Nice cafe, but tables aren't very clean the menu is also very small, just a A4 page on the counter, very difficult to read when there is a line... similarly, prices on baked goods are super tiny. Maybe they just expect regulars? Also kinda difficult to carry drinks up the stairs Muffin was very delicious though ^^

Great new location, modern decor but needs more seating!! I meet my girlfriend here for coffee, been here several times now, service is always great. I love the option of drip or French-press coffee. Also has vegan muffins and other treats. It's two levels but still not much seating.

    Scone and latte.

Great lattes. And special treats. Not mass produced. Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice open upstairs seating area.

Great coffee, food selection, staff, decor, wifi, seating upstairs is cool too. Only thing it's lacking is some power outlets

JJ Bean just opened in Pomo. So far, so good. Definitely has a Yaletown in the 'burbs feel. No complaints on ambience here. THAT drink station is bloody awesome. Hello cane syrup, raw sugar and fresh, fresh cream. Have I mentioned the free pastry samples at the register? Don't be shy and get one of them babies. Great looking pastry case filled with delightful, non stale-looking, more out-of-the-ordinary goodies. You won't go wrong with the banana bread or the giant vegan chocolate cookie. It's been a while since I've experienced cafe goodness like this. I've been in twice so far trying to avoid the Starbucks barista across the street who I had the worst customer service experience with this past August. (Clue: if you like being told you CAN'T have a customized drink, go to this Starbucks) I actually walked into JJ Bean and asked for a pumpkin spice latte, only to find out they do not specialize in fancy shmancy drinks. So I had a hazelnut latte with the perfect aroma and crema to it. The second time, I had an americano and a regular brew. Great, straight to the point coffee. Service here is all smiles and super friendly, despite the fact that they're so newly opened, staff is just getting their bearings on. I do miss the other awesome baristas at the above-mentioned Starbucks, but JJ Bean's got a new regular thanks to... From what I heard, it's a no wifi zone at all their shops. So no dilly-dallying, erm, I mean, working at any JJ Bean!

Good tea lattes! Open later than other cafes in the area on Sundays. Plus it has a cool plant wall.

Truly, you know the food, coffee & tea is good when there's times that the line up nearly goes to the door & no seats are available inside or out. Certain times of the year they have special drinks featured but the staff is so wonderful that if there's something you liked from a past season, if they still have the ingredients, they'll make it. Lately, Ginger Rogers is my treat to boost my day. Honestly, I've tried so many food options & haven't had a meh reaction to any. There's wraps & paninis plus desserts & cookies & take home items ranging from pancake & cookie mixes, jams & syrups to frozen meals. I think it's decently priced for being in this part of the world & like I mentioned, it's always a decent meal or snack. For accessibility, all the tables are moveable. So you could adjust away from the benches & chairs to allow a walker or wheel chair. But as this cafe is smaller, for those with baby strollers, I would recommend leaving them outdoors & bringing in the essentials with your baby/kids. The door isn't automatic but the handles & space around would allow for most to access the doors (providing that the local puppers aren't tied right next to the door & baby strollers are parked far enough back). Parking has one handicap but I would actually recommend parking closer to the vet clinic side, as that would be easier for drop off & pick up for those with mobility aids. There's also a generous patio area for people to sit with umbrellas. So it is very common to see many people sitting with their dogs outside enjoying the weather & a coffee. Bathrooms (there's 2) are accessed by keys provided by staff. It's been a long time since I needed to use them but they were in decent condition considering the range of people that could use them in the day. Might be a bit tricky to maneuver a wheelchair that way but walker & cane users could navigate past the extra door, random pop-up displays & extra table in the business lobby side. This cafe also allows laptop usage throughout the week but laptop free on weekends. After what I seen today (& it has increased in amount of people from other days I've seen), I'm very glad that's the case. Some people legit bring their whole office, including their screen raisers, extra tech options to headphones and such... I personally think if you need to take up a 4 seat space for your "online needs" & you give off the energy that it's serious work, perhaps the library down the road (which allows room bookings so you could do webinars or group work) or look to rent a temp office space might be better for work. But that's just my two cents as a disabled person who notices this happening more often in a lot more cafes lately. I hope these extra tech office travellers at least buy more than a coffee as all the food is really great here & this cafe deserves to be well supported by all. Definitely give it a try if you're in the PoMo area. Especially if you're already planning on walking into the inlet area to Rocket Point park & pier.

When I asked if it was actually a cold brew, I was met with attitude and defensiveness. I was a barista for years, so from my perspective, that level of service was unacceptable. If it were me behind the bar, I would have said something like, "You know what, that doesn't look right. Can I add a shot of espresso or get you something else instead?" A little honesty and willingness to make it right go a long way. Fail.

Four other people who came in (two groups of two) got their drinks orders before we did, which I thought was pretty rude seeing as there were two baristas behind the counter. The tiramisu tasted old -- the outer chocolate layer was hard and didn't taste like much, and the inside was dry and crumbly. A far cry from the creamy tiramisu I had elsewhere. I don't know if we were just unlucky because, judging by other reviews, the food is supposed to be good. My cappuccino tasted watered-down and my partner tells me their flat white wasn't much better. The ambiance is lovely, sure, but the food and drinks were nothing to write home about. We won't be back.

I ended up getting a breakfast cookie and a London fog, both of which were great. The London fog used stone-ground tea which made it nice and strong. The cafe had a calm and almost intimate atmosphere. The design feels down to earth.

The donut itself is soft and fluffy, the filling is nice and creamy, and the crackly caramelized sugar on top gives you that classic crème brûlée experience. It's good, but for me, it wasn't quite the type of donut that all the hype made it out to be. The other flavours were enjoyable; I do wish they were a little more innovative. It feels like there's room to be a bit more creative with the menu. One other thing was how quickly they "sell out." Maybe they genuinely do, but it almost feels like they simply make a very limited quantity each day to create that sense of demand. The location also doesn't do them any favours. Parking is difficult, it's right along a busy road, and it's not exactly the kind of place you casually stop at. Overall, the donuts are good quality, especially the crème brûlée, but I personally don't think they're worth going out of your way for.

The hashbrown bites were nice and crispy. Their doughnuts all looked enticing, but I picked the wrong one. I chose creme brulee, which had a hard icing on top. It was crunchy, which did not go well with the pillowy soft doughnut. I peeled the entire top off, but enjoyed the vanilla filling. Although I didn't like this doughnut, I could tell it was freshly baked and I would return to try their other flavours. There was only 1 woman working in the cafe and she was so friendly. The interior is aesthetically pleasing and seating is comfortable. I went early on a weekday morning so I was able to find street parking, however finding parking could be challenging, especially on the weekend.

It's kind of a trendy cafe, I've seen photos of the other locations but those ones look a lot fancier. I came here because I saw on insta they said this location was the location that had the Ube Matcha Latte but when I went they didn't even have it, which was disappointing since it was being advertised on Instagram. It was also kind of difficult to order and ask questions with the initial barista I was speaking with because of the language barrier so she didn't seem to understand what I was asking but fortunately another girl stepped in to help her out. Since I couldn't get the Ube Matcha drink I got the Hojicha Matcha Iced Latte which was okay conpared to other Matcha drinks I have tried, it seemed like there was a lot more ice than matcha and the large cup isn't very large plus the paper straws were just a no for me. They could have just used other compostable straws rather than paper ones so I give the paper straws a thumbs down. The service was very friendly though despite the language barrier. I didn't see much gluten free options here. I think at a time they carried gluten free donuts from another company but I didn't see them there this time. I'd give this place another shot though once they do have the Ube Matcha Latte drink available.
