had it on a sandwich, while David ordered it on a Pizza. A nice draft beer for me and a soft drink for my Son added to the order. Both choices were tasty and just what we needed to get through to a later dinner. Counter service and pick-up was friendly and interactive. I thought the prices were consistent with a funky tourist setting. We ordered takeout. The pizza was a huge disappointment. We like thin crust, which this seemed to be, but it was more like cardboard and lacked flavor. We also ordered a bbq chicken sandwich, which looked nothing like the picture portraying it. I'm not sure what the outer layer was, but appeared to be flat bread, but was more like a flat tortilla. The slaw that was supposed to be inside was just shredded lettuce that was drenched in dressing. I don't normally do reviews, and we get take out quite often due to having a daughter with special needs, but this was such a disappointment and waste of almost $100, that I felt compelled to leave one. I have heard mixed reviews about this spot, but I will say - I was pretty happy overall. The prices are moderate - I paid $25 for a 14inch pepperoni. They said 10 minutes and that's about how long it took, which surprised me. The crust reminded me of an upscale Pizza Hut style that was buttery, crispy, and light. I really enjoyed it! Hanging out in Pacific City on a sunny November day, cheese Pizza sounded good; and we gave it a try. The crust was thin and had a nice chew. The cheese blend was flavorful and pulled nice with each bite. The only thing missing was sauce. It had very little sauce and no real flavor. I think it's 3.5 pizza but the service was outstanding. Quick and easy phone call. 10 minutes until it was ready to pick up. Then upon entering the clean establishment we were greeted with warm hellos and big smiles. That pushed the review to 4 stars. Food: fantastic, Service: OK, Ambiance: meh One thing I love about this place is the option to have a non-tomato sauce base on a pizza. There's more than 1 option of non-tomato sauce base, more than 1 vegetarian option (we got the mushroom - excellent), and good flavor combinations. We did a walk up order - waited the 30 minutes, went back, and waited another 30 minutes for our pickup. I'm guessing something went wayside with our order, hopefully that was a fluke. So happy that there is a pizza place in Pacific City. The family and I LOVED the pizza so much that we will be buying another pizza to take on our roadtrip back home. The convenience of ordering the pizza online was great! Service was also great as our pizzas were ready and still hot when we picked them up. Located near the water and a near a busy street, it was easy to find. The large windows allow great lighting in the space. Way better than the score here indicates. It seems like a lot of people have a bad time when they walk-in, order a pizza, and then wait for a pizza. Considering this place has online ordering, and I believe they have a a telephone, I don't know why so many people are lining up to order pizza face-to-face. Anyway, I say all that to say that I ordered and paid online, walked in when they said the food would be ready (25 mins) and walked out about 60 seconds later. We got home, ate the still hot and tasty food, and are quite happy with our dinner decision. The pizza is California style and had a good amount of toppings, a solid amount of cheese, and just enough sauce to complete the puzzle. Not only was the food very good, but the online ordering was easy and allowed for substitutions on specialty pizzas without upcharges. It's not the cheapest place, but it's hearty food that can go far. I'd say we got food that could feed four people for $50. If you're visiting Pacific City and want pizza, do not hesitate to give Doryland a try. read more

We stopped here for pizza and salad at dinnertime. No one greets you when you walk in; you go to the counter, order, and wait at a table. The pepperoni pizza was only ok - nothing special - and our Greek Salad was not fresh (wilted lettuce) and lacked cucumbers, which I thought were essential to Greek salad. I guess not. The tables needed wiping. Paper plates. You get your own drinks. The room was unheated. I fervently support mom and pop businesses but I don't see trying this one again. Doryland gets extra points for being open past 8PM in Pacific City. We got in late after a long day of hiking and exploring and were craving a hot meal and this place delivered. In terms of pizza, it is definitely not top notch. Pacific City is not known for its pizza and this place was certainly a reflection of that. It was also rather expensive considering we just got one pizza. With all that said, it was certainly adequate. I particularly liked how they double sliced it into 16 pieces. This made eating it by the campfire a lot easier. If you are in Pacific City and craving pizza (especially after 8PM) this is your spot. It's not the best but it is good enough. We got a sausage, pepperoni, bell pepper, and onion pizza and split it. It was more than enough for two people. read more

