    Tomato salad
    Anastasia S.

Nice staff , salads choices , pasta choices, nice music , staying busy, many decorations on the walls, loud bc everyone is talking. Clean the floors few places , wall needs more paint . Order was ready for dine in and to go and the lady wasn't even there to take to take , was waiting over 7 min . Need more people to do the front window service trash underneath the soda fountain. Lady messed up my pasta order, I said no meat or cheese and she put cheese on it and didn't label it. So have to wait longer to fix it . Parking lot is open and clean enough. The plain bread is inside the to go container and touching the pasta after I said it needs to be in the side . I had tomato salad dressing on side and they didn't Lisen put the dressing on side , and then they messed up on the meatball sub they given different order and it looks like calzone, which looks different from the picture on the menu online after the lady said it's correct when I showed her. Because the picture online had bread with a meatball and a cheese on it and what they gave me doesn't look anything like it. The french fries are thick and some of them are white, and some of them are burnt thick cut no ketchup on the side the lady didn't even try to ask if I needed any. I had to ask for a Parmesan cheese on the side three times. Very disappointing customer service very disappointing kitchen staff. They did not listen. They don't try to fix things right away. what I tell her that was so rude because the lady was very rude and making smart comments about me being a Vegan and she started talking behind my back. she made loud comments to my face about my diet, and I didn't find that very appropriate at all because she's a lady who works there. they put too much sugar in spaghetti sauce and then after they remade it, they didn't put the bread back.

I was very surprised at how good it was. Meatballs were moist. They could have been hotter. Pasta with shrimp was very good. It hit the spot. Bread not so good. Felt Mike miami bread. Service was very attentive to me. Stand alone bldg is a good touch.

I was craving Italian for dinner. The perfect local spot for it! Everything was great and the service was impeccable. I had the Bucatini with meatballs and meat sauce. I will definitely come back

Solid Italian fare if you are in the Cedar Creek/Bastrop area. The food here is simple, well prepared and good. They have all the standards including pizzas, pastas and salads. You can also get burgers and fish and chips. Everything is homemade. The chicken parmigiana was an ample portion on a bed of spaghetti marinara. The breading was light and although it was slightly overcooked, the flavor was still pretty good. Chicken Provena came with rice and grilled veggies. The sauce was more or less an Italian style gravy. Not a big fan but others at the table enjoyed theirs so maybe it's just a matter of taste. Cheesecake was delicious. Perfect consistency and texture and the flavor was spot on. Service was friendly and prompt.

New menu is great, new interior and ambience; I have been coming here since they opened and happy to see them evolve.

Last week I was on a break from keto, and my husband read my mind. He took me here as the first stop on a rainy Friday night date. I know they have good sandwiches, but they also have their "bait shop" schtick. They're not near any significant fishing spots, and I didn't see any evidence of bait, but whatever. Their sandwiches are good, so they can get away with it. While I ate my sandwich on the patio, we discussed the novelty nature of many Austin businesses, and which ones can hold up and which ones are pure hype. I ordered the Club sandwich. It's not a true triple-decker club, but it was the sandwich that had the best variety of fillings in my opinion. Everything you'd expect in a classic club, but easier to eat because it wasn't stacked absurdly tall like other clubs. The sourdough bread was very crispy, and the meats, cheese, and vegetables worked well inside. On the side I got potato salad which I like more than their other option, which was chips, but the potato salad wasn't anything special. Their patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a rainstorm. They have some glider chairs off to the side that are good for lounging on, but when it really started to rain we moved in to the center of the patio. I'm glad I got a chance to try Handsome Dan's. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon because huge sandwiches like this need to be an occasional treat for me, but if you're in the Springdale area looking for a satisfying meal, this is it!

Since it was my last day in town and I was headed to the airport later, we didn't have enough time to arrange it. Instead, he suggested taking me to Boring Bodega, which is located literally across the street from the SpaceX Bastrop Facility, so at least I could snap a few photos from there. I was seriously confused at first because pulling up to Boring Bodega feels a little like stumbling into a pop-up oasis in the middle of rural Texas. This place looks more like the entrance to a country fair than a cafe. Off to the side, a row of food trucks greets you like an informal welcome committee, their colorful signs and picnic tables giving the place a casual, anything-goes vibe. Lol. Then you walk inside... and suddenly it makes sense. Boring Bodega is a unique "future fancy" grocery store and community hub located in the heart of Hyperloop Plaza. Owned by Elon Musk's Boring Company, the place blends like a full-service market with a modern, tech-forward aesthetic. Think Silicon Valley startup energy meets Texas roadside market. Walking aisle to aisle, you realize this place has a little bit of everything going on. One section feels like a boutique grocery market, stocked with high quality snacks, pantry staples, and grab and go foods. Another aisle carries drinks of every kind like sodas, energy drinks, sparkling waters plus a massive beer and wine selection. They even have shelves dedicated to pet food and pet supplies, which makes sense because people seem to hang out here for a while. Toward the back you'll find a his & hers barber shop, which caught me completely off guard in what I initially thought was just a convenience store. There are also spaces designed for community hangouts and games, and outside you'll spot pickleball courts, making it feel less like a store and more like a social hub for the surrounding tech campus. My friend also mentioned something pretty cool. Apparently, there's a tunnel employees can take from inside SpaceX that connects underground to Hyperloop Plaza, so employees there can pop over here without even going outside. Not sure if that's insider privilege or just peak Elon-universe infrastructure, but it definitely adds to the whole futuristic vibe of the place. And yes--they also do made to order sandwiches and light cafe items. Since it was my last day before heading to the airport, my friend and I grabbed a quick lunch here. I ordered the $10 Falafel Veggie Pita and my friend went with the $13 Carne Asada Protein Bowl. The portions were massive and the quality was fresh. Overall, Boring Bodega is one of those places that defies easy categorization. It's part grocery store, part cafe, part hangout, and part tech campus convenience hub all sitting across the street from SpaceX in Bastrop.

Three quarters of the building was dark. The building is already odd enough. It would make sense to convert a warehouse, but to build a new warehouse building in hopes of creating a store and hangout area is strange. My husband thought it was fine, so I guess that's what you get when a man (especially Elon Musk) attempts interior design. I like how they offer unique healthy snacks. However, this time I decided to try food from their hot food counter. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, which is one of my favorite foods. You could add meat to it for an upcharge, but I wanted to see how it was as a pure grilled cheese first. It was underwhelming, but only $6, so I'm not too salty about it. It is basically a panini with just cheese, and the bread to cheese ratio is off. Not enough cheese. However, with meat, as a traditional panini, it would probably be pretty good. I think the bread was sourdough. There was a short wait for the sandwich, which made it almost as convenient as any of the prepackaged snacks.
