Overall disappointed with James' level of service and communication. I started out well. I saw some great videos of him reviving dead macbooks. So I asked if he could do and he said yes and gave me a reasonable quote. I sent my macbook in.. And waited.. and waited.. Weeks went by. i emailed, no response. I called and he said he was waiting for a part from China. waited a few weeks more with limited response. Finally, about 7 weeks into this, he sent me a invoice. Great, i thought, he finally fixed it and was sending me an invoice, so I could get my computer back. I got the computer back and fired it up. it was still dead. I emailed James and he said that he was not able to fix it and the costs were for diagnosis and time spent. He never did mention that it was STILL BROKEN. There was not even a recognition that it had taken approx 7 weeks to get a broken laptop back or poor communication throughout. It would have been better if he said early on that the laptop was dead, then I could have moved on and got something else, rather than waiting, and waiting, and waiting. read more

This business is a total joke. Anyone that questions this should check the BBB and the companies F rating. After some online research I came across this joke of a business. While I could not repair the logic board on my own, I knew this was the issue. I was hoping for a repair rather than the cost of replacing it with a new board (which I could have purchased and replaced on my own). After speaking with James aka "the crook" I felt comfortable in his knowledge and ability to make the repair. I priority shipped my (disassembled with all components in labeled ziplock bags)computer and after 10 days of it sitting at the post office for pickup I called the business. The computer was finally picked up 4 days after my phone call. I waited approximately 2 more weeks with no word or estimate. I once again phoned the business and spoke with Billy regarding the computer and the lack of any communication or estimate. I was emailed a very inflated estimate for work that I didn't request and work that wasn't done (like disassembling the computer which I had done prior to shipping). When I called the business back after reviewing the estimate I had the pleasure of speaking with Billy...insert sarcasm here. I questioned multiple items on the estimate and was basically told by Billy that it would be $250 for the diagnostic work that was done....umm what diagnostic work. At this point it was pretty clear that my computer was being held hostage. What was even more clear after some additional research is that this business hopes that people will just walk away from these units so they can then repair and post them on for sale sites like craigslist. (They are no longer able to sell on eBay due to poor feedback and complaints). At this point I realized this was a poor choice of business to deal with. However I was already $250 in for nothing and could start over with a new business from scratch or pay an additional $200 to have the logic board repaired. I chose the later....mistake #238374322. After spending $410 I finally received my computer today after almost 3 1/2 months. I received the computer in pieces (having paid an additional $65 reassembly charge) with no RAM. So my question when I called back again today to talk to James aka "the crook" was how do you even know the computer is working if you didn't put my RAM back in the computer. All you know is that it will power up. I sent you all of the pieces and only got some back. James screams over the phone "Billy did you put that RAM back in the computer?" His next response to me was ma'am Billy said he put it back in the computer so how do I know you didn't take it out. Long story short is the business is a joke. They are crooks and thieves and hope that people won't return or pay the diagnostic fee to get their equipment back. What James doesn't know is I have a LOT of time on my hands....along with a sister that just so happens to practice law in Chattanooga. She is currently drafting a demand letter for a refund of a portion of my money. I have the "you no get me, I get you mentality." So with free legal service at my disposal it's worth the filing fee to file a claim in small claims court! Stay tuned and I will update. In the meantime, do your homework better than I did. No one with that many complaints with the BBB or on other consumer sites is legit! read more

