Literally the best pasta & salad J have had in very long time MY GOD! The service is phenomenal, the staff are unbelievably nice! Also, the atmosphere is so cute. Highly highlyyyy recommend!

Garlic bread and Patrizis Red Sauce with a meatball

I enjoyed my meal at Patrizi's. It wasn't the traditional Italian meal that I was looking for though. The garlic bread was a different take on garlic bread and although, it was tasty, it just wasn't traditional. The Patrizi's red sauce and meatball were very good, but I felt there were just too many things put on top of the spaghetti and meatball and it should've been able to speak for itself. Next time, I will probably go to the indoor location. The outdoor location provided too many mosquito bites this time.

Gooooood gravy this place is amazing. We got the meal for two...it could feed four. Everything was amazing...go there...that's it.

I went in with very low expectations (not sure why?!) The sauces were all the excellent and unique. The meatball and chicken were both great additions! The bruschetta with eggplant caponata was delicious! Their bread was so good and then you put the delicious eggplant on top - chef's kiss! The seasonal salad was farro, sweet potatoes and other interesting things with feta cheese. I didn't think I would like it because I don't like sweet things, but it was excellent. If you like spice, add the chilis for $1.50. They're great. Ironically, I didn't think the pasta was anything too different considering it was fresh pasta, but everything was very well executed.

They make everything from scratch so it takes a bit to get the food. The Marfa tomato salad was probably the highlight - so good! Wasn't the biggest fan of the pasta type and there was no option to change it. The meatball was +$5 and had a lot of parsley in it. Tastes authentic but overall wasn't too impressed with the pasta entree.

You can taste how fresh the homemade pasta and sauces are. Every time I've come I've enjoyed the dishes I've tried. Definitely recommend the garlic bread and the carbonara. I haven't tried the desserts or other apps because I get so full. The line can be a little daunting, but it goes by quickly and food will come to your table within about 20 minutes. While you're waiting, get a drink inside! They have cats roaming around so you'll most likely have a little friend near by your table.

Stopped by Patrizis on a Friday night with a friend for dinner. Parking is brutal, be prepared to look for street parking a few blocks away. The line is super long - I waited for about half an hour to place my order. Service was so friendly and helpful - they even gave me a complimentary piece of garlic bread as it was my first time, so thoughtful! I ordered the pasta & salad combo - Patrizis salad & Patrizis red sauce. I grabbed a table in the lovely covered patio, and waited another 40 mins for my food. After all the waiting I was starving. Patrizi Salad - 10/10 delicious. Definitely try! Garlic Bread - Chefs kiss! Freshly baked, soft, and topped with fresh flavorful garlic. Patrizi Pasta with Red Sauce - 6/10. So disappointing! The pasta itself was clearly made in house and delicious + fresh but the sauce was underwhelming and way too sweet for my taste. It was a good experience but I expected more. Not sure it's worth the hype.

Stopped by on a Friday and there was a bit of a wait-about 20 mins in line and 30ish mins to get pasta after ordering. This was definitely worth the wait though! We got the Abbiocco which is meant for two but probably could serve closer to 3 and for $55 is a good deal. It comes with salad, veggie, protein, garlic bread and three half servings of pasta. My favorites were for sure the cacio e Pepe and the pomodoro. The garlic bread has some garlic confit that was a lovely touch. You can tell that the pasta is made fresh and the ingredients were also very fresh tasting. Also portion sized are very very good for the price. The seating is outdoor and there's plenty of it. It's a really cool space and staff is super friendly.

Was craving for some pasta and stumbled upon this place and boy am I GLAD we got to try Patrizi's before leaving! Solid options to choose from but I went with the Carbonara Alexandra. Holy sh-- it was SO good. The portion size was perfect and the price was just right, not overly expensive but damn the flavor!!!! It was so good I finished it in one go lol (and I'm usually a leftovers girlie). The garlic bread was CHEF'S KISS. you gotta finish it quick while it's hot, fresh and crispy. The garlic confit on top was a perfect addition. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We came around 7pm on a Saturday so it took about 45 mins to get pasta, but you can at least grab a drink at Butterfly Bar and munch on the garlic bread! Ambiance was super cute, plenty of tables to choose from. I loved the food truck, backyard vibes. I will definitely come back when I'm in Austin again!

Went here to celebrate bf's friend's dog adoption anniversary. Such important event required a special spot to celebrate. We arrived early and they had a small line, but got very busy after 6:30p Our server was really nice and quick. This time we went for the curated meal for two and oh gosh it was so much food. I really enjoyed meatballs, garlic bread, and cacio e pepe. We were barely able to finish but luckily we got some help. Anywhooooo, this is still a 5 star experience in my books.

Patrizi's was recommended to me by a friend and it's safe to say that it's going to one that I'll be coming back to. The pasta is freshly made and has a bite very different from boxed pasta. We ordered the carbonara alexandra, lemon thyme pasta, and the garlic bread. The portions were very filling. If you're looking to share food, get a pasta dish and the garlic bread to share and that would be enough. The garlic bread will change your life if you're a garlic fiend like me. Whole chunks of confit garlic on buttery bread. Simply chefs kiss. Get there early at 5:30 when Patrizi opens and save yourself the headache of waiting in line or just order takeout. I went early, had an early dinner, then craved the pasta again the same night and had my leftovers. With everyone eating outside, so are the mosquitos, and there's plenty of them active. There was some mosquito repellent by the water cups, so I'd use some or wear some long sleeves before you decide to dine out.

