If you like old world charm , hotel that should have been demolished in the 60's you found it. Really tired, a coat of paint and flat screen tv ain't cutting it. Hinges on the door rusty. If we could leave a no-star review we would. This place has a beautiful lobby when you first walk in and everything else about this hotel is dirty broke down nasty. We stayed in the main tower for one night and just on our way to drive to the right parking area the smell of weed and trash thrown about the parking areas was terrible. Once at the main tower and on the right floor, once again we are hit with the smell of weed all throughout the floor. We were only staying one night and didn't want to be bothers so we sucked it up. The room was not to bad, you're typical outdated furniture stowed everywhere and tacky bedding. We decide to drop our stuff and head out for the night, returning back to this shitty hotel we were ready to leave at once. No parking anywhere people screaming in the parking lots. It was HORRIBLE. Finally parking and in our room again we were at least looking forward to free breakfast, yeah NOPE absolutely packed with no real social distancing we decided to just leave and stop by the lobby to complain. My fiancé went inside to complain but it seems other patrons had the same idea since the check in area was fill of angry people. Hotel very dated, interior and exterior. Room had an odor. Lobby was updated and nice however a gentleman working was somewhat rude and curt. He had a thick northern accent with dark hair and was not pleasant to interact with at all. I had a short stay but I don't think I will ever be visiting again. Overall not a great experience. This is a nice place. I came here for a conference and was pleasantly surprised by the very comfortable room we had (with wet bar), coffee bean coffee in the room. Excellent free wifi services throughout the resort. Close to numerous restaurants and bars especially if you take the trolley. Staff was friendly. Join Glen at the Sonoma bar he was delightful. The serenity pool was nearly empty and our last day we spent a few hours in the afternoon there. Nice mellow music but the gardeners were using all their power tools which kind of threw off the serene vibe. My only disappointment was the lack of alligators (as in not even 1) on the property, I really wanted to see one on this trip. read more

Hotel is one of the worst I have ever stayed at. I was told at in that I might notice a fence from some construction going on. I was given a $20 voucher for my troubles. I was also told that self parking would cost $18 a night. I was not made aware of this when I booked the room. When I finally made it to my room I was surprised to find the view of a full on construction site. You can see it in my pictures. I was even more surprised when at 7 am the next morning I was woken up by the sounds of the construction equipment. The final straw was when I came back to the hotel from being out all day and could not find a parking space. I went to the front desk to explain that I was being charged $18 a night for parking but there wasnt any space. The staff at the front desk told me "well what would you like me to do? You really have 2 options, either valet park or keep driving around until you find an empty spot." This is not the customer service I expected from a Double Tree. read more

