The hotel was fairly decent with a clean room though there were signs of wear and tear on the carpet and some of the fixtures. We were disappointed that the breakfasts are no longer complimentary. Parking is good and ample. The front desk and restaurant crew were very helpful and greeted us every time. Shout out to Nancy who went the extra mile to ensure we had what we needed. The hairdryer was broken in our room and another clerk (sorry I do not recall her name) quickly went and brought us another one. The mattress seemed a little firm and was not as comfortable as other Hilton facilities, but maybe it's a sign I am getting older. We appreciated our stay but have experienced better at other Hilton facilities. This does not mean that the staff are not attentive, just a different experience for us this round. Swimming area was nice though a bit warm. Water temp was nice. Hot tub was not working very well, but they were aware and were trying to address it. I stayed here 4 years ago and had a horrible horrible experience with staff members in my room - one wasn't even wearing anything identifying them - about a half hour before check out - when we were trying to get everything into our car (we came back up to the room and they were in there - it was unclear why because they weren't cleaning). They said "we thought you already checked out." I had not and felt extremely intruded upon. I gave it a second try last weekend - never again. This time there wasn't much the staff could have done. The hallways and main corridors were super warm. The room was renovated and was clean - mostly, however, the walls were super thin. One one side a family was blasting the movie Hamilton halfway into the night while on the other side a toddler was screaming for hours. The child did not sleep until after 1AM... so neither did we. I don't blame the other guests, however, structurally I would not stay here. The doors were also thin so I knew who was running down the hall and talking at all hours. I was lucky - our room, 403, was near the end of the hallway. I can't imagine what it would have been like in front of the elevator. At breakfast the person helping us kept standing there staring at us. Each time I went back up to the buffet, I felt their eyes on me. It was quite uncomfortable. Finally, worst of all, I did not feel safe in my room. The hitch that holds the door closed was loose and I didn't trust it to keep us safe. I reported all of these concerns at checkout. I was not even thanked for letting them know, muchless had anyone apologize for the experience. This one is a nope for me. read more

Everything was great...had a baseball team there with a lot of boys that played "knock-n-run" but other than boys being boys, our experience was good. Breakfast was great and so was the staff. We left our current hotel situation due to a mold odor that caused an allergic reaction, a safety issue as the back door didn't lock and a disgusting room wall paper stained and peeling, furniture chipped and the odor was unbearable. We were desperate. When we pulled up at 11:30 pm Christina the amazing lady who was working the front desk at Hilton Garden welcomed us as if she knew we were desperate. It was as if knew that our family was stranded and desperate. She welcomes us, accommodated us and gave us the best rate. Thank you. The room was clean and odor free. My husband and I decided on this hotel really after finding out they were now serving the signature HGI breakfast. I noticed there were mixed reviews on this property, but I gotta say we really enjoyed our stay. We started off in a Double room, but was able to change to a King room. Both rooms were really nice. The rooms looked as if they'd recently been updated. Everything looked nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great. The breakfast was awesome! You had to wear your mask and put on the gloves that were provided to get your food. I can appreciate that. Eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, hashbrowns, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, muffins, juice containers, coffee, water and made to order breakfast. I'm pretty sure there was more, but I just can't remember right now. Everyone was super polite and helpful. When you walk by the swimming pool it smells as if they put ALL of the chlorine in the water. Definitely no rona up in there! Great location. Springhill Suites and the Residence inn are right behind this property. Tons of restaurants and shops close to it and within walking distance. No complaints. We enjoyed our stay read more

Stayed at this hotel for one night, just happened to get ready for the shower and laid out my towel. Only to find BED BUGS within the towels. We then decided to check all of our bed, low and behold BED BUGS in 3 different beds, 3 different rooms. As we went to talk to the managers , it was hard to locate someone who spoke English. Then when presented with the bed bugs, they said they couldn't do anything about it. Further discussing it with the managers who finally showed up, they tried giving us a 25% discount. We now have to fumigate ALL of our belongings that were brought into the establishment to ensure we don't carry these bugs somewhere else. Room 205, 204, and 206 were the rooms that had bed bugs, amount other issues with the rooms (sticky countertops, sticky phone) hygiene in the room was absolutely disgusting. read more

