On 01/25 around 5/6 pm I walked into the hotel to check in. I am a Hilton team member and I booked a room at this property for the night because family was having surgery the next morning and I wanted to be close to home. I wen to check in and the manager (short Hispanic male) on duty started to check me in and told me the deposit for the room is an addition $150.00. Mind you I charge deposits all day at the property I work at. I let him know I'm a team member and not even the standard guests get charged that much. He said at the property that is their standard deposit. I find that hard to believe considering I stayed at the hotel a week ago and the deposit was $50.00. He had no response. I canceled the reservation. Because I am blk he thought I would be ok with paying a over the top deposit for a standard double queen room. Not only will I be leaving this review but I will be reaching out to cooperate to file a complaint. This is bad business and I can only imagine how may people he is over charging because he doesn't like the way they look. I went to another Hilton with excellent customer service and standard rates. I had no issues there. Whoever the owners are should be ashamed they have people working for them like this. The entire front desk staff is rude and disrespectful...bad for business. read more

Before booking the hotel I knew the places on my agenda, such as: Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Hollywood were going to be 30-40 minutes away. Double tree Carson is a good in between spot if you dont want to pay obsurd hotel rates. **Location: 5 minutes to InNOut. There is a grocery store and Ihop just down the street. **Parking: Free parking!!!!! Huuge plus. **Breakfast buffet: No bueno. For nearly 17 bucks per person, youd be more satisfied at Ihop. Even other things on the menu just arent worth ordering. Sorry. **The Bar: Don't order specialty drinks like bloody marys; you will be disappointed. **Customer Service: The customer service was average. Everyone was friendly but I was slightly disappointed when I did not recieve a birthday amenity. :( i guess the delightful cookie I received upon check-in was it. **Pool: pool area is nice spot to get your bake on. Cant have alcoholic beverages by the pool (#1 rules are meant to be broken) Pool closes at 10pm ( refer to #1) If its just a place to sleep then make that reservation but if you're trying to relax and do activities close to your hotel, then book somewhere else. Okay, based on my 3 night stay recently, I actually give this hotel a 3.5 stars. While not the best, it was comfortable and clean. And really, that's all that matters to me. Friendly check in desk and staff. Friendly housekeeping. Bomb ass cookie. Oh, and FYI, you can get the free cookie anytime. You just have to ask. It's not just at check in time. Trust me, I was trying to get them yummy ass cookies whenever I could. Maybe I should make a correction on the "comfortable" part. While some may enjoy their pillows, I certainly didn't. And neither did my roomie. The pillows just sunk in once you layed your head down and that was it. No support. Nada. Personally, I don't care for that. That would be my major complaint. I will say that their maintenance crew is fast and friendly. The shower head in our bathroom was loose. However, after calling down to the front desk, they sent a maintenance guy up to our room after a few minutes. And not even a few minutes later, our shower head was perfect. Easily off the 405, next to a jack in the box and across from a filipino restaurant. You get a complimentary cookie during check in and it's pretty bomb. The hotel shares its parking lot with the civic center therefore plenty of spaces to park. Oh, did I mention about thier free cookie, it's the ish. Rooms were average but really enjoyed the sports bar down below. Every night had something going on, whether it was a game on the bigscreen or folks singing karaoke. Or just lounge outside by the firepits or outdoor heaters, with your warm, free of charge cookie to munch on. Definately a hotel for the business traveler cause you're sure to meet many people from different trades. I'm sure they'll mention something about the complimentary cookie. Fourth star for u guessed it, their complimentary chocolate chip cookies! I don't know how they do it but they always seem to be fresh out of the oven with a hint of crack. Staying here on the Hilton Honors floor and I am so happy with the facility. Easy to connect WIFI, nice clean rooms, very comfy beds and pillows, good channel selection on the tv, nice tub (bigger than average). Cookies are amazing of course! The reason why I give five stars is the staff. I'm recovering from a knee surgery and when I went down to their breakfast buffet with my four year old son they were so helpful and without me even asking. I'm on crutches so basic things are rather difficult but they helped me make plates, served me and my son and did it all with a genuine smile and positive attitude! read more

