In line in the rain. Got here at 4:30.

Great service and ambiance but our food was okay. Stood out in the rain until 5pm when they officially open. Loved everything but our entrees! Garlic seafood pasta was quite over cooked and seasoning was not that tasty. My wifes salmon was way undercooked. My friends steak was good but bloody. The desserts were excellent. Double Muskey pie and blueberry pie and cream brulee were way better than entrees. Probably should give more attention to the entrees and as a courtesy let people in 5-10 min early when it is raining outside.

Who knew that world class cuisine existed in Girdwood, AK. Highly recommend. I dined there with a party of 22 and we sampled almost the entire menu. EVERYTHING was fantastic. The pepper steak definitely being my favorite, but the fresh catch was also off the chart delicious.

f you're anywhere near Double Musky Inn, skipping it would be a mistake. This place is legendary for a reason. Tucked away in Alyeska, it feels like a cozy, slightly wild cabin--but the food is next level. The menu leans Cajun, and everything comes out bold, rich, and unapologetically indulgent. The pepper steak is a standout--perfectly cooked, drenched in flavor, and honestly one of the best I've had. The salmon is a must--fresh, perfectly prepared, and easily one of the yummiest dishes on the menu. Portions are generous, so come hungry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is half the experience: eclectic, intimate, a little chaotic in the best way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's not polished or trendy--and that's exactly why it works. It feels authentic, like a place that hasn't tried to change for anyone. They don't take reservations, so expect a wait--but it's absolutely worth it. Grab a drink, settle in, and lean into the experience. Alyeska has its share of great spots, but this is the one you remember.

Excellent service, per usual. The servers and bussers make sure your table is cleared of any excess foods and any drinks are quickly refilled and continually (swiftly) brought new drinks. I had a 50/50 enjoyment with all the food and drinks that we ordered. We got to double musky when they first opened so getting a table was easy. We started off with the jalapeño shrimp appetizer which was hot, spicy, creamy, and delicious! We also tried their gumbo appetizer which 100% tasted burnt and disgusting, I sent it back. My server told me that's how it's supposed to be but I prefer non burnt... anything. For my main course I ordered the crab stuffed halibut. I was not impressed with the sauce or the textures blended together in the halibut. The veggies were crunchy and good, I added a side of mashed potato's which was the best part of my dinner. The bread they give comes out hot and fresh. And you get a free salad with your meal. My best friend ordered a steak which was so f'n good. Amazing flavor. The key lime pie blew my mind, absolutely my favorite I've ever tried. The coconut/pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting and walnuts was really good too. The first of 4 drinks was my favorite. They have amazing names for all their adult drinks. It was fun reading that menu. Next time, I will be getting the fried chicken which is really flavorful, jusicy, spicy, and crunchy.

LOVE THIS PLACE. A bit inconvenient. Does not open until 5pm and does not take reservations. We had drinks and waited an hour to be seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Part of our table received folding chairs to sit on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was outstanding. As couples we could have split dinners. Will absolutely be back.

This place is very popular and can get really crowded. We went on a Thursday because all the other spots we really wanted to try were closed, so we gave Double Musky Inn a shot. For appetizers, we had the hot crawfish cheese dip and shrimp and sausage gumbo. The hot crawfish cheese dip was just okay, nothing really special, but the bread was good. Unfortunately, the gumbo was a miss for me, the cornbread on the side was okay. I ordered the crab-stuffed halibut for my entrée, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. It looked great on the menu, but when I tasted it, it lacked flavor. The crab was barely noticeable and I could not taste it, then, both the halibut and sauce were bland. The staff here were attentive and friendly, but overall, I don't think I'll be back. The food was overpriced for the quality we received.

Absolute hoot! If in Anchorage this is a must stop. Awesome Cajun cooking in AK. This place is eclectic and fun. Best of all food is out of this world. New Orleans in Anchorage's backyard. They offer dinner specials, local breweries on tap, and great service. Oh, and the drive to is beautiful. This is a must stop for me now each time I come to the area. I have enjoyed the shrimp on grits and now the Cajun deep fried chicken. Both were worth it.

My husband and I went to the Double Musky Inn for the first time last night. Overall we had a wonderful experience - food was delicious, service was very very attentive, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is so lovely and cozy!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just a small critique - our server did not inform us that salad is included with every entree so when she offered it to us, we declined. We also did not see salad mentioned anywhere on the menu but did see several plates of it coming out of the kitchen. We had to go home and read Yelp reviews to figure out that it was included with our meal!

This place reminded me of a place in Fairbanks and had Cajun and creole food that sounded just right to us. It's a wooden lodge looking building with a bunch of decorations all over the walls and ceilings. We got seated during the dinner rush. They seated us first in this bar area to order drinks which we had hot apple ciders with a head of cream. This was probably the best thing we ordered here. We then had to pay our drinks before moving to our real table where we order food. The menu looks great on paper only. We ordered the crayfish dip and gumbo for apps followed by a shrimp and scallop cardinal and crab stuffed halibut. Bread was served with our entrees. Portion sizes were big. That's really all to it. The bread served with the dip and the entrees were probably the best things we ate. The servers and everyone else not working in the kitchen were great. My cup of water was never empty and I had at least 6 cups. All the good restaurants are closed on Thursday leaving this to be the best and only choice. I don't understand that mid week closure but I'm only a visitor, one of many visitors out in the area who are hungry on a weekday. The price was not worth it. It was hard for me to believe the seafood was fresh. I recommend this place if you're unfortunately here on a Thursday and nothing is open. Subway or an allegedly bad pizza in the area might be better options.

