Fair price for fair work. We had our red oak floors refinished due to water damage. Adrian from Rovin's flooring came out right away to inspect the damage and provide a quote. We had received multiple quotes from other companies but we liked Adrian's professionalism the best. Rovin's workers showed up on time the day work was to begin; however, a job that was supposed to take 1.5 days to finish took 5 days due to human error, and trying to resolve the problem (drip from final application on floor where the worker set his roller to leave for the day and forgot to smooth it out on his way out the door). Total accident. It was one minor problem that turned into several after trying to rebuff and reapply the finish. I contacted Adrian when I noticed the drip and he sent his guy back that same day and the entire first floor hand to be rebuffed and another finish applied. With that said, this is a Swedish finish with horrible fumes so I'm sure it took it's toll on the worker. Unfortunately, the next day I noticed a very uneven application in several areas. I called Andrian again and he came to inspect the job the next day and said he's very busy but he would be back tomorrow to redo them himself. Anyway, Adrian came out to correct the problem which I appreciate but there are still some spots that I'm not completely satisfied with but I did not want him to do it again. I can hide those spots with rugs or furniture, and I want to get my house back in order. Overall, Adrian is professional and the floor looks way better than it did when they started. There was a language barrier with the workers so be mindful of this but Andrian is easy to reach if you have questions or need clarification. I wanted to give them 4+ stars so bad but couldn't justify it given the delays, uneven application in certain areas and no discount offered for the inconvenience. Would I hire Rovens again? Yes, probably, because he's professional and he tried to turn around the situation. Good customer service means a lot to us and I can tell Andrian wants to ensure his customers are satisfied. I added a photo of the drip that caused the rework if that hadn't happened I would have given them 5 stars because everywhere else was perfect. This is unfortunately one of those experiences where I had a much different experience than most of these reviewers. Overall, my main frustrations center around poor communication, and, no attention to detail on the final product. The initial quote was easy to schedule and I got a quick price quote via email. The person who came to do the quote told us we'd only need to be off the floors after they finished for an hour, which is great since we live in the space we wanted redone, and that we couldn't/shouldn't be out of town during it, as they needed us there to approve the color. In the lead up to service: We never received a confirmation call or any info on what time they would show up. I tried to call the morning of just to get their ETA, and left my name/number. Never got a call back, and then they workers showed up. Better to have them show up than not, of course, but then we had to scramble to get our couch out. Day of service: Fine enough. The two-person team got set up and quickly had us approve the color. I wish I had known that approving the color would happen that quickly, as we would have gone somewhere else after that. After a long day for them, they let us know they were done and told us we couldn't walk on the floors until the next day, which was quite different time than the hour timeframe we heard originally. We received no information on what to do after the service- can my dog walk on them? When can furniture go back on? I tried to follow up with the company via email and phone, and it took multiple phone calls before I eventually heard back. Then, I was told we could put everything back on and there was no need to wait a day. Great, but it would have been nice to understand clearly from the start with all parties giving me the same info. The next day, we found several missed spots, and that they only did one of two bottom door jams. They scratched up several walls in one hallway. I also found several pieces of hair (both my own and my dog's hair) that were underneath the new protective coating. None of this is a huge deal in its own right, but overall, frustrating. They did come back and do some touchups which we appreciated- we had the choice to fix a few spots, or, for them to rebuff/recoat the entire floor. Ultimately, we just did a few spots because we did not want to move all of our furniture again. So we are unfortunately left with some hairs under the top coat and some missed spots. I was told the hair issue is what it is given it might blow up from a heat vent or be elsewhere, so just a heads up for anyone with long hair that sheds or a dog in their house. So overall, we enjoy the new floor color, but wish there had been better communication about the project and better attention to detail on the final result. Hopefully the durability is sufficient. We are only a few weeks past the original service, and there are already several visible marks from our dog's nails (and she's only 20 pounds and isn't very active). So, we will see how durable the floors are long term. read more

