Saint Coyote! I've visited their location 100x, not to enjoy their restaurant, but for many private events held in their party space. Affordable, convenient and on the Southside --it's a hard deal to beat. You can bring your own food, entertainment and alcohol. I recently visited Saint Coyote to finally try out their restaurant atmosphere. The place was bright and bustling. Service was superb. Drinks were strong. We ordered a few apps, and dinner. There was nothing to write home about, but nothing was particularly bad either. It's a solid place that never seems to be too busy for dinning out or a date night. I went in and ate by myself just after they opened. The restaurant was very clean, all my food came out hot, and I had a great server. They even had a busser coming by to refill water before it emptied. I really enjoyed the stuffed bell peppers. read more

We have eaten here multiple times. With that being said drink times are long, food is inconsistent & on occasion service is lacking. However if you're not in a hurry the decor is cute with a pronounced bar with big wood feature & a good amount of booths. The dinning area is not very big & they do get busy later in the evening. I recommend the wings as appetizer. If you're a ranch fan they have good ranch as well for those wings. The desserts are also worth try, highly recommend the cheesecake dip, or the chocolate baileys mousse, both are very good. Some of the servers are slower on checking up on their tables & bartenders are not very quick at getting drinks out. We started with the zucchini mozzarella sticks, they were warm and creamy with marinara dip, AK Amber and a glass of Pino Grigio-both were cold and good. He had the house burger and I had the grilled chicken salad, I especially liked my salad! We ended our meal with the fusion bread pudding apple pie and ice cream which was delicious. The food was pretty good. We had the polenta which was basically like sharing a bowl of porridge and only had one piece of toasted bread. The Alfredo was good and the halibut dish was tasty. Priced accordingly. The only really Latin items were the few on the appetizer list. Don't go here for Mexican food, that's not what this one is. The dining room and bar give the feel of being in a hotel lobby restaurant. Kind of loud, strange use of the high ceilings, and a hodgepodge of art. Probably not going back any time soon. read more

Our drinks came in a timely manner and they were off the chain, best Old Fashion I've had. We had the full rack of ribs, Chicken Parm, lime shrimp, beef scewers, chicharrón with guacamole, it was all delicious. We must try it again soon!!! Service was very good!! read more

I sadly did not get any pictures of the food but for good reason! I was with friends and co-workers and this is the perfect place to have a large party! The appetizer menu is more appetizing than the actual dinner menu haha And it's true, we all share multiple appetizers like the oysters, the drunken cheese, zucchini cheese, sticks and more. I also tried the pork and many of the other entrées as well. Overall, the food was fantastic! Everything was prepared very well and was very good! my personal favorite were the oysters which were the best oysters with a cream sauce that I have ever had! The wine menu was fairly extensive although I did not personally see my absolute favorite Cabernet franc, they did have some other dry wines that were very nice. I was happy with the large selection of scotch and Even, Irish whiskey! The bar tender was very knowledgeable and the bar area had a nice classic look to it which was a very relaxing ambience! Lately, Don't skip out on the desserts! I tried many but hands-down the best was the warm chocolate brownie absolutely 10 out of 10! We planned a holiday dinner with 25 guests. We were beyond pleased with our experience. Hospitality and service was top notch. The food was beyond expectations. Drunken cheese, oysters Rockefeller and zucchini mozzarella sticks were a few of the appetizers we ordered. The filet mignon and shrimp was perfectly cooked from personal experience but other guests ordered halibut, chicken, ribs, and the New York and said it was perfectly cooked. One of my very favorite places in Anchorage. Tasty appetizers- love the mushroom risotto, steak skewers, and zucchini sticks. All great portions and can be enjoyed by the whole table. If I am ever wanting soup, THIS IS THE SPOT! Especially on a cold winter night. It's always a surprise, often sounds not at all like it would be good and then it's amazing!! When in doubt- ORDER THE SOUP! The filet mignon is cooked to perfection at medium. I prefer it prepared the NY style way with the Demi glaze sauce on the side with the blue cheese crumbles. I have been to Saint Cayote about 5times. I continue to return because it's relatively close to my home. I couldn't figure out if I completely loved the food, but I didn't completely hate it either. The atmosphere is decent, and the staff is always friendly enough. The parking situation could be better. My husband and I always get wings, which are typically always good. We visited yesterday. We had the wings as usual; they were decent. What is always up for question are the entrees. I haven't found one yet that is my go-to. Yesterday, my husband had lamb chops that he liked, but hated their spin on mashed potatoes. I had a burger. The waitress mentioned it was very good. It left A LOT to be desired. Should I say, frozen patty that was overcooked with no flavor. It was horrible. I asked for fries, I received potato chunks which lacked flavor. Needless to say. The best thing about my meal was the $3.50 cherry coke. We will not be returning to Saint Cayote. read more