I am very thankful for the management of our wedding and reception at Doubletree by Hilton Carson. From start to finish it ran smoothly in the grand and glorious setting of your halls. All the arrangements functioned faultlessly and we found the staff courteous, welcoming and responsive. We had the most wonderful day on Saturday, October 20th.  All our guests without exception were full of compliments about the Champagne Ballroom and the menu that was provided for us.  The serving team was all very professional, and the meal was produced wonderfully.  Charlene Tritipeskul, the catering & convention services manager, was an exceptional help during the buildup to the day and on the day itself. Charlene made sure all of our needs were met and every detail was in place. She possesses great skill and professionalism, and her organization skills and calming presence were very much appreciated to keep our anxieties at bay. She was invaluable on the wedding day as well, she worked with all of the vendors, the set up was gorgeous, and she ensured everyone was having fun, eating and enjoying the day to the fullest. If I wrote this review after my first night in the hotel, it probably would have been a four star review instead of three. The hotel scores high in my book because it is close to the main arteries of the Carson area. There is a large selection of food and entertainment in close proximity. The hotel also has a restaurant and sort of general store on premises, so there are plenty of options for a bite to eat. The hotel also offers digital check-in and digital key, which are great features for those looking to skip the front desk. The top two floors are reserved for Hilton Honors guests but the HH is free to anyone so I don't know if that's really a big plus. The hotel also offers free in room wi-fi, so no need to pay...or so it would seem. The wi-fi, or lack thereof, was one of my major issues with the hotel. I signed in using my Hilton Honors account on the first day and had no issues, but to be fair I was pretty tired and it didn't use it outside of checking a few emails. As my stay went on, the wi-fi got worse. I frequently could not access websites, the wi-fi would drop all together and by the last night even updating Facebook, let alone watching Netflix, was completely out of the question. My other issues with the hotel were the beds and the thermostat. The bed seemed great my first night because I passed right out due to jetlag. The issue came when I went to stand up at lunch the next day and felt shooting pain through my back. My back pain worsened every day and by the end of the trip, Aleve was a part of my daily routine. The room was very cold as well. No matter how I adjusted the thermostat on the wall, the in room A/C unit stayed on consistently and never shut off. read more

I stayed here 2 days in September for a near by family function. I did not want to drive back and fourth so i thought this was going to be a good idea. Parking and checking in was quick and easy. The lady at the desk was very nice, as were the rest of the staff that i encountered those 2 days. The room was kind of outdated for a Doubletree, i was surprised. The carpet was a little old and throughout our room i could see dirt, dust and things that did need to be patched up. But that wasn't the deal breaker. Day one was fine, nothing happened until we woke up Sunday morning and my partner and i woke up with bed bug bites on our ankles and he even got bit on his toe! The mystery blood stains that were on our sheets came from bed bugs, we did not have any cuts or blood on us that would explain it. That is Bed bug Infestation 101! Along with the bites, it just made sense that it was that. They did try to make it right and gave us one night free but to be honest, i shouldn't have paid anything. That is so gross, eww bed bugs! And if you've ever had a beg bug bite it is the itchiest bite ever! It is horrible. Oh and i also we went in the hot tub but couldn't even relax for more than ten minutes because they had so much chlorine or spa cleaner chemicals in their that our eyes were burning (no, our heads were not submerged). I would not return here. I am spooked! read more

My family is staying here now because the house was having some problems. We are staying in a mini suite room. Everyone has been very helpful and the cleaning ladies are especially nice. The hotel restaurant is simply fair, although the cookies are incredible. For a long term stay, the hotel has been very accommodating. Also, they allowed our pets (one cat and one rabbit) into the room. Bonus points for the cleaning ladies for dealing with them. read more