Wonderful stay! The hotel is clean, the room and beds are comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a nice indoor pool area that my son enjoyed swimming in. The breakfast is amazing! They serve made to order omelettes, pancakes, and they have scramble eggs, bacon, sausage in the buffet. As a Hilton diamond member, we got the breakfast for free. Otherwise it is $11 person. We stayed on a Saturday night and upon arrival we were warmly greeted and we went to our room. The key didn't work so we had to go back and get some help and they walked us to our room and helped us to get in the door. We didn't stay long and went out until 8:30. We noticed our AC was not working after taking the temperature to a low degree. We had it on fan so it wasn't miserable but it wasn't an ideal temperature. It was late and we were tired so we didn't not report it until the next morning when we checked out. To say that the front desk was flabbergasted at our report of the AC not working would be an understatement. They were extremely apologetic and proceeded to compensate us for the inconvenience. They were very nice and we will be back, such a nice hotel and the staff is very friendly. read more

It was okay for a Hilton. We both struggled to sleep, he kept bumping his head in the sharp corners of whatever built in thing they have and refer to as a bedside table. It was anything but. Anyway, we only stayed one night, it was my birthday and he surprised me with the 90 minute drive for dinner and a quiet night from the chaos we call family. The hotel is undergoing renovation of some sort, I hope the room we were in wasn't already renovated. Breakfast was 15 bucks a person, the biscuits were hard, the bacon and sausage we greasy, serve yourself stuff, my waffle and his omelet were cooked to order, we both had coffee which was also serve yourself, I just thought an additional 30 bucks was silly. Our servers for breakfast were Brenda and Delphine and both were helpful, attentive and friendly. The food choices were many and easy to order what you wanted. Brianna was our bar tender who let us in on the well kept secret -- they serve dinner. Hilton is not doing a good job of advertising this service. Luce was the chef and dinner was also excellent. We're from Texas and my husband LOVED the Texas tacos. We'll stay at this location again in the hopes he can have another serving. read more

I had a pleasant experience at this hotel - it's really centrally located in Williamsburg by the main shops and restaurants on Richmond road. You could easily park and walk around for dinner and shopping (though the road is busy af all day and night). Yankee Candle is nearby as well as the Prime Outlets (think 3 minutes drive). The historic Williamsburg area is about a 10-minute drive so that is fun as well - also about 15 minutes to the Jamestown Ferry. Plenty of parking. OK, enough about location. The lobby is beautiful with plenty of seating in the main area and a large table and fireplace with the usual water, coffee and snacks out in the evening. The room was huge and spacious and clean. It was also VERY quiet which was nice. I took an afternoon nap and slept very well the next night and into the morning until about 8-9am. I had the breakfast buffet in the morning before departure and the older lady who greeted me was pretty unfriendly. Granted, I did roll up at about 10:55 when they stopped service at 11am but still - I had time - and most of the items are easy like cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, oatmeal, etc. The other stuff was out buffet style on the side. Wtf. She basically told me to kick rocks and I said, um, no. I'm eating and forced my way past to a table. That was the only negative so I'm not going to dock any stars for that. We stayed at the this hotel for a brief stay in Williamsburg. The hotel staff seemed to be friendly. We had a room with two double beds and a living room area. When we entered the room the door had a sanitary seal on it to tell us it was cleaned. The room seemed clean for the most part. I did notice some stains on the wall like somebody had wasted something and it was not cleaned up. The beds were comfortable. The room did have two large TVs. The room had a fridge, Keurig and microwave. The hotel was serving made to order breakfast and it was really good. If you like to be woken up by birds chirping at 500AM make sure you book room 126. It's right by the courtyard across from the gym and the birds have some beautiful trees that can reside in and chirp your ass up at 5AM. This might not bother some but it bothers me; just letting you know. The rooms are a bit dated but overall my stay was o.k. besides the fact that I had to move rooms because of the flock of birds. Lol. Gym has two treadmills, an elliptical, dumbbells up to 50lbs, and a functional trainer machine. The room also has a little space to perform any callisthenic/stretches you may need to perform for a warm up. For some reason, the pancakes here are banging compared to other Hilton Garden Inn's. The breakfast is great as usual. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away, If you are in the area try this place out. read more

