I love authentic ethnic food! Brasa's is pure Authentic Peruvian food. The food is simply awesome! My wife is Ecuadorian, and she says this reminds her of Ecuador as the food is similar. She said it is 100% Authentic in presentation and flavor. I love it. Everything I've tried has been great. The servers don't speak much English but it's easy to express what you want. And the menu is in Spanish but if you scan a QR code you can see an English translation. We always end up getting the Lomos Saltado. If you like Real Latino food in this case Peruvian, you Must come here. You won't regret it. Delicious food. I ordered the fried calamari as a takeout and sat in the restaurant while it was prepared. Both the calamari and the french fries were not edible. The calamari consistency was that of fried rubber rings. I had to toss the whole dish in the trash. I am sure from other reviews that there is good food here to order. I obviously made a bad guess ordering what I did. But that calamari should not be on their menu. Also, the metal chairs were uncomfortable, and the music grated on my nerves as the singers in the band were unable to quite reach the notes they were aiming for. My husband and I came here for a lunch date and were greeted and seated quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Peruvian restaurant in Lexington since I'm a big fan of this cuisine. We ordered the 1/2 pollo a la brasa (which comes with a salad), ceviche mixto, and one chicha morada. The food arrived in a reasonable time, and everything was absolutely delicious. However, the biggest downside was the number of flies and gnats in the dining area, which made the experience less enjoyable. It's a shame this restaurant isn't in a better location because the food is fantastic. If it were in a more visible spot, I'm sure it would be packed. Unfortunately, being tucked away in a small plaza makes it easy to miss. While I wouldn't dine in again due to the bugs, I'd definitely return for a takeout order! read more

Visiting Lexington, KY, looking to have lunch. We found a Peruvian restaurant that served Rotisserie Chicken. Walking in smelled soooo good. We knew we were in for a great meal !!! Allison V, was our server.... she was great. Very friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Two notes.... 1) we thought the music was too loud.... It was a bit tough to hear each other when talking. (that can be easily fixed). 2) it would be nice for them to have a wine license... to at least serve Sangria!! No alcohol is available. Food was excellent !!! We ordered a full rotisserie chicken with salad & 2 sides to split. Our meal was over the top delicious !! The brine seasoning made the chicken so tender and moist. Included with our meal was a huge salad with tomatoes and cucumbers. Very fresh. We also ordered the tostones, which were thicker than we've had in other places... delicious. The sauces served with our meal were white sauce (a very tasty mayo mix with "something ", a yellow Ali pepper sauce & their jalapeño green sauce. I have been wanting to try Peruvian food at Brasa's for a long time and it is great!! The atmosphere isn't that great but the food is spot on! I had the Papa A La Huancaina appetizer and it was delicious and I look forward to getting that again. The sauce is amazing. For my meal I ordered the Classic Lomo Saltado. The beef was tender and the dish was very tasty. It was my first time eating Peruvian food so I don't know what to compare it to but we ate with a couple of friends that just got back from vacation in Peru and they said it was like what they ate there. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something different. We were disappointed about just one thing.... They were completely sold out of all chicken so I didn't get to try that. read more

Two stars because first visit it was so so. Second visit it was horrible. Waiters forgot us completely multiple times. Brought yuca without any sauces. We waited and waited and finally they came but yuca was cold by then. The chupe de shrimp was not good, aguadito had no flavor at all. Lomo was sad. Causa was wet. So bad. All of it. Waited an hour on hotdogs. Third visit was ok. We ordered an hour ahead and still waited on our food upon arrival. But they were nice and working hard. Yuca was great. Pollo was prepared well. This gives us hope they will do better. But first two visits were so bad I took 3 stars off. The two stars are for the third visit, they were nice. The food was amazing. I will be craving that yellow Peruvian sauce for everything! The restaurant is a bit small, but was large enough for my group of 5. We did have a few difficulties with a language barrier, but noting google translate couldn't fix. Our server was nice and accommodating to our group. I would definitely go back. read more

This was my first time with Peruvian food and I can say it did not disappoint. To me it is kind of a meld of Mexican, Caribbean, and Puerto Rican food. The sauce on my Pesscador a lo macho ( I think that's right) was amazing and the mussels in the dish were the first ones I have ever enjoyed. My wife had the chicken with pesto and it was better than any Italian version we have had. The plantains were good and the sweet potato fries were the sweetest I've eaten. Service was great and there was plenty of cancha to eat for snacking while waiting. It is corn that tastes like popcorn but is not completely popped. It was delicious. Our family tried this restaurant for the first time last night. Picked up three entrées and an order of empanadas + a several sauces. Everything was great and we live so close that we will become regulars. If I am in the mood for Chinese fried rice, I'm actually going to go here instead and get their version from Peru.
