My husband and I came here for a food and beer pairing with Cynosure. Overall, the experience was pretty good but it didn't knock my socks off. It's a beer and food pairing right? When we got there we were brought to our seats. It was a long shared table for everyone. It seems as they were lacking some preparation, there wasn't a course menu on the table so you had zero idea of what you were about to be served. The first course came out, a carrot soup with an IPA. The IPA didn't come out for at least 5 minutes after the soup was out. Definitely some lag time there. Carrot soup 3/5 The short rib with golden yukon mashed potatoes was next with the caison which was amazing both the beer and the food. Short rib 5/5 The dessert was an interesting dark chocolate cake with burnt marsh mellow frosting situation. It was very dense and a large portion. I would have enjoyed the cake if it was fluffy and light after the big short rib entree. Dessert 3/5 The service was good overall, it was cool to have the brewers sit next to us and chat with them about beer. Attended a wine dinner on 26 March 2025 that was extremely disappointing. We were served a somewhat room temperature corn dog which was shockingly the best item on the menu, a bland chicken dish, and a yellow butter cake so dense and dry it was almost uncomfortable to chew. The wines were very good, but I wouldn't say they alone made up for the $95/person price point. Most unsettling was the woman hosting the event. She was extremely rude, to the point we wished we had simply left rather than stick it out for the mediocre food. We stepped away from our seats to a completely empty table to have a private conversation about a serious family matter and she approached and shouted at my husband about how he should know the table wasn't available and she wanted everyone to sit together - emphasizing that she "sent an email he should have bothered to read". Altogether a very unsettling experience, but I'm very glad we decided on a whim to do it before booking a large catering event on our calendar with them. After always seeing Bridge when fishing Ship Creek, and loving the concept we finally dined here this past weekend while my mom was visiting. We were sadly disappointed. The food here is the epitome of meh. What you got for the price was disappointing, and we left feeling cheated. This is certainly what I would consider a tourist trap. The infamous starter bar that comes with your entree was nothing special. It was clean, and replenished often. The best dish at the bar was a smoked salmon pasta salad. But, everything else was just ok. It's nice that it's "all you can eat", but I'd rather just order appetizers then eat from a AYCE starter bar. The smoked salmon spread that they serve with rolls is very good, and something that is not typically served. Those two things were the most creative items on the menu. Everything on the menu is very plainly prepared, and that's ok. Sometimes you need to go back to the basics. The fish is all sourced from Alaska, and fresh. But the prices are steep for something I could literally purchase from Fred Meyer, and make myself. I was shocked that the prices rival those of some of the upper scale restaurants in town like the Crow's Nest. The starter bar is certainly included in the entree price. I'm not above paying a hefty price tag to eat something exceptional, but there was nothing exceptional about the meal I was served. They do serve a nice portion of colorful veggies and potatoes with your meat choice. Service was good, atmosphere inside was decent. The location is obviously unique, and I do love watching combat fishing. But, you can just go to Ship Creek to participate in fishing without paying the high price tag of Bridge. The best things about the restaurant were the smoked salmon pasta salad, and the smoked salmon spread. Not worth the $40 entree cost. You definitely dine here for the novelty of it all. If I dined here as a tourist I probably would have views this restaurant in a slightly different light. I'm glad I tried it, but this is the first restaurant in Anchorage that I can honestly say I will not be dining at again. read more

Came here for a work trip I traveled from NY for and was appalled by the disrespect and service from this place. Maybe they need some lessons around hospitality but good lord they talked down to us, cut us off from drinking alcohol as if we are a bunch of children and constantly had an issue with every request we had. Not only would I not recommend this place to any tourist but I wouldn't recommend this place to someone that hasn't eaten for six days because their better off eating their own foot then this low quality frozen food. Horrible experience. They had rules in place like not sharing desserts? No wifi for customers or the place would basically implode? This piece of fresh caught king salmon from Copper River is no doubt the best salmon I ever had. It doesn't even taste like fish The seafood chowder is sooo good, full of king crab leg meat. I didn't expect much from this restaurant, because I though it bring on the bridge was a gimmick and food would be meh. I was wrong! All the seafood is locally sourced, fresh, and delicious! I ordered the Alaskan king crab (half lb), and the meat on the crab legs were so sweet. The serving was ample. We requested view of the river, and we were seated at a great spot overlooking the water. None of the fishermen and women caught anything while we were there, but it was fun to watch them trying to catch king or coho salmon. We shared a rhubarb crisp with ice cream for dessert. That I was so good! The crisp is served piping hot. Service was pretty awesome! Our server was