Stopped in on my way out for an event. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants to chose from in Chelsea but this one is a bit different. They are clearly going for a more upscale vibe with the prices/ decor/ and plating. The service was extremely quick, the waiters are very friendly and accommodating. The food looks beautiful, and that is where it ends. The flavor is not there. Most Mexican places appeal the masses with their food simple familiar favors , while more high scaled ones go for fresh ingredients, unique experiences, a different way to see the cuisine. This fell somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't turn it down if a group of people were looking for middle ground but i won't be suggesting this as a place to visit either. Nothing really stood out. They do have what appeared to be a pretty stocked bar, maybe i will drop in for a drink next time.

My husband and I dropped by for a night out and had a good experience. Our server was extremely friendly and efficient and we each had a very tasty margarita (I recommend the la familia). My husband got the steak burrito and said it was probably the best he's ever had and we brought home the shrimp and chicken quesadillas for my dad who also raved about his meal. I'm not quite as adventurous of an eater as the two of them so my chimichanga fell a little flat just based on my personal preference for Mexican food. I definitely would be willing to go back and try something new but if you are kind of picky like me, this may not be your top choice for Mexican. On the other hand, if you have a broader palate you will probably love this place! Also, the portions are huge.

This is a hidden gem in Chelsea. It's located in the old Johnny Ray's restaurant. They really did a great job on remodeling this place. Once we entered, we were greeted asap and she gave us information on the restaurant and took our drink order. She then brought out some fresh chips and flavorful salsa. We ordered the lunch' specials which were the chimichanga with a taco and the empanadas with a taco and enchilada. By the way, happy hour starts at 11am!!!! Our food came out hot and fresh. This was the first time I had ordered empanadas and I will definitely will order them again here. Our server came by continuously to make sure we were good. After have a great lunch and great drinks, dessert was a must. The churros were amazing. They were hot and came with a caramel sauce that put them over the top. This is a great place to have a great Mexican experience and not break the bank. Check them out for yourself.

Chips & salsa are now complimentary. Place is still great with delicious food and friendly staff.

I've been looking at this restaurant for a while. They have a small vegetarian section on their menu and their drink menu is impressive. I ended up not ordering anything at the beginning and planned on sticking to drinks, but my boyfriend got steak tacos and I joined in by ordering a burrito bowl salad without meat. Their salad dressings are lacking but the food was decent. I'll be back for more drinks - we definitely enjoyed them. I'll stick to chips & salsa for food though.

I was really disappointed after reading the reviews of this place. It is a decent sized area with standard Mexican decor. The earlier reviews showed a much different menu and decor so maybe there has been some type of ownership change?? The menu is pretty big and varied. It was a Sunday around 11 when we went and there was no one in there but us, the salsa was not very good and didn't really taste fresh, queso was bland. We got chilaquiles and added steak but they didn't put the eggs on it, I'm not sure if she got confused and thought we didn't want the eggs or what, but it was unfortunate. The steak was unseasoned but the chips and verde sauce were good, would not come back for it. They had small margaritas 2 for 1 so we got those, after we were done eating it took 15 minutes for our waitress to come over and we ended up just walking to the register to get our check. Won't be back, there is much better Mexican around at a better price point.

I really enjoyed this new restaurant in Chelsea where the old Chubbfather's used to be. The people were very polite and accommodating. The food was hot and served quickly. The atmosphere is very quaint, and the restaurant is spotless. The shrimp tacos were scrumptious! I like chips that are served warm and salsa with a stronger flavor profile -- which would easily make this place a 5-star experience.

Dos Tequilas was a nice surprise. A cute and quaint place, decorated softly, minimally. A big difference from most Mexican restaurants that I have been in. We started out with chips, salsa and queso. The salsa was perfect, very fresh and tasty. I like chunky salsa and it fit the bill. I asked for fresh jalapeños on the side for the queso. Fragrant&delicious with the warm queso. The chips didn't come out warm like I'd like, but I'll ask for warm chips next time. My husbands chicken tortilla soup was tasty. He asked for a cup of it, and they brought him a fairly large serving. My entree was plenty enough for two people, especially after enjoying the chips, salsa and queso. The shrimp and chicken quesadillas were delicious. They are a little different than the quesadillas I've had in many other Mexican restaurants. The guacamole and pico were fresh and tasty as well. They have a full bar with cold beer and plenty of tequila's. Hope you enjoy when you try them out. We will go back.

