I loved the Power Breakfast Bowl. I would totally order that again. It exceeded all my expectations. I would never have thought to have quinoa for breakfast but now I'm a believer. The sausage was amazing, as were the Crimini mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes (where were reconstituted for a perfect texture). The kale was young and very fresh, and the eggs were cooked exalty how I like them. They really nailed this dish. My wife felt the pile of ham that came on the Classic Benedict was really salty and didn't think the Ciabatta was an apt replacement for an English muffin. But the egg was cooked perfectly and the side of country potatoes were spot on. My son had the Steak and Queso Hash and said it was great. And as hungry as he was, he took some of it home for later. For beverages, we tried the coffee and the Bloody Mary, and both were extremely good. The Bloody Mary is $9.25 but worth it. It's tasty; it's large; and it comes with a slice of their Million Dollar Bacon, which is intentionally not crispy but has a wonderful texture and sweet-n-spicy flavor coming from black pepper, cayenne, brown sugar and syrup. There's often a wait for a table and it took awhile for our server to arrive once we were seated but he provided top notch service, for sure! My wife especially loved the ambiance. It was bright and cheerful, and the large windows on the far side is the bar were open, which reminded us of Orange County. I don't know how they managed to pull that off on a humid, ninety degree afternoon but they did. We'll definitely return. Perhaps for a weekday breakfast when there isn't apt to be a wait. read more

Our new Bastrop breakfast place is bustling!! This crazy Heath bar coffee was a little too sweet (who am I kidding? It was a LOT too sweet), but the food is fresh and the service is delightful!! Extremely disappointing experience. We joined the waitlist and waited a long time, only to be dropped from the list as we were literally pulling into the parking lot. After speaking with staff, we were told to rejoin the waitlist and that the estimated wait would be only 10-15 minutes. After waiting another 40 minutes, we checked in again and were told we were still 8th in line, with no clear explanation of when we would be seated. At that point, we decided to leave without ever getting a table. To make matters worse, as we were driving away, we received a text message saying our table was ready. The waitlist system and communication were clearly not being managed accurately, which resulted in a frustrating waste of time. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning. read more

I was able to attend the soft opening at First Watch with my sister and it was wonderful. Everyone from the hostess's our waitress (Dakota) to other staff members walking around were so attentive, friendly and helpful. It was a very warm welcome. We started with the million dollar bacon which everyone needs to order because it was so delicious- the right amount of crisp and sweet and savory to kick off the meal. We ordered the egg sandwich and a quinoa bowl and honestly the bowl stole the show. You never know what you're going to get- flavor wise- with bowls so my expectations weren't too high but I was blown away. It had so much flavor and we had plenty to take home as well. The potatoes on the side for our sand which were top 5 I've ever had. The drinks were refreshing- my lavender one wasn't too sweet and the Bloody Mary was on point. We were lucky to snag reservations for the soft opening of First Watch in Bastrop, and everything was fantastic! The food was as fresh and delicious as always- I've loved every First Watch location I've visited. We started with the Million Dollar Bacon (bacon with brown sugar syrup and cayenne pepper- so good!), then shared the Elevated Egg Sandwich with potatoes to die for and the flavorful Power Breakfast Bowl. Drinks were on point too, with a Bloody Mary and Spiked Lavender Lemonade. Service was excellent, and this spot is such a great addition to Bastrop! read more

Came here after church with my husband for brunch. We arrived before 10am and there was already a 20-30 minute wait, but luckily there were two open seats at the bar that we snagged instead of waiting. I had two mimosas (a little pricey for $10 each) and my husband had two bloody Mary's (same price). Hoping they eventually offer pitchers of mimosas (like they do with sangria). He ordered the chickichanga and enjoyed it, I had the trifecta plate with upgraded lemon ricotta pancake and million dollar bacon, and it was yummy! Came for the first time with my family in town. We got pancakes and the CHICKICHANGA. We also got honey biscuits as an appetizer. I would skip the honey biscuits. They weren't anything special. The pancake was a little dry. But the CHICKICHANGA and the breakfast potatoes/home fries were amazing. First Watch recently opened in Bastrop and since we have not been there before, we thought we'd try it out. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and thought they were delicious. They had a great blend of sour and sweetness. My husband had biscuits and gravy with seasoned potatoes. The biscuits and gravy were great he wasn't a fan of the potatoes. But that's may just be personal preference. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and had great service. We will go back again and try other food options. read more

