The Gold Standard of Hospitality! I can't say enough about the incredible service my family and I received from Jessica and James at the Doubletree by Hilton in Williamsburg. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make sure our seven-year anniversary weekend was enjoyable, memorable, and truly comfortable. Both Jessica and James personalized our experience in such thoughtful ways, turning what could have been just another hotel stay into something truly special. They were attentive, professional, and genuinely caring--qualities that are rare to find at this level. They should absolutely be considered the gold standard of how guests are treated and how customer service should be. Because of their outstanding care and attention, our celebration was unforgettable. Hilton is lucky to have them on the team, and I'll definitely be back thanks to the amazing experience they created for us!

BED BUG! HORRIBLE ROOM AND SERVICE! STAFF WERE POORLY TRAINED. 09/28/24 Our trip to Busch Gardens was awesome until we checked in at DoubleTree. We arrived at the property late at night after enjoying our time at Busch Gardens. The first sight of the room was the AC cover completely off on the floor. We should have taken that as a sign and requested a different room, but we were too tired at the time and just wanted to shower and go to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating, as the AC barely blew any air, but I was too tired to deal with it. 09/29/24 My husband woke up with an itchy back, which he initially thought was from mosquitoes. After he took a shower and came back, he saw a bed bug crawling on the sheet where he had been lying. He used a napkin to wrap it and brought it to the front desk. The front desk manager took the bug and offered to remove the charge for the room. This happened around 7:00 AM, and the manager let my husband go back to the infested room without providing any solution. My husband returned and alerted my friends and me. We all jumped out of bed. My friends, who slept in the other bed, took off their bed sheets to check, as their bag was lying right next to the bed. We found another bed bug on the bed skirt, which was disgusting. We called the front desk and informed the manager of the situation, and she replied, "I will come get the bed bug." Again, no solutions were offered. When she arrived at the room, we expressed our concerns about being unable to continue staying there and how our belongings could be contaminated with bed bugs, as we had set them on the floor. She then asked what we wanted her to do, which was very disappointing for a hotel like DoubleTree. We told her we needed another room, as we didn't feel comfortable staying there anymore, and we wanted our clothes to be disinfected. After some back and forth with someone higher up, she finally offered us a different room and agreed to heat-dry our clothes. We waited about 30 minutes for the new room to be ready and sorted our clothes into two separate bags: one for my husband and me, and the other for our friends. After the heat dry, our clothes were returned mixed together, so we had to spend time sorting them out and folding them into our luggages. Meanwhile, my little cousins were staying in a different room. I asked the manager if she could heat-dry my cousins' clothes, as I was worried about the bed bugs and the possibility of them bringing them back home. The manager initially told me to go back to their room and check for bed bugs, which was very frustrating. We didn't come here to be their bed bug inspectors. I then requested if she could send someone to check for it, and she eventually did. They didn't find anything, which gave me a little peace of mind. While talking to the front desk, it was stated that bed bugs "occasionally" happened here before. I would expect the staff to be trained on the proper protocol to handle a situation like this. The manager kept asking us what we wanted to do, and I wondered why the staff couldn't be more proactive if this happens occasionally. Our luggage and bags were not disinfected at all. When I got home, I realized I had several bites. 09/30/24 I woke up this morning with more bites on me. Now we're afraid we could have brought the bed bugs home and contaminated our house. We checked in at ROOM 103 on 09/28 and left on 09/29. On 09/30, one of the managers reached out to collect information on the situation and said he would get back to me, but I haven't had any updates yet.

Light switch coming out of the wall and bathroom fan not functioning...

