As a frequent traveler and Celiac I often request gluten-free items at breakfast when I make the reservation. Sometimes hotels comply, other times they point to the fruit. The DoubleTree in Jamestown went above and beyond. Upon entering my room, I saw a handwritten note that let me know about all they had done to accommodate my request. The manager had gone out of her way to purchase muffins, breakfast granola bars and oatmeal. She also communicated this to the weekend staff during my visit, who handled this flawlessly. I was super impressed with this kindness and hospitality of the manager and the staff I interacted with during my stay. Beyond that, I thought the breakfast buffet was above average with its many fruit offerings, as well as the standard fare. I ordered an egg white omelette both days, and it was just okay. The room was large and clean. The fitness center had a good collection of equipment, though the hand wipes were empty both days. All in all a very positive experience. Would highly recommend and stay again if I ever return to the area. read more

Kayli was absolutely above and beyond fabulous! We arrived earlier than expected and she was able to have our 2-room suite cleaned next so we could do an early check-in. The pool was closed for maintenance, she was able to secure access to the pool at a sister property nearby. Terrific customer service! As always, yummy warm cookies, bottles of water, upfront diamond parking, and this location is clean/updated. Even the maintenance guy was friendly and jovial. Plus, a great location for walking to the nearby comedy museum. We did the Lucy sites driving tour as well. What a gorgeous city! THIS is how Hilton is meant to be experienced. Slightly confusing entrance from the parking lot. You have to walk back down the ramp to the street entrance when checking in. After you have your room key/digital key you can enter the building from the door in the parking lot. We are staying here as there is a supposed deal with the Lucy Museum and The National Comedy Center, getting the tickets with the room reservation. Both of these are within easy walking from the hotel. When I first called to make my reservation the desk clerk gave me the deal for two nights when I only needed the tickets for 2 people, not 4. The numbers did not add up and on my second call the reservations were corrected, but now had to be made as two separate reservations. In the long term this means we checked in for one night, checked out in the morning and checked back in for our second night. This was not a problem until we tried to re-enter our room on our second day. We were locked out as the digital room entry was programmed to think we had checked out. It was resolved with a return trip to the front desk. It is a good looking hotel with a very large room for the breakfast buffet( not included unless Hilton Honors Gold or higher), and a good sized bar/restaurant with multiple TVs for watching(mostly) sports. Both the breakfast buffet and restaurant have good food at reasonable prices(see separate reviews for Pearl City Hops. P.S. The bath towels are very, very nice, and there are warm cookies(complimentary) at the front desk. read more

Check-in was OK but the renowned cookie offering not much of an offering when you checkin as 4 people and are offered one cookie for all. Parking was a joke. No where at the hotel to park so a voucher for parking next door in a city lot is their answer. I was traveling with 90 year old people so their's that, not to mention that my rental car and 3 other cars were broken into that night. In the morning, I went to the lobby for coffee and they had a nice coffee maker but no way to tote coffee to the people staying with me. A tray or something would be nice. I called for room service, non-existent. Over-all, I was just not impressed. I will go back to staying at Wyndham hotels. read more

There is a 'Travel in the time of COVID-19' learning curve... The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. When entering our room there is a sticker over the seam of the door and door-jam that gives a sense of security that the room has been sufficiently cleaned due to COVID-19 expectations. The master bathroom mirror has a QR code to scan and read what steps are being taken for cleanliness. Again a good addition, however the code was too small for use. That could be my scanning abilities failing, but there is also a website listed to read if desired but it is so generalized it basically reads we're cleaning the rooms. I would recommend calling the individual hotel where you wish to stay if you have specific cleaning questions. In our room there was a sitting area when you walked in that is separated by a door to bedroom. The sitting room has a tv, couch with decorative pillows, and bar area with a counter, sink, single brew coffee pot and small fridge. The counter had a piece of brown paper or cardboard stuck to it. This should have been removed by the cleaning crew. We put water on it when we left so it would be easier to remove later. The bedroom has only 1 light source available: a small lamp on the desk in the far corner on the other side of the TV, not easily found in the dark. Nightstand lamps may have been taken away because they are a high touch area, however decorative pillows in the other room are more high touch and on average are rarely cleaned. The toilets are air assist which flushes more strongly when using low water equipment - efficient but extremely loud when used in the night. I got into the shower the next morning and my sense of security concerning cleanliness was dashed completely. There was a dirty ring around the drain. (The clean portion in the pic is where I wiped it to see what it was.) That is bacteria bloom and doesn't occur after 1 use but is a buildup of bacteria that is repeatedly dampened and not cleaned. I had to use the sink to wash up. When asking for a place to eat breakfast, we were told restaurants in downtown area are still takeout, including the hotel restaurant. We decided to find something on the road. Because of COVID-19 I would recommend retraining employees in a more detailed cleaning practice. Travel is certainly a different experience now and the learning curve for cleanliness has a much brighter light being shown onto it. Unfortunately cleanliness has become a pass or fail report card, especially if you would have children involved in the stay. Currently I would give cleanliness a fail at this hotel but hopefully this will change soon. read more