Terrible place to stay!!! Will never contribute to this place again! We checked in with 4 people and had invited some guests to come swim and the "EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH" told the manager which came to speak to us and told us Only 4 people can swim....ridiculous! And that customers have complained about lots of kids swimming when the kids hadn't even got in the pool yet, it would of been only 5 kids in the pool but since it wasn't 4 they had to leave or pay for another room, there were no other guests out at the pool or even swimming. Totally not kid friendly at all. Would not recommend to anyone with a family or at all!!! I have stayed in hotels all over the world. I stayed in this hotel two nights attending my daughter's wedding. 8/14 to 8/16/20. If I could I would give this hotel 0 stars, here is why... noise... seems live someone was allowed to bring a wall shaking stereo system that they refused to turn down in the middle of the night. After multiple complaints, the solution from the hotel was to change rooms to a different floor. Instead of having them turn the music down or off you ask guest that have been in place and settled to move. Bye bye doubletree. read more

I stayed here over a course of two nights. The hotel is in a great and safe area. I wish they had thicker walls and better air conditioning. I was able to hear everything from the person next door. I paid a pretty penny for the hotel stay which didn't even include breakfast. The buffet was an extra $17. Even so, it was a decent stay for just a short visit. read more

Well, after being sent halfway across town by American Airlines, I ended up here. After 4 hours of sleep (3.5 hours to get rebooked for a missed flight-Thank you American), I had a wakeup call to early and head 3 minutes to get downstairs for a shuttle back to the airport. Left my glasses in the room. Doubletree was completely unhelpful. No housekeeping to check, I would have to pay for the return, shuffled to two different people on the phone. My wife and I stayed here due to it's central location with our plans for the weekend. The hotel is convenient to get on the freeway and close to Long Beach. The rooms are decent but are a bit dated. The bed was quite comfortable but we had to keep fighting with the AC as it would be either too cold or too hot. The room service good quality and pretty fast. If you really know me, you must know one of my true loves is the cookie. One day I was around the Double Tree Carson and I thought to myself.. "hmm.. can I buy some cookies here?" I always hear about how good they are so I went inside and started looking. I went inside looking like a crazy person trying to find where can I buy cookies. The bellhop guy asked me if I needed some help, lol. I asked where I can buy cookies.. and he just went and got me 2 cookies. OMG! How nice of you, bellhop!!! I never stayed here in this hotel. This place is an average Doubletree, so you get that cookie they always pride themselves on at checkin, and the rooms and public areas are decent enough, but the staff can be a challenge...they seem a bit undertrained...the night I was there recently they had room upgrades but told me I had a choice (as Diamond Honors mind you) of free brekafast, free wifi, or free upgrade. Now the usual is you always get an upgrade if its available, and brekfast is always included too..Ive never heard of Doubletree getting cheap like this, seems they're nickle and diming their best customers...also staff seemed to be milling about a lot aimlessly, especially in the restaurant, when they could be getting my grub....not to mention the laughing and cussing from front desk staff at night that I walked by....next time I'll go for a Marriot, where they treat their repeats much better. read more