This hotel is in a convenient location for those that plan to spend time in historic Williamsburg. Upon check-in we were assigned to room 432. The room was spacious, updated with newer furniture. After unpacking, we discovered that the toilet wouldn't flush due to needing a new flapper. Reported this to the front desk as we left for dinner-assigned to a new room. No apology or explanation offered. When we returned for the evening we discovered the new room had an antiquated thermostat/AC system. The room remained stuffy and warm throughout the night. There was also a bit of an electrical concern with one of the outlets. At this point, we just wanted to go to bed. Upon checkout, I shared the concerns listed above. While the staff member listened, she said, "If no one reports it, we don't know anything about it." She did say she'd pass the information on to the GM. The hubby and I were visiting Williamsburg for our anniversary. We booked the "Couple's Getaway" package. Excellent food and service! The hotel staff was very professional, helpful and knowledgable. Upon checking in, (my wife is physically handicapped) we realized we were booked in a hearing impaired room. My wife made it clear to the booking service that she is in a wheel chair. The rooms microwave was very buggy as well as the coffee maker. The wall near the door was missing the wallpaper and looked like crap. The beds were uncomfortable as well as the pillows. The "chef" taking omelet orders was rude. I watched the runny egg run out of the end of my omelette. A lot of the breakfast strawberries were also very brown and rotten looking mixed in with fresh strawberries. The housekeeping staff was not hospitable. Not a friendly hotel at all. So I'm paying 2x the price I paid 2 years ago but getting less than half the service. Basically everything is self serve. Towels, toiletries, getting coffee if you're having there breakfast for which you pay about $13 even if you only want one thing at the buffet and only 1 server who really doesn't serve. Plastic utensils (while other local place have "real" utensils}. Trash in your room is not collected & there have been several trash bags left in the hall for pick. Pieces of the fridge missing. They say to just ask if you want something but isn't the point of staying in a hotel is service especially at the much higher rates??? There was also some food on the floor. Twice I went to the front desk & no one was around. After 2 days I asked if they were going to take of the room & they said they don't do that unless you're staying 5 days (I am) and you can always ask for thing & you can get them at the desk. They said it's due to Covid but all other places seem to be ok...Cracker Barrel, Golden Corral & CW hotels. I have been coming here for 10 years at least & have never seen it like this. DEFINITELY not worth the $160+ (more on Friday) I'm paying. I think this will my last time here. read more

I was pleasantly surprised. A friendly staff and large, comfortable room. The breakfast buffet is about $10 and has a decent selection. If you don't want to eat in the hotel there are many food choices within walking distance or a short drive. Nice indoor pool. My only complaints, which are minor : they didn't keep my in-room coffee stocked, and the pillows. The pillows are nice and soft, but they're those kind that compress down to about 1/4" when you lay on them. So you need 2-3 to get any support at all. read more

A little getaway and this is one of the nicest hotel here in Williamsburg. My hubby had booked it late so we wind up being in the handicap room...smh. This room of course is larger than your standard room and the bathroom had the wheelchair accessible shower. It was weird taking a shower and holding a hand held showerhead. It took me back in the dorm bathroom in college, so all I can do is laugh! They have a heated pool/jacuzzi and fitness room with only 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and free weights. The breakfast buffet was $9 per person with eggs, meats, waffles, pancakes, cereal, toast, Danish, grits on the day we were there. read more

I travel for business often and stayed at other Hilton Garden Inns, this one is a bit outdated inside the rooms. The deco in the lobby area doesn't match what is in your room at all. Wish it did. Old furnishings, not quite queen sized beds ( have one at home much wider than those in the room). The beds are not those with buttons like sleep number or those that are adjustable in comfort like other beds in other Hilton's. Standard spring mattresses that can use updating. Carpet is dated, suggest wearing slippers or flip flops. Bath tub usually comes with tub mat that you can step on, but not here so didn't go barefoot in tub. No fans in the bathroom so with a party of 5, if someone goes #2, keep door closed and ask to do courtesy flush during. You'll smell it when they open the door. Eww right! Kids love the 24hr indoor pool. Parents can get private time with that ;-) Cookies were awesome especially when just baked. They offered choco chip and peanut butter. Yum! Naturally flavored fruit water available, that varies day to day. Breakfast was great!! Free with our stay but $9+ per adult and $5 for kids. Worth it. They have various fruit juices avail and many options to choose from. They had eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, biscuit and gravy, cereal, bagels and made to order omelets and waffles. Check in was great and the bar! $9 for a margarita that is yummy and conveniently able to take up to your room and enjoy. Convenient to nearby shops and restaurants. Bring lots of $$ for the premium outlets nearby. cha ching! read more

