Went for lunch buffet and was satisfied with the options. There were a lot of rice and starch options as well as sauces to top the rice. The naan could've been better, it was a little chewy and dry, but I think that's just part of providing a bread option at an open buffet format. The chicken legs were spicy enough -- I like spice and even for me the spice level accumulated. The service was good -- I was welcomed, seated, and water refilled. While the restaurant was not packed, it was full of patrons dining in and picking up takeout orders. It seemed to be a nice flow. I'm interested in coming back and trying items from the main menu.

India Spice was a surprise find for some Indian food. Menu was quite extensive, prices were in the middle, and centrally located near Eden Prairie mall. Ordered - Fish Masala (3.5/5). It was fragrant, spicy, and creamy. There was a decent amount of fish and went well with the rice. - Vegetarian Samosa (2/5). This was quite disappointing. There were only two pieces and it was a little bare bones in terms of flavor and substance. - Naan (3.5/5). Good but needed more bread. Service was a little challenging and took some extra effort to get a to-go box and so. This was an a-ok restaurant.

Came on a day where most of the dishes were exceptional. The eggplant dish couldn't be ordered less than blazing hot (wish I knew before I dug in!). The Lassi was not great. The roti was so-so. Main dishes on the other hand were da bomb.

Their Kodi Vepudu is a must have! We found the dish flavorful and fried to perfection. It was a great way to start our dinner, a perfectly cooked chicken dish. We also tried the Shrimp Pepper Fry and Chicken 65. The former was tasty and the latter felt like Vepudu in 65 sauce. Their Mutton Pepper Fry Biryani stood out for us. The rice was well done with loads of Ghee and tasted great. The Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani was also good but comes second to the mutton in terms of taste. Overall a great Indian food experience in Eden Prairie. Will come back again.

I went here with a friend after wanting to try an Indian Buffet in the twin cities area. A coworker of his recommended India Spice House. The food was pretty good. There was a decent variety of vegetarian options. My friend wished there were more meat options, especially for the price. The buffet was $25. The most we've ever paid for a lunch buffet! The staff were nice and answered questions on some of the items on the buffet that we were unsure about ingredients on. The place was pretty clean. Overall not a bad place to eat, although I've had better. My main reason for the current rating is honestly the price for what we received. Pretty steep for a predominantly vegetarian lunch buffet.

If you are put off by lunch buffets, I think India Spice House might change your mind. We came here for a work related lunch with a group of eight people. The place is huge and we were easily seated at large table. There is a main dining area and also space in back. I had no idea that this place was this big looking at it from the strip mall entrance. You can order off the menu or go for the massive buffet. Which of course we all did. The selection of foods was pretty amazing. They don't skimp on anything here with all kinds of chicken, fish and vegetarian options. There is a fried cauliflower dish that was so good. At least four different kinds of rice was available the day we were there. And naan which was fresh and continually replenished. You can kind of tell the heat level of the dishes by looking at the number of chiles or the amount of chili oil present. Some dishes were hot and everything was really well seasoned. This buffet is a super way to try a number of things and then get more of what you like. And there is dessert buffet as well! Lots of fresh fruits and a mango cake that was delicious. All this at lunch was $14. There is also a grocery store attached to the restaurant. I did not go in but it looked good too. I recommend you try the India Spice House.

I ordered the aloo benda, onion kulcha, raita, and chicken vindaloo. The aloo benda was on point. The potato/pea mixture was nicely spiced as was the mint chutney. The tamarind chutney was a little disappointing as no one flavor stood out from the others. I thought the entree portion was slightly more generous than other Indian restaurants I've been to. I ordered mine medium spicy. Unfortunately, there was a spice they used while cooking that was very overwhelming. It gave the dish heat, but didn't provide anything but heat. The chicken and potatoes were both well cooked. The onion kulcha was cooked well and had a nice amount of cilantro to compliment the bread. Raita was very good as well--the thinner kind which I prefer...and an appropriate amount of cucumber and onion. The carrots were in chunks--I favor shredded, but it wasn't a detracting factor. The service team was very thorough in checking on me through my meal, keeping my water glass filled, and providing appropriate containers to box up my leftovers. May try again with a different entree and/or spice level. $5 off if you spend $30 through Yelp.

