David, the owner, seems like a nice guy, and he did a good job replacing the tiles on my bathroom floor, and he (mostly his assistant) did a lot of painting, which on the whole looks good. But see below... The big issues were what I discovered after he was finished and had left: fresh paint stains in multiple areas, including the wood floor of my 19th century house and even furniture - which I cleaned up. Splattered paint near the ceiling of my kitchen which still, three months later, has not been patched, paint stains on my oriental rug, a major purchase 40 years ago, etc. David said he would pay for the rug damage, and I only asked for 50% of the very reasonable $175 cleaning cost. David told me to bill him via Zelle, something I said I'm not sure how to do. He already has my Zelle information, since that's how I paid him for the work. But after messaging him and emailing several times, he has not responded. And I still have paint streaks on the wall and an unpaid bill. So I can't recommend Handy Gentlemen. I think part of the problem is that David is under-manned and a bit overwhelmed, but not responding to my messages is unprofessional.

Budget Handyman…read more Tyler is a soft spoken guy and respectful. When I first met him he seemed trustworthy, but my experience with Tyler was not good. Therefore, I want to make some points that may help you if you are thinking of hiring him. First of all, Tyler sometimes cancelled his appointments to do work, and when he did not cancel, he was always late. I received many excuses from Tyler for why he could not come, including that he was sick with food poisoning, that he was having car problems, and that he was having problems with his phone. He was very apologetic when late, but he rarely texted or called to let me know he would be late. Furthermore, he would tell me he was going to get lunch and come back in about a half hour, only to come back close to two hours later. All of this would not have bothered me if he had completed the work adequately and there had been no other problems. I hired him to do sound proofing on a wall, and he did a good job on the wall. However, while working on the wall he accidentally got drywall mudding on the ceiling. He then attempted to fix the marks on the ceiling by painting over them. The problem was that even though he tried two shades of paint, he failed to match the color, which left me with two shades of paint on the ceiling.That's when things went wrong. I suggested it might be easier just to paint the whole ceiling since he couldn't match the color, and he responded with a text saying my ceiling was not covered in the payment and if I needed the ceiling repainted I would have to pay extra. Even worse, he claimed there were scuff marks on the ceiling that weren't his fault, despite the fact that my entire condo, including the ceiling, was painted before I moved in in March of this year. In other words, he made a mistake and then blamed me instead of fixing his mistake. Unfortunately, I had already paid him for the job at this point, and he never did fix his mistake. Please take this into consideration before you hire Tyler, so that you don't have an experience like I did.

It's a good sign when they have a waiting list.   The attention to detail that Lenny's sister has while painting and caulking- it shows they take true pride in their work. When she would leave at the end of the day, she would wrap all her stuff up and leave the kitchen as nice as she could (all things considered). She understood we have 3 small kids (2yo,3yo,4yo) so we needed the kitchen accessible when they left. She made sure we could use it after they were gone for the day. The end product (as you can see from the photos) is beautiful. It looks even better in person! Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have cabinets refinished.   One heads up-They do everything via email so that was a tad different. I can tell you that Their painting job is not professional. There's multiple areas where they missed painting or didn't paint at all. The drywall work needed additional sanding and refinishing. The tile floor had to be torn out and redone due to tiles popping out. The drop ceiling in the basement needed redone because it wasn't level and had no supports in it. The work was beyond terrible. Now onto the employees. Mike and Laura are the "owners" who I dealt with. Mike and his guys never showed up when they said they would and left whenever they wanted because they said Mike didn't pay them enough. The employees stole my alcohol, all of it. They stole food and last but not least they stole my tools. I would also catch the workers using my tools to do the job and ask why and they would tell me because they didn't have it. I had to help finish jobs for these guys because they couldn't "get it." They agreed to paint my banister and then tried to get another $500 out of me but I refused and they agreed to paint it for the original amount. They continued to try and change prices on scope of work mid job. I finally had the last of it and fired them when I found an employee had been urinating in a one gallon jug in my basement instead of using the restroom that was up the stairs. Mike made excuses that one of his guys had a drinking problem and he did pay me back for the stolen alcohol but not my tools. Some times no one would even show up to work on a certain day and I would call and mike nor Laura would know what's going on. Don't make the same mistake I did.
