This is a combination Hotel/Motel; you can drive your car right up to your room and pay extra for the privilege. Horrible staff, restaurant workers are guaranteed a 15% gratuity for lousy service. Don't want the $16.95 Buffet breakfast; you will be lucky if someone tells you they have a menu as well. I wanted Oatmeal and the waiter rolled his eyes because he knew what his tip would be. Rooms are so so. Don't get caught in one of the out Motel buildings because they are all different. Don't think that your Hilton Diamond Status will count because they don't care at this property. I hate that my first review ever on Yelp has to be a negative one, but my experience at this hotel was so bad that I had to get on to let people know what kind of service is provided at here. If you want to pay extra for terrible service, then by all means come to this hotel. It all started with the check-in process. Our room was not ready by the check in time so we were given a free upgrade on our room. Okay great, but what she failed to tell us was that parking was complimentary for us because we booked with a large party, which is kind of a big deal because parking is 17 dollars for one night, or if you're staying for multiple nights it is 8 dollars per night. Every parking area is gated, and in order to get pass the gate, you are required to scan your room key. Well, the woman up front did not tell us this. Instead, she provided us with a guest access key, which is white (looks different from our room key). Because the card looked different from our room key, which was blue, we assumed that this was the card that would allow us to go in and out of the gates. When we pulled up to the gate, we first noticed that there is a card insert with a flashing blue light. So with common sense, we assumed that this is where you insert the guest access card in order to open the gate. So that's what we did. After that, it printed out a ticket and the gate opened. What we did not know (bc the woman at the front desk never explained to us) is that there are actually TWO places that will read the card in order to open the gate. We were never suppose to insert the guest access card, we were supposed to scan it in the other slot. Having never been here before and having no clarity in procedures, how should anyone have any clue where to insert the guest access card? We did not realize that this was an issue until we tried to leave the hotel to grab dinner. As we approached the gate to leave, the gate signals for us to insert our ticket (which was printed out from earlier) and so we did and then we were ordered to pay 17 dollars. We knew this couldn't be right but with cars lining up behind us, we reluctantly inserted a 20 dollar bill to pay. Later that night, We went back to the front desk to resolve the issue and this is when we learned for the first time that parking was complimentary for us. The girl said there was nothing she could do right then and asked us to come back in the morning to talk to the manager who would resolve the issue. I agreed since it was getting late. Prior to walking away, I made sure to ask "The manager would be aware of this situation in the morning, right?" She laughed and said "yes." In the morning I went up to where I was directed and of course the woman had no idea. The manager wasn't even there. She called Steven, who is the manager, and explained to him the problem. They were on the phone for a few seconds and soon the girl hung up and said that there was nothing the manager could do because we had no receipt. Out of frustration, I asked for her to call him back so that I could speak to him myself. Steven did not give two cents about the situation. I don't understand why something as simple as a refund could be so difficult for him to grasp. He acted as if it were my fault, he spoke to me as if I were stupid, and told me to leave my personal information such as name and address, and he would mail me my refund. Yea right, just like the night before when someone told me they would take care of the issue in the morning? I was so flustered and frustrated at this point, I gave the girl back the phone. I was done talking to him. She knew I was very unhappy, so she brought me in to the front desk to another woman who looked like she could have been of managerial authority. She let me explain the situation for the third time and within 5 minutes, I was given my refund and an apology. She didn't ask questions, she didn't argue. Why couldn't this happen the night before? Why did I have to go through all this trouble and deal with someone like Steven OVER THE PHONE, WHO WASNT EVEN THERE? Seriously the worse customer experience I have ever endured in all the hotels I've ever been to. I will never come back. read more

Terrible customer service! I called to add a name on my reservation for check in purposes. I spoke to Regina the operator, Terrance the reservations supervisor and Sharonda who was a "manager". They all told me to call Expedia. Expedia told me to call Groupon, who doesn't have anyone answering calls, after an hour and a half of calling around I told Sharonda that I was considering canceling due to the frustration and she told me "that's fine" just call Expedia, there is no cancellations penalty. I think this is a terrible way to treat future guests. I haven't even checked in and already am experiencing terrible customer service. This is a horrible way to start off my wedding anniversary! After reading the reviews I have decided to cancel my reservation and look for another hotel. I recommend you STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! read more