We started off with the vegetable platter, which features three delicious vegetarian appetizers. In addition to vegetable pakoras and samosas, there was bhajita, spinach and onion stuffed potato wedges. These came with delicious little cups of chutney--one mint and one tamarind. This appetizer was a hit, even for the most devoted carnivore in the party. We also tried the pashwari naan--it's a sweet naan that is filled with coconut and golden raisins. My mom in particular loved it. It would be a wonderful foil for a spicy curry. For our mains, mom ordered the kebab, which came with dal (we picked the golden lentil dal, and I might possibly have had "just a taste" several times. (Verdict: it's yummy!) I ordered the paneer chili balti, a comforting balti that is sweet, savory, and salty with warming spices. The rice was also exactly right--fluffy, perfectly salted, and just the right texture. We also got the mango chutney, which is a tart, sweet, salty, savory, amazing flavor bomb. Try it at least once. For dessert, we shared the kulfee and ras malai. These aren't on the menu at every Indian restaurant, and since first having tried them (at India Palace, in fact), I know that they'll always be my first choice when I see them, especially the kulfee. Holy wow. As usual, the service was great--friendly, attentive, prompt, and helpful, the staff here makes sure you get what you need. Despite the fairly full house, it was easy to have a conversation. This is a relaxing place to enjoy a meal. The music is quiet, the decor interesting, and the seating comfortable. All in all, the cure for a bad week!

First the Butter Chicken spicy was an omg-this-is-sooo-good mumble at first bite because the spice level was perfect, the chicken thighs succulent and meaty, and that sauce was a savory flavor bomb. I've always been a curry or tikki masala kind of chicken eater but this Butter Chicken blows those away. A must try. Good grief I'm salivating writing about it. The Garlic Naan was a perfect sauce-sopper for the Butter Chicken. I wish they offered pots of fresh chutneys with the naan, but that's ok. That's really minor. Lemon Rice sounded fresh and refreshing but holy spice, Batman! It was unexpectedly deliciously hot and had a deep lemon flavor. Cooked with whole roasted spices, slices of peppers and curry leaves this was a top favorite. Some of the whole spice things (not sure what they were tbh) were hard but most added a crunchy texture. The soups I had, Sweet Corn Soup and Hot & Sour Soup were home runs. Both had plenty of veggies and packed a spicy kick. The H&S soup was not like you'll get at Chinese or other Asian restaurants, but it was hot and not sour. It's just different but still so delicious. There are so many vegetarian dishes on the menu everyone should be able to eat well.

Unfortunately I received two chicken tikka masala, not the butter chicken. Additionally there was no rice for the order. My husband called to let them know the order was not correct and Kadai said what we received WAS butter chicken-- apparently they use the same sauce for both butter chicken and tikka masala? Hmm. We'd had the butter chicken just last week so we know what that tastes like- it's super good! And we've had the chicken tikka from Kadai before (see my previous review) and it has a distinct taste that I don't personally prefer. Kadai was adamant that the only difference between the two is that chicken tikka has onions and bell pepper. Inconsistent experience and disappointing customer service.

We loved almost everything we tried. They have a fairly extensive menu, with lots of apps, street foods, curries, and some surprise dishes that aren't so easily found at other Indian spots. We tried the dahi puri, paneer makhani, tandoori murg, makki roti with sarson ka saag, and several naan. The paneer was creamy with tons of flavor, and my husband said the roti with saag dish reminded him of home - big win! The dahi puri was cool and brightly flavored and crunchy and creamy, perfect starter on a hot day. The only thing I would maybe pass on is the tandoori chicken - while it came out sizzling with a great char, it had some strange flavors, almost like they mixed in chili Gobi or something with it? Not bad, just not what was expected, especially since everything else really hit it out of the park. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at an off time, but started to fill up quickly as we approached dinner time. Family friendly, as we brought our baby and felt comfortable with her both in a wagon and high chair, the service was kind and very accommodating.
