It's too hot for me to want to fire up the grill, but no worries, Double JJ Bbq has things covered. I ordered a family meal and it did not disappoint. It's standard food cart ambiance, parking was a little weird, but not horrible. Right off I-5 at the Jefferson/Millersburg exit (238 I think?). The ribs were tender and delicious without sauce, but when you add a little mango habanero sauce it kicks them up a notch... the brisket was great. The pulled pork was my least favorite of the three meats I got, but even that was tasty and juicy. I got the BBQ beans which were quite good if nothing fancy. The cowboy corn I like but the jury is out for my family... needless to say it will all disappear. The servers were friendly, even in 95 degree heat. As far as value goes, there's enough food here to provide my family of 4 with two decent meals each. For $75 that's not bad especially since everything tastes good. Give'em a try! read more

Mr. Smail deserves an updated review with more detail. I tried the ribs with potato salad and cowboy corn last visit. I had criticized the sides, but found the potato salad the best I have ever had, either from a restaurant or store. The sauce is mustard-based, I believe, and sliced hard-boiled eggs and diced dill pickles are added. For a lark, I bought a tub of Reser's potato salad "with deviled egg flavor"--and there is simply no comparison. Mr. Smail I believe parboils the ribs just enough to make the connective tissue slide off the bone. The meat is left al dente, firmer than the ribs from Oregon BBQ, for example, and served up dry, with some bark and a definite smoke taste (which I almost never find elsewhere). The fact that the Smails do not make their own BBQ sauce and will offer Sweet Baby Ray's only on demand leads me to believe that the pitmaster intends his ribs to be eaten straight up. I am asking around, but I bet money this is authentic Texas style, and it is definitely growing on me. read more

This food cart is located in a small food court near Millersburg just outside of Albany. The lady taking my order was extremely friendly and the food came out quick. I ordered 4 pulled pork sandwiches for my roofing crew and got a brisket sandwich for myself. The Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious and the brisket was tender and juicy. The meat was a little salty for me but that was really my only complaint. The price was very fair for the amount of food you get. They have several options for sides so you could visit this place many times and try new things each time. read more

Double JJ BBQ has the most amazing sandwich. The Big Tex with Brisket and Pulled Pork will feed the hungriest of appetites. More meat than you will find on 2 or three sandwiches at most places. Yes, it's a Food Truck in a Food Court, with only outdoor seating or take it home, which we do. John is such a great guy and my wife and I agree that this is our favorite sandwich shop, and we will drive from Corvallis regularly just to get a meal here. read more

Let me start by saying if you love BBQ this is a great place to stop for it. I have try most items on the menu and they are all very good. The lady that runs the place is super friendly and she always gives me positive vibes. I highly recommend stopping by and ordering some food.The brisket, and pulled pork are flavorful and so tender. The lady was very nice,the beans were good.I did not care for the slaw or barbecue sauce neither me or hubby cared for the pulled pork.It was not like it was bad we are from the south so I have figured out Southern food especially barbecue is very different.Im used to that spice and seasonings in it.Like in Memphis and South Carolina. I waited all night to try the food from Double JJ bbq and they did not disappoint me at all. I ordered three meat platter with 3 sides. Which consisted of brisket,pulled pork,and baby back ribs, baked beans, potato salad, and the must try crack Mac. Everything is fresh and hot. Talking to Double J and his wife, he was taught by the master pitman Aaron Franklin. So this food is legendary. A must try if ever in Albany Oregon. This is literally the best bbq stand OR restaurant around. No where compares and the lady running it is very nice! 10/10 forsure! It's everything you want in a bbq place. Most places it seems like the brisket is cooked in an oven but here you can tell it's smoked with wood! I will 1000000% be coming back! Absolutely the best BBQ I've had in a while. Wonderful people great selection the cowboy corn is a life changer. The baked beans are great everything on the menu is great but those are my personal favorite sides. If you are a trucker definitely go here. Blows the Arbies in the loves out of the water.
