Loved the easy access and the text for pickup. Made it easy to enjoy the venue vs standing waiting around. The pizza was great soooo crispy on the outside and the sauce delicious. We were able to do a split pizza half The Bobo Brazil and the other half The Ambassador Bridge. Mine was the Ambassador and I thoroughly enjoyed. The deep dish pan pizza is so delicious. The sauce, cheese and toppings cover the whole pizza...all the way to the edges. The crispy crunchy crust is amazing. Some of the best pizza I've had. It's not your everyday pizza. The staff, from the hostess to our server were so polite, welcoming and friendly. They were on top of things. The server was prompt to take our orders. Brought us our drink order very quickly and never had to ask for a refill, they would refill when your beverage was half full. They brought our salads out promptly and our pizza was served in a timely manner. They remodeled the inside of the restaurant and it looks great. There's more seating space and feels more open and bigger. The restaurant was very clean, from the floors to the tables and even the restrooms. I really like the new tables and chairs they went with. The chairs are comfortable and the table tops are smooth. They look really nice. There were a lot of people in there...talking and laughing, but it wasn't too loud. You could set at your table and carry on a normal conversation without raising your voice or yelling. The acoustics were designed perfectly. It has a great atmosphere and is a very enjoyable place to enjoy a meal or set at the bar and just enjoy a great adult beverage. I/we will be frequent customers. 5 stars for the food (though I think the small is a little smaller than it used to be). Negative stars for the take out ordering experience. I started on their web site, quickly picked my pizzas and sides. Easy. Then I tried to pay. I had to log in. But I wasn't on my normal computer, so I had to ask for a password reset. Reset never came. Tried I to sign up with an alternate email. Turns out I'd used that in the past, too. We're now at about 8 minutes to order a pizza. Fine, I'll call and have a person take my order. Called and got an AI that asked for clarification on the second item I tried to add. Nope. Not dealing with an automated system that can't understand spoken items from their menu. Hung up and the AI started texting my, "apologizing" for the issues and asking (begging?) me to continue my order. Finally got an order in through a different email address. 12 minutes completely wasted with their online and AI ordering system. Two thoughts: First, online ordering should have a guest option or at least a "send a code to my phone" option. Second, phone calls should go to humans. Forms and automation belong on the web. Luckily we have a lot of other good options for pizza in Austin that don't make ordering so difficult. read more

Honestly the best Detroit style pizza I've had outside of Michigan. That alone says a lot. The fact that everything we ate was gluten free just made everything better. The only thing that I wish they had was the cheese bread available gluten free. Plus they understood what it meant to be gluten free. I didn't have to explain why I ordered the way that I did. The ambiance is laid back and comfortable. We were able to talk and enjoy our night. It didn't hurt that we could smell all of the wonderful pizzas and cheese breads that were being made in the kitchen. There service was laid back too. It wasn't great and it was terrible. The pizza takes some time to come out, and we understand that. We are not local to Austin and I will be dreaming of this pizza and planning other trips down. read more

This place falls into 3.5 star territory, but I had to go with 3 because I've had more meh experiences than good experiences. I'll start off by saying wait times can be quite long - you gotta expect to wait and possibly wait longer than they tell you (if you order online a lot, this would be one of those places that will very likely not be ready on time). I've had Via 313 various times over the years and my first batches had sauce that tasted straight out of a can. Some time passes and I try out Via 313 a couple of times and the sauce is alright, but the crust was burnt those couple of times - the crust is probably one of the most important features and it tasted burnt =/. Then, I got my favorite pizza custom ordered and it, thankfully, was made perfectly. The sauce was not only good, but it was amazing. The crust was pretty dang good, the cheese, which I ordered extra of, was delicious. If I could be guaranteed my pizzas be made like my pictured pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeno pizza then this place would be an easy 5/5. I appreciate and crave consistency - I want to recommend Via 313 to people but I worry that they'll get a bad batch. read more

This was an amazing pizza spot that we found in Austin. Multiple websites that rated this as as some of the best pizza that Austin has to offer and I was not disappointed. Although they have different locations this spot was a food truck next to Star bar on 6th Street. This location is good because it opens late I'm assuming because of all the drunchies. I was glad to know that they were able to split one order to two types of pizza. We ordered the ambassador bridge and also the Cadillac. Both were amazing in their own way. I was kind of disappointed that they did run out of their sausage, but we were able to replace that with ham. Although I do think the sausage would have been better I was thoroughly pleased with both types of pizza. The Cadillac was a little more sweet with the fig preserves and ambassador bridge was more savory. A good bonus is that it's next to Star bar where you can get a drink while you wait. The crust is crunchy and epic on all sides. Will get some more when I visit. read more

