Zero stars. We had a very disappointing stay in room 102. Upon moving the sofa slightly, we discovered an appalling amount of trash and filth behind it--including old plastic bottles and debris--that had clearly been accumulating for a long time. To ensure this was addressed, we left the sofa pulled out so housekeeping would notice the area. However, when we returned, while the bed was made and the bathroom was clean, the floor was completely ignored. It was clear they simply cleaned around the mess. The lack of hygiene extended to the amenities as well. The coffee maker was extremely filthy, covered in thick dust and water stains, making it completely unusable. It is evident that deep cleaning is not a priority at this hotel. Furthermore, the room location was problematic; being on the same floor as the lounge, reception, and bar made it extremely noisy and busy. When we raised these concerns at checkout, the reception staff offered a simple 'sorry' but nothing more. There was no effort to compensate us for the poor service or the unsanitary conditions. We would not recommend staying here. Update: After posting, Hilton corporate reached out and provided some points to apologize for the experience. read more

Staying at the DoubleTree was a last‑minute decision, and I'm so glad we went with it. The customer service was excellent from the moment we checked in all the way through our dining experience. We enjoyed an outstanding meal at Claraboya -- Cowboy and his team prepared an exotic, flavorful, and beautifully presented meal. We stayed at the Double Tree Hotel Lubbock on February 13-14. We booked a King room with pullout bed for 3 guests. Upon check-in we were put in a room with a king but no other bed. We notified the front desk and were then moved to a room with two queens. Still not what we book but we were flexible. The next day house keeping cleaned the room while we were out and we discovered my son's Beats Headphones were missing. We called the front desk and the gentlemen was very rude, and said all the other staff had gone home because they were tired and he couldn't help us. I asked for a manager and did receive a call back about 10:30pm. The lady assured me she'd look into it and call me back. I never heard from her. The next morning (Saturday ) I went down to the front desk and spoke to the Assistant General Manager. He was very nice and assured me it would get taken care of. He took down my information and said he needs to talk to the GM on Monday. We went home to Dallas and the assistant GM calls me Tuesday to say he was still waiting to talk to the GM. It's now March 8th and no response. I've reached out multiple times since that call on Tuesday February 17th with no response. Still hoping for resolution to my sons Christmas gift being stolen from our locked room. read more

This DoubleTree wasn't bad, just not up to the normal par in my opinion. We'll start with the CONS: - checkin was a bit of a disaster. I'd been to other Hiltons in recent weeks and was able to checkin virtually and get my room key through my app. Not so here. Apparently the room I requested wasn't clean. We arrived at 4PM. Checkin was supposed to be 3PM. Then the distracted chick at the front desk didn't write my room # on my card holder. I called to request it again. They gave me the wrong room number because when I decided to go all the way back to the front desk it was different than what they told me over the phone. - there was a drug addict who approached us from out of no where in the unsupervised parking lot and got nasty with my significant other when he stated he had no cash on him which was the damned truth. - our room was near a compressor that ran the entire time. I would rather hear that than loud conversations and stomping which is what I usually detect when traveling, but my cowboy didn't like it much. - never got any cookies - the usual DoubleTree offering when one checks in. - terrible WI-FI in #613 - from our room we could hear one particular obnoxious drunk laughing where he sat at the hotel bar which looked nice. PROS: + got the requested king bed with a balcony + mostly clean room + good working A/C in the 100+ degree F weather from June 23-25, 2023 + got to watch Seabiscuit for the first time with free Showtime on flatscreen + close to Texas Loop 289 and Interstate 27 + not far from the Buddy Holly concert hall plus a few good restaurants + ice machine was in good working condition It was just okay for $394.88 for the entire weekend. read more

I was so tired after working a really long day. Then we drove to the hotel in Lubbock. I was super excited to see that they had a lovely restaurant in their hotel and I didn't need to leave to enjoy a delicious meal. I opted for a half watermelon salad and duck tacos. I loved the salad so much that I inhaled it. I was going to leave half to enjoy with my tacos... but it was so tasty that it disappeared! My duck tacos were amazing. They put the sauces on the side so I could taste test them. After the day I had, I wasn't ready for a spicy surprise. One of the sauces was really spicy the others were amazing. The birria was yummy, and I loved the chutney sauce. If you find yourself at the Hilton hit up the restaurant. read more

I normally send everyone to Double Tree in Lubbock. My daughter had her wedding this weekend and I sent several of the wedding guest, including the wedding party to stay here. Terrible experience, room was not what was requested for my daughter the bride and the bridesmaids. Gentleman at front desk was terrible (I believe that several of our wedding guests said his name was Scott). He was not accommodating to them or several of the guests and acted as if he did not want to be there. The room did not include beds as requested, several months in advance. He was rude when they asked about it and asked them why they were even in Lubbock. We took care of it ourselves by just buying an air up mattress ourselves. When they asked for sheets he seemed put out and dropped them on the floor outside of the room. I will no longer send friends or anyone to this hotel. Again, we had over 10 of our friends and family book with them for the event. I am giving this a 2 star only because we love the restaurant and bar and frequent it often. Amazing food and service in the bar and restaurant . But I will not spend money or send anyone to stay here again. read more