Could've cleaned the room. It was dusty.. something reddish brown color on the baseboard looked like blood... scrapped paint on the bathroom door jam.. bathroom fan doesn't work so if you poop everyone has to smell it! So, romantic for Valentine's Day weekend! Had a sliding glass door but no balcony and our view was of the water processing plant! Had to walk quarter mile back to the front desk to use the microwave in the common area by the executive office just to heat my heating pads up for my shoulder. After being told there was one by our room.. NOPE. Holes in the ceiling... not what I have become to expect from double tree and or the Hilton name... food from the bar was good and so were the bartenders.. after getting the room for 4days & 3 nights we were charged 12.00 a day to park in an no gate unsecured NO patrolling officer parking lot. When we asked why we had to pay for parking if we're renting a room we were told so we can use the parking lot... so what do we do with a car if we don't wanna pay and if we're already renting a room.. I will say they did give us some extra double tree cookies and 25.00 gift cert for the bar which equivalent of one meal and a soda. And two free grab and go meals in the morning... Warning there is NO free breakfast at least during off season.. and if they charge for owning a car.... Probably during high rotation season they may offer more

We attended a conference here for 2 days. It's pretty spacious and becoming more modern while undergoing renovations. The lobby consists of several workstations/ small couches with electrical ports for devices - I really liked this! The bar offered tasty drinks, apps + handheld foods. The burger was great! There are several arcade games for people of all ages. An indoor and outdoor pool and a nice fitness center.

This building is old, dirty, and disgusting. Asked for a microwave... crumbs in it. Bathroom had hair in it. Someone left their towel in the closet. The room is outdated. The hinge was broken on the dresser. The room had horrible lighting. Wifi doesn't work well. It was the nastiest experience ever! And I made a new friend that was crawling around on my bed! Room 248! Beware!

They said "we thought you already checked out." I had not and felt extremely intruded upon. I gave it a second try last weekend - never again. This time there wasn't much the staff could have done. The hallways and main corridors were super warm. The room was renovated and was clean - mostly, however, the walls were super thin. One one side a family was blasting the movie Hamilton halfway into the night while on the other side a toddler was screaming for hours. The child did not sleep until after 1AM... so neither did we. I don't blame the other guests, however, structurally I would not stay here. The doors were also thin so I knew who was running down the hall and talking at all hours. I was lucky - our room, 403, was near the end of the hallway. I can't imagine what it would have been like in front of the elevator. At breakfast the person helping us kept standing there staring at us. Each time I went back up to the buffet, I felt their eyes on me. It was quite uncomfortable. Finally, worst of all, I did not feel safe in my room. The hitch that holds the door closed was loose and I didn't trust it to keep us safe. I reported all of these concerns at checkout. I was not even thanked for letting them know, muchless had anyone apologize for the experience. This one is a nope for me.

First of all, there was an instruction card that came with the reservation however while it did indicate that there is a backdoor, it did not inform that this was the 'main' entrance. There is very limited parking and if you want to park across at the church on or the street, you are at risk of towing. They have no passes for parking in these locations. The beds are their own issue. If you are vertically challenged, you will have great difficulty getting into the main beds. We stayed in a 'suite' (I use this term laughingly as it was just two connecting rooms) that had another room with twin beds. While the main bed seemed to have a mattress from the last century, the twin beds were ancient. The "pillows" that they give you are quite literally flatter than a pancake they would serve you for breakfast. The suite we stayed in was in the front of the house and there is no insulation to cancel ANY of the traffic noises from outside. It was very very stuffy inside and I wasn't able to open a window. We asked for a step stool and were given one that wasn't even as high as a normal step on a staircase. It was still very difficult to get in to the bed. At no time while I was there did I see, hear or meet the host/hostess of the B&B. The only time we met any employee was in the morning during breakfast. These ladies were AMAZING. They almost made up for the lack of any other service or greeting in their friendliness. The breakfast was late the day I was there. There are signs everywhere stating that it would be served at 8:30 but it was closer to 9:30. I'm an early riser so this was a bit of an inconvenience. At least the coffee was available. They had eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal etc. It was set up as a buffet style in a very stylish area of the serving area. The dining room table is gorgeous but there are no placemats to put your plates on, I felt very worried about scratching this gorgeous table. The non guest rooms were fit with comfy areas to just relax and chill after a day of being a tourist. The furniture may not have been the most comfortable, but given how cozy each area was this was easily forgiven. I really enjoyed that each room had a Christmas tree already set up. This is not very handicapped friendly as no matter which way you enter, there are very old steps. The front steps were especially bad.