I ended up getting a room at this hotel last minute while traveling on business. I booked it through the website online since I am a Hilton honors member. Entering the lobby of this location you get the impression that you're really going to be wowed. It has huge vaulted ceilings and displays a large projection TV image on either side of the building. It looks a little bit like something out of a movie. The front desk staff was friendly and I was assigned room 517. There was a bit of a language barrier however and I was given a cookie that actually contained nuts and I am allergic. As is standard with Hilton properties and the Hilton honors program, I was also given a bag with two bottles of water. The property is rather large and I was shown a map of exactly where to go. She asked if I was going to need valet or if I would self park. Driving the company vehicle I have to self park. Later on when leaving for dinner I would discover that self parking means that you pay $15.96 plus $1.04 tax, so be prepared if you drive to this hotel. The self parking is "gated" with an electronic "guard station", that takes credit cards if need be. This property has three pools, a restaurant and a bar none of which I visited on this trip. As I pulled around to my building I could quickly identify which building was mine, however, I was unable to actually see the room numbers while driving. I managed to find my room and discover that it was on the corner of a corridor door, by the stairwell. I would later learn to regret this even though it's closer to my vehicle because of all of the foot traffic that you can clearly hear, way into the evening and very early in the morning. To avoid looking like a motel, they have placed a half wall and a hedge in between the parking and the walkway for the rooms. This means that you can only get to the rooms by the ends and the middle of the building. The only positive to this room's location is that it's 20 yards to the family pool and right around the corner from the ice machine. Opening the door I was initially pleasantly surprised, with the decor and colors it seemed quite masculine. It features greens and browns and wood. After settling in, I realized that it's kind of a mismatch of furniture and overall decor. I'll attempt to describe it to you, starting with the single bedside table between the two double beds. It contains an alarm clock and a lamp. The alarm clock is so incredibly bright I had to place a towel over the top of it for sleeping. I was also rudely awakened by it at 7 AM as someone forgot to unset it. Missing from the bedside table is an outlet to plug-in your phone or tablet. This is a huge oversight in today's traveling world. I found the bed to be comfortable enough but the blanket is thin and the pillows are oddly shaped and square instead of rectangular. Most of them are lumpy although there are four pillows on each bed which is a plus. Also in the room is a long bench with a shelf underneath it that assumedly you might be able to squeeze a suitcase under but it doesn't look to be wide enough. You could also possibly sit on it to put your shoes on in the morning or use it to unpack. Next to that is a dresser with a lamp, a 30 some odd inch TV and a Cuisinart coffee maker. The dresser has four medium-sized drawers. Situated in a line on the wall next to the dresser, is this desk that I am sitting at to write this review. It is also wood but does not match the rest of the furniture. On it is a lamp that does contain two outlets. From the door you can see into the sink area of the bathroom which features a large mirror on the wall and "marble countertops". Underneath the sink is a wooden shelf with extra towels and a hairdryer. It was painted black and the paint is chipping. The sink also has a drip leak and is slow to drain even with regular running water. The showerhead needs to be descaled but the water was hot. A small annoyance was that the shower curtain insert was not fastened/buttoned all the way and was falling off the curtain and I had to fix it myself. Also in that area is a closet about 4 feet long which houses an ironing board. The air conditioning worked quite well throughout the evening. For the noise and general room comfort, I had it set to 69° and it pretty much stayed on the entire night, providing cool comfort and sound to drown out the exterior noise. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being pitch black this room is about a five. The room darkening curtains although they sort of match being green, are not really that dark and light pours out from not only underneath the curtain but also through them. This is a shame really because the door is actually sealed, quite nicely and no light comes in from around it. Overall this isn't a bad hotel mind you, but since the pricing is on par with the rest of the hotels in the area, I feel a little let down. . It's really just average and in my book, average is lame. I thought the place served well for the value, however the beds were really stiff, almost like sleeping on cardboard. This is 2015, time to upgrade in my opinion. The grounds were well kept and the onsite amenities were excellent. However, when booking hotels you want comfort as well as cleanliness. As a frequent business traveler, I have stayed in plenty of hotels. This DoubleTree is fairly typical for the brand and the area. Orlando has no lack of hotel options and price points. This property is a resort layout, multiple buildings of rooms which are not interconnected. The lobby is bright and basic with the typical services; front desk, gift shop, small lobby bar and a restaurant. Note you have to go outside to get to the restaurant. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient. The Villa rooms are in two story buildings spaced throughout the property. The rooms are basic and clean but suffer, as most do, with a damp smell. It is Orlando and the humidity permeates everything, even in the winter. The Tower Rooms are in a 15+ story building which is s bit more like a typical hotel setting but suffer from the same damp smell. The pools appear well maintained. There is a decently equipped workout room in the Tower Building. I have stayed in multiple buildings and room types. The beds are decent but the pillows are terrible and lumpy. Overall, it is a decent hotel and as a Hilton member, the warm cookie and bottled water are a welcome, reliable custom. read more

