The doughnuts here are absolutely the best! There were three of us so we tried several kinds. For me, the ham and swiss croissant was so good. Don't be put off by the price. There's lots of meat and cheese and it's worth every penny. For a sweet, try the creme brûlée. They make them up fresh and we watched her torch the sugar on top. It was amazing. The folks are so nice and friendly. We ordered coffee and she made it fresh because she said what was in the pot wasn't hot enough. She also wouldn't let us serve ourselves once it was made and brought the coffee to us. Very small place, very limited seating, but most get items to go. The donuts are tasty, some are better than others. My review is based on their one customer in the store policy...I have a problem with that because the line outside becomes at the mercy of the inconsiderate customer inside who stand there for 20 minutes trying to decide what donut to get!!! I am all about patience, but when you have a line outside and you aren't using some form of social cues to get people in and out....then its time to allow others in...we are able to move forward now with COVID restrictions being loosened. This is the place that reflects the heart and labor if a baker that gives you a doughnut made with love and real confectionery art. Friends brought over the Tres Leches cake last Friday. I have had this type of cake in Portland and in Mexico, but tasting Dough Hook's version made me realize that I had never really had it before. As good as it can get - wow - fantastic donuts. They are not like your normal donuts shop - Dough Hook as its own unique flavor and texture. Some of the varieties are really unique. Stopped in for some donut holes to take to our volleyball team in town for a tournament. Turns donut holes are not something they have on their menu. No big deal, but they went above and beyond. These donuts are crazy good. I'm not a huge donut lover, but I do enjoy Blue Star donuts and Dough Hook gives Blue Star a run for their money. First of all, the owner is adorable and she and her team put a ton of love into their products. The location doesn't have much room for eating there, but trust me, these are good enough it doesn't matter. We tried 5 different types and each were equally fantastic. I almost hate to tell you how awesome they are because right now they're this amazing local secret and once word gets out, they will be huge.