We decided to give this place a go since it was the newest addition to Chelsea's small selection of restaurants. I have to say though that it was excellent and may be a new local go-to. Service was excellent, server was attentive and gave great recommendations. They also might have my favorite chips and salsa, the salsa was extremely fresh and the chips were warm and crisp. They also offer a great selection of drinks which tasted great as well. The entrees were the definite stand-out. Again everything tasted fresh and was a big step up from regular tex-mex food. Overall the place was great and I will be coming back soon, I am eager to see how they do!

New owners have completely changed the place. It's just a run of the mill TexMex place now. Very sad.

Clad in mine stained Batman doublet, whose hood-strings I had gnawed as a beast gnaweth bone, I entered that place seeking meat for the belly and balm for the soul. Verily, the aroma of roasted meats and spices rose up as incense before the altar. I spake unto the servant, saying, "Give me the fajitas and the queso, and suffer not the margarita to pass me by," and they did minister unto me with speed and kindness. The fajitas sizzled upon the iron as though the very fires of the pit had been brought forth, the meats tender and full of savour, the peppers and onions yielding up their sweetness. The queso flowed like unto a river of mercy, rich and warm, and when I dipped the chips therein, it coated mine tongue with comfort. The margarita was cold and strong, refreshing the spirit as dew refresheth the morning grass. All things were made fresh, even as the scripture of their kitchen declareth. Yet as I ate, the old wound opened. In the year of our Lord two thousand and seven, upon spaghetti night, mine father took his gym bag and spake, "I can do this no more," and departed, leaving a child of nine winters clutching a scratched Batman figure at a cold table. The door slammed, and he returned not, neither called he upon any day thereafter. Thus I sat in the booth, rocking gently to and fro, and the good food of Casa Fiesta filled the belly but could not wholly still the cry of the fatherless. I am a broken vessel, a man-child unworthy of such bounty, drifting from table to table in search of that which was taken from me. Nevertheless, five stars I render unto them, yea, five stars and more. For in that house the meats are seasoned with care, the service is swift as the wings of angels, and for a season the emptiness doth draw back. I shall return again in mine same garments, to eat of their fajitas and drink of their margaritas, and to let the sizzle speak peace unto the part of me that yet waiteth by the door. Casa Fiesta off 280, thou hast dealt kindly with a wretched soul. Blessed be thy kitchen, and blessed be thy name among the hungry and the heavy-laden.

The only hiccup was that our server seemed a bit irritated after we ordered the Casa Fiesta dip and later asked to have it without the pico de gallo because of the spice risk -- but everything else went smoothly. The Fiesta Bowl was very good and definitely the standout of the meal. I'd probably return, especially to try more dishes when it isn't as packed. Solid spot with tasty food!

So this has been on my list and I finally came here on a Thursday evening with my son. It's at the end of a shopping center where a Walmart is. We got there about 5:30 PM. It was not busy at all. We were promptly greeted by a hostess that sat us in a booth. We started off with the chips and salsa, but on the menu it does say after two baskets they will charge you for the chips and salsa. We only had one. The chip could've been a little thinner. It's rude to find a raspberry margarita so I wanted to get one unfortunately they didn't have any frozen ones. They were just on the rocks. I was pretty shocked when I looked at the receipt and saw that it was $17 for a Margarita and it definitely wasn't worth that much. It had kind of a weird taste to it. We did get the cheese dip and it was very delicious. I decided to try the Mexican lasagna, which was so delicious. I got it with the beef and it was layers of ground beef, pico beans, and possibly some rice too. It was a good portion and I ended up bringing the other half home. My son ended up getting nachos with shrimp, chicken and steak and he really enjoyed it and finished his whole plate. I will definitely be back sooner than later because I love some good Mexican food, but I will probably end up getting just a soda next time. Fernando was our waiter and he was very attentive. I will say the restaurant in the bathrooms were clean. There's only one bathroom each for men and women. I would think it a restaurant this big they would have more stalls.