We just get to Pacific City from a solid two day drive. Thought we would go out to dinner, but girls were to tired. Offered to pick up pizza. We ordered just the large pepperoni and House salad. We were looking for dinner - for 4 adults - on a Friday night after getting set up at camp down the road around 6;30 in the evening. I called & was told that they have availability for our party. It was busy when we showed up. We stood in line & ordered a medium Taco pizza, an order of breadsticks with Marinara & 2 Pepsi bottles. It took almost 1.5 hours to get it. We visited while we waited. When it was delivered to our table we were ravenous. The breadsticks were warm & marinara had great taste. I have had many pizza place's Taco pizza & this was probably in the middle. It's a great local pizza place & when we are in the area & craving pizza, we will swing by...maybe not though on a Friday evening lol read more

This is pretty decent pizza, as far as a pizza spot next to an RV Park is concerned. You can grab a slice for six bucks- Hawaiian, pepperoni or combo. The pizza itself is pretty good, but it isn't served hot. They took it out of this insulated looking carrier that kept it warm but it didn't keep it hot. You need to find another way to do this- those insulated things don't work. But if you're getting a whole pizza here I can vouch- the toppings are tasty, it's just... pizza should be hot. read more

Yelp reviews were mixed but we thought the pizzas were really good, exceeded expectations. 5 stars from us. Normally don't get white sauce pizzas but the Chicken Bacon Artichoke was fantastic. 2nd pizza was Hawaiian. Red sauce has a bit different taste than used to but liked it. We're new to Oregon and headed to Pacific City to check out the scene. Turns out, town was a madhouse and our planned lunch spot was an overflowing zoo of chaos. Luckily for us, Dory's was a quick turnaround and didn't disappoint. My fiance and I shared a 10" thin crust pepperoni pizza and it was perfect! How you can manage to make a pizza that small and thin so greasy is beyond me, but sometimes a greasy pizza is just what the doctor ordered. The service was a little jarring at first, as if the cashier was speaking in a different language than us but, as it turns out, we all spoke Pizza just fine in the end. Ive been coming to Cape Kiwanda since I was a kid. The fam getaway from Portland. twice a year.. summer and spring vacation.. 1968 thru to about 1980. This beach is magical to me especially since im now that im 55 years old. However, the growth and crazy crowds on sunny days has more traffic jammed up than downtown Seattle which is where I live now.. A trip here Saturday the 19th of June 2021 has us scrambling to not get hit by others trying to park in the main lot looking out at Haystack.. We decided to say screw the brewery, lets hit that Pizza place ive seen for 20 plus years just across the street. .... We found parking, a place to set up to eat, a little unorthodox, but we sat outside around back on the cement ledge. The pizza was amazing and so is the great staff.!! Thanks Doryland for making our trip to Cape Kiwanda..( which is now a total zoo,) a tasty and fun time. The best time to visit is a cloudy cold weekday for sure.. A best kept secret for decades, now a major destination for many. The days of dories skidding up on the beach, hunting for glass floats, and hang gliders launching off the big dune may be rare if not gone. But the pizza is still there and going strong. read more

This is COVID times, things are strange and different. Do yourself a favor and skip the Pelican in lieu of heading to Doryland Pizza. This place is fantastic. Well-crafted pizza, gluten-free options available, great beer and cider spread. Free popcorn, and super friendly staff. Unlimited salad bar for only $8.95, and plenty of pizza size options. My boyfriend and i both got 10" pies - he got a GF meat lovers and it looks fantastic. I built my own and it came out with toppings stretched all the way to the edges, and both had what looks and tastes like a garlic herb butter spread around the crust.