My family and I love the Doubletree SeaWorld. The service is always top notch and the resort is beautiful. We especially love the on-site market. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. We won this hotel on priceline, and I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews on various websites. Eh, overall, it wasn't too bad. As many people in the reviews point out, this is a complex, and you will likely end up in one of the outlying buildings. When we first walked in the room, I thought it was gorgeous--decorated in a Florida coastal theme. The location was superb even if you weren't visiting SeaWorld, near everything but not in the thick of the crazy area. They have free yummy cookies! However, there were some negatives that bring it down to 3 stars. First of all, the parking which was not included in the hotel price was $17 or $18 after tax per day. That is really exorbitant, especially since there is plenty of parking and the parking lot was not that well kept up. Also, considering the price point for the hotel, that is a lot. Also, you have no other options around there for parking. At least if you were downtown, I'm sure there would be paid parking lots or garages nearby to choose from. Also, the walls were paper thin. If workers walked by chatting early in the morning, they woke us up. We heard the family next door chatting as they woke up. People woke us up in the middle of the night walking by chatting. That was really annoying. The fact that Orlando is soaked with so many hotels to choose from, would we go back? I don't know...maybe. read more

My family and I came at the invitation of a dear friend of my late wife's. We came for 2 days. We stayed in building 1, room 147. The second day we went to the Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. On to the hotel, the room had a double bed, which is what I asked for. It was nice, clean, and most importantly, quiet. Overall, we were pleased with the stay, except for one tiny thing. When I was checking in, I asked the front desk to give me a 6 AM wake up call the next day, and they said they would. Well, I woke at 5:30 the next day to shave, and when I was done, I saw that it was 6:15, and didn't hear the phone ring at all. Looks like somebody forgot to leave a note with the morning staff about my request! Anyway, that's all I have to say. It was pleasant enough. Oh I almost forgot, I was surprised to see that there was no refrigerator. We brought food back to the hotel room our first night expecting to put it in the fridge, and there was none! read more

Do yourself a great big favor, and never stay at this hotel. First and foremost the parking is a huge pain. You have to go through to security gate to get into any type of parking. The hotel charges exuberant resort fees. But what's worse than any of this is that you will not have a quality well. You will not have a mini fridge, you will not have hot water. That's right, no hot water. Apparently the hotel is called Doubletree because that feels like what you're camping between two trees. Be my wife stay there and for the five days we were there, we only have hot water for one day. The manager offered to not charge us any of the overpriced resort fees which we agreed to. However, these thieves turned around and still charged us some of the resort fees. When I tried to call them back, the manager refused to get on the phone with me. Again stay away from this hotel it is not anywhere near a four star resort. It isn't a one star resort, which is exactly the rating I gave it. read more

Throughout our stay we received 5 Star treatment from all the staff members (Valet Attendant, Front Desk, Porter, staff at the different restaurants/stores, house keeping, maintenance, etc..). Lots of things to do on the hotel property, check out their amenities in their website. The room we stayed in (not in the tower) was nice but not as nice as pictured in their website and our view was less then desirable as we faced the Tower's side wall. Our first night, the A/C in the room was not cooling well. As others commented the room was warm but we reported the A/C issue to the front desk about 9:00PM and 20 minutes later the issue was resolved. Not sure in the Tower, but in our room, close to the gardens, we would find little roaches and spiders crawling around at night. As for the room rate, this hotel charged us an additional $20 daily for self parking which they now cleverly disguised as a Resort Fee. Why can't they just be up front and include it in the daily room rate??? We loved the service/attention that we received from the staff but with so many choices in the area, I don't think that we would stay here again. read more

