We ate there for lunch on checkout day and it was every bit as good as it smelled! We ordered a bowl of minestrone and one of the pasta combo plates. I do need to say that the restaraunt was lovely, very comfortable. we did go on a very busy weekend so it did take a minute to get service but the staff was very kind. My rating was based solely on the food, it was not good at all. We ordered calamari which was seaseoned horribly, half was covered in spices and half with none. My child ordered the chicken alfredo and she said "oh this is good, it tastes just like the frozen dinners" which for me is not good. As for me, I rodered a pizza with ham to play it safe and it actually did taste like a frozen pizza. The price for mediocre food was sad to me. read more

So there's always a concern when you're gluten-free and finding something to eat, but I was super happy to find that they had gluten-free pizza and weren't stingy with toppings. I was able to get a really tasty Hawaiian pizza and a small salad made with actual greens instead of iceberg lettuce. My friend also really liked their meal. We arrived when they opened so it was a bit empty but it later filled up after we had left. The staff was attentive and friendly. My wife and I came here from Houston for the day. Our main purpose was to go to Angels and Outlaws. But we decided to stop for lunch beforehand. And thank goodness. The food was delicious. This place is first class decorated like a traditional Italian restaurant with soft music playing. The place is spotless. The food is very good with some nice touches. Probably wasn't a good idea for Mother's Day lunch as the place was packed. Still Mom wanted to eat there and says it's good. We were seated quickly, ordered soon after, got our bread, soup, and salad within 5 minutes, now 45 minutes later our food came out. Shrimp scampi was just ok, nothing special, felt like it was missing something, nevertheless, was ok. Chicken Alfredo was better, rolls were hot and fresh, chicken soup was excellent, salad was super simple but fresh. For a small town Italian joint it was pretty good, a little more detail would have granted 4 stars but 45 minutes for our food was a little overboard. Bad experience here, both food and service. Minestrone soup tasted canned, and temperature was lukewarm. I rarely send food back, but just couldn't eat it. Garlic rolls were fresh but flavorless. First of all, we arrive at dinner time, 6:30 pm. We walked in and the heat slaps you in the face. It was very hot, at least 80 degrees inside. We should have turned around and walked out. There were only 3 other tables occupied. The rolls came out hard as a rock. Our entrees came out very quickly and were barely edible. Shrimp Scampi had 5 shrimp on top of pasta swimming in sauce. The shrimp had no seasoning and was very dry and rubbery, like it had been microwaved. The sauce had a weird bland taste to it and something was just "off" with it. I ate 2-1/2 of the shrimp and maybe 4 bites of the pasta. My husband's lasagna tasted and even smelled like "Chef Boyardee". I told the waitress about the disappointment of the meal and the issues. She gave us a 25% discount on the scampi. As soon as we got back to our hotel, I was immediately nauseous with stomach pain and felt like I was going to vomit. La Bella Tavolla, beautiful table, what a great name for an Italian Restaurant! It is downtown in a cool old building that is connected to Dilworth Inn. Nice food, at a reasonable price, options on the menu come with a soup or salad! The wine selection is a bit pricey for the brands, but ok. The service was very friendly and prompt. We felt rushed. It was in the afternoon for an early supper. It wasn't busy, at all.(I think just 2 other tables occupied) We received our bread and olive oil which was very tasty with our salad (interesting and good tomato based dressing). Quickly afterwards, out came our entrees placed at the edge of our table, because we weren't ready for them. (I was bummed....hate my food to get cold). We noticed the same happened at another table. The Marsala sauce, although good, tasted closer to a thicker brown gravy than Marsala wine sauce. Their red sauce was good, nice cannelloni, and lasagne (but there was barely any meat in it). Tiramisu was tasty! The cannoli was good if you like it on the sweet side. The restrooms were clean and it was nice to look at the paintings for sale in the hallway leading up to them! They never have enough people working . They need to hire a person to bus tables. It's disgusting eating your meal with all tables around you dirty. There checkout is too confusing, with all this COVID and more Take-out there are too many customers hanging out. Not sure the understand about social distancing but they sit people right next to each other.