Good location. But the place needs remodeling. Everything sort of old and worn out in the rooms. Thankfully though the AC worked well during the hot week I was there. I stay in many Hilton properties each year and this is not one of the better ones. But its OK overall. Decent breakfast buffet and bar, gift shop and there always seemed to be plenty of people around to help you. I stayed at this hotel over the past week during GayDays 2017. honestly, If I were to rate the hotel on its own merit I would have to rate it 3 stars since they failed to properly plan for such a large event. However, it's rating is elevated to 5 stars due to the exceptional, creative and friendly service that I received from the staff that I enclountered; particularly my bartender Joshua V. Let me explain... By the second to last day of the event the hotel was running out of stuff. I went to the bar and the ENTIRE hotel was out of one of my favorite mixers for my normal drink and I was pretty ticked off about that. Joshua quickly apologized and asked what type of drinks I liked. Once I let him know he literally said "I got you" and made me the best freaking drink I've had. It was so good in fact that I named it the "JOSHUA SPECIAL" and spread the word to all my buds. By the end of the night it was a crowd fave. Joshua T definetly is SOLEY responsible for turning a negative, subpar customer experience into a 5 star one due to his creativity, positivity and friendliness. In my humble opinion perhaps he should be DoubleTree's Beverage Manager! Thanks Joshua for making things right and resetting my customer experience! read more

Only one hot tub and the property is huge some rooms so far you need to drive a car to get to front desk , spa or hot tub if you want to go,don't go late ladies alone- So beware. and the rooms are very nice everything but microwave or fridge again very necessary when some rooms are so far from main lobby. Again rooms look and smell great inside but they definitely have much opportunity for improvements. read more

I stayed at the double tree Hilton Orlando by Sea World for three days with the family. The Hotel valet personnel greeted us with a welcoming smile and offered help. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful in explaining everything about the hotel. We stayed at the tower building on the 14th floor with a very nice two queen bed room and a nice city view. The room beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. Every day while on our stay the room service staff replaced our towels and did our beds. The hotel location is in a very convenient location and easy access to parks and restaurants .I definitely recommend this hotel for families looking to a pleasant stay in Orlando. read more

UPDATE: The Front Office Director waived the fee for me as Diamond member. Nice to know brand loyalty is valued. I'm disappointed that I had to escalate the issue to this level in order to get a satisfactory resolution, but I do appreciate that they were willing to make it right. Thank you! ----- All packages (FedEx, UPS, courier, etc.) are received by on-site UPS Store which charges $10 to pick up one envelope weighing less than 1lb. Tell me how that makes sense. Obviously for large conventions with many packages a receiving rate schedule makes sense, but there needs to be some level of basic sense and customer service when a single guest wants to pick up a single FedEx envelope weighing less than 1lb. The Front Desk passed the buck to the UPS Store, the UPS Store said they don't set the fees (they do), they told me they can't help how much I paid to have an envelope overnighted (irrelevant, rude), and then told me that a lot of hotels in the area have convention fees for shipping (irrelevant - I'm a single guest with a single envelope). The Front Desk then connected me to a Front Desk Manager who told me that it's all on their website (unhelpful to me now, thanks). In the end no party was willing to help find a good solution, they passed the buck, told me they can't do anything, wasn't their fault, didn't care. As a corporate customer and a Diamond member, I'm pretty disgusted at the lack of professionalism and care for customer experience. read more

This hotel was amazing, the staff was excellent. Everyone was extremely helpful. Some staff members I would like to call out are: April - the front desk manager Tammy - the food and beverage manager Maizell - an amazing server who is always smiling and such a genuine happy person Sidony - another amazing server who was very pleasant and fun Ingrid - who makes the most amazing waffles and omelettes in the world. I could not have asked for a better group of individuals. Never did I want for anything that was more than a request away. They went so far above and beyond, it was extraordinary, from just their everyday service to the fact that they found out it was my birthday and had a cake waiting in my room upon checkin! This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. If u ever stay here, make sure they don't put you in the 2 story motel rooms. They don't differentiate between the main building and the motel when you book the rooms. We had wrappers, dirty bathroom, leaking faucet, doors with gaps that let insects in from the outside, roach episode, completely unacceptable. I had a dog fight erupt outside my bedroom door at night when I was trying to sleep on night 1. Just ridiculous. Never again. read more

