Good breakfast burrito that contained rice, beans, egg, cheese and avocado, so was very filling. At about $9, this is the way to start your day.

I placed a to-go order from My Little Kitchen and tried the chicken tinga taco and the steak torta. The total came out to around $20 with tax, which felt a bit steep considering the portion sizes. The chicken tinga taco was flavorful and satisfying--definitely the highlight of the order. The steak torta, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. While it had tasty elements like guacamole, grilled cheese, and jalapeños, it seriously lacked steak. For a steak torta, there was very little actual steak, and what was there got lost in the mix of everything else. That said, the flavor overall was solid. The red salsa had a nice kick and tied things together well. I'd consider giving them another try, but I'd hope for better value and balance in the ingredients next time.

We walked here. The place is darling. We started with chicken mole enchiladas. Now we're ordering chicken burritos . The staff are sweet as can be and it is authentic and cozy . Tiny place with 5 tables and can seat 14 people . Portions are normal . I prefer very large lol We will be back.

We had food from My Little Kitchen for a work event. All of the tacos were individually wrapped. I thought the beans were good, the guacamole was fresh and tasty. The shrimp (fried) tacos were good, with a nice amount of shrimp as well as the traditional onions and cilantro. The pastor tacos were ok, filled with a lot of meat although I found it dry. I thought each taco was a good portion. Overall I found the food tasty, although I would want to either eat in (sounds like it is a small place), or order a combination of food to go. I'll have to visit My Little Kitchen in person.

Chicken Enchiladas de Mole Poblano with Chicken and Rice and Beans. Side of Lettuce and tomato.

I wanted to like this spot more than I did. I have been looking for another Mexican restaurant for carryout- saw this had good reviews and was worth checking out. Its really tiny and located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. It has about 2-3 tables inside, but is really setup for carryout. We ordered a steak taco plate and chicken enchiladas with a side of tomato/lettuce. These dishes both came with rice and beans. The enchiladas are all mole sauce (no verde, red sauce etc) you are only able to choose the meat option, but cant mix and match meats like other places allow. The mole chicken enchilada itself was pretty good. The mole sauce has a deep slightly spicy flavor that goes well with the shredded chicken. I asked for extra cheese on top, which Im glad I did. I also added sour cream from my fridge when I got home as nothing was included. What completely fell short was the rice and beans. Main issue was lack of flavor and dry- So much so my boyfriend grabbed seasoning from the cabinet to add to it. Unfortunately, the pic looks better than how it actually tasted flavor wise. My boyfriend did say his steak tacos were good, but with all the mexican restaurant options in the chicagoland area I wouldnt go out of my way to go back. Overall experience 3/5.

Such an amazingly delicious hidden gem! Tinga tacos are so good, nor spicy which is how I prefer them. Super reasonable pricing and very sweet woman taking the orders and possibly cooking as well. Don't miss out on this place, it's no frills and limited seating but really solid mexican food that I will keep coming back for. You don't expect places like this to exist in the burbs but so glad I found it!

03/15/22 - My wife, brother in law & I were looking for a a Mexican restaurant (Taco Tuesday) to grab a bite to eat in the area near Old Orchard Theater as we were going to go there to see the new Batman movie. We found My Little Kitchen in a strip mall @ 4031 W Dempster Avenue in Skokie. We were the only people eating in the restaurant as they had a very small dining room. They seemed to do a fairly brisk carry out as several people came in and took their order to go. We all ordered a 3 taco dinners, 2 pastor orders & 1 asada order. As usual the meals came w/rice & beans. No tortilla chips or salsa w/the meal. (Bummer) The woman that took our order was non existent after we placed the order. She disappeared into the back room & we had to call her to come back out. The sad part is that Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately neither the food or the service was anything that would make us want us to come back. The tacos were dry w/very little seasoning, the corn tortillas were also dry & didn't seem very fresh. The beans were pretty good but the rice was bland.