We've been several times now & always order the same thing-zucchini cheese sticks, avocado salad (dressing is AMAZING), wild mushroom risotto & BBQ baby back ribs. Honestly initially I was pretty much in it for the desserts. Im a huge fan of cakes! The food here caught me off gaurd, I wasn't expecting much but the flavors were insane. We started with Appitizers, Drunken Cheese, Chevice, Jalapeño poppers, and we were mistakenly given chicharrones. I was expecting the fried pork skins that we get from gas stations and convenience stores, but this was a fried halibut and octopus on guacamole served with house made corn chips. The flavor was insane. Easily one of the top 3 things ive tasted this year. The other Appitizers were great but the mistake, the thing we didn't actually order, was my favorite! I had the lamb chops. They were delicious and the wine sauce was very good. I ended my meal with a carrot cake and ice cream. It was a very good meal. Theres a very small, super small possibility that my review is swayed by the very handsome staff that were not only helpful and attentive but super easy on the eyes. (Not usual of me to comment on stuff of that nature but I did blush a bit at my school boy behaviors) The dining room is a typical set up with a bar as main focal point. This is a great addition to the area. It's kind of hidden in a strip mall off of diamond. It seems to be a newer strip mall as many of the storefronts are vacant so it has ample parking. This is more upscale dining, but the menu isn't super eclectic so even your steak & burger only eating family will find something to satisfy them. It's a very approachable restaurant. They also have a full bar and a decent sized cocktail list. The interior was clean and had ample seating. The table and booth set up reminded me of Pangea, but there was some very interesting paintings on the walls. Couldn't really place the time frame, but these were pieces depicting a time period long ago. It was decor that really didn't fit what the restaurant was selling. Like it was leftover from a previous tenant and they just decided to roll with it. Service was good. We went on super bowl Sunday because my mom was in town so we had a babysitter. The place was dead at 7pm. We were literally the only 2 people in there, which surprisingly can sometimes be harder to serve than a packed restaurant. The server wasn't on top of us and still timed our courses nicely. We started with halibut & octopus chicharrones, which had good flavor. A few pieces were overly cooked, but overall this dish was unique and tasty. My husband was craving a burger. They do not cook it to your temperature specifications, but he said even though it was medium well it was still juicy and tasty. I ordered the lamb chops. I asked for them to be Med rare. They were a bit overcooked, but still very flavorful. I received a nice portion of veggies and a choice of potato as sides. For dessert we had a bourbon bread pudding and a white chocolate cheesecake. The bread pudding was delicious. The cheesecake was ok; couldn't really taste the white chocolate. Overall we enjoyed our experience here. The food was good and reasonably priced. If you are looking for an upscale restaurant with good sized portions and an approachable menu this is a perfect option! read more

