She's terrified of people and she's a Lhasa poo, absolutely not normal. Why so scared of people? What did you do to her? And now because she is so fearful of people, noises and the outdoors, she jumped out of my van and ran away. And now she is lost, scared and doesn't trust people to let herself be saved. How can you live with yourselves?!

We wanted to focus on off-leash recall and build in other great pup practices more consistently (sit, stay, and place). I cannot speak highly enough about both Joshua and our pups' experience! We have a stubborn 8 year old who will not listen to anyone but me. Through trust-building and consistency, Oliver now knows that sit means sit / place means place no matter who is asking him. And we are able to take him for off-leash adventures with the comfort of knowing that he will reliably come when asked. It's the best feeling and he's so happy with this newfound autonomy! Then there's our wild child Willow. She's 3 years old and too smart and curious for her own good. Before, if she noticed that she was off-leash or made an escape from a fence, she would bolt - it was a game for her and she loves being chased. She needed the most support in not pulling when walking, impulse control (pesky squirrels), jumping on strangers, and recall. A lot to tackle but Joshua did this beautifully! We still have our sweet girl, but now she understands what's expected of her when meeting strangers (we sit and stay seated until released) and walks (heel, please). Since training, she's finally had the opportunity to swim (her favorite thing!) entirely off-leash and will reliably come when we ask. It makes us so happy to see her enjoy this freedom with us being able to ensure her safety. King K9 was hands down one of the best investments that we've made for our pups. Josh is very responsive - I need some advise in an urgent situation and he answered my inquiry very quickly and within in a week came to my home to evaluate the situation. He provided solutions and follow up coaching with phone calls which to care of the short term emergency. Then we set up a plan to have Parker visit for a 6 week rehab. Josh spent time understanding my situation, what I needed for Parker, and came up with a plan. Now, I have a dog that doesnt bark or disturb the neighbors, I can walk in public, and I know how to help Parker make better decisions and be less reactive. We brought our seventeen year old papillon for two days last weekend to Karla's Pet Rendezvous. Our first impression was great. They were very friendly and they said they were waiting for us. Someone took our dog right away and said she would be with her. The woman at the desk received our dog's bag and started taking notes of everything we needed with respect to feeding our dog. We gave her a new bag of very special food and explained how to serve it. We told her also that we left a can of food, only in case of need. She was saying yes to everything. I wonder if she actually wrote it down. Two days later we returned for our dog. We were very concerned to find out if she ate well. She usually doesn't eat well when we are not around and that's why we brought in the special food. To our surprise, they said she ate well. We also asked if she was taken out to the bathroom recently. She said about an hour ago. Our dog was crying from the moment she saw us, which was also unusual but we thought she really missed us. We left, thinking everything was fine. We took her outside and she peed immediately for a long time. She doesn't do this unless she hasn't been out for hours. I was already disappointed but I didn't say anything and left. Our dog kept crying in the car, which it's also strange. I gave her a treat and she devoured it. And wanted more. I told my husband, our dog seems very hungry which it's very unusual since it was about 3 in the afternoon and she doesn't eat dinner until after 6. We stopped to feed her. The first thing we found was the bag of the special foods that was not even open. We served it immediately and our dog was really starving. They didn't even opened it! We found the can food that was open and they used only a little bit. We were so upset. Our dog ate and stopped crying. The next day I called the pet boarding place and they dismissed me. They said it was an accident. I felt really bad to have left my dog in such bad care. I do not recommend this place at all.

A month passed and I wrote a bad review and she erased it! That tells me a lot about her work ethic...there is none! Find someone else, it's sure not worth $75/hour!

I resorted to engaging the Better Business Bureau in an attempt to get some answers. At this point, I felt their disabling of my online access and banning my dog from their grooming services was a retaliatory effort due to the complaints the store has received from me. Keep in mind those complaints sought to address serious fire safety violations, OSHA concerns and poor customer service from Management. I finally got a response in late April from the Corporate head quarters and this is what they said (I won't hide one word from their response). "After reviewing the feedback from our groomers/store partners, it has come to our attention that there have been multiple instances where they have felt disrespected and treated unprofessionally by you during the grooming sessions for your dog. This has created an uncomfortable working environment for our employees, which is something we take very seriously. As a result, you will not be groomed at this location in the future. And while we wish that we could further assist you, we have policies that we need to enforce, and we reserve the right to refuse service to guests as we see fit." First off, this is news to me because I have had great interactions with the 2 groomers I have ever worked with. When I asked for the dates of these occurrences so I can cross reference them with actual grooming appointments, they failed to respond. Unfortunately the consumer is to be blamed in this instance even though none of what they stated was true. I have my suspicions as to why the store would make up something like this, as I know a couple of the workers there and they would make up stuff just to ban a customer out of spite. I would use this store with caution, given if someone like myself who puts thousands of dollars a year into the store gets banned for "NO" reason, but a made up story so the workers are not disciplined for their actions then it tells me everything I need to know about their brand, mission and how they treat loyal customers. There are dogs who I have seen bite their groomers who are still being groomed today, yet my dog has done nothing and gets banned. Hmmm double standard here or just personal preference on the part of the groomers to choose who they feel should get their services rather than the consumer decide who gets paid for their services.