Amazing service, the owner is so sweet. The food is even better! Thank you for a great lunch, we will definitely be back! Oh, also very knowledgeable about gluten free! The tacos and nachos are both gluten free (and to die for).

They added an enclosed outdoor seating area, Thats lets you enjoy the breeze or sun, but protects you from the rain. It used to be a tent, so this is definitely nicer. My wife and I were seated immediately. The server quickly brought us water and garlic bread. I really like that they give you 5 fairly big pieces of garlic bread for only two people. Nice touch. We were not in a hurry and couldn't decide what we wanted so we started with the calamari salad. $29, but it's huge and chock full of those calamari guys. Lettuce is always crisp and has everything I like in it (olives, eggs, carrots, artichoke, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and romaine lettuce). We were almost full just from the salad alone. I ordered a grouper sandwich (not fried), and my lovely wife ordered the Scottish salmon plate, which comes with potatoes and grilled vegetables. My sandwich came with coleslaw and fresh cut fries. They switched to fresh cut since my last visit, and this was an upgrade. My sandwich was great, and huge too. Could not finish it. Wife's meal was a humongous slab of salmon. The veggies now come on a smaller plate, but that's okay, given the size of the fish. Service was a tad slow, but like I said, we weren't in any hurry. Total tab was $100, with tax and that pesky 3% service fee. I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The main dining room has a view of the kitchen, and the second dining room is adjacent to the bar. I recommend the bar, as I am not a fan of open kitchens and if you are lucky you can get a table against the windows, secluded from the hubbub. It is a loud, energetic space. They have a solid cocktail program, particularly their riff on a Black Manhattan with bourbon and Demerara - a refugee from an Old Fashioned. I recommend swapping out bourbon for rye and holding the Demerara - its an excellent drink. A good collection of Italian and American wines. We ordered the Lemelson, a light bodied Pinot from Willamette Valley. It paired well with the lobster ravioli special and roast chicken. For food, we ordered the aforementioned entrees, and started with the meatballs and the beet salad. The meatballs were superb, flavorful and juicy. The beet salad was delicious, as were the entrees. Just a note, they have a very heavy hand with the sauces. The lobster ravioli came with a cognac cream sauce that painted the plate. It had much more tomato than I was led to believe but the dish was still very good. Kelly had the red wine reduction on the side for her chicken, and it was a veritable bowl of soup! The mushrooms are actually in the sauce, and it has a strong bitter flavor - I liked it but it was not Kelly's favorite. Still, a very good dish. We went light for dessert and had a scoop of gelato and a scoop of sorbet. They were both excellent. Service is friendly, the tables have plenty of space between them and the restrooms are accessible. No valet, but a free city lot is a short block away and street parking is available. We basically met to have some drinks and catch up but I would have welcomed a few more choices. The staff was very attentive and friendly and even sent out some complimentary bruschetta. There is plentiful free parking. It's great to have another restaurant in this area of downtown Skokie. Though I didn't have dinner, my friends recommend it!

He then told us he didn't know if he could get them out before our entrees since he already put in the order. Well he asked, didn't he? I'm going to first say that I think they might have something wrong with their back of the house. I say this because yes the service was not great. The waiter seemed to really not be trained properly as far as when to stop by the table and what to ask and prolonged our supposedly quick lunch by way too long because he was so distracted by other things. But the back of the house thing, there were four of us. We ordered five things and only one of the dishes was normal. The Burger. Quite good. Everything else felt soggy and undercooked. I don't know why this is. But one of the things we got was a pizza and the pizza was so wet and soggy that we couldn't even pick up the slices. Didn't eat any of it, just sent it back and the funny part is is 10 feet away from us there was literally another table with a similar pizza that they did the exact same thing but they didn't send it back. Theirs was just left on the table uneaten as they walked out. The menu isn't interesting enough to make us ever want to go back and to top it off there's a 18% service charge put on there that is the tip for the server but doesn't say gratuity and we asked about that and it turns out it's the gratuity that's already included in every bill. This place is a mess. Maybe this isn't represent other locations but this location is a dumpster fire.