really attentive and friendly. I recommend here for date nights! This was the highlight of my stop in Anchorage, Alaska! When we arrived in Anchorage and checked into the hotel, this was the restaurant that was recommended. I was thrilled that this recommendation was made, as I had done my research before arriving and thought the same thing! Not only do they have great food and dessert, the environment surrounding the restaurant was what made this place to eat even more special. Depending on the time that you are there, you can see several salmon Fisherman fishing in the river that runs underneath the restaurant. I stayed outside for a long time before we ate, as they were so entertaining to watch! Sidenote, if you are looking to see even more salmon, walk down to the right of the restaurant, and at the far end of the river, there is a gathering space of all the salmon who actually made it upstream! It is incredible to see. We were able to walk right in on a Saturday night, but we did have to wait a few minutes for our seat. It was not packed but definitely enough people that I would recommend calling ahead for a table. We asked to sit near the window, as we wanted to continue to watch the fisherman. That was easy for them to do! It will be expensive, so just know going into this restaurant, you will spend a lot of money-- so just enjoy it! The fish is fresh! Just remember, you were in Alaska where most find dining fish restaurants are more expensive than what you may see in the inland US. However, we found that most fish places range from $35-$50-they were all about the same regardless of where you were. Great experience, and I would highly recommend! read more

The seafood chowder was really good, the bottom of the soup was delicious as it seemed like the spices settled. The sourdough rolls and Salmon spread were great. Pains me to say this but, this place has really gone downhill. First of all: there are no more crab legs at the salad bar. This is the main reason I came back here. You can find better main dishes at many places in Anchorage, for less money, than here. The great salad bar used to make up for this. The salad bar is just kind of sad now. Our server was very friendly, but very clumsy and awkward. I had an almost identical experience to Erica C on 8/21/2017. While we were at the salad bar, the server spilled a glass of wine on the table. (we had ordered a bottle, something I never do, but I was here for my brother's birthday) That's fine, mistakes happen. But the way it was handled was very awkward for everyone involved. My camera (which costs about 15X as much as our bill here) was on the table, and the waitress assured me it didn't get any wine on it. By how wet the table-paper was...I found that...unlikely. The strap on the camera was wet and smelled like wine. Wine did get on it. There was a mile apology and the only consolation was that someone would come and replace our table paper. We had to awkwardly ask if we could have another glass of one to replace the one she spilled, twice. She eventually brought it out and tried to pass it off as the same wine, but it was a different white wine. The whole thing just left us feeling awkward and unsatisfied. So much casual deception. Also, don't make your customers ASK for a correction to an obvious mistake, but make them ask TWICE? Ugh. The veggies I got with my steak were pretty good though. Felt foolish having to beg for a replacement glass of wine after a nearly $200 bill. I can't recommend Bridge anymore. If you want a nice meal in Anchorage I suggest: Spenard Roadhouse (get whatever the fresh fish special is, you'll enjoy it better than the fish here), Haute Quarter Grill, Sacks, Kincaid, Marx Brothers, or many others. read more

We asked the hotel desk at the Hilton for the best fresh fish in Downtown Anchorage, they sent us on a short walk to The Bridge. What a great recommendation! Their salad bar is not a typical salad bar, it was fresh and delicious with tabouli, a salmon pasta salad, pineapple coleslaw, etc... My 1/2 lb king crab legs were wonderful and the side of assorted potatoes and grilled veggies along with the salad bar made for a perfect meal. My husband loved his Halibut as well. They serve bread with a salmon spread that was unusual and tasty. This may seem odd but the tap water was the best water I have ever tasted! We are at the small but friendly bar, our bartender Kristen was on the ball and took great care of us. Overall an underwhelming experience. I asked and waited for a table by the window. The service was prompt and friendly. The salad bar had a good assortment. The potato salad, beet salad and smoked salmon bow tie salad were very good. The green salad was nothing special, just your garden variery spring mix. The minted watermelon wasn't fresh, and old enough that I couldn't eat it. The sourdough roll was fine, and the smoked salmon spread was very tasty. I ordered the sockeye salmon steak with rice pilaf and grilled vegetables. The rice and veggies were good, but the salmon steak was completely raw inside. Not undercooked, but completely raw. I had to send it back. When it returned, I was surprised that it was the same salmon steak. They simply took it off the plate, tossed it back on the grill, and threw away the cooked pieces I had flaked off to eat. No "fine dining" restaurant with a "chef" would ever do this. If a dish is returned, one prepares an entirely new dish. What remained of my salmon steak was returned thoroughly cooked with apologies from the server. No offer of recompense of any sort was made. Again, this would never happen in any "fine dining" establishment. At the very least, a complimentary dessert would be offered. While I enjoyed most of this meal, the view and the service, the overall experience was less than adequate. I doubt that I'll return. This restaurant is touted as "dine dining", "fancy" and "upscale". It is none of those things. Come for the view, but don't expect an above average experience. read more

