This gracious & humble host did not hesitate to invite us in (even my doggy!) and really take his time to show us the studio, explain the classes that are offered for ALL ages, and basically stress how serious they are about health and fitness with the biggest emphasis on stretching! Did you know that most injuries are caused due to lack of proper stretching? That is a fact. Anyway, I'm not really giving this studio due credit, so I would advise you to go in and see for yourself and support local businesses such as this one, - which is so passionate about the most worthy cause ever : our wellness & health which go hand in hand with happiness. :) Thank you, Bien!

The statement wall "Your Health is Your Wealth" is his personal philosophy. New clients at Bien Aime start with a 2-hour wellness assessment that covers every aspect of your fitness, physiology and nutrition so the team knows your "body age". This way they can design a regiment based on each individual's needs. During my first hour of training they had me doing it all! Rowing, stepping, stretching muscles I didn't have, working my arms, abs, glutes, legs...There isn't one part of me that isn't sore! But gosh does it feel good. The proof is in the sweat. If you want to seriously get in shape, Bien Aime is the place to do it.

Let's face it. I'm a "No Pain No Pain" kind of guy. My wife runs 10Ks on the regular; I don't even…read morelike to DRIVE 10K. Unfortunately, seeing my growing gut and my even faster growing kid, I realized that it's about time to do things. And since my aforementioned wife had already joined the Crossfit cult, she harangued me to join Crossfit Grant Street. Oh, don't think I didn't harbor a hefty dose of skepticism. It also didn't help that most of the people I'd already seen there during my initial assessments were wearing some old t-shirts of whatever college team they were on. Notice, I didn't say, "cheered on," I said, "were on." Was I ever on a college team? Does mathlete count? Beer pong? Not to mention, I went to college back in the pre-Internet dark ages, where faces and books were two different, unrelated things. So yeah, I may be new to the entire working out thing, but at least I'm also really, really old. As I said, skepticism. Fortunately, the gym owners/coaches understand my particular set of...challenges and adjust accordingly. It also helps to leave your ego at the door. Like when I told my doctor I started Crossfit at my annual physical (or what my millennial co-workers call it, "Wait, you go EVERY year?!"), doc responded, "At your age...." (Those sentences never end well. ) "...I don't usually think Crossfit is a good idea. You're surrounded by a bunch of 20 year olds and you try to do what they do and end up hurting yourself." I laughed and responded, "Uh, no. I know my limits. You forget that I've been married long enough that my ego was obliterated years ago. I've already accepted the fact that my wife can deadlift more than I can so I have no problem asking my coaches to scale it down." Doc gave her blessings after hearing that. So I'm a few months into it. I don't go to class every day, though I could if I wanted to. I have the shirt, but I feel bad wearing it since I haven't gotten rid of my gut yet. I've gotten to know many of my fellow gymmates and they're good folks; I don't think they realize how old and broken down I am, but the coaches do and that's what counts since they're the ones scaling my workouts. I'm not part of the cult, but all those years of fighting Sunday School class has built up my resistance towards indoctrination. Still, my body is reshaping itself slowly but surely. I may never be a jock (I'm too much of a nerd at heart), but I'm adding a few more attribute points to my character sheet. I'm all right with that.

First off, I am pretty great at writing reviews, so brace yourself! (this is literally my second…read morereview ever.... oops) I never thought In a million years that I would workout almost daily, let alone doing Crossfit. My husband has been doing CF for over 5 years, he's incredible at it...... and thats incredibly intimidating. I have seen the transformation from the front line, I wanted it, but the CF cultish, scary strong people thing scared the shit out of me!!!! So i joined ClassPass and literally tried everything I could, Spin, Yoga, Bare, Pilates, boxing, kickboxing and everything in between. I just wanted an effective program that would give me a bigger ass and a body that would fit into the category of 'sexy as F***'! Pretty obtainable goal right!! I can guarantee that if i walked into any other gym 4 months ago, I would still be sitting on the New Years resolution of 'Get in Shape'. Thankfully I walked into this amazing space, filled with positivity and encouragement. I genuinely enjoy spending the best/worst hour of my day with everyone at this gym! The coaches are wonderful people and they are pretty good at coaching too (really good). The gym is spacious & SUPER CLEAN. you may be working out somewhere else or maybe just wishing you worked out in general. The community that is CrossFit Grant Street will support you and push you to be the best version of yourself! I am still a long way from my dream ass and my sexy AF bod- but my mental, physical and emotional strength and well-being has grown immensely!!! I owe it to this Fit-Fam! and to myself! Life can be uncomfortable at times, and CrossFit Grant Street taught me how to thrive in that uncomfortable-ness. xoxo

Since I was already in the area for a nail appointment, I decided to look up the closest studio nearby, and that happened to be the Memorial location. Naturally, my first question was, "What's the parking situation?" Let's be honest--parking in Atlanta can make or break the experience. Thankfully, this location checked that box with ease. The studio is located in the shopping center with Publix and AMC, and there's a free parking garage available. The studio itself is directly across from the garage entrance, so it's only about a two- to three-minute walk depending on where you park. You'll head into the building and take either the elevator or the stairs up to the studio. Overall, it was very easy to find and super convenient. I took a Vinyasa Yin class with Megan, and she was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with such warmth and genuine kindness. Before class even started, she took the time to ask how my day was, and I immediately felt welcomed. Those little interactions really do make a difference, especially when you're visiting a location for the first time. Her energy throughout the class was just as amazing. She created such a calming, positive environment while still keeping everyone engaged. I found myself thinking halfway through class that I'd absolutely make the drive back just to take another class with her. Although the Memorial location isn't the closest studio to me, I wouldn't hesitate to return if I'm in the area again. Between the convenient parking, welcoming atmosphere, and Megan's incredible instruction, this was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

In Atlanta parking can prove to be difficult or very costly garages, but this location is in the Madison Yards complex and offers ample parking. There's a free parking garage directly across from the entry right next to the AMC. And if you'd like afterwards its not too far of a walk from the beltline and some brunch options. In regards to the space itself, it is very clean and offers lots of natural sunlight. The studio is spacious enough but can get pretty packed during their busy times. If you are new to Highland yoga they do have great newcomer specials to give it a try. This studio is also on Classpass which also seems to be a great value if you're interested in trying different classes and locations.
