I had the best experience at this double Dave's on Saturday evening. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and my main craving recently has been a chocolate chip pizza from double Dave's. I was very embarrassed to just go get a chocolate chip pizza but the gentlemen who was working there (I assume he was the manager) was so kind to me and made me feel less shameful for my purchase lol. On top of that he then made me the BEST chocolate chip pizza I have ever received. They are always delicious but this one was so so so perfect in every way. Stopped in for some eats on the way home from a day of baseball. Definitely a great choice! And let me say, their garlic knots are AMAZING! We ordered the daily special of them (came with a dozen), and ate every one of them before we left. Finger licking good, no doubt! We also ordered half of the Fave with no meat and half pepperoni. The pizza had excellent flavor, and was cooked perfectly. The owner (forgot his name) actually took our order and was extremely nice. He even gave us free drinks for us being first time customers. When we first moved to Buda, Double Dave's sent us a nice glossy mailer shortly thereafter with their menu, weekly specials, and some coupons on it; we immediately put it on our fridge for easy reference. We took a couple months to get around to actually placing an order, but we did so last night using their online ordering website. It was fairly intuitive to use, and we opted for the text message notifications so we'd know when our order was ready. We declined the $5 add-on for a gallon of lemonade/sweet tea, but it was pretty tempting. Conveniently located next to Walmart, we were able to get some shopping done while it was being cooked. It was ready reasonably quickly and the staff were friendly when we arrived. Their lobby is open for anyone who wants to eat there, but we took ours home. We got quite a variety, including a califlower crust pizza for my dad (who has to eat gluten free), a thin crust margarita, thin crust meat lovers, deep dish BBQ chicken, and their chocolate chip cookie dessert pizza. Everyone really enjoyed the taste. The deep dish was especially filling so we had lots of leftovers. The dessert pizza was interesting... reminded me of a flaky croissant but with chocolate chips and iced drizzle. Pretty good for just $5. My brother is allergic to soy and has trouble eating out much as a result; however, he ate the meat lovers/dessert and had no issues! Hooray! Thanks, Double Dave's for not adding needless soy (it's in practically everything, seriously). While we didn't take advantage of any of the weekday specific specials, I anticipate that next time we buy from here we will, because the prices offered are really good! read more

We were visiting the area this weekend and were ready for some pizza. We were staying walking distance to this place and the reviews looked okay, so we went. One thing I want to say is that I was a little worried when I saw something about pizza buffet - I'm not a fan of buffets in general, but always thought that pizza buffets were really the worst of the buffets. We decided we'd go and just leave if it was a buffet place. We were pleased to see that it wasn't and I am SO glad we went. The crust is SO good - you're talking to a girl that will avoid eating the crust of the pizza in a way to save some calories. It was worth it to not worry about them here!!! (we ordered a pepperoni pizza, in case you were curious) We discussed the Chocolate Chip pizza but that seemed like a lot of food and we were leaving the next morning so opted out - however, I am still curious and would have loved to have given it a try. The staff was friendly. There's not a lot of contact since you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The place was clean and plenty of seating. My only concern was there was no sound dampening in the place, there weren't a lot of people there when we ate so we were fortunate that it wasn't too loud. I cannot imagine how noisy it is on a Friday or Saturday night. Otherwise, it was really REALLY good and I'd eat this pizza again! Thank you for reading my review. read more

This was my first ordering from here. I had placed my order ahead of time for my pickup to be at 6pm. I headed to this location right after work and I got there 10 minutes early. I told the employee I was there for pick up and they told me it was going to be ready in 10 minutes. I was like this is perfect because it would be ready right at 6 like I planned. All the employees that were there that evening were extremely nice and helpful. One of the girls actually helped me to my car because I was struggling to carry everything out. That evening the restaurant was empty I was really surprised but I did notice there were alot of pick up orders. The restaurant was extremely clean and well kept. I ordered the large cheesesteak Stromboli, big Dave's pizza with pepperoni and sausage, small pizza with pepperoni, bacon and olives and a 2 liter Dr pepper. I loved how the pizza was still extremely hot when I got home. Everything tasted delicious and the Stromboli was definitely my new favorite. read more

