I can still remember having the best time during college tubing down the river with friends, the proverbial cooler tied onto one of the guy's tubes. It was great way to spend a lazy, hot Saturday in the south. An added bonus was that it was free and it was rather fun waving at the people fishing on the shoreline or driving across the bridge. I think the area has opened up for more activies since my college years. There used to be a hydroelectric dam upstream that could control releases, but it was destroyed in Hurricane Helene. The future of the dam is uncertain. I appreciated the warm welcome we received when we arrived. We had booked online and signed all of our waivers before we got there. We reserved(rented) water shoes for several folks, as they did not have appropriate footwear. Check in, shoe selection, and safety briefing went quickly , and we were in our tubes in no time. The river was mainly calm stretches punctuated by intermittent small rapid areas. Nothing felt daunting or too dangerous. It had the right level of excitement for the kids to handle themselves. The take out was well marked. It was easy to get our tubes up to the van for the short ride back. We took the first time slot of the day, and were amazed by the crowded parking lot when we returned around noon. We look forward to returning.

Walked into Canopy Ridge on our visit to Lake Lure and it was Phenomenal. We didn't have…read morereservations and the ladies welcomed us with open arms. There was a group about to leave that we could join so it worked perfectly. We filled out the wavers and also rented a Go Pro for our helmet. After that, we got our harness from our two guides. The two guides we had were amazing and so informative and the kept us entertained the entire time. They actually made the experience fun for us. For 80 per person, you get to ride six different lines that range in height, distance, and speed. Before every ride, the guides give safety tips and the best way to enjoy the ride. For a first-time rider, I'm so glad I was in the hands of Canopy Ridge I felt safe and I was never unsure on every line. It also involves some hiking but only a few steps. We enjoyed being in Nature and the weather was perfect. If you are ever in the area of Canopy Ridge Farm is a must.