We heard a lot of good things about Patrizi's and had a craving for some good pasta, so we figured we'd drop by. The parking situation isn't too bad as there's a lot of spaces to choose from. You enter a big courtyard that looks pretty nice and there's a ton of seating inside. There's an attached bar as well, so they recommend grabbing a drink while you wait for your food to come out. They have two different areas to sit at, all with misters if you're hot, and one side includes a stage for what is live music or shows at some point. As for the food, we won't sugarcoat it, Patrizi's is not that good. We ordered their pomodoro with a meatball and cacio e pepe with chicken. The pomodoro was not special at all, pretty standard for a pomodoro anywhere, except for the fact this sauce was just missing something and it was pretty thin. The meatball was also strange, not very firm and fell apart way too easily, plus the mix itself tasted a bit odd as there were onions in it. As for the cacio e pepe, it was alright. The pasta was relatively firm and there should have been more cream and cheese in it. The chicken was easily the best part of both dishes as it was moist and seasoned well. Look, the pasta isn't bad, but when you're paying around $20 a plate and the portions are small and they come out on paper plates with plastic utensils, you have a right to critique it. This is one of the rare times in Austin we've gone heavily against the grain and would not recommend you stop by Patrizi's. There's definitely potential but just be wary.

Definitely the best semi-casual Italian I've had in Austin. I would come back for the garlic bread alone - it's a must order. The pasta tastes fresh and homemade, and the sauces are also very good. It's a great casual option for dates or hangs. It's located in the vortex, which has a bar and a stage for events. Dog-friendly too. Service was quick, although be prepared to wait in line if you go at a popular time.

    Patrizi's Reviews in Other Languages

    Ask the Community - Patrizi's

Can you bring a bottle of wine?

No, Patrizi's is not BYOB. There is a bar inside.

    Are there bathrooms?

Yes. There is an indoor bar

Hi. After reading so many amazing reviews I was wondering if you can order ahead and then stay and eat at the picnic tables?

I think the only 'ordering ahead' would be via their online website. But online orders are for "takeaway" only. The hostess at the front doesn't allow those picking up online orders to dine at the picnic tables

It looks like everything in the photos is on paper plates? Is that the situation?

Yep! It's part of a wonderful vibrant area called the Vortex. You have a bar, little booths and this restaurant. They get food to your table in paper plates

Does anybody know what is going on with this place? This is the second night in a row we've tried to order from them and their website says "sold out" for everything? This is 1/6/21 - are they closed? If anyone has any insight, please share.

Yes they are open. Call early to order before they sell out.

Is it a dog friendly patio?

    Yes they adore dogs!

Do they do to go orders?

    Yes they do!

    Do they have heater's?

Yes, they have outdoor heat lamps everywhere and a fire pit. Last night was a chilly 45 degrees and I sat between the fire pit and a heat lamp, I had no problem sitting the whole night to eat pasta and listen to the live music.

Do they have any gluten free options for persons with celiac disease?

No, on the website they say they stopped offering gf food because they have flour everywhere.

What's the "kid friendly" situation here?

It's just like hangin out in someone's backyard.

This restaurant was everything I could of asked for. Probably the best restaurant we tried in all of Austin. I'm from Los Angeles, and have been to many high end and hip restaurants, this was definitely up there with some of the best restaurants. Food: Crab tagliatelle is a must! This dish was delicious and everything you can ask for from a pasta. Gnocchi special with Peas and Asperagus is a must. This creamy and feather light dish was packed with so much flavour. Lobster scalloping was very good as well and so was the filet mignon. But best of all were the side of carrots, pear and endive salad and the Cho salad. I highly recommend ordering family style for the table but make sure your whole party is on board with splitting the check evenly because the restaurant does not break up the check according to diners only split evenly, I believe up to four ways. Example: Our check was $822 (included gratuities) for seven people and we were only able to split evenly four ways. Roughly $118 each. It is what it is but I didn't even get a main course. Just a glass of wine, a half of a piece of bruschetta, some of the Caesar salad and a small portion of the gnocchi (all shared) I'm glad I got to experience Red Ash, but now that I've checked that off my list, I'm good.

After giving our keys away we walked into what is a beautiful outside area at Juliet's. It's a nice mix of feeling like you're in downtown Austin but also not. We went inside to request two seats outside and this is unfortunately where everything fell apart. After being seated all the way at the very corner of the restaurant near the entrance, we didn't receive water for 15 minutes. In fact, we had to ask for water, as well as silverware, from a person who was cleaning a table- not a waiter. We didn't order until about 30 minutes after being seated. We noticed that others around us who were dressed nicer for the occasion were receiving service but we were not (jeans and a nice top as opposed to a dressy outfit). This is less of an accusation and more of an observation. It took another waiter noticing that we had not been served to come over and take our order, and that was 5 minutes after we had to flag down a busser to ask for water. The flip side of that whole first part is that the food was pretty good. We got complimentary table bread (after we asked for it since it never came before our main meal) that was soft and went well with the olive oil it came with. For our entrees we got the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. The shrimp scampi was fantastic and light with creamy and bold flavors in-between. The chicken parm was maybe the largest chicken cutlet we've seen given out at a restaurant. Not only was the cutlet massive but it was delicious as well with a nice, light breading and cheese on top. The spaghetti alongside it was a nice touch but this was a true chicken parm entree as it should be. We were offered a complimentary dessert as an apology for the miscues before we ate but turned it down (still good of them to offer). Leaving was easy as the valet was very attentive and quick to get our car. We wish we could say our time at Juliet's was perfect because the setting and food are very nice and a fun change of pace from the surrounding blocks. However, it's difficult to overlook the mistakes made from the jump. We noticed that another table next to us was also experiencing bad service and looked unhappy enough to leave in the middle of their meal/ We're always open to having good food again so hopefully the next time we're here things are different. Just an unfortunate bittersweet taste to what otherwise would have been a fantastic meal.
