We ordered butter chicken, naan stuffed with chicken, tikka masala, and beef biryani--everything was delicious! I was so eager to try the naan with butter chicken that I burned my mouth digging in. The beef biryani had a great amount of beef, just like the other dishes. The naan stuffed with chicken was different--the chicken seemed finely ground to be stuffed inside the bread, which was interesting. The service was great, and our server kept refilling our water. The restaurant is in a cute, small space but still has plenty of seating. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place!

First the Butter Chicken spicy was an omg-this-is-sooo-good mumble at first bite because the spice level was perfect, the chicken thighs succulent and meaty, and that sauce was a savory flavor bomb. I've always been a curry or tikki masala kind of chicken eater but this Butter Chicken blows those away. A must try. Good grief I'm salivating writing about it. The Garlic Naan was a perfect sauce-sopper for the Butter Chicken. I wish they offered pots of fresh chutneys with the naan, but that's ok. That's really minor. Lemon Rice sounded fresh and refreshing but holy spice, Batman! It was unexpectedly deliciously hot and had a deep lemon flavor. Cooked with whole roasted spices, slices of peppers and curry leaves this was a top favorite. Some of the whole spice things (not sure what they were tbh) were hard but most added a crunchy texture. The soups I had, Sweet Corn Soup and Hot & Sour Soup were home runs. Both had plenty of veggies and packed a spicy kick. The H&S soup was not like you'll get at Chinese or other Asian restaurants, but it was hot and not sour. It's just different but still so delicious. There are so many vegetarian dishes on the menu everyone should be able to eat well.

Unfortunately I received two chicken tikka masala, not the butter chicken. Additionally there was no rice for the order. My husband called to let them know the order was not correct and Kadai said what we received WAS butter chicken-- apparently they use the same sauce for both butter chicken and tikka masala? Hmm. We'd had the butter chicken just last week so we know what that tastes like- it's super good! And we've had the chicken tikka from Kadai before (see my previous review) and it has a distinct taste that I don't personally prefer. Kadai was adamant that the only difference between the two is that chicken tikka has onions and bell pepper. Inconsistent experience and disappointing customer service.

We did the non-vegetarian option. Everything was quite spicy and really good. I was a little worried initially that there wasn't enough food, but we had quite some leftovers. We paid close to ~$180. I love being able to try alot of different types of dishes from the restaurant. We waited a while before they carried this huge tray out and 3 people needed to carry it. It was a little difficult for the tray to fit our table because it was so big and our table was a long rectangle so people's plates were kind of in an awkward angle but not really sure how to solve this logistics issue.

The young host was running around looking very flustered, which made the vibe feel way more chaotic. Thankfully, it looked like the owner noticed and helped take over organizing the staff and getting guests arranged at tables. We noticed they have a really fun cafe setup called The Corner Café with its own window in the corner. It was closed when we were there, but it turns out they actually operate as a full-service artisan coffee shop during the morning and afternoon, serving Spyhouse coffee and pastries before shifting entirely to fine dining at night! For dinner, my husband ordered the sticky cauliflower as an appetizer and declared it "the best cauliflower 'chicken' bites he's ever had"--he also absolutely loved the white sauce it came with. He also got the mango yuzu drink which was super refreshing. For entrees, we ordered the coconut curry, which had a great flavor and wasn't overly sweet (which can sometimes happen when a kitchen overdoes the coconut milk). I ordered the Delhi butter chicken. The waiter mentioned that their spice scale is a "Minnesota spice" scale, so I felt safe upgrading to medium since I usually order mild. Flavor-wise, it had a bit too much tomato flavor for my personal preference, but it was still well prepared and the pieces of chicken had a lovely, smoky flavor.

We started off with the vegetable platter, which features three delicious vegetarian appetizers. In addition to vegetable pakoras and samosas, there was bhajita, spinach and onion stuffed potato wedges. These came with delicious little cups of chutney--one mint and one tamarind. This appetizer was a hit, even for the most devoted carnivore in the party. We also tried the pashwari naan--it's a sweet naan that is filled with coconut and golden raisins. My mom in particular loved it. It would be a wonderful foil for a spicy curry. For our mains, mom ordered the kebab, which came with dal (we picked the golden lentil dal, and I might possibly have had "just a taste" several times. (Verdict: it's yummy!) I ordered the paneer chili balti, a comforting balti that is sweet, savory, and salty with warming spices. The rice was also exactly right--fluffy, perfectly salted, and just the right texture. We also got the mango chutney, which is a tart, sweet, salty, savory, amazing flavor bomb. Try it at least once. For dessert, we shared the kulfee and ras malai. These aren't on the menu at every Indian restaurant, and since first having tried them (at India Palace, in fact), I know that they'll always be my first choice when I see them, especially the kulfee. Holy wow. As usual, the service was great--friendly, attentive, prompt, and helpful, the staff here makes sure you get what you need. Despite the fairly full house, it was easy to have a conversation. This is a relaxing place to enjoy a meal. The music is quiet, the decor interesting, and the seating comfortable.