Had a great brunch at the newly opened First Watch in Bastrop with my mom and sisters. There was a bit of a wait (totally expected for a new spot), but it was worth it. Our server, Nessa, was fantastic--super friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was really good. The strawberry French toast and Million Dollar Bacon were highlights, and the tomato basil soup was spot on. My sister called her egg sandwich "magical," which says a lot! I had the Classic Eggs Benedict and it was delicious. I also love how accommodating they are and next time I'll be getting my Eggs Benedict on their sourdough instead of the ciabatta. This was my second time visiting this Bastrop location, and I'm really glad I gave it another chance. My first visit had a few hiccups--from check-in to the end of the meal--and I wasn't very impressed. But they had just opened and were ridiculously busy--like people out the door busy--so I gave them grace and decided to come back... and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, everything felt completely different. The service was smooth, welcoming, and well put together. My server, Joselyn, was the sweetest--so kind, attentive, and on top of every detail. You can tell she truly cares, and it made the whole experience even better. And then the food...1000/10 I don't say this lightly--this is one of the best salads I've ever had. I'm normally a carbs girl--I would've finished the bread first without thinking twice. But this time? The salad came first. The bread wasn't even a priority... and that says everything. The greens were fresh and crisp. The chicken breast was warm, perfectly seasoned, and actually juicy (not dry like most places). The toasted pecans and bacon gave it the perfect crunch, and the avocado slices were big--not just slivers--they are definitely not stingy with portions. The tomatoes were firm--not soggy--and everything just blended beautifully. And that warm honey Dijon drizzle? Ohhhh honey... chef's kiss. The perfect finishing touch that ties everything together. I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally i was able to get seated. The waiter had no personality. Straight faced with no welcome and no introduction. Before our food arrived i saw that same waiter with his hand down his shirt scratching his back and then handling food without washing his hands. Im not going any further with what I saw. Staff are good but the turn around for the order is too long. The food is already cold whe. They served it my mom is complaining that the multi grain pan cake is hard and cold. The multi million bacon is not crispy and cold too. The drinks is a lil expensive for the taste. But willing to give another chance since they are still pretty new. read more

This was my first visit to this new location. The waiting area smelled of cow manure. I'm not kidding. The staff could not figure out where the smell was coming from. My friend noted that there was a septic truck parked on the back of the parking lot. I had the berry salad. The salad was good, but the dressing was not sweet enough to match the berry taste. The waitress did not come back to the table so I finally had to get up and ask the front wait staff to bring me another type of dressing...which was again not appropriate to what was in the salad. My friend's eggs benedict was cold. The coffee was good. I know that this location is new, but the entire experience was very disappointing. I will bring my business elsewhere. read more

On top of that we had to wait from 9:30-11:30 to be seated except they didnt let us know... their app said we were first to be served for 3 whole hours. We had some kind of miscommunication with our wait time, told 90 minutes, then got a call that if we weren't available in 5 minutes they would give up our table...?? long wait for food. was lukewarm when served. Sausage, bacon, and ham were all way way overcooked and leathery tough, needed a serrated knife too saw thru it. poach eggs ordered medium, served as 2 raw yokes in warm water, sloshing in a bowl, no whites. multiple servers at our table, made fast passes, didn't stay long enough to understand what we wanted. Coffee pulled from table, plates picked up while still eating. waiting crowd blocking only door, hard to escape. We can't justify the wait or price for what it is. read more