First time staying at this location and it has some pros and cons. Pros: Check in was easy and they were very informative of the hotel and what they had to offer. The room was clean overall and the bed was very comfortable. There was ample parking in the rear to accommodate my truck and trailer. Staff was quick to help us with a complaint. Plenty of towels and soap to utilize. Cons: While the room was overall clean, they forgot to pick up a previous guest's razor and body wash in the shower. The guests next to us were very disruptive and loud and could hear them over the TV in our room. However after calling the front desk they calmed down. While getting something out of my truck I was approached by a person asking for money. Overall enjoyed the stay and would return. The issues we encountered were addressed and staff was very responsive and kind. The people in the parking lot asking for money was a concern but they left quickly after being told no. read more

We have stayed before and it was ok. This time YUCK. The checkin process was riddled with unhappy people checking in with various problems. One man was fighting the cost of the room per night and the employee kept her professionalism as much as possible but it was very awkward because they argued back and forth for what seemed like forever. My biggest complaint was the dirty condition of the room. There was a dirty Qtip full of yellow earwax by the ac unit. The shower was nasty. The glass doors were filthy, and all the caulking around the showers was dirty and yellow. The beds were awful too. They are old and need to be replaced. My back is killing me. I gave them two stars despite the condition of the room because breakfast was delish. The waitress was very attentive and friendly and the coffee was good and strong. read more

My family had an amazing stay at this hotel. We were visiting Lubbock for the weekend and spent 2 nights at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel had great amenities and the hotel gym was noteworthy, they have enough equipment to get a great workout. On Saturday they had a piano player and a full bar. The hotel is centrally located, so you can get anywhere in Lubbock in a few minutes. This is a great hotel if you are visiting the Lubbock area. read more

we had prepaid a hotel room ($308) on May 3rd, 2024 at the Lubbock TX location. we booked it via Expedia. We were flying into DFW from New stork but got delayed due to lightening storms upon our arrival. We had let the hotel know via email that we were arriving late as our flight were suppose to come in at 9pm and we had to drive 4.5 hrs to get to the hotel. As we were delayed at DFW due to lightening we didn't get in until 4am in the morning. upon arrival we were told that they had closed the books for the night and that if we wanted to have a room we had to pay an additional $200. Shocked by this we debated for a bit about what to do but in the end took the offer to pay an additional $200 as we were exhausted from traveling. That's when the front desk informed us that he had two rooms we could choose between. One was a room that had not been cleaned and the other had maintenance offer. we declined and left to Holiday Inn close by which apologized on Doubletree's treatment of us and gave us a two night stay for the price of one. I have never felt so badly treated at a hotel which was staffed by a guy named Scott. Never again Hilton For us. read more