Excellent place to go on a little date or a nice dinner with family and friends. The food is deliciously prepared and are accompanied by their bread and homemade salmon butter. The dinners include endless trips to their small side salad bar where you can get crab legs, pineapple coleslaw ( my favorite) salmon pasta salad, green salad, beet salad (very tasty) potato salad, and their watermelon with mint. Their trips to the salad bar really helps too because the portions are not very big. This place is great for all ages but I probably would leave the kids at home. One neat thing is that while you wait to be seated (and I highly recommend you make and reservation since this place is seasonal) you can watch the people fishing along the creek below. You can even see them fishing from.the windows making for and very distracting dinner date but still pretty entertaining. So back to the food! Their halibut dinner is absolutely delectable with a side of roasted potatoes or rice pilaf and vegetables. It is a decent sized portion but not enough to share. I find the entrees to be just enoug for one person (again, thank goodness for that small salad bar or I'd still be hungry). The staff is very cordial and friendly and attentive as well. The con is the parking situation and the prices. I find that $38 is a bit steep for the portion size, but I guess the small salad bar kind of helps. This little restaurant is a must in the summer season. Unfortunately the reality is the place is covered in bird poop and smells like dead fish. The bar is small and has very limited seating. Probably why most of the food felt like it had been prepared early in the day or the previous day. Nothing tasted fresh. We came across this establishment randomly. Fresh off the plane and craving some good seafood, we headed towards downtown Anchorage in search of the perfect place to satisfy our cravings, and boy did we find the perfect place! We started off with local oysters on the half shell and local brews, yummm! Next 2 entrees: the Rockfish Olympia and the Salmon Steak hit the spot. Both dishes came with a full salad bar and 2 side dishes. We couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome of these entrees. From the service to the food, my experience was wonderful. It started after being welcomed. The hostess told me about the endless salad bar and what they specialize in. It was unfortunately just me in the party but I was treated with the same respect as a couple. After I was seated my server came and introduced herself. Btw the salad bar had great selections and was totally delish. My server was Jess, and she was more than accommodating. She explained the drinks they have, and even took back a drink I was not completely happy with (it wasn't terrible, I just wasn't happy but she still took it back and replaced it with something else I enjoyed). I asked her about the salmon since that was my goal and she told me about the types of fillets and recommended one in particular which I got and was fantastic. She also told me about the dessert bread pudding which normally everybody hates, but they make theirs with chocolate chips instead of raisins and she didn't lie, it was phenomenal. My only compliant is that I didn't get a complimentary glass of water, even with a drink, but that's it. Service was wonderful and attentive, and food was well worth it. The bathroom is also well stocked and clean. If I ever come back to Anchorage, I will definitely come back here to eat, and I recommend you do too when visiting. Also, try and getaway window seat. Fresh seafood and river views. Bridge Seafood is a seasonal restaurant, open only during the summer. It's located a few minutes driving time from downtown Anchorage and is walking distance from a nearby Comfort Inn. Parking was available in either a paid lot across the street or for free in a handful of spaces in front of the restaurant. Entree choices included local caught fish (sockeye salmon, King salmon, rockfish, halibut), King crab and steak. Each entree came with sourdough bread rolls, smoked salmon spread, and the all-you-can-eat salad bar. During my visit, Copper River sockeye and king salmon were on the menu. Hearing good things about the Copper River salmon quality and freshness, I ordered the King salmon ($36), which was served simply grilled with vegetables and choice of rice pilaf or roasted potatoes. After ordering, I headed to the salad bar. There was pineapple cole slaw, potato salad, smoked salmon pasta salad, green salad, beet salad, watermelon with mint, and cold Bering Sea tanner crab. The salads were so-so. I barely noticed the smoked salmon in the pasta because it tasted rather bland to me. The best thing was the tanner crab. The legs were very skinny and small, but I picked out the claws and larger legs, which had more crab meat in them and were easier to crack open. All-you-can-eat tanner crab was a delight. One of the surprisingly highlights was the sourdough bread roll and smoked salmon spread. Both were very good. The bread roll was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. With a generous helping of spread, it was delicious and I wished I had room to eat more bread. I barely finished my first salad bar run and out came my salmon entree. Half of my salmon filet tasted very tender and fresh, but then sadly, the other half of my salmon had black, burnt grilled marks on it. Burnt