Pizza buffet is the best. You can substitute your soft drink with a draft beer for a small upcharge. The staff keeps the pizza line filled all the time, with a good variety. It must be a stressful lunch time for them, but they do a really good job! I do wish they had the pizza of the month out on the buffet more often but I imagine there's a set amount of those they're supposed to make. The pizza was pretty good however the place was pretty dirty. The containers that hold the condiments next to the salad bar was actually filthy. This by far has been our worst visit yet. Being a small town, my wife and I (both African-Americans) are used to patrons starring by now. But it's another thing when the cashier acts like she doesn't want to touch my hand to take my card for payment. Let's just say I was not amused in the least, but it gets more blatant. I thought it might have been a coincidence when the other African-American patron had a table full of plates that should have been periodically picked up but it wasn't. The cashier picked up plates at every other station except ours, and seem to avoid our station even as she picked up plates from patrons right across from us. Turns out there was a second person monitoring and cleaning tables and she looked right at our table and acted like she didn't see anything. Review is really for 3 1/2 stars, would err on the side of high in this case as it is the best Pizza in the Bastrop area we have tried. Pepperoni rolls are always tasty here, I also really enjoy's the Dave's Fave Meat pizza. Prefer this pizza over all the other chains in the area. This isn't artisan pizza, but is damn tasty for a chain. read more

It's a solid lunch place. The buffet will have several different pizzas out, but the pizza is really nothing special. The cheeses teak stromboli and pepperoni rolls are fantastic though. There was a typical little salad bar for those who do not want pizza. read more

Amazingly Awesome!!!!!! The food is phenomenal for the price. $5 for children $9 for adults?! That's better than big food chains. Moreover, the customer service was pretty cool. Extremely friendly. Not from Bastrop so coming here from Houston on the way to Austin made my day. And of course the children flipped out seeing the "Pizzookie" and other sweet treats. We like the pizza at Doubledave's, but they often take forever to deliver. Tonight was no exception. Well over an hour now since we ordered and 30 minutes since the text that it is out for delivery and pizza still isn't here. On top of this, when I called for a status, the manager in charge cut me off and said that it's a busy Friday night and that everything is taking longer, which I understand. What I don't understand is that we live 5 minutes from the store and yet we are always the last in the delivery route. What I also don't understand is how a manager can be so nonchalant and rude when they take far too long. At least the manager could have sincerely apologized for the repeated delays, but nope. When I brought it to the attention of staff they did refill some toppings; however the bar was never cleaned up.during our whole visit. It had obviously been neglected for hours! The service is excellent and even when the restaurant is full, the staff is running around making sure everyone has what they need! Fortunately, they also seem to have hired some new help, or lectured the existing ones on customer service. On my visit, it was clear everyone was trying to be helpful & courteous. (Bastrop is just a tough place to get good teenage counter help, going by my experience at other places.) The food is decent for a chain restaurant, though in the middle of the afternoon the salad bar was a little tired. The main problem, which a number of Bastrop restaurants have, is the flies. There were flies all over the salad bar. They need to move the salad away from the door & get some kind of fans or something to keep the flies away. read more

Buyer beware I ordered thru yelp and grub hub. When the status said order ready I went to pick up the order. Double Dave's said they did not have an order for me. After some digging they found the order and started to cook it right away. I'm not sure if it was grub hub or double Dave's fault but I will not be using grub hub anytime soon. Do not go to this Double Dave's pizza. The entire staff knows nothing about customer service. The girl at the front counter was rude and a total B**CH, screaming all of her responses at me. Then when I returned to pick up the order, the manager had an attitude about why it had not been picked up. When I got home the order was wrong, I had ordered a meatball sub with sweet peppers and it was loaded with jalapenos. When I called the manager, Greg, I was put under questioning by the staff member that answered the phone, then when Greg got on the phone he wanted to argue that he had made the sandwich himself and then when he couldn't handle the complaint decided I needed to call corporate. Well corporate is no better. They couldn't even return the call. Taking my business elsewhere and will let anybody that I come into contact with to avoid this Double Dave's. read more

Only reason they got 1 star is due to the fact I can't give no stars. Pain, the "manager on duty", was rude and highly offensive towards people with intellectual disabilities. After messing up my order of over $65, she had the audacity to yell and hang up the phone on me. I will never be a patron to this business again. I caution anybody who orders from double Daves. This is the second time they have messed up my order, of which, they still not refunded my $50.22 from my last order which was in April of this year. Not sure why there aren't more great reviews on this place. My wife and I don't eat out often, but when we can, we love to come here. To be honest, we've not tried much of the menu, but we love ye pizza rolls and the ranch. If that's all they served, that would be enough. They are delicious.
