*NOT VEGETARIAN/MEAT SENSITIVITY FRIENDLY. Incredibly poor customer service when issues arise. Spoke to some rude young guy at 8:54p on 6/20/2026. **UPDATE 06/27: Upon this response I am glad to have made the decision to no longer dine at this restaurant as most of what the business is claiming happened is inaccurate and being relayed to them from a now terminated employee that they are choosing to believe the narrative of versus a customers. I would imagine your phone lines are not recorded otherwise you would have verified that is not how the call played out at all. I did mispeak at the beginning of the call and tried to clarify that my order had been called in over the phone but the calltaker was too busy arguing with me to let me get a word in. I will absolutely admit to using a singular F bomb at the end of the call prior to disconnecting out of frustration, but only after being talked over, argued with and ridiculed for the entire duration of the phone call. It was at that point I realized that the man on the other side of the phone call did not respect me nor my situation and was more concerned with being right than about resolving the issue at hand. I had a long day and after driving for 8+ hours was hoping to just support a local restaurant / employees and eat some good food. Someone shouldn't have to speak to a manager to order something without an ingredient and then still be given that ingredient. I hope the next person you hire has better customer service skills. -Hey so I'm never one to leave reviews unless I feel other people could benefit from my experience, so I wanted to save someone from hopefully going through what I just went through tonight with this restaurant. I ordered a cheese enchilada with no meat, as I haven't eaten meat for almost 15 years and it makes me incredibly sick to consume it. I placed my order over the phone and everyone was incredibly nice at pickup and besides them forgetting my horchata there were no issues. (Genuinely could have cared less about this but now it's just the icing on the proverbial cake, I guess). I made sure to tip near 20% in cash, as I appreciate the hustle of the food service industry and wanted to support local. I was halfway through my enchiladas when I noticed specks of what looked like meat on the top and in the center of my food. Concerned, I called in to verify what food I had been given as I ordered cheese and had what looked to be chicken in my food. Instead of being apologetic for messing up my order, I was told "well it should be obvious if it has meat in it or not" and then when I told the person on the phone I could get sick if it's chunks of meat he then ARGUED with me about how it's pork and not chicken?? And then informed me that's "just how their green sauce is made", as if I should have had insider knowledge to that. I told him I was not informed of this and I was practically shrugged off as he argued again with me about "how it's just on top and not inside", as if I was some overreacting child who just needed to scrape the top off of the food I just paid for. (There was also meat sauce inside but I just dropped the issue). Then he "sort of" offered a solution by requesting I drive all the way back to provide in- person proof of the food, again not at all sympathetic or even remotely apologetic, even after I told him I may need to seek medical attention and was just calling so I could get info on what I consumed. I couldn't even drive back to give him the half eaten enchilada and get my money back because by the time I finally got to eat half of a dinner that will likely make me vomit, I was 45 mins south at my destination. ***What makes me so mad about this whole ridiculous event is a simple apology would have sufficed. My money back would have been nice but I just wanted to get clarification on the issue and get a freaking apology the food I paid for was screwed up and likely going to make me sick. But I was instead belittled over not knowing their kitchen recipes, despite saying multiple times over the phone "no meat". There was no confusion when the order was placed and it was read back to me multiple times, so it really just comes down to them just not caring. I expect no special treatment over my food choices but a little respect and basic human decency would have been real nice. Guess that's too much to ask for from Los Caperales. Late lunch stop on a Sunday @ 3pm. Parking is infront of the entrance and around the building. Came in with super hungry kids. Greeted by friendly staff and seated immediately...close to the window by the entrance, right next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. That was the only empty table when we arrived. The place was packed. Chips and salsa came in quick and they were gone in no time. My kiddos love them. We got a refill. We ordered the following which I'll recommend. $22 Alberto's Burrito - delicious. This was recommended by our waiter. Fresh avocados, well seasoned burritos, large portions. $16 Bean & Beef burrito - my kiddo's fav. He devoured it. $16 - 3 tacos combo - plate was clean when all said and done. We had $4 lemonades for drinks. They come with refills. Overall, great service, delicious food, & good ambiance. We'll swing by next time we are in the area. read more

My husband and I have loved this place for the last 8 years; however we ate there for the first time in about 6 mos recently and it was terrible. My husband got his usual carne asada tacos which were $28 and had barely any meat at all. They have changed the filling to some kind of mystery meat, it didn't even look or taste like beef. The shrimp tacos were also different; they had tiny chopped up pieces of barely any shrimp as opposed to the big buttery whole prawns that they used to have. Basically prices are now thru the roof and quality is in the toilet. So disappointed!! We have loved this family run place but sadly probably will not go there anymore. read more