The ranch was my favorite. The garlic sauce was interesting, it tastes like a garlicky caesar dressing. It was pretty strong so I would only dip a small portion of the breadsticks in. I love that the duo includes cheese and pepperoni; it was great to have a mix of both. The bottoms and edges were nice and crunchy while the interior was soft and flavorful. I had a coupon for BOGO pizza so I decided to give the place a try. First of all, their phone system does not work at all even though they have been open for a while. When I got there, the cashier was slow, sluggish, and confused the entire time. I wanted my recipe printed out and so I pressed "print" on the payment terminal. Then I come to find out that their printer is down and so I ask if the cashier can go back and maybe email or text the recipe to me. He looked confused and couldn't figure out how even though I've seen other vendors use the same payment system and be able to go back and retrieve the receipt. Eventually he was able to print it out for me. I came and ordered 2 pizzas a little before 4:45 pm. The guy said to come back in 20-30 min. I came back a little after 5 and he said that he still hadn't even put my pizza in the oven and it would be 20 minutes even though he said it would be 20-30 min wait at 4:45! Ridiculous!!! The same thing happened to the people in front of me too so we all had our order really delayed. I was able to get my order by 5:15 but I felt bad for the some of the other people who were waiting and some of them had even come before me. I understand that there's only one person running the whole food truck but if it's like this on a daily basis then management should do something about it. The pizzas themselves were just ok. I got the Cadillac and the Ambassador Bridge. The crusts were quite hard. They were maybe a step up from grocery store pizza. Heads up for anyone who wants to sit down and eat rather than take out. This is the food truck location and NOT the actual pizzeria, and therefore has no seating. Star bar next door can be generous and allow you to sit down on their tables (and they indeed are very hospitable), but that's up to them, especially if you don't want to buy anything from them. Check Yelp for the other two Via 313 locations, one of which is under a mile away. In addition, all three locations close at 10pm, NOT midnight as stated on Yelp. It's really frustrating that all three locations have incorrect information on Yelp. This location in particular should differentiate itself as a food truck without seating on Yelp, as all three locations have the same title and you're SOL if you wanna sit down for a meal. It's especially annoying because I called two of the locations and neither location mentioned which one was the pizzeria and which one was the food truck. It took the food truck location over half an hour wait to make 3 pizzas, even when we were the only customers. Not terrible, but not especially fast. As for the actual pizza pies, they were quite tasty. The sauce was tangy and spicy, and the crusts were crispy but not burnt. Our family of 5 (all adults) was well fed by just 3 pizzas, with a few pieces left over. Quite a good value for dinner. If not for the Yelp page and wait time, I'd be giving this place a much higher rating. read more

Whenever I see Detroit pizza, I have to order it. Something about that crispy cheese caramelized on the side and absolutely no crust since the sauce/cheese/toppings goes edge-to-edge. Overall, I was quite pleased, but the dough didn't seem as deep/thick as other Detroit pizzas I've had, which also meant less cheese on the side. The Ambassador Bridge: Really enjoyed this one! Lots of glops of umami red sauce on top of melted mozzarella cheese. Then even more cheese, in the form of creamy ricotta mounds. A healthy dose of meat with the pepperoni slices and sausage balls. And, of course, the Detroit signature of caramelized cheese all along the sides. The Rocket: The calabrese kinda looked and tasted like pepperoni, perhaps with a little more kick. The shaved parmesan was just some light sprinkling over the red sauce mound, when I was expecting big flamboyant wood shavings sized parmesan. And the arugula came in a little plastic side salad container that you sprinkle on yourself at home. It was tasty, because it's Detroit pizza, but I'd probably opt for a different flavor next time. read more

EXCELLENT PIZZA! This may be the best pizza joint in Austin. We didn't realize the food is actually out of a food truck, which was fine with us, but it's parked inside the Star Bar. We visited on a busy Saturday and ordered the Carnivore Pizza. The guy at the window was friendly and upfront that it could be 25-30 minute wait; it was actually only a 15 minute wait. Great pizza, quick service in spite of the rush. A pizza truck in the compound of a bar. Deep dish style pizza, various options to cater both vegetarian and vegan. The base was soft and spongy and the pizza tasted fine without reheating after hours as well. It's an eclectic place with loud music. My toddler wanted a pizza when we were in the neighborhood. She enjoyed the music, danced in the rain while waiting for the pizza and the pizza itself afterwards in the car. The entry is on the side so you can skip the rush of the bar to order the pizza. You can sit there to eat or do a takeout. I would recommend them to everyone if you like deep dish style pizza. read more

If you like pizza, opulence and obesity then VIA 313 is for you. It's Detroit style pizza. This pizza is not like the others. In a crowd, It stands out the way Waldo doesn't. Historically, Detroit's only exports were misery and hopelessness. Via 313 has changed that by adding heart disease to the list. Italians came to America. Many landed in NYC. They made pizza. NY style pizza is thin and bendy. Everything your college girlfriend was and your everything your current girlfriend is not. NY pizza is slightly sad. The effort to make it is the same effort Italians put into winning wars. To eat it, you roll it up and go for the wet spot. It's not pretty and no one brags about. Moving west brings Chicago style pizza. Thick. Very wet. Hearty. Not the best thing for your health. Then you have Detroit style pizza. Pizza so good that its creators clearly had no desire to live a long and fruitful life. Like everyone and everything in Detroit, they've basically given up but their pizza keeps them hanging in there. If Canada made even a low ball offer for Michigan the US would sell it for pennies. Most pizzas come in a box, Detroit style is delivered on a flatbed truck with a forklift to unload it. Each slice contains a full year's worth of servings for meat and cheese. The closest thing to a vegan option is the napkin under your slice. All that said, Via 313 is simply the most amazingly delicious pizza ever made. Via 313 is the answer to the Question.
