Amazing hidden Gem! Super authentic. Everything looks so good. Taste even better. the portions are BIG! so either go with a big group or have Tasty leftovers for couple days (still good next day). It's definitely a must.

Our favorite biryani place. Vijaywada biryani is one of the best we have had. Good mango lassi. Ghee Podi Dosa - yummy, crispy and just perfect!

This is from the same owner as Hyderabad Indian Grill and our Dosa delivery order actually came from a Hyderabad location. I guess you could consider this their secret delivery menu! I absolutely love Hyderabad so it's no surprise that I'd love Dosa. The Dosa menu has a bit more of a complex twist with items that take more time to craft. We ordered a Masala Chai, the Onion Chilli Uthappam, Hyderabad's Special Chicken Biryani, and the Madras Chicken Curry! Everything came with extra sauces and rice. I don't even know where to begin with this order. The curry was delicious, fragrant, and perfectly spicy. The biryani was also delicious with perfectly cooked rice as always. Very texturally pleasing across the board. The Uthappam I've never had before and it was absolutely heavenly. Fluffy spongey "bread" that I used as a utensil for everything else!

Untouched "vegetable pulau" dish...since mains come with rice!

Ample portions of food from across the subcontinent. Chef willing to adjust spice level upon request. Sambar, coconut and tomato chutneys were tasty. Raita served with biryani is to my liking (coriander, cilantro, carrot, red onion). Kids enjoyed the steamed momo (although obviously made off site) Drawbacks are that they didn't ask if we'd dined before. And they didn't mention that curries are served with rice, so we ended up with an ENTIRELY untouched rice dish. And "vegetable pulau" is actually more of veg biryani...not like peas pulau that I expected.

We have been to this restaurant twice now. Each visit has been a great gastronomic experience! I like how they have southern Indian food that you normally don't see in most Indian restaurants; Sambar with Igdly Each dish we ordered from our first visit to the latest one has been a delight. They're full of flavor and comes in very generous servings. My daughter is a big fan of their butter chicken. It's creamy, can be served mild, and is a burst of flavor. It goes very well with basmati rice. In our recent visit, we tried their Goat Curry, Dosa, and Biryani. I especially liked the Biryani. It was very tasty. It took a while to make and get served. But it was worth the wait. Definitely recommend this place to get good Indian food. Especially if you're craving for South Indian cuisine.

Thin, flat with hard spots. Seemed microwaved.

Terrible. Arrived at 12:45 on Wednesday. No lunch buffet. Food took 25 minutes and we had to ask how much longer for our food. Garlic naan was forgotten. Arrived halfway through lunch and tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Had hard spots in it that could not be chewed through. Entrees arrived steaming hot but sauces were bland. The sauce on the Mattar Paneer and the Shahi Paneer looked and tasted like bland tomato sauce. Had to remind the server to bring our drinks.

Well, the outside looks better than the inside. Don't go here for the design. I ordered take out and it took about 35 minutes, which they told me 30 - so that's ok. The food was good although the Naan could have used some more oil/butter on it. My biggest complaint is I got the Gulab Jamun for dessert and for $5 I was shocked to see only 3 pieces. Seriously? $1.67 a ball......

Last month, I had been out and about on consecutive days in the Twin Cities. I felt like hibernating in my hotel room and didn't feel like heading out to grab dinner. Instead, I looked at my Uber Eats app to get food delivered. You probably find this detail shocking. During this pandemic, I tend to order takeout and fetch my food from the eatery in question. I have only done delivery once and that's because this business did not have a storefront at the time. Well, it's now twice. I hadn't ordered food delivery since 2018. Yep, that long ago! Back then, I was also at a hotel. I find it fancy to get food delivered right to my door when I'm away from home. I found Dosa South Indian Grill. The ratings were good. I loved what I saw on the menu, so I ordered the following: - Garlic naan (BOGO) - Lamb samosas (3) - Potato masala dosa - Shahi tukda The eatery was fourteen minutes away from the hotel. I could have easily fetched my food, but delivery was free. I felt cozy staying put. I got an Uber Eats driver with a perfect rating. I had never seen such a rare unicorn! I was thrilled that he would not sacrifice his rating to not deliver my precious dinner items to me. I'm probably the only one who likes watching how far the delivery car is away from me by following along on the app. Hey, let me enjoy my rare delivery moment... haha! He knocked on my door. I said hi, grabbed my food from him, thanked him, and wished him a good evening. He reciprocated. He wasn't terribly talkative. It just meant that I could chow down faster. The garlic naan had lots of garlic. It wasn't as soft as I had hoped, though. To rejuvenate it, I ended up dampening a paper towel, placing it over one of the naan that was on a plate, and microwaving it. As crazy as that sounds, it was softer with more moisture. Whenever I see lamb samosas, I must try them. Each samosa was stuffed silly with lamb filling. It does taste a bit gamey if you don't using the two different dipping sauces. I got a tangy one and a green herby one. Both complimented the filling nicely. The wrapper was crunchy and sturdy. It never disintegrated on me with each bite that I took. The potato masala dosa was amazing. I went with a vegetarian main because I got lamb samosa. Holy cow! It had the best potato filling that I've ever had in a dosa. It was flavourful and oddly simple. This place does not skip on filling. The dosa was soft and enveloped the precious potato filling. I'd so get this dosa again. The dosa came with three sauces: - Spicy tomato chutney - Sambar - Coconut chutney They were all amazing. The sambar was like a mini vegetarian stew with carrots, onions, and more. My tip is to have the sambar with the garlic naan. It is heavenly and easily a separate meal. I got dessert. I have never had shahi tukda and decided to give it a go. I'm glad that I did. It's like bread pudding, but with saffron and pistachios, and slightly sweet. It was yummy. I'd definitely get it again. My late friend gave me a list of places to eat and I still am working on visiting these places. She said that there was an Indian eatery by Mall of America. I'm hoping that it was this location because it was awesome. She would have approved the food here. I'd get food from this eatery again without hesitation. Next time, I may need to check out the actual restaurant, and get back to my usual takeout or dining routine when I'm back in town. (473)