I discovered Timber Ridge Farm in Saco, Maine about a month after I moved to Massachusetts from…read moreCalifornia (military orders). I was in search of a German Shepherd Dog breed specific breeder on the East Coast to add to my family in addition to my German Shepherd Dog I had from the West Coast. I must've looked at 20+ websites for various GSD breeders, until I stumbled on Timber Ridge Farm's website. I contacted Doreen about a litter of pups she had and made a deposit on the last available male from the Tux Z Arnultovic IPO3 and Piper Z Timberridge IPO3 FH1 litter (May 30, 2014) and arrived on July 25, 2014 to pick up my new puppy, Jax. Doreen even gave me a military discount on the final balance of Jax, which was very generous of her. Subsequently, I brought Jax back for further obedience training with Doreen. I underestimated the "working dog" in Jax, and blame myself for not meeting the level of need/demand he required as a working dog. We lived in a townhouse with no fenced yard, and my husband and I figured that walking Jax and dog park visits would be adequate for Jax as it had been for our other GSD who is 2 years old than Jax (she is now 4 and he is 2). Jax had basic obedience training that I taught him (potty trained, sit, stay, down, speak, etc.), but he was also very smart and knew that he only had to behave when I was watching him. He tore up every single bed we bought him throughout his life, destroyed two crates (eventually we had to invest in a $600 military working dog aluminum crate for him), ate cardboard boxes if we left them on the floor, yelped and screamed (temper tantrum) during the entire duration of a walk outside (so much that people would stop and stare as if we were beating him), walked around the house and high pitched whined non stop until my husband and I would give him some attention, he was just an all around monster dog (like the animal planet TV shows) that demanded our attention otherwise he would throw a tantrum. We love Jax and even at times we thought it was "the last straw," we just knew that he was a member of our family and we needed to make it work. We tried a dog trainer in Massachusetts for a few weeks, but they were unsuccessful in training Jax nor did they even reply to my last email regarding my concerns with Jax at their facility. We even signed a new lease at a higher rent home just to be able to give Jax a 1/2 acre fenced backyard to play in. We were doing all that we could to give Jax the best life and environment to thrive. So I got back in touch with Doreen and drove the 2 hours back to her facility with Jax in tow. I dropped Jax off on April 2, 2016 and picked him up on May 2, 2016. On Jax's first day back home, he was a brand new dog. I recognized him, but then I didn't. No more whining, no more leash pulling, no more attacking our other GSD, I fell in love with Jax all over again. I was nervous taking him out on a walk (despite the other nightmare walks), but he walked out the door with such grace and plopped his butt down on the porch and waited for me to lock the door. He had his full attention on me during the walk and every time I abruptly stopped, he simultaneously looked up at me and sit his butt down by my side. When I had him "sit," he would stay put (despite me walking around the house), until I gave him the command that it was OK for him to move. He was still the same dog (inside). He still loved to cuddle with me on the couch (when I let him up), and he still followed me around yearning for affection and to be petted. Doreen thoroughly briefed me on what I was doing wrong (I was boring to him) and gave me some direction on how to improve and what to continue to do further. She consistently provided me updates on Jax throughout his 30 day stay with her, sent pictures, and videos. At my request, she also started protection dog training with Jax, and it was amazing to see my friendly dog, who can run up to the UPS guy wagging his tail, bite a trainer's arm on command. At no point during his long boarding at her facility was I ever worried about his well being, like I normally am when boarding him at another boarding facility. From the beginning, Doreen has always been responsive to my e-mails, questions, and inquiries. Her business offers a variety of services that is not only limited to GSD breeding, but also includes obedience/tracking/protection dog training, dog boarding, and equestrian boarding. All at amazing prices, considering the level of service you receive from her. Her facility (that I have been to a few times so far) shows her dedication to these dogs with many spacious kennels, a separate building for indoor dog training, and large fields for outdoor dog training as well. I've taken my dogs to various boarders and trainers where walking inside makes me feel bad for dropping off my dogs, but here, I feel as if I'm dropping my dog off to doggie vacation. It's a two hour drive for me to this place, but it's well worth it!