We had Rovin's out to put hardwood in our new condo back in January. They were professionals from start to finish. We got several estimates- Rovin's was the cheapest. We initially planned to do new floors in only one portion of the house, but we changed our minds and decided to do the whole floor at the last minute. Best decision ever- the floors are unbelievably beautiful and Rovin's did a great job. They were here when they said they'd be here, and even finished a day early, despite the fact that we increased the scope of the project after they'd already set their schedule. We had other work done in the condo after Rovin's installed the floors, and unfortunately one of the floorboards got damaged. I called Rovin's and, despite the fact that they had literally nothing to do with the damage, they came out and replaced the damaged board for free. Update: As Rovin mentioned, our relationship was good UNTIL we received an invoice that did not reflect what was agreed upon. When we received the invoice, we inquired about the additional water based coat that was added to the project because we were not expecting this to be on the bill as it was confirmed by Rovin, that we will be going ahead with just using oil based coat. For additional context, Rovin did let us know that we would need approval to use an oil based coat due to the rules and regulations that they have to follow. As mentioned above in the review/comments, because we did not have the approval until late evening of March 15th, we made an attempt to reschedule our appointment. Rovin then informed us that they will be going ahead with the project without an approval due to them being booked for rest of the month and also later confirmed with us that the scope of the project will only consist of the oil based paint (shown below in pictures). When we reached out post getting the invoice, instead of apologizing about making a communication error to us, Rovin just kept repeating that they absolutely had to use water based paint due to the regulations and implied that we did not care or wasn't informed of the risks. As shown, we also were trying everything we could do to conform to all rules and regulations that Rovin informed us of. Never once did he apologize for miscommunicating the project scope to us and instead kept on lecturing about city regulations, rules, etc. As shown in the email that was mentioned above, we do regret using profanity in the email, but we were triggered by his extremely rude response after our attempts to resolve the issue. Again, instead of apologizing and owning up to his mistake, he consistently offered us discounts (which was mentioned above) in attempt for us to settle this issue before going public. I am taking the time to write this review so everyone can have a full picture of the matter and to demonstrate to business like Rovin, that money can not settle everything. Rovin's, the hardwood floor wizards! Recently purchased a condo, going into the deal I knew the floors needed work, but didn't anticipate having to completely replace the floors. Three weeks prior to closing the seller's attorney advised my attorney that was significant pet damage under the rugs that wasn't disclosed. We requested pictures but didnt receive them until a couple days prior to closing. Rovin's was the first of about a dozen companies (Luna, Empire, and a bunch of smaller ones) I reached out to. Rovin's was kind enough to quickly provide a rough quote prior to seeing the place, which helped in negotiations. Adrian came out to measure the place which only took a few minutes. He made it clear they would not be able to level the floors and that I would need a contractor to raise the foundation along with a city permit. This kind of threw me off! I didn't expect the floors to be completely level (old building), but there were a couple areas which NEEDED to be leveled. In hopes of getting a better deal, I spent the next 2.5 weeks getting estimates from other companies. Rovin's had the best pricing and stellar reviews, so I decided to reach back out to them (wish I had hired them sooner). Rovin's was prompt in answering all my questions and following-up with me. Never once did they try to "sell me." Adrian advised me that they could use shims to level a couple of the areas, but there would be an additional cost which would be assessed by the installation team. They we're very accommodating to my timeline. The head of my installation team was Greg (the flooring wizard). Greg was great, nice guy, who went out of his way to explain things to me, and provided updates. It was obvious that Greg took great pride in his work! Execution was great, turn key, they took care of everything and finished a day ahead of schedule! There were a few areas that needed to be touched-up days later. Greg came out immediately to touch up the areas. My only regret is not hiring Rovin's sooner. These guys are pros! Advice to potential customers: In order to repair squeaky floors, you need to replace the plywood below the floors.Stay out of your home and off the floors for atleast four days. Leave the windows open for a few hours, replace your filter, and buy an air purifier. GO WITH ROVIN'S!!! read more

