My family and I decided to go get some pizza for dinner and stopped at Aviator Pizza. We parked and walked in. I noticed that they have seating inside and outside. We walked in looked at the menu on the counter and then placed our order and paid. We were given a number and then went to find seating. After sitting we waited for a while as they started making our pizzas. We ordered two orders of Mozzarella Facaccia Sticks to share. One order with cheese and one without cheese. They were both warm and soft. I preferred the sticks with cheese. One of my adult sons got a Classic Pepperoni Pizza and he enjoyed it. My other son got the Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pizza and he also enjoyed it. My husband ordered the BBQ Grilled Chicken Pizza. I tried it and it was tasty. The pieces of chicken were large and I liked the BBQ sauce flavor. It had a sweetness to it. I ordered a Ground Control Pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, red onion, green peppers, mushrooms, ham, black olives, and ground beef. I ordered my pizza without the ground beef. My pizza was tasty. It had different flavors and textures. The pepperoni, ham and sausage meats were good. The crust was doughy which I liked. It was a good pizza. Lastly we shared a Cinnamon Dessert. Which is a cinnamon bread with icing. It was delicious. The bread was warm and doughy and you could taste the cinnamon. The icing added that extra sweet element to it. It was so good. The perfect ending to our meal. Overall Aviator Pizza had a good selection of food. The counter service where you order was easy and fast for us. The delivery of the food to our table was pleasant and the pizza was good. read more

Cute family friendly drafthouse. We were delighted to find a big selection of beers on tap along with brewery name & details about the brew. The menu consists of more than just pizza, in fact many people near us had salads for their main course. We chose a gluten free crust pizza with meats (ham, pepperoni & sausage). The pizza toppings were tasty but, the crust was just ok (too thin to pick up and too tough to cut with our plastic knives. The soda selection is quite limited (Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, a pink lemonade and unknown sodas. The situation wasn't helped by the fact that the machine's ice dispenser was broken on a hot evening. We chose to sit outside to enjoy our meal at one of the super long picnic tables. Each probably sits 12+ patrons comfortably. Great area for kids to run around nearby so as you would assume, lots of young families. It seems to be a great meeting place for families & groups. The biggest downside to our dining experience was the outside trash can. Patrons cleaned up after themselves & the trash can was overflowing. I chose to go inside to throw our trash away and to inform staff of the trash situation. (No need having all that trash near your tables & front door) The staff informed me "we don't touch that. That's the City of Kyle's responsibility. They pick up on Saturday nights." Unfortunate that my visit was 6pm on a Saturday night. I can only imagine how messy the entire area will be by 9pm. I hope that the owners and management can figure out a way to handle this issue since the majority of the trash I saw inside & outside of the trash can was from their patrons. read more

Updating to downgrade my rating. I see why Aviator is often empty. Customer service hasn't gotten better, I consistently feel like I'm bothering someone when I go in there. Their pizzas seem smaller and now cost more. They're still decent, but it's getting harder to justify going. Their side salads are now $8 which is insane considering the size. A mile down the road is Tony C's who offers good prices and great service. A mile down from that is VIA 313 and let's just say it's VIA 313. A mile in another direction is Crust. You see what I'm getting at? There's a ton of options and Aviator seriously needs to up its game. read more

I thought the sheer selection and quality of beer on tap would push me to give them at least a 4, but I can't do it. The tables and soda area were clean. And everything seemed it order. However, for such a new building, the peeling decorations, specifically the giant plane decor with their logo pulling away from the walls, it was odd to see things looking off. Service was not bad, but they do not greet, didn't talk much at all really. When I asked about the specials, I was given minimal detail and follow up. They have good signage and descriptions posted, so obviously someone cares, just not those on shift when we went. The pizza was mid at best. The crust was tasteless and pale. The ingredients were standard. The focaccia was under cooked as well. To be honest, as much as it pains me to write this, Dominos would have been a better choice for the price and quality. The pizza is pretty good, not the best in town but I have always liked what I have gotten. Service is always good too. I dont love the atmosphere, but it's ok - the vibe is a wearhouse with metal chairs. It looks like a brewery but with out the charm or bar top. It's the type of place that when it's busy it is super loud because of the lack of sound proofing. The beer is very expensive, for the type of place it is. Seems like the most expensive place in town to buy a beer. Not sure why. They do have a good selection on tap but many are $7-$8.50. No domestic bottles or cans. Wine is $9.50 btw. I wish they had a pizza or beer special during the week- that would draw me in a little more, over the competition. read more