When a restaurant doesn't take reservations and there is always a line at the door, you know there's magic happening on the other side of that door. The food was on point across the board. I warn you not to overindulge in the delicious appetizers as you will regret not having the space when your entree arrives. We got the steak tips and potato skins as appetizers. The reduction the steak tips comes with is an excellent for dipping fresh made rolls into. The potatoes skins are a pretty hearty and savory mix with sour cream topping them. We were brought salads as part of our service before the entrees. I would have liked to seen more out of the salad as far as a lettuce mix and more color, but it was fresh and crispy. My entree was a New York pepper-steak. The steak showed up with fresh veggies and I knew part of it was coming home with me. The steak had to be 2 inches thick and 8+ inches long. Straight delicious! As if cherubs had encrusted this slab of meat with a pepper-flour mixture and seared it to perfection. I don't think I got a picture of the blueberry cheesecake pie, but it is as it sounds, amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Portions were great, environment was great, service was struggling a little with the flood of people that had been waiting at the door, but they overcame and folks got their food in a timely manner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

OMG - loved the Double Musky. They could call this place the Double Funky. It had it's own unique vibe. While we slowly made our way further down the interior hallway in the line to be seated, we could hear some funky music being played from vinyl in what appeared to be a wine room. We were greeted by a charming host with a bit of a flair. He seated us and our waiter, Rudy, arrived quickly. Waters were poured, drink order were taken. After our drinks arrived, we ordered dinner. Our friends had been here a number of times before and we had all studied the menu. Each couple split an entree and each person had a small side salad. We ordered the French Pepper Steak with a Baked Potato. Salads came shortly thereafter. The salads were small, as described, were fresh and tasty. All their dressings are house made. After salads, dinner rolls arrived, very quickly followed by our meals. WOW - what an amazing entree. And big too. Unless you have a real hearty appetite, the French Pepper Steak entree can be shared - in my opinion. Rudy brought each couple a share plate. I split the baked potato with her and gave her a 1" slice of the steak. It was plenty for her. I probably ate a 2" slice of the steak and we took have my large dinner roll home, about half the steak and some extra brown gravy for the steak. Rudy brought us 3 slices of Double Musky pie. Oh my word! This pie was so rich and so tasty. Somehow, each couple ended up sharing a slice, leaving us with 1 slice to take home. On the way out, I got a selfie picture with our server Rudy and with the host. Great time - I would definitely recommend the Double Musky to anyone.

Not spicy which I appreciate because you can always add that. Corn and chicken chowder was also to die for, my boyfriend got the Cajun fettuccini, also chefs kiss. The roll that came with the fettuccini special today (10/1/2025) I could eat five of them. Warm, soft, chewy and buttered. Portions are huge. Oh and the cornbread that came with the chili! Five star. I will say they are 5/5 for friendliness…read more But for Cajun food they are lacking. What they did good was their French fries and nuggets which their fries are battered. For a kids meal this is a really big portion. For Cajun food it lacked flavor and was kind of just weird. The red beans were bland, Lacked real seasoning, salt and had chunks of carrots. The gumbo was alright but not good or exceptional by any means. I did like that the okra was fresh enough to not be slimy. But it had no spicy appeal, and lacked the holy trinity. It also wasn't oily which was nice. The jambalaya was outright bad. It tasted sour and just really off. It was also like a soup instead of a rice dish. To top it off there were chunks of shredded cheese in it. Crab cakes were alright but the dressing for it was incredibly mustard seed heavy. My husband was a fan of the sauce, but I really wasn't. The buttered bread was good. I can't foresee myself coming back just because it lacked the bold flavor I expect from Cajun food and tasted pretty weird. If I ever gave it another shot I'd probably try a poboy.

Now anyone who knows about this dish understands it's not the same type of BBQ like we do ribs and chicken. This is a butter sauce that's seasoned to creole standards and served with French bread. Typically it's served in shell however these were peeled and served in the sauce. I'm not mad at this as I didn't have to get messy to peel the shrimp and dip the sauce etc. it was nice to eat it with a fork and already doused in the sauce. The bread was easy to dip and it wasn't salty. I'd love for my New Orleans born friends to make the trip in order to check this place out. I went early in the day shortly after opening so it wasn't salty not crowded at all and the host whisked me to a table with a good view for people watching. They were able to handle greeting, serving, and bartending between the 2 of them and not lose any grace or standards of service. I explained my dietary restrictions and the young lady was happy to navigate me through the menu. They have a full bar that I'm interested in delving into but I had to work later that day so water and soda were sufficient.
