Pizza rolls, salad, and pizza of the month, Naughty Dave.
    Haley H.

The manager (I think), Ernie, is a really nice guy. This location has the best salad my family and I ever saw at a Double Dave's! So green and fresh. I wasn't gonna get one but once I saw it I ran back and ordered one lol. Pizza was really good too!!

    Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich-so good!

This was my first time trying a cheesesteak sub from this place, but it definitely won't be my last. This sandwich is so darn good! The baguette was soft in the middle with a light crunch on the outside and filled with melted white cheese, meat, which was well seasoned, grilled onions and mushrooms. Each bite was the perfect bite, and contained all the components of the sandwich. Already looking forward to my next sandwich from here!

We did a pickup order. It was good. Not great, but good. I found a outer onion skin in my pizza. Other than that, aight. The chocolate chip pizza was exceptional! The Buffalo chicken pizza I also recommend!

Big Dave's pizza with pepperoni and sausage

This was my first ordering from here. I had placed my order ahead of time for my pickup to be at 6pm. I headed to this location right after work and I got there 10 minutes early. I told the employee I was there for pick up and they told me it was going to be ready in 10 minutes. I was like this is perfect because it would be ready right at 6 like I planned. All the employees that were there that evening were extremely nice and helpful. One of the girls actually helped me to my car because I was struggling to carry everything out. That evening the restaurant was empty I was really surprised but I did notice there were alot of pick up orders. The restaurant was extremely clean and well kept. I ordered the large cheesesteak Stromboli, big Dave's pizza with pepperoni and sausage, small pizza with pepperoni, bacon and olives and a 2 liter Dr pepper. I loved how the pizza was still extremely hot when I got home. Everything tasted delicious and the Stromboli was definitely my new favorite.

Y'all. Shea at this location is the sweetest, most amazing worker ever! She took our convo to heart and personalized this box for my daughter, Shea. What a sweetheart!

What they are trying to pass for wings.

This has been our go to place for pizza and wings for years. Food is delicious and I always go with a few quarters in hand to play a couple of games of pac man. Lately the wings have been getting smaller and smaller and today, one of the bone-in 'wings' we got was pretty much just a chunk of fat, no bone or meat. The staff did not seem to care and asked what we wanted them to do. I asked for another wing (really should have asked them to remake the 4 we hadn't yet eaten, they were tiny) and she just turned around without saying anything. We waited at our table for about 15 more minutes and never got our replacement wing (lol) and finally decided to leave. We'll probably start looking for a new wings and pizza place.

Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer the questions we had about the menu. I ordered the Chicken Florentine Pasta, which came with a choice of soup or salad. They didn't have honey mustard dressing , so I decided to try the soup instead--and I'm really glad I did. It was absolutely delicious. It had so much flavor with just the right amount of heat, and honestly, it was one of the best surprises of the meal. And honestly, if it had been, the only thing I had had for my dinner, I would've been completely satisfied. The rest of the table ordered the Pesto Perfecto with Canadian bacon, chicken tenders and fries, and a kids' pepperoni pizza. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The Alfredo sauce on my pasta tasted homemade, and the pasta portion was generous. There wasn't a lot of chicken in the dish, but I've noticed that seems to be pretty common lately when eating out. Even so, the pasta itself was flavorful and very satisfying. The bread that came with my meal wasn't my favorite--it was dense and chewy. But I tried a bite of my son's pepperoni pizza and would absolutely come back just for that. The crust was light and crispy, and it had a generous amount of cheese and pepperoni. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was great, and we'll definitely be back.

The first red flag probably should have been the nearly empty parking lot, to the point where I honestly wondered if the restaurant was even open. We started with the cheesy garlic bread appetizer, and I was immediately disappointed. It looked more like something I would have gotten in a high school cafeteria lunch line than at an Italian restaurant. It barely had any garlic flavor, and it just wasn't what I expected. Then our entrees arrived. My shrimp scampi was completely lacking flavor, the shrimp were overcooked, and the pasta was sitting on a pool of water that made the whole dish feel off. My husband's carbonara was actually enjoyable, and that was really the only highlight of the meal. After the other dishes, I didn't even feel brave enough to try dessert. Also... can we talk about the TV playing a video on a loop of someone reviewing the restaurant and basically claiming it was the best Italian restaurant in the area? Someone definitely invested in that marketing, but unfortunately, based on our experience, it did not live up to the hype. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it missed the mark.

I enjoyed my time here. Don't forget to get some gelato on your way out. The service was spectacular and the waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu . Now, let's get into what I ate. Appetizers: Bread- I'm not sure what the proper name for the bread is, but it was so good. The bread was like a warm hug. It had a welcoming taste. I can't even explain it fully. The texture was phenomenal. It was like a cornbread and a roll put together. Artichoke fritters- This dish surprised me. I didn't expect to like it so much. It was fried to perfection and flavorful. I honestly didn't need the sauce . Meatballs- The meatballs were the best I've had in my life. They were covered in a well prepared sauce. Entrée: Snapper with pesto pasta- My snapper was very flavorful. The only downfall of the snapper was the size. For the price, I expected a whole snapper. The pasta was good, but I'm not a huge fan of pasta. I also ordered brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were cooked very well. Dessert: Biscoff and almond gelato - This was a perfect ending to to a wonderful meal. The gelato flavors change often. I will definitely go again!

For most pasta dishes, I'd hit Mandola's in Austin. Save about $10 an entree and some gas money. A few weeks ago I didn't want to venture too far off the ranch. Wife and I ended up at Lisina on Saturday. Calamari to start was crisp and not chewy. Caesar salad followed and was a nice example of the dish. Lisina is also a little skimpy on offering bread refills. We finished with drinks and the panna cotta. Just over $100 for this experience. WELL, the next day I needed to take mom out for her anniversary. Dad has long passed but I always try to do something special. Sunday highlights forthcoming. This time with mom and Rooster along we started with the carpaccio. The presentation really wowed because it looks like red plate until you realize all that color is shaved tenderloin. White plate underneath! The greens, parmesan, and aioli was one of the best I've had. Mom went for the gnocchi; Rooster goes for the Mezzaluna ravioli. This is now Rooster's fave restaurant. I went back to the appetizers section and selected the crab cake. Zero complaints on these dishes. Don't forget mom's wine. Gelato and cake to finish the meal. I think I've dined here once since my 2009 review. Yup, steak pics still accounted for on Yelp. Trattoria Lisina is still going strong in Driftwood. Expect $$$$, this meal was almost $300. Good food ain't cheap folks.

The sandwiches came with Garlic Fries. The Fries were delicious but unfortunately mine were lukewarm. I certainly could have asked for a fresh portion, but was hungry enough not to bother. That's the reason my rating wasn't 5 Star. Because the restaurant was pretty empty on this Saturday afternoon, I feel the Chef shouldn't have sent out fries that weren't piping hot.