Despite popular opinion, aviator pizza, and Drafthouse is not good pizza. I feel sorry for locals and people who live in the surrounding area that this is the best pizza that you guys have had. The pineapple on the Hawaiian pizza was literally white, full of no flavor, bitterness and not very good. The pizza was bland and didn't taste like anything at all. You could take a bite of pizza and a bite of cardboard and they would taste the same. The Buffalo chicken pizza was OK not very good. It was more of a soup than a pizza. The contents slipped right off like they were a well cooked brisket, slipping off the bone or me slipping out of my skivies at the end of the night. They advertise as a pizza and Drafthouse or beer garden(who knows what a beer garden means because I didn't see one garden the whole time I was there) most draft houses have their own house beer but this place did not the beer they served was a little bit warm and flat. All they had was a house wine why would you advertise as a draft house if you serve wine as your house product they should call it a winery rather than a rather than a draft house All in all, I'm so sorry for the locals who have to call this good pizza. There's better pizza in the world. Please don't only think of this as good pizza. The ambience was not there. A pictures of Amelia Earhart really triggered me as we don't know what happened to her. Her plane has never been recovered, so it's a little bit scary, but the real kicker is that there was a huge buildup of dust or even mold on the walls, not really sure as I didn't get too close because I didn't bring my N 95 mask. Came here for the first time with my friends. We ordered a variety of beer. For beer, I got the Tucher, Secret Beach, Neon Shade, Little King Trash Mouth, Electric Lederhosen, and the Blackberry. I'm not a beer guy, more of a scotch or whiskey kind of guy so these beers didn't stand out to me. For food, I just ordered the cheesy bread which is similar to Little Caesars Italian Cheese Bread, but not as flavorful. Overall, food and beer are above average priced for the portions. I loved their huge delicious salad. It is large enough to be able to be shared. Pizza crust seemed a little soft for our liking and the marinara had a sweet flavor to it. Was pretty pricey in my opinion. Four gluten free pizzas totaled pretty close to $100 with tax. They were good and the four of us we almost finished them. We ordered on line for pickup, they do not deliver and do not want you to call in orders? Not too convenient if you have a question Our pizzas were ready when I arrived, about a 20 minute drive*. I probably would not eat here again just because of the price. I'm trying to eat healthier while supporting small/local business so when a friend and I were meeting for lunch in Kyle, I saw Aviator had salad so I suggested meeting there. Got there and ordered at the counter. They have Lunch specials M-F so I decided to order one of their specialty salads. I got the Greenbelt Salad (comes with portabella mushrooms, onions, feta cheese and pecans) with the suggested grilled chicken and lemon vinaigrette. That plus a drink was a $14ish lunch special. When it arrived I was pleasantly impressed with the amount of salad. This was definitely worth the money. I immediately grabbed a to go box and put half of it in there so I could mix it without spilling it all over. The chicken to salad ratio was great... had either chicken or mushroom in each bite. Was full and had enough salad for another full meal left over. My friend ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch Grinder w/ potato salad and was very happy with his order as well. The beer tap wall looked impressive and the pizza looked really good... but I came speak on either for this visit. Clean restaurant minimally decorated with flight photos and props. Our new go-to place for pizza! My only regret is we didn't know about them sooner!! I "accidentally" saw them on my way to my doctor's office, and I am SO glad I did! This is the large Major Tom, with extra sauce. That's just a personal preference for us, we don't like it dry, would rather have more sauce than not enough. After checking out the menu, we each decided to order a 9" pizza...she had The Greek (pesto, olives, feta, basil and artichokes - she left out the mushrooms) and I tried their Ground Control (pepperoni, sausage, ham, ground beef, red onions, bell peppers, black olives and mushrooms). Our pizzas were good. My wife liked the basil and olive combo with a muted pesto flavor. She liked the texture of the crust but thought it lacked flavor. My pizza was good, but I'll always prefer the charring and smokiness from a wood-fired oven. All in all, not bad. We also liked the Stubborn brand drinks they have available and of course the seemingly voluminous list of alcoholic beverages they have available.