Standards and Service that is what it is about!!! This hotel as the attention to detail down to a science. I'm at suck for GREAT guest service on a budget. 5 stars and a 4 star price. So I arrived on Sunday to celebrate my birthday for a few day, and as usually Edra who is one of the managers for reception saw me and greeted me, made me feel welcome right away, which is so there style. He handed me off to Stephanie who is a supervisor and the front desk and she was like Mr Harvey is was great to have you back, she gave me a room 210, and also offered me those wonderful cookies. I had also seen Gino who is the Director of Outlets and he wished me a Happy Birthday. I arrived to my room and I had never staying on this building before but it was lovely, Clean and well setup suite with a gull refrig, micro and living space and king size bed room. My new favorite type of room. So later that evening I went to the restaurant and had a great meal with Jennifer who is amazing, I have interacted with her in the past as she used to work the front desk and has now been promoted to Supervisor in the restaurant, so she brings a value to Steve's Team who is already fantastic with her service style and care for the guest. And Chef Alberto and his morning staff Ingrid and Idra well lets just say if you ask for something a little out of the ordinary they are quick to make it happen for you with no question.. again its the service and standards if you can see this pattern across my stay. it starts with Antonio the Hotel Manager and drops down from there. And I will say if you are a Hilton Honors Member, April Willis is the goto. She is the Honors Manager for the Hotel and she takes care of business. This visit was really the first time I have gotten to talk with her and just like with everyone else, her first question was , "How is your Stay, Is there anything I can do"! Again Service Standards. I used to travel a lot more than I do now, and can measure hotels against each other. And if the hotel is doing there job and it is a nice stay I might drop a line or two. But when they Always set the bar high and then jump over it every time..well I have to give props where props are due. And this hotel will ALWAYS get a review from me when I stay with them, because that is what they do. And people will always line up to complain but never tell you when you are doing something good...and they do it right.....So thank you Doubletree Service for making my little stay a great one once again. read more

I cannot begin to tell you how horrible my experience was at this hotel. First of all, I am a Hilton Honors member and I have stayed at countless Hilton hotels along the east coast, and I have always been pleased with my experiences; until now. I booked my reservation at Double Tree Hilton in Orlando that was hosting Camp Orlando for middle and high school journalism programs. I brought 9 of my students and we booked 5 rooms. The first day we were there, 3 of our 5 rooms were not available until after 6pm, even though check-in is 3pm. Then two of our keys didn't work; twice. The rooms are dated and the carpet is, quite literally, disgusting. The camp we are attending is labor intensive and all of our students are engaged most of the day, so we were content to just make the best of things. The next day, one of my students was upset because a large bug was in his room and he was unable to sleep comfortably. The hotel was gracious enough to allow him to switch rooms. That same day, I was notified by my bank that the hotel had charged (not a hold) my card for 4 of the 5 rooms, even though I had paid in full upon arrival. After two phone calls to my bank and three trips to the front desk, the charges were reversed and the front desk gave me two passes for free coffee 'for my troubles'. Thanks. I know you're thinking that nothing else can possibly go wrong. Day three, the hits just keep on coming. One of my students' rooms was robed, $1700 worth of personal belongings were stolen from his room while we were attending the classes at camp. We informed the hotel at which point they called the security guard, who after taking our information went down to his office with the assurance that he would be coming back up. Two hours later, I went back down to get an update. I was told he would be coming to the room shortly. When he arrived, he had a slip of paper with the Orange County Police website on it. I was furious, to say the least. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any hotel, much less a well known resort hotel. And to add to the complete absurdity of the situation, my room's toilet isn't working. read more

Upon checking in our TV didn't work and we needed to have someone come to the room to fix it. The water literally stinks! The bathroom floor has mold and black stuff on it, as well as ants crawling on the floor. The beds aren't King or queen, they are only double size. And are not nearly as comfortable as the beds at a Marriott. A bottle of water at The Market in the hotel costs $3.20! Ugh! Won't be back here. read more

This is not an upscale hotel. 90 % of this hotel is a barely renovated motel. Hilton really dropped the ball on this one. The Tower rooms are the only part of this hotel that are acceptably Hilton hotel quality. If your looking for a place to bring your children and not really care about luxurious amenities sure come here. If your looking for a nice romantic Orlando vacation, just stay away. read more

