This was the worst place I've had for "fast"Mexican food. It's set up like Chipotle with bowl and taco options, where you go down the line and choose your meat, veggies and toppings. I had three supposedly chicken tacos. But the tortillas were like dish rags. I was there at 3 PM and it looked as though the veggies had been out for hours and swapped with fresh ingredients. The guacamole was gray. I didn't even order it. The chips were unevenly cooked. Some oily and some dry. Perhaps it was the time of day, but I felt like I was getting the leftovers of the leftovers. The counters and the tables were dirty. The person who prepared my tacos was barely able to assemble them. Avoid this place. If you're going to eat this type of food, just go over to Chipotle. read more

A good stop for taco bowls in Evanston. Was definitely trying to stave off hunger when I went to Dos bros. The staff was friendly and loaded up my taco bowl. Thought the sauces were fresh and added some good flavor. (Btw green cream colored sauce - beware it's spicy!). I'm usually a fan of spice but that green salsa really packed some surprising heat! I had the carnitas which was pretty good. Very spacious and comfortable to eat at on a hot summer day. Was quiet when I arrived - ~3-4pm on a Saturday. Excellent fast casual food! I was surprised when they opened just around the corner from an existing Chipotle, with a menu that's almost identical. But the quality, seating area/ambiance, and service are better and portion sizes are way bigger. Especially since the Evanston Chipotle is more miserable and stingier version of a typical Chipotle, Dos Bros stands out as the perfect alternative. Plus, they offer chopped cilantro and fresh jalepenos. Tonight, my carnitas bowl was so huge I could only finish half of it. My kids, who normally don't like tortillas with meat inside ate up their steak tacos. I like the chips, which are thicker than Chipotle's, and have a hint of lime. And I appreciate that the containers and utensils are compostable. We'll be adding Dos Bros to our regular rotation of weekend takeout spots. read more

Pretty good! This place is a near copy of Chipotle so if you have been there, you've been here. I would say that this place seems a little more consistent with their food. I have had really good meals at Chipotle and really bad ones. Dos Bros seems to be in the middle which is good. I am actually surprised how NOT spicy it was. I got a barbacoa bowl like I do at Chipotle, but kind of missed the spice. I think Chipotle uses alot of limes which DosBros doesn't. Price wise, they're about the same, but I would give DosBros a bit of an edge because I think it was a little cheaper. Again, I thought my food was good and it is a great alternative to Chipotle, but I felt that it was a little too safe. I will be back of course! read more

I'll start off by saying that the food looked like it had been sitting out for quite a while which made me pause, but I still decided to proceed with my order. It tasted okay, but certainly not great or even good. It's almost impossible to differentiate the difference in taste between DosBros and Chipotle . Just medicore food really. Personally, I didn't think the portions were any bigger than Chiptole as other reviews mentioned. The price was a lot higher than Chiptole. Also, I didn't realize they charged extra for queso in a bowl. I figured they charged extra for guac so I splurged a little, but with the unexpected charge for queso, the total was almost $17 for a bowl! I wish the employee would have explained the extra charge for queso. In any case, I won't be back. I'd take Qdoba over this place or Chiptole any day of the week. read more

Thanks to Yelp I found this gem! It's my first time trying this restaurant, and I'm so glad I did. The staff here were really friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended that I go with the bowl for my first time, and it reminds me of a better version of Chipotle. I had white rice for the base and their spicy chicken (it's so tender with just the right amount of flavor, spice and kick, and he even sampled me which I appreciate) for protein. They are also really generous with the portions, and everything was packaged nicely for me to take to go. I ordered a side of chips and guacamole, and their guacamole was fresh and delicious. Parking is also easy to find right outside on the street that is metered or in a public garage. They also have other locations across the Chicagoland area. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for fast casual Mexican cuisine and would totally come back when I'm in the area next. read more

Walked out of the dirty Chipotle down the street and into DosBros. I thought it was weird they are so close to each but other makes sense now.. dos will be much more successful. We were surprised it was empty at noon but we were glad we chose to eat here. Fresh ingredients were welcome and generously heaped on our burritos. I especially liked the freshly chopped red onion and cilantro. The spicy chicken wasn't very spicy but I was still pleased with my choice. We had Dos Bros cater a dinner for 25 teens at our house. We ordered the Uno - a burrito bar spread. It was delicious. The ordering process was easy, the food was ready on time, packaged well, easy to transport home, very hot/cold as appropriate and plentiful. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy way to feed a large crowd - especially if that crowd includes teenagers, who seemed to love all the options they could create from the food included in the burrito bar (most of which was vegetarian aside from the chicken that we chose as our protein). 10/10 recommend. Looking at the yelp reviews, this looks just like a small business Chiptole. And that is what it is. However, how I would assess DosBros is to imagine that every ingredient you got at Chipotle was 50% better. DosBros cheese was freshly grated (not from a bag), meat tasted fresher, guacamole tastier. Again, nothing surprising or really different but just everything was 50% better. I think the price was pretty comparable to Chipotle also. I'm not putting down Chipotle...I like Chipotle! Anyone who likes Chipotle should give Dos Bros Evanston a try! This place is fresher, cleaner, and just nicer all around. The employees are courteous and kind, never rushing you and never rolling their eyes at your requests. The burritos are actually ROLLED WELL and do not fall apart. The quesadillas are excellent and they will put ANYTHING you want inside of them. Queso, fresh guacamole ... it's ALL here! Finally tried Do Bros and so glad I did. If you are looking for Chipotle type offerings, forget Chipotle (which is right around the corner and among the most disappointing Chipotles around) and run to Dos Bros. Every ingredient in the steak bowl I had was appreciably better than the best version I've had at any Chipotle and it was a bit cheaper on top of it. Everyone was extremely happy with the lunch. We often need to order catering for similar types of gatherings, but Dos Bros quickly became our favorite place.