tasting and overcooked on the ends? Needless to say I was disappointed. While I enjoyed half of my salmon filet, the other half was just sad. Although, the potatoes and veggies that came with it were good, and nicely roasted and sautéed. Service was good. Hostesses and waitresses were friendly and attentive. After eating at the salad bar, I was given new utensils for my fish entree. My waitress came by to check on me a few times as well. Overall, I liked the dining experience at Bridge Seafood, but I'm still a bit sad about my salmon entree. The past week or so in Anchorage has been.....interesting. I've been through a roller coaster of emotions ranging from excited/curious, intrigued, shocked, bored out of my mind, and contemplating jumping off the roof of the Marriott (kidding--no hotlines please) all laced with feeling cold. Nonetheless Bridge has been a savior in this definite week of need. We've come here TWICE in the past 3 days. First off this place is only open in the summer months and the location is truly breathtaking. It sits on a bridge (how clever right?) and you are guaranteed to see loads of the local fisherman trying their luck at catching fish. Inside, the restaurant is bright and classy, and as you walk to your table you see the salad bar with the creme de la creme waiting for you -- the all you can eat crab. Which leads me to.... The Food: All entrees come with the all you can eat salad bar which includes endless tanner crab (similar to snow crab), beet salad, potato salad, mixed greens, salmon pasta, and fresh watermelon cubes. You also get sourdough rolls with salmon spread at the table. Since I wasn't a huge fan of any of the "salads" available at the bar I chose to eat my weight in crab instead. In fact our family of four probably consumed 10 pounds of it. Not kidding. I really liked how you have buckets at your table for all your crab leftovers, and the waiters are really nice about getting you fresh buckets when you need them. Definitely ask for melted butter for the crab--it takes it to a completely different level. The one thing that was a bummer for me was the sourdough rolls here. When you look at them you expect them to be pipping hot and super soft in the inside, but really they're room temperature and sort of dry. The salmon spread is interesting...but it doesn't come close to saving the blah that was the roll. This was the only meh part of my Bridge experience. Now comes the entrees! I ordered the King Salmon with potatoes and I have to say it's probably the best salmon I've ever had. The fish is moist, fresh, cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The potatoes are the perfect starch to accompany the fish as well. My brother got the ribeye and I must say portion wise this is probably the best deal I've ever heard of. 36$ for a 16 oz GIANT rib eye cooked to perfection with sides and all you can eat crab and salad? I'd say that's a steal. My mom got the rockfish while my dad got the king crab. All of their entrees were also cooked flawlessly and tasted fantastic. Dessert: Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream. Done. I had actually never tried rhubarb before this delightful crisp but opted to go for it as I'd seen so many different recipes using it on the food channel. I'm so glad I tried it as I am now obsessed. I'm definitely going to try and reconstruct this baby at home. The whole thing is like a sweet yet tart cobbler with a delicious crumbly topping packed with brown sugar and cinnamon. Grab some of that steaming fruity yummyness and a wedge of ice cream and mmmm you're in heaven. All in all, if you ever find yourself in Anchorage in the summer time. Bridge Seafood isn't for everyone. However, there's always a place for seafood lovers, those that don't mind spending more for quality. In short, while you will find a fabulous view of Ship Creek from your table you aren't going to find any bargains on the menu. Most of the items range from $20 to $45, without including drinks. That may seem steep to some, but it's fair for fresh seafood. And, unlike many restaurants that advertise it, the seafood is fresh here. Keep in mind, the Bridge isn't opened year round. It's normally stays open May through sometime around Labor Day, or when tourists are in town. The rest of the year doesn't provide enough traffic in the area to maintain business. In short, if you're in Anchorage for vacation and are seeking a quality meal, you'll find a comfortable seat and good service here. Many of the vegetables are locally sourced as well. This is a great place for a special dinner, a celebration, someone's birthday, etc, rather than a quick spot for lunch. Bridge Seafood follows the seafood theme, as expected, but displays a casual theme. You can arrive in fishing clothes or dressed to impress. Plan to spend $40 a person, at least. There's an array of items to enjoy. I'm partial to the halibut simply because it's one of the few places you can get fresh, not fresh-frozen halibut. The rockfish is less expensive, but still meets any seafood lover's standards. As expected, salmon always is available, but don't overlook the Mac and Cheese, which is served with smoked salmon and reindeer sausage. Chicken and steak are also on the menu, but if I'm in Alaska, I'm ordering seafood. Two things to consider: all meals come with a starter bar, which has the following items. Bering Sea tanner crab (tanner - not king), Alaskan smoked salmon & rotini pasta salad, Matanuska (that's the name of a local glacier) potato salad, summer green salad (fresh greens, not iceberg lettuce), pineapple cole slaw, roasted beet salad (we were impressed with the flavor of this), and watermelon salad. If you can