Tues March 26th 11:40 at the Barefoot Bar by the pool. Two friends and I walk into the pool/bar area and there are paramedics putting an intoxicated lady on a stretcher. We walk up to the bar and ask for a drink the lady bartender named Kelly says "Hey a little compassion here guys there are people out of control here!" We then say ok but we just arrived and would like a drink. Kelly refused to serve us and there was 20 minutes to last call AND we had just arrived. My friend had a glass of water and she yells at us and says "There's no glass allowed on the pool deck jesus christ guys get your heads out of your asses, I'm closing up the bar leave!" THE WORST experience I have ever had from a bartender. It was not our fault that she had probably over served the women who probably had alcohol poisoning, it was not our fault Kelly was stressed, we were paying guests who simply wanted a drink before returning to our room. If she was calm collected and respectful and explained she was closing the bar early we would not have cared one bit, but she was HORRIBLE and literally insulted us and yelled at us. I would fire an employee in a heartbeat for speaking to guests that way. read more

To be honest when we got there we thought we were going to be staying at the tower hotel i never saw the cabana type rooms of the back of the hotel. The entrance is nice and smelled clean, we checked in fast. We requested a room with one bed instead of two and the rep said well we have one in the second floor but there is no elevator, that right away raised a flag. I asked why there is no elevator and she said well there is only 2 floors and i was like then what is the 16 floor tower at the entrance just for show!. She didn't answer me and continue with the checking then gave us a map so we can find our room. We had to walk the entire place to get to a motel 6 looking rooms from the outside. I was already pissed cause no where on the site said it looked like this, once we got to our room it was a different story it was actually really nice and clean. It took me a while to breath it all in after all we were there to have fun. We stayed 4 nights and i never heard noise or had any problems besides the look of the outside of the hotel. Since now i know how the hotel work i can say i would probably stay here again after all we had a good time. read more

Very disappointed in the Double Tree. We are Hilton folks and stay in them any chance we can. It is an older place and going through renovation. Waiting for a table for dinner took at least 45 minutes. The room was so, so. It is more like a motel than a hotel. It is not your typical Double Tree. We were attending a convention and others were having major issues with their rooms. Our drain in the shower was clogged and they did take care of it when we reported it. The dinner in the restaurant was good, however the food for the convention meals were awful. I would not recommend this hotel to others. read more

Stayed for one night for work. Clean room, nice amenities. Expected lots of noise (stayed on the 7th flr), but it was minimal. Only downside is there are minimal restaurants/convenience stores within walking distance, so ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Staff member gave me sub par advice- I was looking for an affordable place for takeout within walking distance- told me it was safe- and within 1/2 block I had someone verbally harassing me from their car. This place is nice for a short/ focused stay in Orlando, and If you have a car. read more

We stayed using the Salute to Heroes military discount and had a wonderful experience here this past weekend. We only stayed one night, but it was wonderful. Check in was quick and easy. We were able to check in early since our room was ready. All staff were cheerful and polite, not snooty at all. We requested a crib, which was accommodated quickly and the front desk even called a few minutes later to make sure we got it. Our room was great and modern, but not in the tower. No bug problems, but the door's weatherstripping should be replaced and might be why a past guest mentioned bugs. I could see daylight from the inside around the whole door. We used the family pool and that was nice with towels available poolside. I think that's better than using your room towels up. We will probably visit again to use our Sea World fun pass before the end of the year and we will definitely consider this hotel again. read more

Stopped by the Doubletree Hotel for breakfast. A real rip off. The buffet was expensive and there were a lot of choices. But the food was mediocre and barely warm. This place would make Golden Coral look good. McDonalds woudl be better and certainly more economic. read more