My family and I have been here for 2 nights and we love this place. You can literally park your car and not touch it for days. They have so many things to do on site and places to eat. We didn't touch our car for 2 days and it felt pretty good. The staff deserves an A++++ for service. Before driving in we called the hotel and requested a few things (if possible). When it was time to check in they granted all the requests. You can't beat the free wifi all around the resort either. Not sure why this place is getting a bad rap but I would definitely stay here again. read more

Wonderful hotel near Sea World with shuttles to the theme park. Our suite was spacious and clean. The walk in closet was huge and great for luggage and pool toys. The kitchen had a full size fridge and space to eat at the bar. The sidewalks and garden areas were very lovely with secluded hammocks. The pool was lined with deck chairs. My husband and I had a great time. We did not see any bugs, but florida is very tropical so an occasional bug siting is normal. read more

This resort was awesome. The kiddos thoroughly enjoyed the multiple pools. The food in the Laguna restaurant was fabulous, especially the breakfast buffet.I would give the resort 5 stars except for the fact that the showers did not seem very clean and had lots of mold and mildew. They definitely need a good bleaching. I got around this by buying some shower shoes. The rest of the room was neat as a pin. I also had a deep tissue massage while I was there and can highly recommend the spa at resort. I wish I could remember the name of my masseuse because he was fabulous. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend this place. read more

Pictures on the website are very deceiving. Starting from the entrance it did not look very inviting the lobby was very nice though. As I drove to the back, while trying to find parking, where my room was I thought it looked much like a cheap motel. The room was nice when walking in but the bathroom was so small and the shower looked disgusting. Then when I went to use the water from the small wet bar area it had mold that came out. Also when our room was cleaned they took our towels but never replaced them. I think the worst had to be no parking. I was here to run a race then I went to Disney. Last think I want to do is take a long walk to my room with bags because of no parking. read more

The walls are very thin, I can hear everyone who walks by the room and the air conditioning unit was insufferably loud! The door to our bathroom did not even close all the way, it kept getting stuck and would not shut. I felt like I was staying at a motel. The shower does not hold water well and so the entire bathroom floor just gets soaked. It is really uncomfortable to walk around with wet feet and I feel bad for throwing so many towels on the ground to keep my room from basically flooding. The breakfast buffet at the Laguna restaurant was alright, but at $21 a person, I feel like I could've gotten a much nicer breakfast. I never felt comfortable in my bed. I am not sure if Florida is just like this all the time, as it is my first time visiting... but every time I walked into my room everything felt... wet. Honestly the hotel, on the outside is beautiful. I'm sure if I had spent more money on a room I would have had a better experience, but I am on day 4 of 6 here and have contemplated leaving this hotel more than once. read more