So, I had to stay here for 6 weeks when I was in So Cal for work. This hotel is alright. There's not really anything bad to say about it but nothing great to say about it either. One complaint is the neighborhood. It was a bit sketch at times and there wasn't too much around. My room was always clean but the furniture seemed to have seen better days. I would stay here for 2 weeks and then fly home for the weekend and repeat this for 6 weeks. So, I stayed in 3 different rooms and one of them had newer looking furniture while the other 2 had scuffs all over the furniture in them. The bed was comfy and so no complaints there. The remotes in all 3 of the rooms I stayed in were very temperamental. Sometimes they would work easily and sometimes you would basically have to hit them to get them to change the channel. I was disappoint in the TV in the rooms. They were all old 27" TV's. Lately, it seems like the other hotels I've been staying in had LCD or plasma TV's. The Doubletree in Carson definitely needs an update. Since there was no fridge, microwave, etc in the room, I ate at the restaurants downstairs a lot. I did enjoy the Scoreboard Lounge there. The waiters and waitresses were all extremely friendly and I became some what of a regular. The drinks were pretty strong and the food was better than most bar food. They always had some sort of sports on to watch which was a plus when being there by yourself. The other restaurant, Bamboo Grille, wasn't too bad but I only ate lunch there and would only get the salad/pasta bar. It was a typical bar but the dressings weren't the best...think Kraft's dressing. Can't say anything about their dinner. A plus was that they had a little Starbucks coffee counter in the lobby. I don't really drink Starbucks too much but it was convenient to have right there. They also had a little convenient store in the lobby where I would get my Red Bulls and snacks. The guy running it was way cool and very polite. My biggest complaint though was the workout facility. It was pretty crap. The workout room was a gutted hotel room. There were 5 pieces of cardio (2 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines and one bike) and nothing more. It doesn't sound too bad, but the machines were old and pint size. I would do the elliptical machine but couldn't seem to do more than 20 mins because my knees would start to hurt from the crappy machines. Normally I could care less about a hotel workout facility but since I stayed here for 6 weeks, I had to exercise. Needless to say, I pretty much stopped working out because it seemed to do more damage than good. I would definitely recommend this place for a few days, but not more than 3 or 4. Free parking! A term long lost to all but the most remote reaches of Greater Los Angeles. There's little to hate about this Hilton incarnation and that's saying a lot considering my hatred of the Seatac Doubletree. Warm cookies are a cute gimmick, but I, having no sweet tooth, require a little more convincing. Seriously, despite the heavy influx of tour groups that I've found flooding the lobby every time I've visited, the staff are quite friendly and the line for the elevator subsides quickly. Rooms are the consistent standard for Hilton with comfy beds and modern decor. Just wish hotels could figure out an air conditioning system that had more than the two settings: Sweat or Freeze but that's a universal wish. Their on-site restaurant is expensive as other in-hotel menus, but the food quality is quite good including the $17 breakfast buffet that you get for free twice if you're a Diamond member. Other notable mentions: the rooms have a mini frig to store leftovers, there's a 24 hour pantry in the lobby near the front desk that even sells wine. Really good Margherita pizza at The Refinery for $13. read more

Very disappointing. 5 of our board members flew in on different flights and arrived at different times to the hotel to check in. We had booked non-smoking rooms for them. 3 of the board members were given smoking rooms, and when they spoke with the front desk clerk they were told that since we booked through a 3rd party (hotels.com) our room choices would NOT be guaranteed and we would get the 'crappy' rooms. 2 of the board members ended up walking out and heading to another hotel. I called the hotel manager, Greg, the next day and left 2 voice messages. Finally when I spoke with him the following morning he said he would have resolution by days end. I have not heard from him since. We have the board members out here 4x/year along with other people traveling to our headquarters and we will no longer be booking reservations here. read more

I had to find a room in the Long Beach area. Picked this one after looking at lots of choices on line.. We were pleasantly surprised with the Carson Doubletree. Nice clean room, available parking, and conveniently located for us. The little bar/lounge was nice, but nothing to write home (or Yelp) about. We wish that our room had a mini fridge though. Hotel very nice and the staff is friendly. The down side.....this hotel is located on the 405 freeway. Very noisy. It is nestled in the shadow of Compton or "the hood". So to venture off campus would be taking your life in your own hands. Fortunately I was armed so I felt somewhat safe having a drink on the patio. It is about 12 miles from LAX. I went here for a beautiful event. We were in the Champagne room. It fit the 60 of us comfortably with a nice sized dance floor. The food was amazing! The waitstaff were very attentive. We had pitchers of ice tea and water throughout the event. They were quick to refill sugars, butter,bread, salad dressing. They definitely brought their A game and they were very hospitable and happy. I was very impressed. I had the salmon with veggies and rice pilaf in a lemon cream sauce..It was sooooo good and moist and flavorful. I mean...again I was impressed with the quality and huge portions. It filled me up. They presented us with creamy cheesecake with fresh strawberry and chocolate sauce with strawberry sauce. That was yummy. I finished my meal with a nice cup of coffee. Now, I have been to swanky hotels for events and the food is never worth the price per plate but this Doubletree in the quaint, little city of Carson should be teaching all hotels how to provide amazing food and excellent customer service. I will definitely hold an event here. On a side note, it looked as if they had handicapped accessible pools and jacuzzis. Right on, Doubletree! Right on! read more

It was close enough to the stub hub center and shopping along with restaurants nearby. The room was nice and clean and quiet.