First, let me say the staff were very nice and professional, and the property itself is a plus -- lots of amenities. Pool, bar, restaurants, spa -- all very nice. Unfortunately, I was booked for a conference on Wed-Friday. There was an early morning "pre" workshop available on Wednesday morning (at additional cost on top of the conference fee), so I flew in Tuesday evening. Arriving late (after 2a), I attempted to check in but was told by the night staff that there was "a problem" with my room and they would have to put me in a different room. Said there would be a bed to sleep on and a restroom, but no shower, however, I could switch rooms 1st thing in the morning to shower and prep for the pre-conference session. Alternatively, they could send me to a sister hotel 15 minutes away for the night. Given I needed to be awake 5 hours later and at my conference, I opted for the room. i was taken to what they later call the "parlor" and found that it was really more of a meeting/party room, not a guest room. The couches had been made into beds (like a hide-a-bed) and the restroom was somewhat commercial. After 9 hours of travel I wasn't sleeping on a hide-a-bed for $$$ per night, so I went back to the front desk. They said the only option was for me to go to the other hotel. It was 3a by this time (and I needed to be in my morning session by 8:30a). They gave me a voucher to take a ride over to the Wyndham, and said that 1st thing in the morning I could come back and a room would be ready for me so that I could iron, shower and dress. I went to the Wyndham ( a couple steps down from the Doubletree, and a $50 reduction in cost according to the receipt I obtained), and first thing in the morning went back to the Doubletree to prep for my meeting. The desk staff said no rooms were available and that because it was early and people were just checking out, there wasn't anything ready for me. They said I could check my bags and go to my pre-conference session (having not showered in over 24 hours nor shaved, and dressed in a tshirt and jeans). I explained I needed to clean up, iron, etc. and the worker said I should have done that at the Wyndham. I reminded them that the night crew said I could come back in the morning and prep. In any case, I had to wait for them to get housekeeping to prep a room for me and as a result, by the time I was able to get into my room and prep, it was nearly 10:30 and I'd missed nearly all of the 8:30-11:30 session (which, again, was both an additional cost AND the reason I'd come the night before in the first place). To their credit, they gave me a breakfast voucher while I awaited the housekeeper's prep of my room. Late that day, after I got out of my afternoon meetings, I arrived to find a plate of cheese and fruit from the manager apologizing for the mix-up. Fair enough, but we're out $300 for a workshop I couldn't attend, and I'm out personally $$ for traveling the day prior, tips for the shuttle and porter at the Wyndham, etc. The following day, I stopped between sessions at Avalon for lunch but waited 20 minutes w/o the server ever coming to my table (I did ask a busser to help but she never came). Had to grab an energy bar for lunch to return to my meetings. Later, I return to find my room hasn't been cleaned. The room now stinks from the (blue) cheese plate (no refrigerator), and it looks as it did at 7a. that morning. In the hallway, the housekeeper tells me she didn't clean it because they had me listed as checking out that day (Thursday), when my reservation and confirmation was for Friday check out and I'd reconfirmed it when I checked in. I had to go to the lobby to work it out, and then wait an hour to return to the room so that she can clean it. I had asked for the manager to contact me on Wednesday morning when the check-in snafu occurred, but aside from the cheese plate -- nobody called. As I checked out on Friday, I advised the front desk that I was disappointed. The staff called a supervisor over and asked about my experience, and I explained it. I also noted my displeasure at being charged my full rate for Tuesday night even though they sent me to another hotel at 3a and that hotel was $50 per night than the DoubleTree. She ended up taking off the Tuesday night charge entirely, which was nice, but I don't think she understands that ultimately that 1) just saves my employer from the expense and 2) does nothing for me as the traveler that was inconvenienced. The savings from that hotel night don't make up for the $300 workshop that was missed, nor the costs incurred by me to arrive a day early. That they were overbooked and "walked" a 3 month old booking to a lower grade hotel doesn't say a lot about how they handle their guests -- especially the ones arriving for hosted conferences Update: reduced from 2 to 1 star because they never followed through with contacting me to "make it up to me." read more

