In spite of lackluster service and a lack of preffered product, shopped here enough to earn rewards due to the location. Oh, and the prices are essentially TWICE than at other shops (for the items I buy). They have a rewards program -- I earned a$5 reward. In fact it's been on my account for some time but the clerks never mention it at check out. When I asked to redeem it yesterday, I was told I must first spend at least $5 to get the $5 reward on screen--a reward that presumably to me was there because enough $ was spent to accrue it ALREADY. If it was a special offer of "spend $5; get $5 free", it would've said that on screen, would it not??? Another visit, the cashier was insisting that I had to provide a review in order to receive the points bonus (I pointed to the screen, read it out loud, and was handed the free item). Once the owner of the store huffed and puffed because he didn't want to deal with the change portion of the transaction. Plus a strong smell of sewage for weeks floods the store; disgusting, repulsive, and inconsiderate to your employees and customers to not correct the issue with urgency, which is what your employees have if they can't use the bathroom. I moved to Austin about 6 months ago and just went in my 3rd and favorite smoke shop. I cannot say anything bad about the other ones. They all were super nice and had good merchandise. However, the vibe was just above and beyond. The guy, Mohammed, I'm assuming he was the owner but who knows, who helped me had a smile that lit up the room. He made me feel welcome, he was helpful and just seemed grateful for my business. On top of that, their selection killed it. Whatever IDIOT worked the shift on 11/30 at 10pm decided that he was going to hang the phone up on me when I had inquiries on a product at their store. When I called back and asked for his name he REFUSED to give it to me and continuously asked, "WHY,why,but why". I'm not sure what kind of business he's trying to run, but the customer service he provided was not only rude but it was DISRESPECTFUL. In the middle of my question he tells me he doesn't know then hangs up? Because he was so busy at 10pm right? Absolutely unacceptable. I rarely use yelp, but his service is so consistently outstanding that I finally decided it would be a sin if I didn't leave him the review he deserves. Double apple has everything you need. I was hesitant to purchase CBD because of the fact that it's hard to know what you're actually getting but Mohammad made this process completely transparent and SIMPLE. Best prices BY FAR, also a great selection, every kind of coal you could ever want to try and the guy who runs it knows all there is to know. I get recommendations and answers every time I have any questions. Around here that kind of knowledge is gold. Most smoke shops only carry hookah stuff to pad out the title. I also appreciate the late hours. I often find myself in the mood for a smoke and out of something late. I've been here a few times since it's so close to my house. Half the time I go in they are talking to someone else, and don't acknowledge me for the 10 minutes I'm waiting until I leave. When I do get lucky and get service the prices are sometimes good and other times high depending on the product. If you have time to go anywhere there's actually multiple people working, I would do that. It's usually worth my time to drive the 5 minutes to Oat Willey's on Burnet if it's not rush hour. read more

I purchased a hookah from here and my friend purchased a piece for the stem of her hookah. The store owner spent the longest time trying to convince her that it was the right size for her hookah and she assured him it wasn't. He wouldn't take no from her and she purchased it and it didn't fit as she thought. I came back a second time with that same friend and her boyfriend, who knows the employee. This time I came back to purchase another hookah and he was as unpleasant this time around as he was the last time. We all told him that particular piece did not fit and that another one he was trying to sell wouldn't fit either. He wouldn't listen to our concerns and kept trying to sell us on his products. I then went on to inquire about hookahs and he showed us one. He went to help another customer then came back while my friend's boyfriend and I were on the phone. He said he wouldn't match online prices and I said we weren't asking him to. He then cut me off and said, "Excuse me but I'm not speaking to you. I'm speaking to your friend." I told him I was purchasing the product and he said once again he wasn't talking to me but was to my friend'a boyfriend, because he has known him for awhile. And I told him that he didn't clarify who he was speaking to and he told me a third time it wasn't me. My two friends and I have never heard a store owner speak so rudely to a customer before. It was apparent to us all that he is extremely misogynistic since he kept telling my friend info about the product when I made it clear I was purchasing. He also only snapped at me and not the others. I've spent so much money here and told friends to come here but I will never step foot in there again. My friend who has also known him for a long time also promised he would never give him business ever again either, because that behavior was extremely unacceptable. Way better customer service in every other smoke shop in Austin. This one is definitely one worth avoiding, especially if you're a woman that knows your hookah.