What a sweet little place! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is really flavorful and fresh. My daughter had a fish taco and a shrimp taco with beans and rice. She loved every bite of both tacos and the beans and rice were delicious. The grand kiddos split an order of Pollo Asada with beans and rice and guacamole, and ate every bite. i had a chicken enchilada which was really good, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and moist, and a chili relleno (also delicious, and light). The cheese inside was gooey and wonderful. Chips and salsa were served before the meal and refills were available upon request. We had a really warm and friendly conversation with the owner as well. What a treat! After a long day of travel, we had the good fortune of finding ourselves here for dinner. The owner, kitchen staff, and servers were all kind and friendly, the food was outstanding, and the margaritas were delicious. We had the crab enchiladas and the carnitas burrito. The enchiladas were outstanding, with a generous portion of good sized crab and the carnitas was tender and flavorful. The vibe was so cozy on a chilly rainy day, and the staff were out having friendly chats with travelers and locals alike in between orders, creating a charming, welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 food and experience. read more

I Asked the server to recommend a few dishes so I opted for the local cod fish tacos. She said they were grilled which is tough to pull off. Turns out they were a sautéed flavorless soggy tortilla mess and with iceberg lettuce. Standard rice and beans along with chips and salsa. Oh well better luck next time. What an amazing establishment. I ordered an al pastor plate and would 100% recommend. We also got horchata and deep fried ice cream. The star of the show though was Junior with a capital J. Our server delighted us with his humor. Its a locally owned business where they know their regulars and treat their new comers with warmth. Food service and the attention to the orders. We ordered over the phone. When I got their they seemed great and missed on drink witch I was okay with okay no problem. However I get back with my order and all is wrong. I have pictured of the order and when I called to make the order. So how could it be so wrong! No 6 tacos, it was taco meal. Mole nope wasn't even in the bag and then the tamarindo drink also wasn't on the ticket. So at what point will you take responsibility for what your mistakes are. Also here are the picture to prove when I sent my wife the order and called right after to to the store with that exact order for the same reason to not make a mistake. I want to preface this review by stating that I am Mexican-American and have grown up cooking and eating Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. I know good Mexican food. My family and I ate here about 2 months ago and weren't terribly enthused, but decided to give this place another chance, as there was a young man who provided excellent customer service and we thought we must have ordered on a bad day. I cannot express how genuinely disappointed we all were with this food. I understand that this restaurant is situated in a touristy town with a limited number of eateries where residents don't know any different and may even have a different flavor palate. I don't expect authentic Mexican food on the Oregon coast. I also hate to discredit anyone behind the grill for their clientele having a different expectation of what Mexican food is. That said, I legitimately thought I had COVID when I tasted this food because there was almost no flavor. As if paying $80 for our food wasn't enough of an insult, the tortilla soup broth tasted like water with a pinch of salt. The enchiladas were DRY and the meat had no flavor. The only flavor the chile relleno (which was essentially a pepper omelette) was spice from the seeds that weren't removed. The straw that broke the camel's back was being charged almost $10 for six store bought Mission brand tortillas. If you are none-the-wiser and enjoy this food, by all means, do not allow me to dissuade you from returning. But if you have any expectations of decent or even laughable Mexican food with a modicum of flavor, look elsewhere and save your money. read more

Red salsa excellent. - Avocado salad tostada: Good, the tostada was a bit small but you get a bag of tostada chips, so no issue. Generous avocado portion. Takeout window operation nicely done. Easy, quick service, friendly folks. Prices in line with the current economy. Remember to tip well in these days of covid and staffing shortages. Overall, A-OK but just barely. Service was pleasant and the food was packaged nicely. Chips and salsa comes with your order. Chips tasted house made, but we like ours a little thicker; these broke when trying to scoop beans or guacamole. We ordered the green chili burrito with rice and beans, cheese quesadilla, and chili relleno. Everything was excellent. They provide a red sauce, which was very mild. We had a terrific takeout experience here last week. Times being what they are, we tried for an outdoor table and decided to order to go instead. We ordered a couple of margaritas to enjoy on the deck while we waited for our food, which was ready before we finished our drinks! The margaritas were wonderful, as was the food and the service! Our take out included chips and nicely spiced salsa. Our entrees - Carne Asada and Chile Verde, were excellent, right down to the refried beans and rice. (The ultimate test of real love in the food, the simple things like the refritos-gotta be good!)When in Pacific City and you're in the mood for darn good Mexican, Los Caporales is the place to go! They currently have limited hours, they open at 4 for dinner. We didn't want to wait so we opted for their take out. VERY BAD decision. We ordered queso and the container was only half full. We also order a large combination appetizer plate and there was hardly any meat on the order even though meat on the order was on the menu. The kitchen really took advantage of our "take out" status and the quality was extremely poor. At one point this was one of our favorite places to eat in Pacific City, a real gem. The prices have increased substantially and the quality has gone down substantially. We will not go back for a very long time. read more