I checked into my room and it was dirty. Beds had been slept in and towels on top. Also was facing the parking lot. When I went down to the lobby they did correct the situation and I requested a room not facing the parking lot. New room was better, but I feel like after seeing a dirty room I'm just paranoid and being picky because I still feel like it wasn't up to Hilton standards. The bathroom was tiny. Parking charge of $18/day was annoying. I stayed here before with a friend who is a gold member and her parking was waived. I'm a gold member as well but they wouldn't honor that. Stayed here for the first time this weekend to make my final stay to become a Hilton Honors Gold Member. The King Room is very nice. The Tower location is very quiet and peaceful despite all of the activities at this location. I would spend a week here and be content. After arriving at midnight due to a delayed flight, my husband , two children and I were in less than good spirits and ready for a good nights sleep. The overnight check in staff were efficient and courteous however I thought the $17 per night parking fee was a little steep. As we walked toward our room I was impressed by the detail & upkeep of the resort grounds. It gives a tropical look and feel which was really refreshing after arriving from Jersey. The room was very clean and appeared recently updated. However the bathroom was really small. The shower gives really good pressure. The beds were firm and comfy but they did seem smaller than a standard Queen bed. The next day was Easter so I took my kids to the Cove for the Easter Egg Hunt however the grounds were so big that I couldn't find the hint until 10 minutes after it started and the hunt was over by then ( quick egg hunt) Fortunately the young ladies that were supervising the egg hunt were able to scrounge up some additional eggs so that my kids didn't feel completely disappointed. All of the pools looked well maintained and some had water sprouts for the kids. I did have a problem with the toilet overflowing twice, the phone only working on speaker when we first arrived and the TV freezing up even after the technician rebooted it. Not to mention the sink had a slow drain. When I brought some of these issues up to management "David" he did give us a $50 credit off the price of the room for the inconvenience. He also had the TV replaced And seemed truly apologetic, compassionate and personable . I also received emails expressing apologies for the inconvenience. Almost every staff that I encountered seemed to care about customer satisfaction so that made me feel a lot better about the mishaps during the experience. Let's start off by saying ... Breakfast area cramped no room at all! I swear something crawled In a vent and died ( the smell was horrid) now parking omg! No one informed us that parking was not free! Or it was! But did not tell us to use our door key to get in an out and won't refund anyone ( seems like they had it all planned out) the garbage cans outside were filled and smelled horrible. I would avoid this place at all cost.. Pool was decent though not too much filth in the water. If you are looking for a place to waste your money I advise you to pick this one. read more

Our room was not very clean. Had a cockroach walking around. The bathroom tub had rust on the drain and the fixtures were not clean. The toilet handle broke and the toilet would not flush. Overall the room was not what you would expect at a resort. We asked to move rooms after our first night and was denied. However, we were told a manager would give us a call. Nobody ever called. We found it funny on our bill that if we had an issue the management would fix it right away. So we called again after check out. The girl who spoke to my wife was not even listening to her. She offered a free upgrade on our next stay since we stay there so often. What? We don't stay there often and why would we go back. read more

This is a gross place. On its face it seems like just a typical low end family motel. But when you get inside it goes seriously down hill. There is a real lipstick on a pig from the 80s situation going on. But even beyond the general crappieness, the bed has two major problems. 1) They use a flat sheet on the bottom so it doesn't stay on and you end up waking up on a bare mattress. 2) They use a sheet/blanket/sheet as a comforter which is clearly not washed between customers. My adventure has only just begun. Let me count up the horrors so far. Let's start with, for a hotel with Sea in the name, the peculiarly troublesome with the water. The room tap water tastes unsettlingly wretched; the bath water shares the smell, and burns the skin. The ironing board is broken and will not stand up.That means I can't use the smelly water to iron out my shirts. The little coffee maker broke 1/4 of a cup into making some coffee with the wretched water, and even the insta-coffee with sugar and cream could not mask the wretch that is this hotel's water. I had a reserved king bedroom. Not to do an impression of Seinfeld, but why reserve a king bedroom if the hotel will not have the king bedroom reserved, and therefore shifts the customer to a queen bedroom. What, then, is the point of a reservation, and an adjoining price tag? It is also in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by other hotels, and with no shuttle service but a hefty $34 plus tip hotel ride from the airport. read more

This hotel is full of moldy stinky rooms. I have changed rooms three times and each one smells as bad as the first. They try and disguise it with little blue air fresheners stuck in the main vent. The bathrooms smell like they were cleaned with dirty water.... that moldy water smell. I asked if they had any issues, and they said they are cleaning the carpets all over the hotel buildings. If they were cleaned, I would think that the rooms would smell clean not moldy. To top it off, when I went to take a shower, there was no hot water...I even ran it for 20 minutes. I called sent maintenance up. I am a Hilton honors member and this is so disappointing and not the usual Hilton standard. It just seems like a huge property dedicated to tourists money and not quality. read more