Had a huge mix up with the second night reservation as the room ended up not being available do to overbooking. Still struggling to get a refund from Priceline for the second night. Hotel did provide refund paperwork from Priceline but zero assistance to get them to refund the $260.00 to my credit card. This was my first and last reservation through Priceline. Before using any of the so called best price online reservations companies keep in mind most of them irregardless of name are owned by Expedia !!! read more

I'm delighted to see this building in use again! The 21.5 million dollar remodel shows! It has been a train of different chains and the last owners let this beauty get run down. It sat vacant since 2013! Hilton really spared no expense turning this building into the beauty it is now. Jamestown needed this addition. Very well decorated and nicely laid out. Sadly, there are no hot tub suites or hot tub by the pool. However, the indoor pool is on the 2nd floor with a nice high glass roof and windows. The halls and rooms are modern, clean, brand new, comfortable, and welcoming. The hotel offers free parking in it's multi tier lot. If that's full or you don't want your car out in the snow there's a reasonably priced parking garage right next to it with a convenient glass walk away attached to the 2nd floor of the hotel. The lobby is big and everything is nicely put together. There is a great bar on the first floor that carries local breweries and an AMAZING restaurant on the 2nd floor. I can't recommend their restaurant Pearl City Hops enough! I reviewed it and can't wait to go back :) read more

I was here on business and this is a wonderful addition to the hotels in Jamestown. This doubletree is new, very sleek looking, renovated rooms. Staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant has a first class pastry chef who makes croissants for their breakfast buffet. The morning I was there, they were filled with Nutella. This a ten minute ride to Bemus Point, about 20 to Chautauqua Institution, and 40 minutes on a quiet country road to Fredonia, if you need a Hilton property to stay while visiting that town and SUNY. I will stay here again anytime I am there for business or pleasure. Excellent property. read more

This is a nice hotel in a steel building with large glass windows. The rooms are large and the service is good. The restaurant could stand improvement as well as their buffet breakfast. I would skip the breakfast and head for Starbucks. read more

Jamestown is charming, if somewhat shabby, but we did enjoy our stay at the DoubleTree....very clean, everyone we encountered was friendly. My only complaint was that the restaurant (Pearl City Hops) was super empty and yet the staff was scrambling to make us happy. We felt sorry for them. No beer list. (don't pretend to specialize in local beers and then not be able to tell us anything about them...) Food was okay but I wouldn't say it was something to come back for. Staff admitted that things weren't at the top of their game, but they were really friendly and attentive, but they do need to get their act together. Kayli was great, you could tell the hotel was having abnormal amount of business and they were understaffed tonight. I seen Kayli have a line at the front desk for over 5hrs and she never had a break, never lost control and was multitasking the entire time. the restaurant was also getting hit hard too and the staff stayed composed the whole time. Front desk gentleman was above and beyond perfect! Room great, everything clean.... My only issue is the pool was not heated..... at all. It was freezing, and with no hot tub, it leaves not a lot of relaxing outside the room. Please heat the pool.....it's advertised as heated, it should be a temp people can get in and enjoy, swim laps even. It's a gorgeous pool, but just about ready for ice skating. read more