Great pizza and even greater service! The owner Jamie took great care of me and my order that got delayed by a 3rd party order. She was kind and helpful. She had a delivery driver who was on his way to my neighborhood deliver my pizza. They got ZERO profit on my order due to it being 3rd party which i felt awful about. The driver was here in 5 minutes and didn't even want to accept my tip. He also had great customer service! I feel like when your employees are happy it's usually a reflection of leadership so she must be doing something right. I didn't realize she was the owner until I called back to ask who I could speak to in management to compliment her service and she mentioned she was the owner. Great pizza and wings. The only reason that they didn't get 5 stars is because it took them over an hour and a half to get the food delivered to my house that is only about a mile and a half away. The food was still hot though, which was great. Other then that, the food was great and I loved the big ranch dipping sauce that they give you with your wings. I will definitely be eating here again. This has been our go to place for pizza and wings for years. Food is delicious and I always go with a few quarters in hand to play a couple of games of pac man. Lately the wings have been getting smaller and smaller and today, one of the bone-in 'wings' we got was pretty much just a chunk of fat, no bone or meat. The staff did not seem to care and asked what we wanted them to do. I asked for another wing (really should have asked them to remake the 4 we hadn't yet eaten, they were tiny) and she just turned around without saying anything. We waited at our table for about 15 more minutes and never got our replacement wing (lol) and finally decided to leave. We'll probably start looking for a new wings and pizza place. read more

I am a writer who has lived in Buda for 17 years. My wife and I found Double Dave's place about two years ago... and it has brought us so much nostalgia of when we used to go to Pizza places during our younger years. Those days when we would go to the pizza restaurant and our parents to order a pitcher of coke and a large pizza and then to sit down and eat. And decades have passed, and so much has changed in life and pizza places have gone away. We love this place and have made it our nostalgic, romantic, poetic place where we go have our weekly pizza, pitcher of beer, and remember 40 years of being together... thank God there is still a place to sit and be with my best friend and have an awesome pizza and a pitcher of beer. It sucks bc this was our go to place, but I'm giving 2 stars bc it seems as of late there is always an issue. I'll touch on just a few and start by speaking about my order before the one today. Every single time that I call, I ask for my ranch separate from the pizza box bc the heat makes it disgusting. 9 time out of 10 it still comes hot in the box. This last time I didn't even get my ranch that I paid extra for and my pizza rolls were sent to me in a plastic shopping bag wrapped in foil and full of pizza grease. Are you serious? Today I asked again, please keep my ranch separate so it doesn't get hot. I asked for the extra ranch that they missed last time and they put it with the hot chicken wrapped in foil for my salad‍. Please explain to me how this makes sense. No one likes hot, thick and almost curdling ranch that explodes upon opening. My pizza AND pizza rolls were cold. I had to reheat everything. They were definitely sitting out for a good hour before being delivered. Something is typically missing. It's either ranch, Pepsi, or my salad. We typically order the same thing almost every single time. It may be a while before we come back. I think we'll just keep making the drive to Aviators. They've never messed up an order for us or forgotten anything and it's always hot and fresh. read more

Traveling home from a Sea World vacation & looking for a place for our family of 7 to eat, we called DDP to see if they had a pizza buffet. They don't offer a buffet any longer since Covid but my husband was wanting a Stromboli this vacation, so we thought it'd be worth a try. We were incredibly pleased with our decision to dine-in at this DD! We were greeted the moment we walked in the door. Having been traveling, we went straight to the restroom, which was very clean & user friendly, including a diaper changing station in the ladies room. We discussed the menu with the man behind the counter to get the best options for our family. We ordered the March special pizza, the Lieutenant Dave, the the Belly Buster family special with a large pizza, pizza rolls & a chocolate chip pizza. Everything came out fast, hot & delicious! Urney was our server and turns out he also is the owner! We will definitely be back to eat as a family on our travels to & from Sea World this year using our annual passes! Just new into town and my wife and I went looking for a good pizza and we found Double Daves Pizza. I called ahead and spoke to Earnie and he said come on down and you won't be disappointed. We'll he was certainly right. The pizza was delicious. Most places just sprinkle a few ingredients on your pizza but this pizza was covered very generously with all my wife wanted and more, the crust was soft and delicious, not doughy and hard to chew like other pizza places. What I liked was once we got down to the last pieces the crust was still soft and easy to chew. Most pizzas after a while the crust gets hard and you have to take it home and heat it up again to enjoy it. No sir, this is the place. The store hold 84 patrons and is clean as a whistle. The SaladBar is ever so Fresh and I loved the Ranch Dressing, flavorful and just the right consistency not to thick and not too watery.
