Food is average but sits out for long periods tarnishing the color, texture, and flavor. The chief liens into a lot of salt, so the food here will raise your blood pressure, be careful. Service is good, but the dining room climate contols are set high, so expect to sweat profusely when you dine in. I was soaked within 5 minutes of sitting down. I moved to the area last fall and I saw this place on the way to the house I moved into. My then fiance (now wife) got takeout from here last December or this past January and have gotten it one or two other times since. I love Chinese food and the food here is okay. It's not terrible but I've had better. The other Saturday I decided I wanted their buffet for lunch so my wife and I went. The selection and taste of the food was not worth the price! On the receipt it just showed two weekend buffets and the total price and when you do the math it breaks down to $13.99 per person. Our server was very nice and attentive and did a great job at keeping my Pepsi refilled but the food just wasn't that good. I'm sure the regular menu items are excellent, here, though I've not tried them. Very clean, diligent kitchen, and a pleasant dining room. The buffet is my go-to, as there are always nice things on it, with occasional rotations of choices, and some excellent standard offerings. The seasoning is fairly toned down and Americanized, but there's always house-made chili oil and a choice of white or fried rice, so one can choose one's experience on the fly. Stopped here for lunch yesterday hoping that a Chinese buffet restaurant in little Timberville would be a stand out. I'm afraid to say I left pretty disappointed. I've just come to the realization that people seem to rate buffets as good no matter what. Most of the food items I tried were very bland with a couple of the chicken items not very hot at all. I was there at opening so everything should be fresh and hot, right? Nope. At least 1/3 to 1/2 of the items were not labeled so I wasn't sure what they were. I tried a couple of the desserts and as expected. Blah. This place isn't terrible at all if all you are looking for is a lot of food. Double Dragon is half take out,half buffet. It's slightly smaller than most that I've been to, but we liked pretty much everything we tasted. The buffet could have been improved with some organization: labels for each item so that we knew what we were eating, keeping desserts/main dishes separate. The desserts could have used a bit of work for sure, but they did have those amazing little fried donuts with sugar on the outside and they were great. It had been a while since we had been here. To be honest, last time we came it was not good at all. That being said, that was about 10 years ago. I don't know what they have changed but we decided to try their lunch buffet and I was very pleased! The food was hot and fresh and had really good flavor. We went in on a Saturday evening for the buffet; it was late and about 1/2 hour before closing time. There was hardly anything on the buffet and we were told that they were not refilling anything due to closing time. We should have just left then, but we had already started eating thinking that they could just ask what we wanted and make some small buffet portions fresh! It was horrible and cold and no selection what so ever. The worst part was...we were not the only ones there. There were at least 3 other people there for the buffet. We decided to give them a second chance recently due to them being the only Chinese game in town, but we went for takeout this time thinking it would be hot and fresh. It was very bland and the chicken in my husband's chicken and chinese vegetables was questionable if it was completely cooked! We used to live in Timberville and enjoyed eating in or getting take out from Double Dragon. The food is very good and the owners were very accommodating to our vegetarian needs. Even better then the food is the owner and his wife. They always show how much they care about us and our children whenever we visit. They also remember our order and start to make it almost immediately when we come in. We where just there last weekend after being away for about 2 years and they still remembered us and our favorite order. Great people! read more