I am a Diamond Hilton member and travel all over the country. I come to Jamestown frequently to visit family. I was excited to see this hotel open up and the renovation really make this the nicest hotel in Jamestown. The staff are very competent and professional the rooms clean. The breakfast has been consistently horrible- it's usually cold the selection is poor. In 2019 I think I stayed there 4-5 times. They have always forgotten to put stuff out on the buffet be it spoons, trash cans, etc. This past stay the toaster was broken and the oatmeal was dry and cold. I have overheard a manager explaining why the food was cold due to the bldg design has the AC blowing down on the buffet line. I'm thinking this would be a health code violation. Family and friends who live in Jamestown have tried to eat dinner or go to the bar and all said the restaurant and bar are huge failures. Seriously they need to rethink whoever is running the kitchen operations. They should send Management and whomever has the financial authority for Jamestown and survey the Binghamton NY DoubleTree. The Bing Crew can show them a top notch operation with superior service. It's tough to stay in Binghamton and then go to Jamestown. Our most recent visit we tried again the breakfast and once again a fail. The last two days leaving the hotel for breakfast. This hotel should have some security presence the area is rough with vagrants who can easily wonder in upstairs 2nd floor, the front desk is on the 1st floor. The elevators should be cardkey secure controlled to operate. If your debating Doubletree or Hampton Inn in Jamestown. Sad to say Hampton Inn for me in the future. read more

Recently renovated, room was clean, mattress good, staff were helpful, free parking, convenient location downtown. The major drawback is the walls are very thin, I could easily hear neighbors conversing and laughing, but lucky for us they weren't night owls. Also, no free Wi-Fi. Pool was fine. Good location: walking distance to comedy attractions, and a short drive from others. Lobby areas are spacious and clean. Check-in was quick, cookies were offered promptly, and parking is very convenient - three levels next to the hotel. The room is comfortably-sized and clean, but some of the fixtures show their age: a broken shower bar, missing hooks (torn) from the back of the bathroom and wiggly faucet - hopefully will be fixed for the next guest! My wife and I stayed here on March 18 and found this place to be top-notch in almost every way. The room was very comfortable with a large HD screen TV and very comfortable beds. Staff was awfully accommodating! The price was significantly less than other comparable hotels in town. We will definitely stay here the next time we need to be in town overnight. read more

We stayed at the Doubletree in Jamestown for 2 nights recently while visiting friends in Chautauqua. The hotel was nicely renovated and the room was clean, although a bit small. The reason for the 3-star rating is that housekeeping did not do a good job cleaning the room. They did not wipe down surfaces (there was a small puddle of water from where we had made coffee, which dried on the surface) or clean the sink. They also didn't replenish coffee supplies. When we asked about that at the front desk, they brought only decaf and no stir sticks. Sigh... I know this sounds petty, but we paid $400 for 2 nights, with no breakfast included. I'm not that picky, but I do expect a little bit more than just making the beds and taking the towels. The front desk person said that the housekeeping manager would be calling be, but that never happened. read more

Upon checking in, we were asked if we wanted house keeping services because they only do it by request. I said yes and she noted it in the computer. The next morning, we left around 10:30 and returned around 3:30 and our room had not been cleaned. We asked the front desk, they checked the computer, and said yes, it's marked to be cleaned but only 3 girls are working. We left again, came back at 6:30. We stopped by the front desk, the lady said "she" left about 40 minutes ago, but said she had completed everything. Well, she did not. Our room was never touched. All of our towels were soaking wet on the floor. They offered us extra towels and that was it. Definitely not worth the money for the lack of services. They do offer a breakfast buffet... at $15 a person and their parking lot is a nightmare - park in the garage and ask for a voucher. Or, if you want towels, toiletries, and a made bed - stay somewhere else; as we will do the next time we come to Jamestown. read more

Great place. The renovations are excellent. We only had drinks & a few apps in the bar on opening night. It was a little pricey compared to local places. This place needs to welcome the local crowd. It will not survive on hotel traffic only, in my opinion. It is a great alternative to the new scene uptight, pretentious, judgmental places (Brazil, Beer slob) in jtown. They cater to the craft beer consumer, but respect the mainstream common beer drinker. read more

Located in downtown Jamestown, this DoubleTree is within walking distance of the National Comedy Center and most of the city's best restaurants. The upper floor rooms give you a fairly decent view of Jamestown and are worth trying to book. Staff is efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'll stay here on my next trip. read more

The rooms are nice and clean but the front desk attendant Was a bit rude n said "Your free room is number 7-" it was not a free room!! She then told us there was no Complimentary breakfast when obviously there is one since my sons a diamond member. Also Frequently, guests that were checking in kept trying Our door at all hours of the night I guess because they thought it was their room ?? And the attendant did not give us a welcome bag or cookie. Lol read more