I got a great deal on this hotel through Hotwire, so I thought the hotel was fantastic for what I paid. If I would have booked through Hilton, not so much. First off, the bed and pillows were AMAZING. The bathroom area was very nice and the room itself was great. I did not get a chance to use any of the pools or anything, but they looked very nice. There is also an area called The Market that serves Starbucks, sandwiches, etc. which I also did not get to try. The negatives are that they do not have mini fridges or microwaves in their standard rooms. The microwave was in a separate part of the hotel and when I asked for a mini fridge they said that they do not have any. There were a couple days that our room was not serviced because we were in the room when the maid was making her rounds. However, one day we went to Animal Kingdom, came back, and left around 4:30 and when we came back our room was serviced. It was a pleasant surprise. The biggest thing that bothered me was that when we got back to our room later than 11:30, we would have to park near the front of the hotel because there were not any spaces and we were in building 8. Our stay was during the week of December 26 - January 2 so maybe it was just super busy; however, it is a little ridiculous how much of a fee I am paying to have to park so far from my room regardless of the time of year. Lastly for the negatives, I think that the resort fee is a little ridiculous. $20 and then a few dollars in tax each night. I thought it was a very nice hotel, but I don't see how a few pools and stuff can constitute for a $20 fee each night. Overall, I loved this hotel. I will definitely be staying here again, but only if I book via Hotwire. If I would have paid the Hilton price, I would not be so pleased. read more

We chose this hotel after deciding to make a quick last minute trip to Sea World. At first, we were unsure because we already had our favorite places to stay when in Orlando. The Doubletree will now be added to our list! Samantha greeted us upon arrival. She was nothing but smiles and welcomed us as if we were family coming home late in the night. Our children were with us and after asking permission, which I greatly appreciated, she handed them warm fresh cookies. We arrived to our room, which we were told would be by construction due to the heavy remodeling schedule ( never heard a thing from it), and found it to be spacious and clean. I loved to see that they used Crabtree & Evelyn soap products. I'm the morning, we had planned to dash out early to head to the parks but the 49 degree weather ( feels like snow to a native Floridian!) caused us to linger in the hotel a bit longer. We ended up staying for the breakfast buffet and I am so thankful we did! Maria, our waitress and a HUGE assets to the company, not just served but hosted my family. She was kind, professional, went above and beyond with the little things that no one else would notice. But we did! I'd love to hire her myself but she told me her goal was to grow with The Doubletree Company. The buffet was staffed with jewels. While waiting for made to order omelettes and homemade waffles, we started conversations with Anthony & Ingrid. Two of the best home cooks! We asked what time they started work and both said 3:30am. They said it with zeal. As if they had been thinking of all of us coming to feast with them way before we even thought about breakfast. They both cook with love and you can taste it! Tammy, the Food and Beverage Manager, bid us our farewell and right before we left she seemed to have read my little girls minds and spoiled them with hot chocolate with extra whipped cream in to go cups. Her leadership has created a family in that dinning room and it shows! What a great trip to crown the end of our year! read more

Nice property but the 2 Level Motel units are run down and need updating. Carpets were stained and frayed in my first room. They quickly swapped me to another room that was dated, but in better condition. The Hilton next to the convention center is incredible but was booked, so i tried this hotel. The service at the Doubletree was very good. Free parking is nice and the hotel is in a good location. But in my book, all of the niceties don't make up for a dated facility! read more

Thanks for the reply! Although the hotel does count with "sufficient parking" none was available near our room we would of had to walk at least 3 buildings to get to our room. The bathroom on room 1128 which we stayed at needs a renovation!!! The bathrooms shower curtain smelled as if it had been washed but not dried. The room was dusty and honestly I have stayed at other near hotels and their rates are more reasonable and at least I will get a clean room! I will not be back!! I learn from my mistakes and staying there sure was one of them. read more

