This place does a good job with the kind of Indian fare you'd expect to find in a Midwestern suburb. Prices are very reasonable and quality is consistent. I've only gotten takeout but the dining room has always looked busy with contented diners. Menu is large and full of the typical entrees, and they seem to pride themselves on their goat dishes. When I request medium spice level, I do indeed get what I expect "medium" to taste like; my sister ordered something "mild" and was surprised that it was more like "zero spice", but I think that's fine. Their menu does have a few unique items like the "Delhi's Dhaba Chicken" I just had, but it didn't taste extremely different from something more familiar. Whatever; I'm glad there is a place in this area with good Indian food at good prices and served quickly.

The decor is what you expect in a strip mall restaurant. The food was delicious with a large menu to choose from. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be visiting again.

Got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan for dinner. It was pretty good, but very oily, see pic, I've never had a chicken tikka so oily before. Overall it was good but not the best I've had.

The well prepared but utterly bland Aloo Gobi Manchurian

Ordered delivery from Tamarind. The food did arrive hot, but the Indian goodness sort of stopped there. I ordered Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower) which is usually a pleasantly spiced dry curry. They got the dry curry part right, but somehow the pleasant spices must've gotten left in the bazaar in Punjab. I think it was the blandest Indian food I've ever eaten. The naan was alright, the papad had nice flavor but the chutneys were kind of meh. Overall I'd try the restaurant again, the preparation and cooking techniques were good the flavor and spice profiles were non-existent.

Went into this place on my sisters recommendation while we were visiting MN, and ended up going there the next day too. Their paneer and Pindi Chole are the best. We ordered Tawa paneer and Pindi Chole on both days. The customer service wasn't great but has a good ambiance and the food we tried were all good.

This new little gem is hidden in a strip mall across from Pinstripes. The parking situation was dangerous and difficult but oh was it worth it! The delicious aromas that waft past you as soon as you walk in the door help you know you made the correct decision for dinner. Everything sounded so amazing on the menu it was tough to choose! I went for the Tamarind Special because I got veggie curry & cheese naan with a variety of tandoori meats: chicken on the bone, shrimp, salmon, and chicken breast pieces. I said mild but everything was so flavorful I probably could have gotten medium spice and did just fine. My friend ordered chicken korma with garlic naan and we shared. Everything was cooked to perfection! The chicken from the tandoori fell off the bone! The veggie curry had a great mix of veggies and both naan choices were sublime. If you are shopping in the area definitely track down this delicious Indian restaurant for a meal.

Tamarind is a small little place in a nice little section of Edina offering a huge menu of Indian food. Service was pretty decent, although not anything to write home about. As for the food, the lamb samosas were a solid 4-star. They were quite large, as well, for the price. Flavor was on point and solid consistency in the filling. The Delhi Butter Chicken wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped, and wish maybe I'd tried another dish. It wasn't bad, but nothing stood out. Was a little bit dull relative to other similar dishes I've had. All in all, this place is a solid addition to a somewhat lacking Twin Cities Indian scene.

First the Butter Chicken spicy was an omg-this-is-sooo-good mumble at first bite because the spice level was perfect, the chicken thighs succulent and meaty, and that sauce was a savory flavor bomb. I've always been a curry or tikki masala kind of chicken eater but this Butter Chicken blows those away. A must try. Good grief I'm salivating writing about it. The Garlic Naan was a perfect sauce-sopper for the Butter Chicken. I wish they offered pots of fresh chutneys with the naan, but that's ok. That's really minor. Lemon Rice sounded fresh and refreshing but holy spice, Batman! It was unexpectedly deliciously hot and had a deep lemon flavor. Cooked with whole roasted spices, slices of peppers and curry leaves this was a top favorite. Some of the whole spice things (not sure what they were tbh) were hard but most added a crunchy texture. The soups I had, Sweet Corn Soup and Hot & Sour Soup were home runs. Both had plenty of veggies and packed a spicy kick. The H&S soup was not like you'll get at Chinese or other Asian restaurants, but it was hot and not sour. It's just different but still so delicious. There are so many vegetarian dishes on the menu everyone should be able to eat well.

Unfortunately I received two chicken tikka masala, not the butter chicken. Additionally there was no rice for the order. My husband called to let them know the order was not correct and Kadai said what we received WAS butter chicken-- apparently they use the same sauce for both butter chicken and tikka masala? Hmm. We'd had the butter chicken just last week so we know what that tastes like- it's super good! And we've had the chicken tikka from Kadai before (see my previous review) and it has a distinct taste that I don't personally prefer. Kadai was adamant that the only difference between the two is that chicken tikka has onions and bell pepper. Inconsistent experience and disappointing customer service.

It's a yogurt-based curry with CRISPY pakora in it. I came here thinking "any restaurant can make pakora, it's literally just deep-fried, battered vegetables." This was a mistake I have already lived to regret. Before I describe the food, I'll note that I ordered online and was advised to pick it up in 20-35 minutes. I arrived on the later end of this range. I went into the restaurant and no one was seated inside, but it was a Monday night so maybe that's a quiet day for them. I went up to the counter to pick up my order. There was nobody there but someone came out after I rang the bell. I picked up my order and went home, not thinking to check it. I arrived home with the goods in hand. My mother opened it and gave me a look of disappointment, contempt, and disgust. The pakora was cold, limp, and not battered. It seemed like it was microwaved or even just taken straight out of the fridge. We still made the curry, but it was an abomination. I've never had pakora this bad. If you're looking for Indian food in the metro, go literally anywhere else or my Indian mother will be disappointed in you, too.

The young host was running around looking very flustered, which made the vibe feel way more chaotic. Thankfully, it looked like the owner noticed and helped take over organizing the staff and getting guests arranged at tables. We noticed they have a really fun cafe setup called The Corner Café with its own window in the corner. It was closed when we were there, but it turns out they actually operate as a full-service artisan coffee shop during the morning and afternoon, serving Spyhouse coffee and pastries before shifting entirely to fine dining at night! For dinner, my husband ordered the sticky cauliflower as an appetizer and declared it "the best cauliflower 'chicken' bites he's ever had"--he also absolutely loved the white sauce it came with. He also got the mango yuzu drink which was super refreshing. For entrees, we ordered the coconut curry, which had a great flavor and wasn't overly sweet (which can sometimes happen when a kitchen overdoes the coconut milk). I ordered the Delhi butter chicken. The waiter mentioned that their spice scale is a "Minnesota spice" scale, so I felt safe upgrading to medium since I usually order mild. Flavor-wise, it had a bit too much tomato flavor for my personal preference, but it was still well prepared and the pieces of chicken had a lovely, smoky flavor.
