Rice, beans and guac sides w/meal.
Scott K.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted immediately by a friendly waitress and seated in the main dining room. There is also a bar room with tvs that were playing several of the top events happening that afternoon. Tortilla chips and fresh salsa were placed on the table which was welcome by the hungry patrons as we perused the rather lengthy menu. About the only thing missing are tamales. Not sure why, but they don't seem to be on many menus. Lunch specials are available everyday until 3:00. We ordered the shrimp taco meal and a quesadilla. Meals come with your choice of 3 sides. I got guacamole, black beans and yellow rice. The beans were pretty good but the rice and guacamole were just ok. The guacamole tasted pretty good but seemed over processed and too smooth/liquidy for a freshly made guac. The tacos were very good. The shrimp were marinated and generous in quantity. The quesadilla came with a side of sour cream and guacamole. I actually used the sour cream with my tacos and I'm glad I did. There was a familiar spice added that I couldn't quite figure out so I asked. They add white pepper to their sour cream. It was delicious (I prefer white to all other pepper.). We didn't order any dessert or drinks but the desserts looked good and the drink list was lengthy-both of which we'll have to try next time!

shrimp tacos, black beans, steak and shrimp fajitas

I dont know if perhaps the fact we came in on st patty's day (so the food was dyed green) had anything to do with it, but this is for sure the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Overall ambience of the place is very homemade, slightly dirty/greasy looking but I was willing to overlook as long as the food was tasty. The chips were stale and the salsa was watery/flavorless/overly salty. I ordered the shrimp tacos with sides of sour cream and black beans. The shrimp tacos were bland and nothing special. The sour cream tasted really strange, a taste I could only describe as "funky" like it had gone bad. The black beans were very watery and SOUR for some reason, like overly sour and not in a good way. My friend got steak and shrimp fajitas which came out watery as well, and they were steaming instead of sizzling like they should have been. Overall would not come back again, go to Senor panchos or even Chipotle instead.

Fell in love with the gambas(shrimp) in the white wine garlic sauce. So so good. This Mexican eatery is your regular good Mexican dishes and a great bar selection. The gambas are one of those items you order every tine you go there. Always a good time when I go there.

House made salsa so amazing, that my three year old niece wouldn't share hers!

The anomaly we should point out right away is that Speedy Tacos, a terrific little restaurant, is…read moreanything but speedy. And that's a virtue here, because it means that your order is prepared after you order it and isn't sitting in a microwave. Believe us, that makes a huge difference in the quality of your dish not to mention the taste. And that's a big reason why we give Speedy Tacos five stars. There are other reasons it is deserving, most notably the embracing service provided by the family. Truly, we are made to feel so welcome when we go in. It never fails to delight us and enhance the dining experience. And that dining experience has been very good every time we've gone in. The menu isn't exhaustive as in some larger Mexican restaurants. We'd call it a bit more limited though plentiful for most preference. Our favorites? Start with the ceviche, one of those dishes that is prepared when ordered; the octopus is so tender and freshly prepared. Just right! The Fajitas de Pollo comes in cheese, yummy with the sautéed peppers and onions. The tacos, your choice, are delicious, the meats perfectly cooked. The sides are huge (one serving of rice seems large enough for an entire table). Lots of their business is take-out. But there are tables and a bar inside, and we enjoy dining there. The mariachi music is a delight (if it annoys you you'll likely find it is quickly tuned out), but mostly it's being around the pleasant management. Prices are not on the inexpensive side, but the servings are quite substantial, and given the quality of the food and the overall vibe here, we'd have to call it a bargain. So, yes, we're fans. big fans. Speedy Tacos is located in the Staples shopping area, the one with a TJ Maxx, Ninety nine, etc. We urge you to stop by.

What really caught me off guard was how big the space is. From the outside, I assumed it was just a sandwich spot, but they actually have a full bar and a pretty expansive setup inside. It wasn't very busy when we went--actually, we were the only ones there--which made the atmosphere a little quiet for lunch, but that also meant quick service. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu or maybe swing by when it's a bit more lively.

If you visit this restaurant keep in mind that…read morethere is no restaurant dedicated parking, you have to either park on the street or find a lot nearby; not ideal on a cold day but this isn't the restaurants fault; just something to be aware of. That being said we arrived and there wasn't really anyone in the main restaurant but the bartender was friendly enough. Unless it's an off peak time on a weekday, that's usually a potential cause for concern for me. I can't comment too much on the service since a few staff members just came by to help clean up and we didn't have the normal patron experience since it was an event hosted by the restaurant. Instead of going with the tacos or the enchiladas, which looked like they had been sitting around contemplating life for a while, I just kind of made a bit of a salad with ingredients. It was fine enough, not something I would personally spend money on. The best way I could describe the food would be hangover food. If you had a night of drinking, this could be a spot you might head to instead of fast food if they're open late. If you're looking for authentic Mexican this is not the place to go, unless you prefer Tex-Mex I suppose. Either way I wouldn't recommend this place based off our recent experience.

Freddy the owner was incredibly hospitable. The bar was teeming with locals and it was a fun vibe with people eating at the bar. The TVs were on and the spirits were high. There was one server for the bar area pretty much doing it all. And I have to say she was amazing and 100% able to multi task all the bar orders and our table. While we were there the tables at the bar got filled up, and that was a good thing. I've heard people complain about the service but we had zero problems, and our food came out perfectly and in time. My drink was a Negroni and it was most excellent, on the strong side, but well done with top shelf liquor. For appetizer have calamari which were extra screwy and fresh tasting. The bread was homemade in their kitchen and delicious. The Lobster a ravioli was delicious. I think they said this was their best seller. A nicely constructed plate, and worth $29.00. There were 6 decent sized shrimp, and 6 large ravioli. The sauce was like a creamy red/pink sauce with a splash of wine, and perfectly seasoned. We also had a salmon dish (not shown,) baked potato with broccoli, with a generous piece of fresh Salmon. We really enjoyed the meal and we hope to back again soon! P.s. our server was friendly and super sweet and was eager to make sure we had a perfect night. Kudos for the service!

My wife said something to the waitress (named wifey) about it and she made an excuse ,"the grill is hot and it's hard to get it right" the waitress couldn't care less. So warning,I will never eat there again, and you shouldn't waste your money either, her steak was $ 45. If the "waitress" had actually cared and offered some recourse I wouldn't be as angry . I realize the waitress did not cook it,but don't like how she handled it.