Definitely a step up from the many run down spots in Williamsburg. Hotel room - clean, comfortable beds, and they actually had some comfortable fluffy pillows. The bathroom was in decent shape, too. Refrigerator. USB plugs adjacent to the bed was convenient. Breakfast - $10 for the breakfast buffet. Surprisingly delicious from your typical hotel breakfast. Pancakes were on point and the chef gladly made poached eggs at our request. You then have your normal fare: bacon, sausage, biscuits, yogurt, fruit, etc. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, too. I would definitely consider this hotel for my next weekend stay in Williamsburg. read more

The hotel needs a renovation and some upgrades. Overall the stay was fine, but there is a lack of lighting in the back bedroom of the suite. The HVAC unit was very loud, and the electrical system in the room appears to have been installed by a novice. Repeatedly had to reset the GFI outlet in the bathroom in order to have lights. Found out the wall light switch also controlled the outlets in the bedroom. There were no sheets for the sofa bed, and there were coffee pods for the Keurig, but no Keurig. Everyone was very polite, and very helpful and the location was good. read more

My fiancé and I spent the weekend here for our babymoon. We were welcomed warmly by the woman manning the front desk. Check-in was easy and effortless. Our room was neat, clean and spacious. Perfect for just the two of us. I loved having the mini Keurig in our room. We put it to good use during our stay. We had the bed and breakfast deal, which included the price of the breakfast buffet with the price of our room. The buffet was worth it - there were a variety of breakfast foods and a chef made waffles, pancakes and omelets cooked to order. The only complaints I had was the quality of the bed sheets. They were thin and scratchy. We had a hard time getting to sleep because of that. Despite that issue, we will definitely come back to this hotel the next time we visit Williamsburg. read more

On a little vacation with the hubby to Virginia Beach, I suggested that we stop for a couple of nights in Williamsburg since we were passing it anyway on our drive down. When it came time to book the hotels, the price + the reviews online for the hotels at the Colonial Williamsburg theme park didn't seem worth the $$ so we decided to stay outside of the park. The Hilton Garden Inn seemed like it was close enough, and we could earn HHonors and AAdvantage miles for our stay by "double dipping" (as they call it) ... and so it was booked. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel is right smack in the middle of chain restaurant heaven. The only time we used our car while we stayed there was to go to Colonial Williamsburg. We walked to the restaurants for all our meals, about 4/10 of a mile in either direction. The lobby is nice and cozy with a fireplace, couches and a table where we saw a family playing a board game together. The front desk staff was helpful. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, and it was nice to be able to spread out and not be cramped in a small room. There was a fridge and a microwave oven in the room. They get 4 stars because we didn't find the bed too comfortable. It does have the ability to adjust the firmness, but that didn't keep us from missing our bed at home. read more

Not a bad place to stay! My boyfriend and I wanted to get out of town for the weekend and decided to stay in Williamsburg so we could shop and get some good food! I was a little unimpressed with the hotel selection in this town, nothing seems to be rated very high. This Hilton is a lot nicer inside than it looked online!! Not to mention, CHEAP! We booked through expedia and it was only like $140 dollars for the night. The lobby looks nice and the hotel provides free cookies, coffee, and fruit water....and there is a bar! There are also a few restaurants within walking distance, so it's in a pretty good spot. Joe at the front desk was pretty cool. He greeted us as soon as we walked in and explained what the hotel had to offer while making friendly conversation. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is because the rooms are really outdated. The furniture doesn't match, carpet is horrendous and the bed isn't very comfy. Overall, it was worth it for the money and seems like a convenient, clean place to crash for the night! read more