Just meh, to start off they charge 50 dollar resort fee for two nights and say free WiFi and I go and check out and check my bank and I've been charged another 20 dollars for wireless internet which wasn't cool at all since both of us staying just used our phones and free WiFi so watch out. The room its self was nice and had a big tv but a lot of people here seem to complain about roaches so watch out although none were seen. The cleaning lady knocks on your door at like 8 in the morning so if you sleep in don't forget to put the sign out front. Also parking was very hard to find at night and you would often have to walk far and elevators were only on some sides so we often took the stairs. Be very very wary of the hidden fees that they hide such as internet and refrigerator fee. The fees themselves overall cost 70 bucks for me and I only paid 130 for the room so that is a little ridiculous, they do give you free cookies upon check in. King -Deluxe-Wetbar with Courtyard or Poolside view is what I reserved for the period 28 Nov - 1 Dec. When I arrived at the desk, I was given a warm cookie and directed to my room. When I arrived at my room, I found 2 queen beds. I called the front desk and they told me I had a deluxe room but I complained they gave me 2 queens vice a king without informing me. I was referred to the manager (Mr. Thornton) who found me a room with a king size bed and said everything is fine now and he needed to train the front desk personnel. My king room did NOT have a poolside or courtyard view, rather a back parking lot view. Don't stay here and settle for their bait and switch tactics. read more

Ant and roach hotel!!! I was assigned to this hotel for our annual corporate sales meeting and was extremely disappointed from my arrival to departure. First it was like a maze getting to my room with little directions and limited elevators. I was sweating by the time I finally found it. My second of three days I noticed little ants in the bathroom area. They came to spray about 2 hrs after I reported the ants. Which was fine until I saw a roach crawling through one of the cracks behind the sink. I quickly checked out and reached out to my company and then the hotel management. The Manager took her good time coming down and then claimed to provide me hotel reward points to compensate me for my troubles; which I never saw. I wish I remembered her name because I would report her. Stay away from here. read more

Great hotel for even better value if you catch a good deal. Can walk right into Seaworld if interested. Restaurants on site have good food. Pools and playground are excellent. Rooms were adequate. If you want microwave & frig, you supposedly have to upgrade to a deluxe room. Friendly & accommodating staff read more

Not a bad place at all. Friendly staff in every department we delt with. Big property. Three nice pools. Average room. Very close to Sea World. Not a ritzy place but a good clean, friendly, Orlandoish feel, especially good if you intend to go to Seaworld. read more

Do NOT stay hear! Our reservation request was not properly handled. Very noisy. Still awake at 11:30 pm due to LOUD noise at pool. Called management 4 times. They sent security which abated noise for about 1 minute. Poor mamagement. Manager did not care. I paid $500 to attend conference here and will be exhausted tomorrow. Also this hotel was a real dump and Hilton trying surface up grades, but not of quality. Restaurant too expensive or families. Room smells musty. You can get a much better deal elsewhere! read more

They gave us cookies upon our arrival, which was a nice surprise. The check-in attendant was very sweet and kind. I had no idea it would be a motel, with a hotel price. I figured it would be a hotel, like I was paying for. The first room they booked us in was building 18 and it had a very musty smell. My husband has allergies and asthma and cannot breath with that. I should have just cancelled and gone elsewhere, but I decided to switch rooms. The other room in building six also has a slight dank, musty smell, but we made the best of it. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and updated. The family pool had a water spout for kids to use that did not work, which was disappointing to my daughter who really wanted to squirt her dad. The buffet was good, but priced very high, similar to a champagne brunch without all of the options or champagne. What they had was good though. The big shocker was being charged for parking. You pay in addition to your room fee, $15 a night. Had I known this upon arrival or before booking the room, we definitely would have booked elsewhere. I didn't give it one star because the bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but there is still much to be desired. read more

So far our stay has been less then ideal. Our view is facing the parking lot, and it's very loud. Our bedding had tooth paste on it, and there are several people who keep smoking outside of our room. They don't actually have comforters, they are more like sheets. I'm kind of confused by it. I had to pull the extra blankets out of the closet and run the heater on. The house keeping apologized for the dirty bedding and said they were going to upgrade us for our trouble, then promptly called back and let us k ow all they were going to do is "comp" the fridge we thought was going to be in our room in the first place. We have 3 more nights here, and I'm praying they can get us a better room for tomorrow. I can't sleep, and all I smell is smoke read more

