    Quinoa bowl

I was able to attend the soft opening at First Watch with my sister and it was wonderful. Everyone from the hostess's our waitress (Dakota) to other staff members walking around were so attentive, friendly and helpful. It was a very warm welcome. We started with the million dollar bacon which everyone needs to order because it was so delicious- the right amount of crisp and sweet and savory to kick off the meal. We ordered the egg sandwich and a quinoa bowl and honestly the bowl stole the show. You never know what you're going to get- flavor wise- with bowls so my expectations weren't too high but I was blown away. It had so much flavor and we had plenty to take home as well. The potatoes on the side for our sand which were top 5 I've ever had. The drinks were refreshing- my lavender one wasn't too sweet and the Bloody Mary was on point. So happy to have a new breakfast joint in Bastrop!!

We were lucky to snag reservations for the soft opening of First Watch in Bastrop, and everything was fantastic! The food was as fresh and delicious as always- I've loved every First Watch location I've visited. We started with the Million Dollar Bacon (bacon with brown sugar syrup and cayenne pepper- so good!), then shared the Elevated Egg Sandwich with potatoes to die for and the flavorful Power Breakfast Bowl. Drinks were on point too, with a Bloody Mary and Spiked Lavender Lemonade. Service was excellent, and this spot is such a great addition to Bastrop!

Came here after church with my husband for brunch. We arrived before 10am and there was already a 20-30 minute wait, but luckily there were two open seats at the bar that we snagged instead of waiting. I had two mimosas (a little pricey for $10 each) and my husband had two bloody Mary's (same price). Hoping they eventually offer pitchers of mimosas (like they do with sangria). He ordered the chickichanga and enjoyed it, I had the trifecta plate with upgraded lemon ricotta pancake and million dollar bacon, and it was yummy! Nice to see another breakfast spot in Bastrop!

Had a great brunch at the newly opened First Watch in Bastrop with my mom and sisters. There was a bit of a wait (totally expected for a new spot), but it was worth it. Our server, Nessa, was fantastic--super friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was really good. The strawberry French toast and Million Dollar Bacon were highlights, and the tomato basil soup was spot on. My sister called her egg sandwich "magical," which says a lot! I had the Classic Eggs Benedict and it was delicious. I also love how accommodating they are and next time I'll be getting my Eggs Benedict on their sourdough instead of the ciabatta. Great food, great service, and a great addition to Bastrop. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent food. I had eggs Benedict and potatoes. . I had a generous serving of French toast. Service was quick and efficient. Atmosphere was surprisingly quiet for such a large restaurant. We will be back.

Bright comfortable restaurant with outdoor patio seating. They do have alcoholic beverages, and mimosas.

Staff are good but the turn around for the order is too long. The food is already cold whe. They served it my mom is complaining that the multi grain pan cake is hard and cold. The multi million bacon is not crispy and cold too. The drinks is a lil expensive for the taste. But willing to give another chance since they are still pretty new.

First of all, it's very kid-friendly! Almost every family that walked in had small children. They have high chairs, crayons/coloring pages, and a kids menu. The kids menu deserves a kudos! Usually, I expect bare minimum but they really invested effort into the food. The grilled cheese came on big fluffy buttery pieces of bread and was something I'd expect to receive from the main menu. The chicken tenders were big and juicy and delicious too. Kids devoured their grilled cheeses (to be fair, they've never met a grilled cheese they didn't like but that's what makes the restaurant's above-and-beyond effort more admirable). I enjoyed my food as well. I got the chicken-friend steak. I rarely eat fried food -- this was worth it. Delicious. Also the show-stealer was the Brussels sprouts side! Fantastic. Perfectly browned and crisped (not overdone/too blackened like many places do). Mashed potato side was tasty too. Finally, the service was excellent. Super nice and attentive staff. Parking is very easy -- free lot next door.

Our server Dee had the personality and energy that would have us coming back as regulars if we were local. My Aggie hat drew the attention of what turned out to be the owner Justin. We spent a couple of hours here (on a Saturday) because we were just chillin' and not in a hurry. The covered patio was perfect of a hot July day! We had an appetizer and a couple of Iron Bridge beers first. Then we ordered the Caprese Sandwich and a large pizza that was half "Gettin' figgy wit it" and half "Riverside Veggie". OMG! It was amazing! We also had the whiskey flight, an Old Pro and a Gold Rush. We completely loved everything that we ordered. And again, Sianna was such a great server. Very attentive and friendly without being over the top. We definitely will come back and ask for her next time we visit Bastrop. Great job guys! I can easily see why y'all are voted the best pizza! There are restaurants you try once because they're trendy... and then there are places like Paw-Paw's -- the kind that become part of your family's story over time. From the fried deviled eggs, to the seafood platters, to the chicken tenders, to the genuinely wonderful staff, there just isn't a better spot for this kind of old-school comfort food experience. And the staff? Always SO friendly and welcoming. Every single time we come in, it feels less like "customer service" and more like old friends excited you finally stopped by so they can catch up with you awhile. That kind of warmth cannot be faked, and it makes such a difference. Now let's discuss these fried deviled eggs. Because respectfully... who allowed them to be this good? You think deviled eggs have reached their final form and then Paw-Paw's comes in like, "Hold my beer." Crispy, crunchy, creamy, flavorful perfection. We start most meals with them because not ordering them would simply be poor decision making at this point. I usually get the chicken tender basket and LISTEN -- these aren't sad little freezer tenders pretending to be a meal. These tenders are literally as big as my hand. Juicy, tender, flavorful, cooked perfectly every time. My adult kids are obsessed with the seafood platter: three pieces of fried catfish and three jumbo fried shrimp with fries, pinto beans, slaw, hushpuppies, and homemade tartar or cocktail sauce. And when I say the catfish tastes CLEAN, my fellow seafood people will understand exactly what I mean. No muddy taste, no weirdness -- just fresh, crispy, perfectly fried fish done right. And the portions? Paw-Paw did NOT come to play. Nobody is leaving hungry unless that was a personal choice. What I love most, though, is the feeling of the place. The small-town care. The heart that clearly goes into the food. The old-school comfort vibe that feels increasingly rare these days. Places like this matter. And Paw-Paw's is absolutely one of them.