This company is close to my house and after asking for a quote on fixing the hinges on my laptop I thought the price was good and the business was convenient so I would give them a try. I did not do my due diligence to seek out reviews for this company. I started this process at the end of June and I did not receive my computer back and fixed until late October! And that was only after I had to threaten a lawsuit and got a lawyer involved. Here are the major issues. 1. Communication and Professionalism--James has the worst customer service of any individual I have met. He will not return phone calls. Would not give updates on my repair. When confronted about the lack of communication he simply said that he would no longer fix my computer. He went back on his word. He used profanity when I confronted him. He threatened me when I told him I would have to sue if he did not uphold our business agreement to fix my computer saying, "If you do that, that would be the worst mistake of your life. You won't be able to walk around in this town any more if you decide to do that." 2. Business practices--James requires that you pay for parts and services upfront with no guarantee that those parts will arrive nor that the services will be completed. Upon trying to fix the hinges and put a new lid on my laptop one of his employees cracked my screen. The employee did not alert me to this issue until I called to check on status (They never call you to inform you, you have to always hunt them down through a phone screening process). Once I called he said that he broke the screen and had ordered another one and that cost would be covered by them. When that new screen came in 4 weeks later, it was faulty. So they had to order another one. 5 more weeks went by and they couldn't tell me where the part was. The employee said he had a tracking number he would send to me, James said there was no tracking number. They finally got tired of me calling and asking and told me that I was out of luck and they would no longer due business with me and wouldn't even refund my money. 3. Get a lawyer to make sure they at least do part of what they said. In the end I paid for the new lid and hinges and I also had to pay for half of the cost of a new screen that they broke! I agreed to pay this through my lawyer just to rid myself of this horrible experience. When I received my laptop back I had 3 screws missing on the back casing, my wifi dongle was gone, and a piece of paper wadded up in my machine. I recommend that you steer clear of James, his horrible attitude and his shadiness. I will be happy to discuss this experience with anyone who needs more information. I asked him to upgrade my computer, get a new mother board, max out the RAM, etc. After a couple days he said that he had a better used system that was faster than mine could be upgraded to and that it would be better and cheaper if I were to just buy that one. Such a deal! The one he sold me was older and MUCH SLOWER than the one I had. It took me over a week and 4 visits to his office to get my money and my computer back. Then he gave me a lot of grief saying he usually charges $75 to restore a system after he screws it up and he threatened to keep my computer, etc. If you are tempted to do any business with this person.... My experience: 1. Called to inquire about a new battery for my Apple MacBook air. Got through to owner who told me he was at lunch and would return my call in an hour when he returned to the shop. He didn't. 2. Called 2nd time and owner located a battery. We set a time but he made it clear that he gets in "around" 10am as he has a child to drop off and if he wasn't there to leave the computer with an associate and it would take an hour to replace the battery at a cost of $160-. CASH or CHECK only. 3. Called 3x (my bad) for directions as the place is a bit difficult to find and set back from the road. 4. Finally arrives and asks to see if I could have the computer in 50 minutes rather than 60 minutes as I was now late for another appt after having difficulty finding the place. 5. Owner goes off the deep end and tells me that's why we made the appt. etc. etc. etc. Discourteous, disrespectful, worse customer service ever; acted like I was doing him a favor by being there. 6. End result: Brought my computer 2 doors down to the place next to Fed Ex and not only was treated like royalty but the total cost was only $130- which saved me $30-. Bottom line; Avoid at all costs; he won't be in business within a year!! read more

The short story. Sent in two circuit boards to be repaired for a treadmill, paid money up front for the repair, circuit boards were never repaired, treadmills still not running. This company has stopped communication. No return of circuit boards, no repair, no refund. The long story. Found this business on an Internet search. Sent in two defective circuit boards from a treadmill. Paid for a diagnostic fee, $50 I believe. Was told that both circuit boards could be repaired, for a cost of less than $200. Had to pay the $200 by check, before work could proceed. Waited several months, was told that parts were coming from China. Did not know when parts would arrive. Eventually one circuit board was returned to us, however when that circuit board was placed in the treadmill, the same original problem existed. James Howell the owner was informed of the circuit board still not working, he sent an email, asking us to return the circuit board. That was the last time we have heard from this company. This company has taken money, taken both the circuit boards, unable to fix either circuit board. Refuses to respond to emails. Wasted 4 months dealing with this company. I see on other complaints that he uses the excuse of parts coming from China. In our case he did attempt to repair one circuit board, he sent the circuit board back to us. However he had no way of testing In the device it was Intended for, that is a treadmill. When we tried it in our treadmill, it did not work. The same original problem with the circuit board had not been fixed. I explained that in the email, and I was told to return that circuit board, which we did. Following that return, we had no more communication with this company, James Howell refuses to respond to our emails. I would at least like to have my circuit boards back, so I could send it to a different repair company, a company that is more reputable than this company. I am out of money, including shipping costs. I'm out of time, waiting for this company to fix these items. This company has a F rating on the Better Business Bureau. I have filed a complaint with them. If you thinking of dealing with this company, would highly recommend against it. Also would attempt to only pay with credit card, do not pay by check. At least with a credit card payment, you have some recourse if the repair is not performed. I next plan to file a complaint with Chattanooga Police Department. This company has taken my money, and likely has taken many other individuals money. This business needs to be closed, and the owner thrown in jail. read more

Takes 50+ bucks to diagnose a problem so you have to know it is worth it and abt what it should cost before you go . I went with a chromebook and could not logically pay more than 100 to fix and diagnose - they did not have any idea there a range on cost . No problem frm me on that - but when i went to leave they came close to refusing to return my personal information which i had filled out while in the store. I was not rude but i am not paying more than somethg to fix it - which they said they would if it was theirs. Unfortunate. I wd recommend pcpi in tunnel hill ga- it wd be crazy to repair somethg at greater cost than it was worth. * addition after reply- i went back to get the paper with my personal contact information on it - he did not need it since i did not leave my item . He at first did not want to give it to me - i had filled out my name, address and phone number in anticipation of leaving the item . That struck me as odd - plus i did not know abt the diagnostic charge until i went in / and it simply would have been stupid to spend over a 100 dollars repairing somethg that can be purchased refurbished today for 129 on the internet . A simple piece of advice wd have been what i expected - he seemed angry that i did not choose to leave it. Plus usually the cost of diagnosis is applied toward a repair. read more