plan a trip come around sunset. That scene with Ship Creek on both sides of the restaurant makes for more than a memorable experience. What a fantastic evening we enjoyed at Bridge Seafood. The restaurant is just a short walk from the heart of downtown but is in a beautiful area on the water and near the Alaska Railroad depot. As it is off the beaten path it mainly attracts locals and provides more of an authentic Alaskan experience than dining in downtown proper. True to it's name the restaurant was literally built atop a bridge. Weather permitting have a pre dinner drink al fresco; a half dozen tables near the entrance gaze downwards to the river and afford a view of fisherman trying to catch salmon (tonight king salmon were running). The interior of Bridge is quite attractive as well with ample windows gazing at the river and the snow capped mountains in the background. The decor is modern and the pattern of the ceiling bore striking resemblance to Next Restaurant in Chicago; even the bathrooms were attractive and contemporary. Service is warn, attentive and friendly and trendy music plays in the background, just loud enough to be heard, but not a distraction. Perhaps my only complaint of service was the pace of the meal was too fast (appetizer arrived before we were done with salads, entree came within a couple minutes of the appetizer being consumed and the bill was delivered with dessert). There were other aspects of service that were different than what I am used to in similarly priced venues in Chicago, but this is more an Anchorage versus Chicago regional difference than anything the restaurant is doing wrong; the warmth of the staff was of far more importance than the highly polished service I am accustomed to in Chicago. If you have Jeanne as your server you will be well cared for. I would classify Bridge as a relaxed fine dining venue. The food itself is outstanding. Executive chef Al Levinsohn hails from California and in recent years has worked at Alaska's top venues (including AAA four diamond Glacier Restaurant) before moving on to Bridge. The menu features fresh Alaskan seafood. The meal commences with a help yourself salad buffet that included all you can eat spanner crab, traditional salad, salmon pasta salad and more. For appetizers we split a half dozen Kachemak Bay oysters on the half shell that were served with a really nice cocktail sauce with just the right amount of heat. For entrees my wife opted for the Bering Sea king crab legs and I ordered the Copper River sockeye salmon steak. In addition to including the salad buffet, entrees also come with vegetables and your choice of Alaskan potatoes or rice pilaf. Portions are not the largest (but are fair) and including the extras it was a filling meal. Plating is nothing fancy, but this venue is more about substance than style when it comes to the cuisine. While there is no dedicated pastry chef and only three dessert options, we both loved our final course; I had the strawberry rhubarb crisp and my wife a sourdough bread pudding with caramel. The wine list is limited, but has some nice options and is really favorably priced; we ordered a bottle of Meiomi Pinot Noir for $42. There was also several beers on draught, mostly local, all for $6, but the list needed updating (the first three we attempted to order were not in stock). Appetizers are mostly in $12 to $14 range and entrees in the low $30's (excluding the king crab which is $49 a pound). Factoring in the ambiance, quality and extras we felt this was an excellent value. Bridge also offers catering (details on their website). After dinner we took our leftover wine to the outdoor seating area to finish (Jeanne even checked for us if there was seating available) and subsequently spent well over an hour being entertained watching the fisherman and mingling with the friendly locals. We loved our experience so much that before leaving we booked a second dinner at Bridge for our final night in Alaska. This venue is truly a must for locals and people in from out of town seeking a stellar dinner and wonderful evening out. The experience is worthy of a special occasion yet affordable and approachable enough for a nice date night or dinner with friends. Reservations can be made via telephone. The atmosphere was very welcoming. You can dress up or you can dress Alaskan (jeans and a nice top). They accommodated our party of 8 very easily. I think the server could have been better, but they come and go. I ordered the 16oz ribeye steak and it was very moist and tender. The seasoning was very good, and I required no additional sauce with my steak. It was a hefty size, so it made well for two meals. I had a side order of vegetables and the rice pilaf. I could have ate the vegetables all day long, but they only offer small portions. However, that wasn't a problem because every meal came with an unlimited salad bar that consisted of crab. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate chip bread pudding. I felt like I was eating a moist cookie. It was delicious. I wish it came with ice cream, but I probably could have ordered a scoop if I wanted. Overall, I think it was a great experience and would recommend it to visitors. read more

My husband and I went here on date night. we had never been there before. Well everything was tantalizingly delicious. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and was seasoned so well my husband didn't take any of it home. He gobbled it up! And it was a perfectly generous proportion. I had the seared Rockfish w Ginger and a tasty sauce. It was the best I've ever had. Great scenery outside and decor is very tastefully done. The music too was perfect. I highly recommend.