This is for one of the Manager's, Woody. David "Woody" Woodstien is who earned these stars. As a Hilton Honor's Reward member, I expect to be treated with a delicacy that is unmatched by any competitors chain. Unfortunately, after being greeted kindly by the pleasurable hotel registration night shift (including an personable and welcoming Nicki), I tiredly trekked through a wet, full, parking lot and figured out the labyrinth that is the system they have to organize their room numbers. As I got to the room, I noticed the maid's cart was outside my door. I never really thought It would be for my room. As I walked in my door, I was overwhelmed with a pungent odor that is not appropriate to describe on a review. There were towels askew, coffee used, beds unmade, and a humidity to the room like the shower had just been used. The room was disgusting. After being tired, wet, and ready to lay my head on the pillows and call it a night, I had to wait for an hour for the room to be prepared. The housekeeper manager was very apologetic and comped my parking for my friends and myself. This was appreciated but hardly enough to turn my mood around. It wasn't until Woody gave me a call and really made me feel welcomed as a guest and a Hiltons Honor's Member. He gave me a free night's stay at the Doubletree whenevr I choose. He made sure I was okay with teh situation before we hung up. He even went as far as to half price the room the next time during a peak season (the comp room was in the mail). WARNING, do not stay at the Doubletree Orlando Sea World or the Orlando Hilton. These are two huge rip offs. First of all, both charge you about $17 to self park. Then the Doubletree says they have free shuttles to the Hilton but they are never around. I ended up paying $17 to park to have drinks with customers at the Hilton, $20 for taxi to dinner and then $17 to park at the Doubletree (they are all only 5 blocks apart). I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars on dinner and drinks but I hate getting screwed on the little stuff, its demeaning. These two hotels will never get my business again. Plus the front desk guy David acted as if I was lucky to be staying there read more

Very nice looking hotel. Slow service at breakfast restaurant. Good 10min to see server. Another 15 for food. Not quite like other Hilton properties. And no, the Rush was over. read more

This room was over priced for no reason. There was no self parking so we had no choice but to valet. When we finally walked in the room we had two queen size beds there were hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very tiny and the room had a bad paint job. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. The next day housekeeping comes by the room without knock and comes straight into the room. Then on my way out in told the front desk to tell the housekeeping to come by and make the bed and leave some fresh towels. I get back, our bed is not made and our dirty towels are still on the floor and the clean towels they threw on the bed. Then to top it off there's people running around the hotels all types of next. And kids too. I honestly felt like the only thing I paid for was the fact that it's the DoubleTree by Hilton and that is close to SeaWorld that's it. I would never visit here again read more

I stayed 5 nights at this hotel for a work conference. The first thing was the overpowering, awful vanilla scent in the lobby. It makes me wonder what they were trying to cover up. It was so strong it triggered my asthma. The desk clerk was kind enough to give me a free bottle of water. He seemed confused when I asked for a quiet room. The room was not at all what I was expecting for a Hilton property. My room was like a 1970s style motel with a door to the outside. It smelled musty, looked dated and upon inspection I found the toilet seat to have a dirty, greasy substance all over it. Disgusting! I called housekeeping, and when I arrived back at my room after lunch and a walk the toilet had been cleaned but the cleaner left behind dirty footprints on the tile. Housekeeping is subpar at best at this hotel during my entire stay. The sink had clearly not been cleaned at all even before me because there were toothpaste stains on the faucet. When my sheets were changed there were holes in the fitted sheet. My do not disturb sign was broken, the toilet kept running one night and the air conditioning was very loud. They didn't even replace the empty toilet paper roll. Apparently a quiet room means dumpy too. The pools and outdoor areas looked nice, but I couldn't get past the camp bungalow feel of this place. A resort it is not. Laguna Restaurant is okay, but nothing special. My first day there I ate lunch. They were out of many things because the bartender didn't show up. Our server was nice and the food just fair. This hotel is disgusting, unclean and not worth your money. Stay elsewhere. Washing this hotel off in my clean shower was the first thing I did when I got home. read more