Went to make a cup of coffee and the previous guest was nice enough to leave me some ABc gum . Not to mention the used Q-tip on the floor next to the bed. Definitely not worth $125/night more like $75 including tax kind of hotel!! If you don't like to party definitely not the place for you the noise from the bar echoes straight up to all the rooms...Pool heater was out and was definitely not advised it was under repair until we arrived. "Cassie" strikes again! The hotel itself is ok but the staff is terrible. Unfriendly, unprofessional, and uneducated in customer service. Poor leadership from "Cassie" who claims to be the manager but was dressed as though she rolled out of bed to go to work. Another lady never said her name but claimed to be a manager had no bra on . On the day of our checkout, at 11:11 am we get a call from Keegan (front desk) asking when we would be departing and that if we weren't out she would charge an additional day on my card . Totally shocked I told her we were going to be out in 10 minutes which was already the truth. This was never mentioned at check out and we would have been gone by 11:20 regardless. We tried to explain to her and the other supposed managers that if you're policy is that strict, it should be told to customers at check in so you don't feel insulted and threatened. If I would have known that, we would have been gone by 10:45am. Most hotels we have stayed with don't even call you when 11 minutes past checkout. I would totally understand if were after 12 and we were still there. We did get very angry because the staff just wouldn't listen, so there were words exchanged. All they had to do was hear our suggestion - but no, Cassie asked us to leave and called the police. Great customer service Cassie! And to the Double tree corporate person who sees this, if you continue to allow people like Cassie and the other woman who didn't either bother to put a bra on, to be in charge, you are going to lose business. Our child is a freshman athlete at Texas Tech so we will be around for the next 4 years with friends and family, trust me, we will NEVER stay at this establishment ever again and will be sure to spread the news to our many friends and alumni. We are very well respected and connected. All we wanted was to be heard and they blew us off. Never know who you are talking to so you should always try to be nice. Ok, let's start with the pros since there really aren't any: -Conveniently off the loop -AC works well Now the cons: -ALWAYS understaffed or staffed with distracted people -I've had multiple items on breakfast menu and can confidently say they are all terrible. -we've stayed here multiple times and been told to sit down because our rooms weren't ready...at 5:30pm - the last stay the sheets were bloody. Like, dried blood. We asked for replacements and they said "we're busy, we will try to get some new sheets to you." Are you kidding? It's blood from someone else! -always a weird smell in the lobby -never any water, staff says they are always out -NEVER ANY COOKIES! Never, not one in the NINE stays here. That's the whole deal with DoubleTree, right?? The cookies. You can't even get that right. I should have learned my lesson. I have never stayed in such a poorly mismanaged Hilton hotel as I have this one. They are consistently bad. This will be my last stay, and we have cancelled our reservation next month and the month after. This place is ridiculously terrible for the price. Went in looking for the "scratch kitchen." Wow! Good food in Lubbock? No, was closed. How does that work; downtown hotel on the weekend with closed food service? Lobby stank stank stank -- probably chemical cleaner. I questioned even going in, it stank so much, but I wanted to find that promise of a good restaurant. Maybe it was just the lobby? Since I had to ask at the front desk about the restaurant, I mentioned the stink. Got lip instead of a hearing. (Used to be .. in West Texas, people were polite. Not any more!) This hotel is a trainwreck. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone. We booked 4 rooms several months in advance for a two-night stay. We only needed the one night so I called to modify, and they told me that the one-night stay would be $685 per room per night because it was a football weekend. I asked them to just cancel the reservations, and I booked a Wyndam property down the street for $350. They then charged my credit card for $315! I called and Dee said he would take care of it immediately. He did not and now I not only have that charge on my credit card, but they have now charged $787 and three more charges for $1100 each and we never checked in or stayed there! Worst customer service. Come to Double Tree for cookies and great service. No cookies offered at check in. Been to the front desk again and no cookies. The have the cookie plastered on the shuttle van. Seriously! I had dinner at the hotel restaurant last night. It was very overpriced and food quality was average. It definitely was not worth the price. They plate the meals well but that's about as far as it goes. Should have just got the chicken fingers, at least then I would have lowered my expectations. The main reason for this review is I'm a Diamond member and always need late checkout for work reasons. This DT only grants noon to Diamond members and acted like they were doing us a favor for that. Honestly this is getting to be a Hilton wide issue as it's getting harder to get a later checkout. I'd suggest a Marriott hotel when coming to Lubbock. read more

Hotel is nice but food service is bad. We ordered food at the bar and they told us they would call us when the food was ready. We even offered to come down and pick it up. We never got a call. We called the front desk and asked them if our order is ready. They never called. After 25 min we went downstairs and our order was sitting on the counter. Someone sitting there said it had been sitting there for 20 min or so. I generally have only good things to say about Hilton properties. But this one does not meet the standard. Was charged $250 for allegedly putting a hole in the wall. I was visiting with my elderly mother and daughter and I think I would know if someone fell into the wall causing a hole. I discourge staying at this hotel , when time for checkout came I requested to pay in cash (I had booked with card), a common practice .. they refused and they said that they by policy could not accept cash, I asked where that policy was written ,they "didn't know" or refused to show me.. upon calling customer support I was told that as a corporation that they do accept cash.. but was still refused at the DoubleTree Lubbock... they also refused to give me any information on location ownership or who to contact for this issue.. it is a poor business policy to refuse cash... Hotel was average at best. Problem was after I left when they billed my credit card THREE times for the night and THREE time for the same breakfast. When I reached out to Cassie (purporting to be their manager), she advised that my card was declined and I was turned over to collections. I explained that I am looking at the credit card charges and she has charged me for a total of SIX charges. We booked for our 18 year old daughter and told the staff at the time of booking that we were booking for our daughter that will be attending Texas Tech. On the arrival at 8:00pm the staff then decided to turn the girls away because they were not 21. If they would have told us this at the time of booking we would have immediately moved on. My experience was horrible at Doubletree in Lubbock. I had to clean my bathroom sink and shower. The sink had toothpaste at the very top edges. the shower had black debris. I was paranoid due to COVID and the monkey pox because I didnt have gloves. I reported it to the staff but they said maintenance had gone home on Friday. I thought someone would have come on Saturday but they didnt. I reported the dirty spaces twice while there but to no avail. I called back a few days Iater after I checked out to get a resolve for rm 302 but still nothing and this was Aug 5-7 and on the 19th, im still waiting. read more

Do not use this hotel. The bar is in the middle of the atrium. The floors are open to the atrium so there is nothing to block the noise of the bar. Tonight there must have been a party going on because people at the bar were yelling and making very loud noise. I called the front desk. He said he would tell the bartender to tell them to be quiet. Nothing changed. I called back and front desk clerk said the loud one was leaving and it would get quiet. This did not happen. I have a flight later this morning and need to get up at 3:00 am. I clearly won't be getting any sleep tonight. If you want a hotel where it is quiet and you can sleep, do not go to this one. read more