Loved them! Rovin's came as a recommendation from my old boss and I am very pleased. Initially we were just planning on replacing the carpet in 2 bedrooms with hardwood and matching it to the existing hardwood in the rest of the house, however when Adrian came out for the estimate he let us know that matching the existing floors would be very hard to do as they were so old. He provided us 2 quotes, one for the original job and one to sand down all of the existing wood and restain to match the new wood exactly. Although this was definitely a bigger project/more than the original job, I never felt he was pushy about it and was willing to do either job. We ended up doing the whole place and am so happy with the results. Adrian recommended we use Special Walnut (photos attached) and the floors look great! We checked with our neighbors after as we were out of town when the work was done and they said there was no issues with noise, smell, etc (we did a water-based finish). We had heard horror stories from our friend who went with a different company and so this was a huge relief. They were able to get the job done in the allotted amount of time (and last minute were even able to start a day earlier which gave an extra day of curing prior to my move), and even came in $500 under budget as they had to do less demo than initially anticipated. They had initially not done one of the thresholds to our bathroom as they apparently missed our text messages that we wanted that, however they came out the week after and added it back in at no extra charge, and that was very easy to coordinate. There isn't much I can say, here, that hasn't already been said. Rovin's was consistently my lowest bid for flooring, and yet still did a fantastic job on the flooring. This was especially impressive given that: 1) I was away for almost the entire installation process. Most subs would treat this as a vacation (and license to do a poor job), but Rovin's stayed in contact the entire time, and still clearly maintained the level of quality that I would expect from all of these reviews. 2) My subfloors were uneven concrete poured a century ago. I'm not sure how they did it, but Rovin's managed to give me near-level floors with no need to level the concrete. I don't even want to think about how much this would have cost, otherwise. Having no prior experience with this type of work and no personal references, I found this place on yelp and got an appointment for an on-site estimate right away. I thought the quote given was very reasonable. I didn't go through with the project until several months after my initial quote, but the months leading up I had several questions for Adrian. He was extremely accessible via email (huge plus for me since I can't easily make personal calls during the work day). Fan-Freaking-Tastic adrian and his guys did an amazing job. we closed on a condo mid-feb and the closing date got pushed back on us and adrian fit us into the schedule pretty last minute after our original contractor stood us up. we had some water stains that he addressed and gave us great advice on ways we could improve the look and life of the floors. the floors were in bad enough shape we couldn't move in until they were repaired and the original contractor was just going to sand and reseal them. adrian looked at them and suggested we do a little bit darker than natural shade for the stain. we were experiencing a little gapping and then had those few stains to deal with, and the stain addressed both issues. they sanded an area of floor, put a few samples down and had us choose after explaining how to look at the colors from different angles and how they would look in the room finished. they finished the floors in one day, the stain color is perfect, the floors look amazing, and their pricing was on the low side of what we'd seen in our floor refinishing research. we will gladly recommend rovin's to anyone that needs floors redone and will use them in the future. great job, we couldn't be happier and we've gotten SO MANY compliments on how great the floors look! read more

We rehabbed a vacant townhome during the pandemic, no easy feat. We started with very damaged golden oak floors. Exceptional! They were referred to me for some floors that really needed work- we were concerned about whether we should replace or try to refinish Kroger they came out for the initial meeting. Pricing was excellent and he was very knowledgeable. They have a very easy process to quote and sign their contract to schedule online - which was great. It was all via email and they include some info on how to clean the floors correctly, what to do and what not to do all in their scope of work contract. The guys came on time and sanded part of the floor first, then put a couple stain samples on to show how it would look and let us choose. They were there almost all day and did an incredible job. Their receptionist was friendly & knowledgeable when I called and they were able to start the job within a week. Pricing was very fair (around $2.5/ sqft plus .50/sqft for the water base finish) and well below others I consulted ($3.50-$4/sqft). Their techs showed up on time and the job was complete in 2 days. I'm so glad that my husband found Rovin's Hardwood Flooring based on the rave reviews on Yelp. Adrian and Julie are extremely helpful and responsive to accommodate our request with a short notice. The crew did an excellent job and completed the work within the time as promised. We are very happy with how the hardwood floor turned out as well as the repair work they did. The lighter color really brightens up the entire place. Unlike most contractors, this team is super responsive on getting the job done but not too eager to get paid.