BEWARE: don't be a rube like me and blindly follow the Google Maps directions, they'll take you into a neighborhood, right behind Saint Coyote. NOT where you want to be! I've been trying to get here since...well, since it opened! I sat at the nice bar area. There were a decent number of other local folks hanging out. There were about 8 beers on tap, many of them local or Alaska. I got the lamb chops and the plating, portion, and sides were perfect! Lamb chops at many places in town always leave me wanting more. Not so here! They were pretty reasonably priced as well. I chatted with the bartender (also manager/owner? Kind of seemed like it) after my meal, he really seems to care about the business. I think that I'm being very realistic with my review, but i will stress, there were some excellent dishes, and others that did not quite measure up. We had been here before, a few weeks ago, but nothing really appealed to me on the menu. We went back tonight, as hub had a hankering. I couldn't really see anything that called to me from the entrees, but i do love polenta, and i had seen that people seemed to enjoy the zucchini cheese sticks so i ordered both of those from the appetizer menu, and hub ordered stuffed bell pepper from the entree menu, with a side of garlic Parmesan mashed potato. Thats when hub noticed that the floor had been washed with a dirty mop. It had visible dirty streaks. This seems a small thing, but the floor is new, and pretty, so it's more noticeable. My polenta and cheese sticks arrived first -- very quickly, kudos for speed. And oh my goodness, that is one delicious polenta, AND it is by no means appetizer sized. It's enough for an entree. With a generous topping of Manchego, and sautéed mushrooms, and a big piece of garlic bread, this polenta is very rich, creamy, and you can tell it's got a generous helping of butter. It's beautiful. If you get it as an appetizer, then share it with the rest of your party. The cheese sticks, well to be honest, I'm not as impressed with those, i mean it's cheese sticks - they're popular, common, you can get them anywhere, and if anything, the coating, which was beautifully golden and crunchy, lacked seasoning in my opinion. The zucchini really didn't add anything to the dish flavour wise, though it added a little pop of colour. Now this was not so for the marinara that accompanied it - that is the true star of this dish. It tastes freshly made, not out of a jar. It has the perfect balance of herbs and seasoning, and we both commented on how good it was. I got more of that, because in actual fact, the cheese sticks were merely a vector with which to transport more marinara into my mouth, because it was so good. You got a large serving of these too, and I couldn't eat them all. Hub's stuffed pepper, unfortunately this was our least favourite. It was very cheesy, no doubt about that, but the cheese was one of those strong, very stinky varieties, not that you go round sniffing your dinner, but we were trying to identify what the sharp, tart, flavour was that we could taste in the dish, we came to the conclusion that it was some manner of a washed-rind cheese, maybe Limburger? And the rice inside was not fully cooked - it was crunchy he said. His garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes, which were his choice of side, had a generous topping of Parmesan. That part was good, but the rest lacked seasoning, and we had no salt and pepper on our table and had to ask for it. On the positive side, we were greeted promptly, seated quickly, drinks served fast, and our server was a very nice young lady, so i have absolutely no reservations about the staff. TL;DR Polenta easily serves 2 as an appetizer, 1 as an entree, and is astoundingly good. The marinara tastes as if you were in Italy and your Nona just knocked up a batch of "gravy" and it goes amazingly well on the top of the garlic bread that comes with the polenta. I think I'll come back because this place hasn't been open that long, and i want to give it a fair chance. read more

First time here clean interiors and or waitress was friendly. We had a group of 6 the restaurant wasn't full but a decent amount of tables. The food seemed to take awhile. The chicken Parmesan was good the chicken was crispy and juicy, pasta and sauce was ok nothing to write home about. They did slide the melted cheese on top at the table that was kind of cool. We came here on a whim, I've seen the sign a few times and wanted to try it out. First impression- it was super loud. I don't know if the sound just echoes and carries but it was really loud in the restaurant. Not the kind of place I would go to have a romantic or serious dinner. I ordered the New York which I have to say was super tasty. The rest of my plate, not so much. The entree comes with house vegetables, they were on the plate with my steak but they were not warm. I also ordered the garlic mashed potatoes, but those did not show up with my entree. Our server was not very attentive and by the time he came back to our table and I was able to let him know I was missing my potatoes and that the veggies were not even like warm, I was more than half way done with my steak. He did bring out new veggies which felt microwaves as they were too hot to touch and the mashed potatoes also were too hot to touch and felt like they were quickly nuked in a microwave. The server informed us it was his first day, which I understand. But he never did come around to refill water or ask how anything was. It was our first time here and we had 2 out of state guest in town. I probably should come give this place another try, but it isn't top priority for me. Pretty disappointed, when I told a coworker about my experience she was surprised and said her family comes here a lot. Perhaps we just had bad luck of the draw on our experience. read more