Saw a blog ranking this place pretty highly and decided to give it a try, between 2 people, we shared the Benne Masala Dosa, Madurai Chicken Pepper Fry and Andhra Chicken Curry. We took home leftovers. We ordered level 5 spice for the chicken dishes and it was definitely spicy for me. Everything was really good though, our favorites are the dosa (crispy exterior and yummy potato filling) and the Chicken Pepper Fry(very tasty). Also, saw a notice that they would start a lunch buffet soon so will be returning to try that! The service was prompt. We were seated immediately and we did not have to wait long before they came to take our order. However, we were one of the first ones in the restaurant as we went at 10.30am on a Sunday. The restaurant ambience is fine, it's clean and has comfortable seating.

    Garlic Naan-a must for dipping

Visited 1/4/24. Had been wanting to visit for a while and finally made it in on this Thursday night. We went around 5:30 and there were plenty of available tables at this time and an open parking lot with spots available. My sister and I split the samosa chaat and naan as a starter of sorts then she got a vegetarian dish with potatoes and cauliflower and I got the butter chicken. I would definitely definitely recommend the samosa chaat. It's under the "street food" section of the menu and was so delicious. Not to mention the sauces in it were amazing so it was perfect for dipping naan into. Our main courses were also delicious and really great sizes so we both ended up with leftovers. Honestly I feel like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, really solid experience.

Enjoyed the food. Food was served on steel plates. Balanced flavor with the sambar, chutneys, and dosa masala-- nothing too spicy or garlicky Sweet Lassi had a unique cardamom flavor which made it different than other places I've had it at.

Great southern Indian street food. Variety of dosa (thin crispy pancake) selection offered on the menu. The menu includes other items from meats, veggies as well. Delicious overall. Will definitely come again.

Staff is quiet but very attentive. They brought out food out and it was still steaming. The flavors are a hit as you can taste all the indian spices. for those who like spicy and can handle it our the extra spicy level! very flavorful with the awesome heat! The restaurant was very simple. I would have loved to see more indian themed and more colors. However the food makes up for it. Portions are very generous. We had the Dosa special and the Egg biryani. Both are very delicious plates

It's a yogurt-based curry with CRISPY pakora in it. I came here thinking "any restaurant can make pakora, it's literally just deep-fried, battered vegetables." This was a mistake I have already lived to regret. Before I describe the food, I'll note that I ordered online and was advised to pick it up in 20-35 minutes. I arrived on the later end of this range. I went into the restaurant and no one was seated inside, but it was a Monday night so maybe that's a quiet day for them. I went up to the counter to pick up my order. There was nobody there but someone came out after I rang the bell. I picked up my order and went home, not thinking to check it. I arrived home with the goods in hand. My mother opened it and gave me a look of disappointment, contempt, and disgust. The pakora was cold, limp, and not battered. It seemed like it was microwaved or even just taken straight out of the fridge. We still made the curry, but it was an abomination. I've never had pakora this bad. If you're looking for Indian food in the metro, go literally anywhere else or my Indian mother will be disappointed in you, too.

Bright paint on the walls with colorful photographs, a slightly raised space with cushions that might be used for a performance, and long tables that invite family-style dining. I chose this spot because I was curious about their "Afghan hamburger," which was sausages, hard boiled eggs, various vegetables, and fries with spicy ketchup in a tortilla-like wrap, exactly as described. The fries were pleasantly crispy, and I enjoyed the spicy ketchup. I wanted and got something different. The wrap came with a generous portion of chutney, perhaps the same mint walnut chutney I've seen elsewhere. I washed it down with salt lassi, which hit the spot for me. It wasn't too salty, and it had fresh cucumber in it. I was a little confused when the prices at the register were slightly higher than the prices on the menu, but it was still reasonably priced, especially these days. It would be great if someone updated the menu prices. I took home some sabzi palak (spinach stew) to go. Even though both the stew and the fresh bread it came with had cooled down by the time I got home, they were delicious! As soon as I finished eating, I ran to my computer to look up a recipe. That stew hit it out of the park. I will never think of spinach in the same way again. Next time we're in the neighborhood, I will definitely take my spouse here.

The young host was running around looking very flustered, which made the vibe feel way more chaotic. Thankfully, it looked like the owner noticed and helped take over organizing the staff and getting guests arranged at tables. We noticed they have a really fun cafe setup called The Corner Café with its own window in the corner. It was closed when we were there, but it turns out they actually operate as a full-service artisan coffee shop during the morning and afternoon, serving Spyhouse coffee and pastries before shifting entirely to fine dining at night! For dinner, my husband ordered the sticky cauliflower as an appetizer and declared it "the best cauliflower 'chicken' bites he's ever had"--he also absolutely loved the white sauce it came with. He also got the mango yuzu drink which was super refreshing. For entrees, we ordered the coconut curry, which had a great flavor and wasn't overly sweet (which can sometimes happen when a kitchen overdoes the coconut milk). I ordered the Delhi butter chicken. The waiter mentioned that their spice scale is a "Minnesota spice" scale, so I felt safe upgrading to medium since I usually order mild. Flavor-wise, it had a bit too much tomato flavor for my personal preference, but it was still well prepared and the pieces of chicken had a lovely, smoky flavor.