Delicious halibut with vegetables is grain-free. The sauce can be placed on the side as I am uncertain as to whether it is grain-free or not. Add a side of cheesy mashed potato's to it. Their jalapeño margarita is spicy, delicious, and grain-free; no added flavors or special mixes as common in margaritas. read more

The atmosphere is very nice in this restaurant and tasteful. They have a full service bar, plenty of parking in the mall lot. The menu was interesting, to say the least. I don't know why I was expecting a Mexican cuisine, it's not. There is a good variety on their menu but so much had the spicy symbol and I just can't eat that sort of thing so that disappointed me some, the things that sounded so good ended up being a spicy menu item. We have been here twice now. First time I got the lavender lemonade which was good. Their cocktail menu is pretty limited but it looks like they could make you what you want. The menu doesn't tell you anything but the drink name so it's hard for me to pick one I'd like. I like other menus where it lists the ingredients. For dinner I got the Alfredo with cream sauce. It was pretty good but not much flavor. Boyfriend got the burger which was really good. Baby potatoes crisped instead of the normal fries. Juicy meat, soft bun and lots of cheese. Second time I got the honey lime shrimp with rice and veggies. I had asked for half a Caesar salad (which was a side choice) instead of veggies but that never happened. The veggies were carrots and zucchini which turned out to go really well with the dish. The rice which they call coyote rice was super good. A good dish overall. The service was pretty good the first time. We sat at the tables across from the bar and I think the manager was the one who served us. He was making the drinks too but when we asked what his favorite was on the menu he said he didn't drink. The second time we got a young guy who English wasn't his first language I'm guessing and he wasn't a very experienced server. He'd rather stand at our table awkwardly instead of saying I'll give you another minute to decide. Their menu is pretty scattered with a burger, steak, lamb chop, shrimp, some spicy items, pasta, as well as quite a few appetizers. The fried zucchini and cheese were really good, I'd get those again. Overall they are pretty good. My nephews, sister, and I had a great time here. We were promptly greeted and sat and watered. The ambiance was quiet and comfortable. We ordered the zucchini cheese sticks and the steak skewers to start. Of the two the cheese sticks won, and were the tastiest I've ever had. The skewers were tasty as well. They came with a chimichurri sauce that was perfect and the steak succulent. For entrees, it was chicken parmesan, coyote burger, pork chop, and copper river salmon. All the food was delicious and well prepared. If there was a criticism on my dish, it would be that it had a bit too much sauce, though it was very tasty. The sauce could have been a dip and would be perfect with toast points. The staff were wonderful and attentive. I think each of the staff assisted us that night. My wife and I went to Saint Coyote for appetizers and desserts. The restaurant is in the Gallo Center, a mall on Dimond across from Costco. The oysters Rockefeller was the best I've ever had! My wife really liked the creamy polenta with monsago cheese. For dessert I had "cheesecake dip" - fluffy cheesecake on top of mini cinnamon-sugar covered tortilla, and they were amazing! My wife loved the Bailey's chocolate mousse. Another day we went there for dinner. The honey dijon crusted pork chop are amazing - fork tender and the best pork chops I have ever had! The service was pretty good. My rating is mostly for the food. I ordered the halibut which came with veggies and a sauce. The sauce was so heavy and separated on the plate. The veggies were mushy and some weren't cooked enough. The halibut itself was decently cooked and had good seasoning. My daughter had the Mac n Cheese which came out with fettuccine noodles. We had to add salt to it for flavor and the dish ended up being too heavy so I ordered a side salad for her. Idk.. I know it sounds like we're being picky.. maybe we are. So be it.
